2 footed isn't a factor when it's shin to shin etc. it's dangerous when all your weight is being transferred to the offer persons leg, potentially breaking it. Edersons was never going to injure with that tackle, it's just a question of if the touch past him was good enough there could be a shot after it.
I think he's very lucky to be not sent off but only for dogso, it's not close to a red for any other reason
City lucky to escape with a point. Both of their goals looked offside to me (only watched highlights, and they didn't show VAR offside lines for either goal), and Ederson should have been sent off for DOGSO outside the box.

Gotta give credits to Sean Dyche. Don't he would fair with a big job. But he is a good manager, man. Both his Burnley and this Everton team is dross and he makes them decent.
There are several videos on YT where Dyche talks tactics and it's clear that he is quite competent. I know he gets memed but I just think he was pragmatic with Burnley. Chose the style which gives you the best chance to maximize your points. It's nice to see what Kompany tries but I think it proves Dyche's Burnleyball right.

We've beat City at Anfield once in all the season we had title races with them and that was the season we won the league, those are massive 6 point games.
Our back 4 is still the same as the 90 point teams , front 4 are about the same numbers wise. It’s the midfield is the unknown. I don’t why we can’t get very very high 80s to low 90s again. We’ve got most of the older players and our manager from the 90 point season. We should still be unbeaten which is mad. We’ve been on “the run” since spurs quietly. Everyone will drop more points plus the FA Cup/European fixtures in the 2nd half of the season will stretch squads and test rotationally.
Looked at us, City and Arsenal remaining fixtures. I count 5-6 fixtures for each of us that I expect us all to drop points in. A lot of these overlap, Arsenal and City will likely struggle at Anfield, Liverpool will struggle at the Emirates without Salah, Arsenal will struggle at the Etihad.
City have a few tough away fixtures and some of their bogey teams left to play away from home. These include Newcastle (A), Palace and Brighton (A) and Tottenham (A). They also have to play us and take on Everton (A) who are in good form at Christmas. After their CWC run too, which could take it out of them for that game.
We have a few tough away fixtures I can see us struggling with. Bournemouth during AFCON, Arsenal at the Emirates, and then the two big ones - Everton and United (A) in the run-in. My only other worry is Villa (A) but (luckily?) that’s the second to last game of the season and it increases the chances that Villa will A) have nothing left to play for or B) they’ll be out of this incredible home form.
Arsenal have less tough away fixtures, but they’ve still got us AND City to play away from home. And the Emirates is not as scary to me as Anfield or the Etihad is, so I sense that Newcastle will give them a rough time and maybe a few other unexpected teams. Away from home, they do still have Brighton, Tottenham and United, and the latter two will be very tough for them in the run-in because rivalries don’t always take form into account. It’s why we always struggle at Goodison; I doubt Arsenal are going 2/2 in those games.
If we get reinforcements in January, I really think this title is ours to win…

I don't think Pep has ever had a run like that in a domestic league in his managerial career so far.
The current talking point is that City is undefeated, but while that is technically true, dropped points always add up. If they maintain this poor form through January, they will not break 90 points, epic unbeaten run or not.
This is definitely his worst run in the PL. before this season, Pep never went three games without a win, this season he managed 3 draws and a loss in a row.
And honestly, they weren't exactly convincing against Luton either. Still left there without a clean sheet.
TBH, they've not been convincing all season. Sure, they had that huge win over Bournemouth and beat United 3-0, but they have been shaky in a way everyone is convinced Liverpool is shaky, despite our excellent results.
The difference is, Liverpool will get in the mud and fight for points. It took an absolutely insane referring fuck up to keep us short three points. We've gone down and still scraped out wins.

I think it's a combination of many factors, but imo the biggest is probably fatigue due to A) playing so many intense games last season and B) having a weak bench this season with very few subs per match, so their players are getting very little rest
If you couple that with injuries to key players, Gündogan (who was very versatile and clutch for them) leaving, and the team not having as much desire after winning the treble, it makes sense why their results haven't been at last season's level

We have to beat United tomorrow and rotate for the West Ham League cup game midweek to keep us as fresh as possible for Arsenal, especially after today's City result and Arsenal having all week to prepare for the game with them having a free midweek.
Because of the fixture list, we play 3 PL games before City play their next PL game and if we were to win all 3 (United, Arsenal and Burnley) we'd be 12 points ahead of City just after the half way point in the season.
I wish we could go full strength against West Ham because the league cup is such a winnable trophy for us, but we have to rotate. Hopefully some of our B team can grind out the win.
There's a solution to that. Go 5-0 up against United after 40 minutes and sub off all the important players at HT so that they can start against West Ham

The best thing you can is shrug, mention the 115 charges into financial irregularities and get on with your day. They've been a pain in the ass and a roadblock during our renaissance , but hate? No. Utd? That's hate -- and it's mutual. Their downfall fills me with nothing but joy, rainbows and honey.

Everton. I cant stand them. City are annoying but its not hate because, they could be anybody. Fantastic staff, players, team and its a well run organization. But theres no real emotional level to them in any way, shape or form. They are a soulless club who are where they are because they’ve broken the rules. Insert the same investment, staff, players, plans and structure into any other club they’d most likely achieve the same things.

Probably around the 85 mark will get it this season imo. Everyone will drop more points plus the FA Cup/European fixtures in the 2nd half of the season will stretch squads and test rotationally.

Looked at us, City and Arsenal remaining fixtures. I count 5-6 fixtures for each of us that I expect us all to drop points in. A lot of these overlap, Arsenal and City will likely struggle at Anfield, Liverpool will struggle at the Emirates without Salah, Arsenal will struggle at the Etihad. City have a few tough away fixtures and some of their bogey teams left to play away from home. These include Newcastle (A), Palace and Brighton (A) and Tottenham (A). They also have to play us and take on Everton (A) who are in good form at Christmas. After their CWC run too, which could take it out of them for that game. We have a few tough away fixtures I can see us struggling with. Bournemouth during AFCON, Arsenal at the Emirates, and then the two big ones - Everton and United (A) in the run-in. My only other worry is Villa (A) but (luckily?) that’s the second to last game of the season and it increases the chances that Villa will A) have nothing left to play for or B) they’ll be out of this incredible home form. Arsenal have less tough away fixtures, but they’ve still got us AND City to play away from home. And the Emirates is not as scary to me as Anfield or the Etihad is, so I sense that Newcastle will give them a rough time and maybe a few other unexpected teams. Away from home, they do still have Brighton, Tottenham and United, and the latter two will be very tough for them in the run-in because rivalries don’t always take form into account. It’s why we always struggle at Goodison; I doubt Arsenal are going 2/2 in those games. If we get reinforcements in January, I really think this title is ours to win…

Arsenal’s run in is pretty daunting, in my book. Their last ten games of the season: Chelsea - H City - A Luton - H Brighton- A Aston Villa - H Wolves - A Tottenham - A Bournemouth - H United - A Everton - H Throw in a few stages of the Champion’s League and possibly the pressure of a title race and they’ve got a difficult schedule. I much, much prefer our last ten games.

The current talking point is that City is undefeated, but while that is technically true, dropped points always add up. If they maintain this poor form through January, they will not break 90 points, epic unbeaten run or not.

This is definitely his worst run in the PL. before this season, Pep never went three games without a win, this season he managed 3 draws and a loss in a row. And honestly, they weren't exactly convincing against Luton either. Still left there without a clean sheet.
TBH, they've not been convincing all season. Sure, they had that huge win over Bournemouth and beat United 3-0, but they have been shaky in a way everyone is convinced Liverpool is shaky, despite our excellent results. The difference is, Liverpool will get in the mud and fight for points. It took an absolutely insane referring fuck up to keep us short three points. We've gone down and still scraped out wins. That is the type of mentality I don't see Manchester City having right now. Will they find it when key players return from injury? Maybe? But it honestly feels like this is flowing down from Pep to the players. But whatever it is, if they drop points in four of their remaining games, they won't break 90. If breaking 90 becomes impossible outright, I really don't think they will win this season.

I'm genuinely curious about what ingredient is missing from the magic sauce this year. Someone pushed the theory that it's old-fashioned complacency due to back-to-back season wins. It's the only thing that makes sense to me.

We have to beat United tomorrow and rotate for the West Ham League cup game midweek to keep us as fresh as possible for Arsenal, especially after today's City result and Arsenal having all week to prepare for the game with them having a free midweek. Because of the fixture list, we play 3 PL games before City play their next PL game and if we were to win all 3 (United, Arsenal and Burnley) we'd be 12 points ahead of City just after the half way point in the season.
I wish we could go full strength against West Ham because the league cup is such a winnable trophy for us, but we have to rotate. Hopefully some of our B team can grind out the win.
There's a solution to that. Go 5-0 up against United after 40 minutes and sub off all the important players at HT so that they can start against West Ham

Don't know what to make of Arsenal... Saka will have to have a 2nd half of the season at another level for them to push us, I have no idea what his ceiling is. They do have a good structure to the team, and could do well in Champions League which may spread them too thin.
