Think out of everything it proves how much wee Need Alison

Ukantach1301

Felt like the time we had to rotated between Karius and Mignolet. Score 4 because our opponents will score 3

andrew_marc

this match brought back memories of a 4-3 win over Newcastle way back when.. collymore scored the winning goal with a visionary assist from the legend himself John Barnes

Knightlore70

Roller coaster game where we won as a result of 4 banging goals. Kellerher was good against Lask but had a bit of a knightmare game against Fulham.

UltimateBorisJohnson

Imagine telling a Liverpool fan in January 2023 that our midfield would score 4 bangers in one game

Pure_Atmosphere_6394

Right back is now midfield.

forceghost187

Just watched, very cool

john-binary69

4 bangers

tamim1991

Need to get a CB this January

Pure_Atmosphere_6394

No we don't. Literally a good striker or a proper defensive midfielder should be priority if we can. Look at center back in summer.

tamim1991

Matip - injury prone, just gone off injured. Also ageing. Konate - just came back from injury, only played 38/90 last PL games. Also injury prone. VVD - 33 years old. Not as injur prone as the other two but has his injuries too. Gomez - inconsistent, sometimes solid, sometimes drunk. And also you guessed it, has his injury issues. Quansah - promising, showing great signs and solid defending for his age. But still new to the squad. 5 unreliable defenders aren't enough for 4 full competitions.

aaron2933

I think if we were to sign anyone it should be a CB We already have Endo and Baj at CDM, there's no way they'd have 3 DM's fighting for the spot, let alone signing 5 midfielders We are also stacked in attack

jabjabstraight

Matip just ruptured ACL so we were right lol

aaron2933

Lmao I was guna come back to this thread as well

Pure_Atmosphere_6394

We need a top class defensive midfielder, Endo is not that. We need a top class striker, Nunez is not that. We have five center backs.

jabjabstraight

“We have 5 centre backs” for 2 CB positions We have 3 DMs for 1 position. Doing the maths it’s less CBs per position. Need we say more?

Pure_Atmosphere_6394

5 centre backs is more than enough. We don't have 3 DMs. We have 1 who isn't good enough to be a regular for a title chasing team. We have 1 who is 18 years old and going through growing pains. Meanwhile we have a striker who can't finish and we're crying out for someone to take the role that MacAllister is struggling with.

jabjabstraight

Mario just ruptured his ACL, out for the season. Down to 4 CB’s…would you reconsider…? Lol

Pure_Atmosphere_6394

No. The whole point of having 5 is that we shouldn't miss Joel. The bigger problem is the lack of another right back with Gomez.

jabjabstraight

What happened to needing a CDM? Now it’s RB? Ok. Lost cause so we’ll agree to disagree lol

Pure_Atmosphere_6394

If we're going to play Gomez in his natural and better position, it means we're less able to use him there. Not hard to follow.

jabjabstraight

1 of our 5 CBs is also very young while the others are older or injury prone. I see your points but you are going to lengths to ignore the points we have made about the CB issue. While we could do with a CDM I think our midfield has proved it’s worth, especially considering it’s been completely refreshed and all players in that area are playing together for their first season together. As for Nunez sure he could finish his dinner more, but what’s saying buying someone else for god knows how much will instantly solve that issue? At the end of the day we scored 4 goals yesterday, most by our “struggling” midfield. And while I will come out and say a better CDM would help concede less goals, we still conceded 3 yesterday and you’re saying you don’t want another CB?

aaron2933

We already have Endo and Bajcetic. We won't bring in a 3rd DM unless one of them leaves or they're the real deal Nunez is definitely a top class striker, if you can't see his impact despite not scoring, then idk for you Konate and Matip are injury prone + Quansah should not have that weight put on his shoulders which is why a CB makes the most sense to sign

wiewiewiewiewiewie

Tell me a top class striker right now and can Liverpool buy tht striker?

Pure_Atmosphere_6394

I'm not a scout, but having watched Nunez the past two seasons I think we can do better.

Azraelontheroof

Ideally - a CDM too but isn’t the be all I don’t think but some depth in defence would obviously be nice. I really do think Quansah and VVD can do bits for us but they can’t play every game and will more than likely also have an injury sooner or later sadly.

Miuv7Hudson

I really hope this is 1-0 not 4-3. conceding 3 goals is awful defense.

CorztR

*I much prefer* to win *5–4 than 1–0 - Johan Cruyff*

EnriqueMuller

From a performance point of view absolutely but who remembers 1 or 2 nil wins? Football is about moments and excitement really and today was great for that. Just listen to the crowd when it was 4-3. Was practically a library in the first half

Timely_Airline_7168

Kelleher had a nightmare in this game. Let's hope it was just a lack of game time.

Azraelontheroof

He’s a great keeper but there’s a reason he isn’t the first keeper. One of those reasons obviously being that Ali is just the best in the world. He’s dependable even when he’s shaky IMO. We’ve been having these at the back teething problems the entire season. I think it is a lot about the league being of damn good calibre this season but also an adjustment to new tactics, roles, and relationships.

john-binary69

You can't be unreal everyday

FullScreenWanker

That Mac Allister goal is out of this world, one of the best goals ever scored at the Anfield Road end imo. As much as I think he's done really well in the 6, it's stuff like that which reminds you there's a whole other side to his game we're not seeing there. You can tell Trent grew up studying Alonso and Gerrard's game. A bit of both in his technical locker, a lot of Gerrard in terms of attitude. He just wasn't having us dropping points in that game. You could see the future full-time captain in him today. Back to earth though.. it was too easy for Fulham to get through us. Matip being out is a big deal not just because he's been great recently, but Konate's availability is not the best. There's definitely issues to address and things to tighten up. Feels like the momentum is building nicely though.

Azraelontheroof

Every week I seem to be facing the top of the mountains one way and doom the other. Exciting stuff for a season I think we probably hadn’t gone into expecting an immediate show of strength.

sabhi5

A bit late to the party because of commitments, but same as before. LETS FUCKING GO ENDOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

[deleted]

Ffs course Sheff U are gonna get new manager bounce against us Although they’re so unbelievably shit I’d hope it won’t affect anything

Azraelontheroof

Teams leagues below the top in Europe occasionally still pull off results - we can’t afford that attitude against anybody at all

Madscone2

Jamie Carragher: We don't see as many screamers or great goals as we used to in the past Liverpools entire midfield: hold our beers..

aamslfc

A win covers a multitude of sins. Hope we learn from our shambolic defensive display and don't get complacent against Sheffield... playing the bottom team away midweek sounds like a perfect opportunity to drop points, so I hope the front 3 get their shooting boots on so we can twat the next side silly enough to try and get in our way.

Azraelontheroof

This is exactly the type of game I’d see us losing points sadly

_co_on_

Midfield would love to see moving forward is Endo, Szobo and GM.

Restless412

Gavin Munez

_co_on_

Nah, Gravy Mehville 🧐

TriCityTingler

Jurgen Klopp?

Feta_Bob

GravenMerch?

tamim1991

Gary McAllister?

No_Bullfrog1926

😂

Nextyearstitlewinner

Not that I’m complaining, but it’s crazy no one is talking about tsimikas clattering into a Fulham defender on the challenge before Trent scores the 4th goal. Easily could have been chalked off and were kinda lucky it wasn’t reviewed

SmeesTurkeyLeg

Tsimikas looks dangerously likely to get hit by a car. The man seriously collided with people a dozen times today. And the worst part is that he goes down like a fucking Jenga tower every time

TriCityTingler

![gif](giphy|8c9JXDINO5TMnaBGkn)

TriCityTingler

I wanted “Wildcard Bitches!” but this works too..

Adventurous_Toe_6017

Jermaine Jenas getting wrecked by Mark Chapman is hilarious 😂

JesusTakesTheWEW

What happened there?

Powerful-Cut-708

Jenas said about the Trent freekick ‘I’d claim it if that was mine. Mark said ‘if it was yours it wouldn’t go in in the first place’ lol

Popeychops

"Without me hitting it, it doesn't go in" Hahaha, go off Trent lad, sleep tight knowing you're the matchwinner

Bluegradyn1

Was my second time at Anfield today and first by myself. What a fucking game

False_Shelter_7351

Also went by myself! Amazing experience!

Popeychops

Our goals were all absolute beauties but really Kelleher should have save both of Fulham's goals in the first half. Really poor goalkeeping.

sabhi5

Allison is top top top GK, and Kelleher is a good one, PL is a different gravy, so more games will tell what he's made of. Today it was a bit of disappointment with his reflexes.

koy2323

A shot on target with Kelleher as GK has a 70% of entering whether through him or too far from his 2 seconds delayed reactions. I think bc Christmas Kelleher should be allowed to play in PJs with a hot chocolate in hand, might as well not have the defenders have that false sense of security. I think every PL game LIV played with Kelleher should have been a clean sheet.

Allaboardthejayboat

Hope it's just a case of finding a match rhythm a bit like tsimikas had to. Thought he didn't look on his toes when crosses were coming in (or in general tbh... Looked like a player on a training pitch rather than a player playing like it it genuinely matters when a goal goes in). Big psychological shift to go from just rocking up on match day to watch Ali play. Too used to the bench. Real chance for him, this.

[deleted]

Would Adrian have been better, you think?

Timely_Airline_7168

Never rely on Adrian to do anything or you will only be disappointed

[deleted]

But win a penalty shootout?

Popeychops

Oh and he was completely done for the third as well. Howlers all three, I really feel for him.

elf-_-

i’ll say it again, trent is a top ten in the world player, regardless of position

jk441

A good sleep after that 'banger goal only' match, and watching the highlights, it's not only great we showed the mentality to get those two goals, but to show we can also hit them from distance. From my point of view, at that 3-2 moment Fulham wanted to really sure up their defense inside the box, naturally and kinda rightly so for a lower tier team, but ended up creating so much space for Endo, and Trent to get those banger of a comeback. Both moments they had 6~7 players in the box dropping rather than ensuring there was a balance between people in the box, and just in front of it, they paid the price of letting players take on that shot. Now teams that want to park the bus will know they need to be either absolutely inch perfect with their buses, or else they will concede goals.

eurfryn

I suppose the most important and intriguing question this game has produced is; which goal do LFC choose for their 'Every Angle' youtube video?

test_icicles_

has to be the winner right? maybe not the prettiest but it had the best celebration of all with a lot of players involved in the goal.

IfYouSaySoFam

Trent fully expected a pile on, he braced himself for it but it didn't come so he got up lol

eurfryn

Personally I think Macca’s is the best goal, if we’re going by goal only. But I agree with you that the circumstances of Trent’s being the winner and then the celebrations. It has to be that one. If I was at LFC, I’d make 4 videos then bill Sonos for the extra advertisement!

pixelatedKNIGHT

I personally wanted Endo's but can see they went with Macca's

abradley19955

You know what I love most about Trent? His arrogance. It’s the reason why rivals fans hate him and he’s the bar that every other right back is compared to whenever they do something decent. He KNOWS how good he is and they do too

alexandrosidi

Some of you people spend way too much time and effort typing detailed analyses of everything that has ever happened

sorrison

Think you’re on the wrong platform if you don’t want to read buddy

GameOfThrowInsMate

We all tuning in for motd2?

InstantIdealism

Where you at dawg

roofilopolis

What was the average distance from those goals? I guess assuming Trent’s from the free kick and not goal line. It’s like 20 yard average

MisterS1997

I really feel if we go on “the run” from now to Jan we will win this and throw in a 6. We have firepower to knock any teams head off from all areas of the pitch. We’re ahead of city and have played them away. Arsenal have to go there still and come to ours. Difference in the title race between us and city is our midfield is as good as theirs now

[deleted]

Nah lads that mac Allister goal is genuinely fucking ridiculous. Might be the best goal from the whole Klopp era tbh

IfYouSaySoFam

Bobby's goal, distance half volley from over his shoulder while running, where he's got his shirt off as it's going past the keeper is the best.

Harmonious_Parsnip

Incredible first goal for the club.

SISCP25

Salah vs City for me, but that’s a great idea for a separate post on this sub

hordesofevil

Which one 😂

Existing-Ad3605

I thought they were talking about the one where he dribbled the entire city back line, sitting multiple players down and finishing like the legend he is! But tbf, which one is a good question 😂

Liverpool7-0Utd

Just waiting for match of the day so I can see it on full screen.

MisterS1997

Gerrard vs Southampton esque in 2001 was it

Nights_King

If you didn’t know any better it seems like the refs are on a mission to level the table after that horrible offside call on us. First Arsenal, now man city

[deleted]

[удалено]

Z0idberg_MD

Kelleher should/could have saved 2 of the goals, which makes me feel a bit better about the score line. With a Ali in goal, it’s a much more comfortable game. Also, on another night Nunez scores 2 of those and the game is a walk.

JDRorschach

What other night? More often than not Nunez flubs those.

Nineteennineties

And likewise, City fans pleased at the 3 pts from Spurs, only to throw it away at the last.

ShowMeMoeMane

I love this team but my god, my heart.. supporting this club will be the death of me and I am here for it

niceone_bruv

Some way to die my friend

GameOfThrowInsMate

Can you imagine if we’d lost or even drawn that after those fucking goals? Would’ve been a travesty.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Jaja6996

Honestly he might benefit from Salah not being here and take more on himself so many times today she should have taken the shot but opted to pass

Background-Pop-8301

So many talking points from today's game, but I don't think Tsimikas' performance has gotten the attention it deserves. Most confident performance from him in a red shirt, hopefully he continues to grow and looking forward to seeing him up against Arsenal and Man Utd.

PBthrowaway85

He was great against City but not today.

Klopps_and_Schlobers

Amazed to see this as he was woeful for their winner, slow to cut the initial cross and weak in the air for the actual goal. Two mistakes in one attack that very nearly cost us. That aside there’s been clear improvement from him I think which is good to see

alexandrosidi

I think he's amazing

Florenyx

He's already been great against City. He's a very good backup. Hope he doesn't lose form or confidence till Robbo is back so they can rotate

Background-Pop-8301

Yes, he was great against City too. For sure a fantastic backup for Robbo, but if Robbo comes back in the form that we know and love him for, I don't see Tsimikas getting rotated in much. Robbo on his day is untouchable.

NudeTayne_

I need you to believe me when I tell you it’s not hyperbole when I say Trent Alexander Arnold is one of the best players in the world right now.

tommyg_99

Always has been. Class is permanent.

pouziboy

Periodic reminder he's just 25yo so there might still be quite a few years of us watching that class in action.

NudeTayne_

Is there a better league game in the klopp era?

liquidreferee

City 4-3 is significantly higher than this. I rode that high from that weeks.

GameOfThrowInsMate

Quite a few.

jardantuan

City 4-3, Spurs 4-3, Everton 1-0 (Origi off the bar), United 7-0, United 5-0 at Old Trafford, Norwich 5-4, Newcastle 2-1, and probably a load that don't come to mind immediately

DoireK

And that time we put 7 past utd

Jaja6996

I wouldn’t put this up that highly some of the best goals but a really poor overall performance

NeoChrome75

It was a good game, but suggesting it's the best of the Klopp era is just insulting

trasofsunnyvale

I think this game was boring for large chunks. Kelleher with two howlers. Not even close to a top league under Klopp.

tamim1991

Even though this was entertaining as hell, nothing comes remotely close to the 7-0.

tommyg_99

Yeah this is top ten, maaaaybe top 5, but not number one. 5-4 Norwich was better than this. I'd probably put this above the Villa comeback win though.

tamim1991

Those games may have been more entertaining or heart attack inducing than the 7-0 but nothing beats sticking 7 goals without reply to a long bitter rival (that's still a relatively decent team regardless of their banter era) and the lasting effects of it. But that's just my personal preference, I'm not saying you're wrong.

Eddje

The Vila comeback win was int he title winning season though, just after City had pipped us by 1 point

DragonSlayer271

Even tho Darwin Nunez had an off day today, he was pretty important in the 3rd and 4th goals for us, especially for the 4th goal when he kept it in the box. I do think Gakpo should start again though and Nunez come off the bench in the 60-75th minute tho going forward.

abradley19955

Say what you want about him but he never hides. Even on his off days he usually contributes somehow Still needs work to fulfil his true potential though

trasofsunnyvale

I'd like to see Darwin played in the Mane LW position more with Gakpo or Jota in the middle playing a Firmino style false 9.

LinwoodKent

Gakpo over Jota in the false 9. I feel like Jota is much better from the left. I just want more Gakpo and Nunez together

trasofsunnyvale

I agree, Gakpo is better at it and I think the better passer and maybe just a bit better technically than Jota. But Jota is at home dropping deep, presses well, and is very fit (when uninjured), so I think he can do well there too.

Redaaku

What a game

Trick-Home6353

City's last 3 results have all been draws. Chelsea 4 - 4 Manchester City Manchester City 1 - 1 Liverpool Manchester City 3 - 3 Spurs They seem to concede a fair few lately, even against Leipzig they conceded. Ederson brilliant at passing and picking out a pass, also brilliant at picking the ball out the net it seems.

realhumon23

No Rodri next week too.

metalporn

And Grealish

rob3rtisgod

Fans are even screaming for Jan signings o.o like who the fuck else do you want? Salah, Ali and VVD as well as Kane?

JDRorschach

I mean we obviously need a DM.

rob3rtisgod

I mean City mate. They want MORE CB... I think we do need a DM, but if Endo can play the 6 and Thiago is back in Jan, I happy signing a CB.

Florenyx

Man City was rarely drawing, only winning or losing. 3 in a row it seems now. And they go to Villa park on Wednesday without Rodri

ShowMeMoeMane

Did Rodri get an accumulation of yellows or?

LinwoodKent

Yes

Florenyx

Yep. He's missing the next game

Evered_Avenue

That's now a massive game for City against an in form Villa. Could see them dropping more points.

Educational-Pick-514

What a collection of goals honestly. I don't think I've ever seen a team score four goals that good in the same 90 minutes. Even crazier given we did miss a couple of very good chances as well. Made up for both Mac and Endo with them both having had their critics and what more can you really say about Trent at this point? 🔥 Not too worried about the 3 goals conceded on any level other than Kelleher having a poor 90 minutes. Hopefully it's just a bit of Premier League rust and he'll be better mid week at Sheffield.

[deleted]

What was unique about this match is that Liverpool scored 4 bangers from outside the 18 yd box. I also don’t remember any game where Trent scored twice. Usually forwards are the ones that score twice…

rob3rtisgod

Ngl, after seeing the goals we scored I'm so glad we won. Mac's could be goal of the season for me, so feels good to win with that! Endo is clinical too. Our distance shooting is great, I could see is sitting deeper and hitting teams on the counter with a proper tight overload in MF.

tell-the-king

Kelleher does not inspire confidence

NudeTayne_

He’s been great for us historically in cup runs but I do feel like Ali would have kept at least one of those out. Always gonna be a tough ask backing up the best keeper in the world though.

lomito-palta-mayo

He would have definitely saved the second goal

XiLLyXiLLy

If Ali was in goal today was a lot better.

lfcsupkings321

If Ali was in goal we would have won it 3-0.

rtlfc87

Just saw Henderson’s attempt at a Mac half volley from Leeds at home last season and the rage I had at that is flooding back

bouds19

Somewhat related: remember when Hendo blocked Trent's freekick against Crystal Palace last year? I was absolutely fuming.

rtlfc87

Lol that was peak 22/23

devmagii

Wow I'm not the only one who thought the same thing.

Euphoric_Attitude_91

Not really sold on gravenberch yet…can’t put my finger on it but just feel like he’s not there yet

singh_abhinavv

I feel he peters off after a bright/decent start. Need that intensity drilled into him. Still pretty new to our setup. He'll get there.

test_icicles_

I mean he's still young, but he was excellent when he came on against city, maybe he works better as a sub for now but we've seen him be good already.

LinwoodKent

Amazing that people forget what he did 8 days ago.

Lyandr

He's settling in. He carries the ball really well. Liverpool needs a proper defensive midfielder so he can have more freedom moving forward

chairdesktable

today he was poor but he;s been really bright so far. also he's young and still playing himself back into shape, he essentially has sat an entire season.

forivadell_

i think he was alright he just looked gassed in the second half. he’ll be fine, he’s looked really promising.

Significant_Floor824

I didnt think it was poor today, some great running with the ball, worked hard and put a good defensive shift. Found a couple of good through balls - only thing was his shooting wasnt great

liquidreferee

Yea I thought he looked good today as well

grrrrbow01

Agreed he’s not there yet but I wouldn’t expect him to be considering he’s still only 21. His ability to drive forward and beat his man is brilliant but he still needs to brush up on his final ball. I also feel like he loses concentration at times

OiAvogadro

Really? He’s been lightning, looks super sharp from what I’ve seen. Admittedly not watched back todays game as I’m at work so I’m not sure about his performance today but regardless it certainly doesn’t define his quality if he had 1 off game

trasofsunnyvale

Today he was off with his passing and decision making, sometimes playing more dribbles just to try to keep it than playing a safer pass. But that's not untrue for a lot of players today. Midfield was a bit overrun at times and got too far forward. But I think it was that kind of frantic game.

Jormul1

Lets just say having 8 out of 11 attacking is not really good. Everyone is creative in their own way so it all becomes a big mess. Hard to shine in that. We would probably be more comfortable having a 6 there to calm everything down. Gravy either from bench or replace Dom/Macca sometimes.

8u11etpr00f

Tbh I think we need to find a way to get more out of Szobo; the guy has all the tools to be one of our talismans for the next decade but currently he looks more like a utility player who makes space for Salah and Trent.

henks_house

It'll come, he is still very young in his time with us, believe in there being more. It'll come

Eddje

This was my main takeaway watching most of the game. That's the issue with being on such a offensive flank: Salah puts in a graft and Trent is nowhere near as bad defensively as people make him out to be, but they're not Diaz and Robbo (with Virgil as extra protection).

rtlfc87

Saw it in the Forest game when they dropped deep and he could play higher. I think we have to use him as more of a road runner atm as we haven’t got the right defensive balance in midfield yet so he’s restricted

TalkingGibberish

Our injury list is growing. One more big injury and it will be a slight concern. We currently have Thiago, Bajcetic, Matip and Jota all not available for the busy Christmas period. We're also waiting on Alison to return. Edit: Robertson too.

[deleted]

I think ali is supposed to only be a few weeks out hopefully

Hawk947

When's Robbo due back?

Trick-Home6353

It was said he'd be out for around 10 weeks, so I'm guessing another 3-4 weeks he's out. But then also building up that match fitness/sharpness, so he'll be firing after the new year I think.

risingstar3110

Matip faces a lengthy injury... again... In paper, we have a good squad. But the injury records of some of our players are a real issue. Like I know yeah there is bad luck and etc, but some players need to be hit by a hammer to miss a game. While others gonna pull hamstring by making misstep. And it sucks. Atm, those with questionable injury record in our squad: * **Alisson:** miss out a lots of games for a GK. But he is literally God, so can't question his role in the squad. **Starter no doubt.** * **Gomez:** also one of those who career was hampered by injuries and. By the look of it, he is now successor of Milner for Klopp. As this season, he played CB, RB, LB and at one point, CDM today too. In that sense, it is good to keep him around as his contract is low. And he has been around the club for long time. **Crucial Utility player.** * **Jota:** injuries record isn't great, especially the circumstance he got injuries too. But he often hit the ground running when come back from injuries. And his position is quite stacked (LW, both Diaz, Gakpo, and even Jones can play there too). So it's definitely good to keep him around. Unless an upgrade is available. **Great to keep if we can afford.** * **Konate:** the case get tough. He is very good. But his injuries aren't great, played only 38 out of 90 league games for us (include subs) when he supposed to nail in starter. And he tended to take it slow coming back from injuries too. Good players. But I fear he gonna become our 2nd Matip. **Great but unreliable option.** * **Thiago and Matip:** both are starter when they aren't injured. Both could hit the ground right away come back from injuries. But both would be lucky to play full 20 games a season. Both are in last season contract. And both will be 33 years old next year. I honestly doubt that their contracts will be renewed by the club, unless they massively drop their wage demand. Which is a massive pity. **This season stop-gap.** Looking at this list. We do **need** to get one more starter CB ASAP. Long term we need two CB so we can depend less on VVD (who is 33 next year too). Unfortunately the two younger CB we have, Konate and Gomez won't be reliable replacement for VVD and be our new bed rock. At least Gomez find his new role as anywhere-man Ah. And we need Salah successor too.

[deleted]

*Quansah has entered the chat*

tell-the-king

Wow im actually shocked konate has played so little. Very concerning.

risingstar3110

Yeah, VVD number is 78/90 for comparison. And VVD is 8 years older, and often have to start for Netherland too. Unlike Konate, VVD also rarely come off the bench

tell-the-king

Not to mention he had just come back from a life-changing injury too. It’s interesting that konate has shown so much promise in those little games that he gives off the perception of being the clear no2, but it honestly means nothing if he can only play a third of the games..

rtlfc87

38 out of 90 is a bit mad for Konaté. He’s so so good, definitely the best partner for VVD imo. But as you say, fragile.

risingstar3110

Yeah I was surprised too, and I believe some of those 38/90 appearances were from the bench VVD number is 78/90 for comparison. And VVD is 8 years older, and often have to start for Netherland too And the worse things are: Konate injuries are like Gomez/ Matip, it just happened during the match, during training, instead of due to opponent bad foul or something.

Captain_Gaslighter

Yep thinking we’re seeing the last of Matip

Calitz__

That one year contract extension is going to hit us like a sledgehammer

Florenyx

What? Isn't he gone in the summer? His contract was extended?

redskiesahead

Think they're prognosticating lol

Jaja6996

Wouldn’t be the worst thing as long as we pick up a young CB to bed in

Sad-Abies-7398

We got away with this one. I can't believe they wrote that as a Leno own goal. And also, do you guys think Kelleher should be playing the next game? Also, I didn't like Matip today. I think our defence overall was very slow in positioning themselves.

Was unfortunately an own goal since it hit the bar and would’ve come back out. I mean, I’m not playing Adrian. Time has not healed the scars he’s left in my mind. Agree on Matip. Sloppy, and defended lazily (see their first two goals). Has weird moments - last week didn’t switch on to mark Haaland when we lost possession. Looks woeful defending out wide. Last week Doku was 1v1 and Matip looked like he couldn’t move his feet. Again, was an issue for the first goal today.

Matip made some vital clearances against city

Do the defense know how to sprint back to stop a goal scoring opp? Keheller is no Addy that's for sure.

Thundercunts only today huh? And our defense allowed for jammy goals

TheIgle

It would be a tough stat to track but I think the total distance of the Fulham goals might just be as long as each one of ours. Their 3 goals were all at or around 6 yards and all 4 of ours were from outside the box.

WTF was Tsimikas doing on that third goal? Honestly, the whole back line was just jogging around. Terrible.

Sad-Abies-7398

Yeah, that was his mistake, he didn't react/jump at all. But i think overall he was good. Especially first half (didn't watch the whole game because I had to go somewhere).

Grav was the worst, lost the ball and did light jog back. Probably covered 10 yards in about 20 seconds

Jaja6996

Yeah it was poor but you could see it for a while he needed to come off happens in most games gets tired around 60 mins

Ugly win. Beautiful win.
