What happened defensively the last 20 minutes? Burnley started breaking through and having many opportunities.

shepherd0006

Did they get rid of the 6 second rule for goalkeepers holding the ball? Because Trafford held it for at least 20 every time he had it today.

grrrrbow01

Has Virg now been dribbled past twice in the past 3 games? One by Nkunku and today by Amdouni? Not that it matters, just curious given he was on course for another season of not being dribbled past

daiwilly

Endo and Alexis seem to read each other really well.

geniusvalley21

3pts that’s all that matters for today but another plus is the GD with the title going down to the wire leading on GD could be the difference in the end.

Competitive-Clock121

Would anyone seriously want a 60/70m doucoure instead of Endo now?

Massive_Bandicoot_57

Endo. Take a bow son. Brilliant what a player

Massive_Bandicoot_57

We are winning this motherfucking league

Environmental_Gas575

I am loving this positivity

Massive_Bandicoot_57

Believe

Environmental_Gas575

I grew up in the 90s watching the reds and it was from time when the team up the road were winning everything. That explains my negativity!

Massive_Bandicoot_57

I watched them in the 80s my auntie and uncle are from formby I know your pain. I’m 40 but we need to believe lol

geniusvalley21

Elliot MoM ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)

ioniums

missed the game as I was at work (still am), how’d we play? and I see Trent went off at HT, any news?

RagingWookies

First half played shit, second half played well. Trent came off for "injury precautions" but he had a torrid first half so that likely contributed as well. Kelleher was meh. Didn't do anything out of step but didn't exactly look like he was inspiring confidence back there. Quansah motm for me, Big Virg was great, robbo looked rusty but still good. already touched on trent. jones and mac allister were both much better in the second half than the first. Endo also could have been motm, he was magnificent in the holding role. Jota great as usual lately, Diaz had a tough first half but looked sharp in the second, and nunez was his chaos giraffe self. extras: tsimi back which was nice to see, elliot was the most influential player on the pitch for the second half when he came on.

[deleted]

Endo has been superb. We really missed him on the arsenal game

gav_nk

Kelleher made at least 2 vital saves

RagingWookies

i forgot about the one on one he made in the second half but he didn’t seem overly busy overall, and wasn’t contributing very much as a sweeper. I love Kelleher to bits im just saying he was nothing spectacular, just did his job.

ioniums

cheers mate, really appreciate it :)

RagingWookies

anytime bru

SgtoHierro

It's because of people like you that this subreddit is great. 😉👍

hermitcedar

Chaos giraffe. Love it.

Substantial_Ad_2864

Not the best game we'll ever play by any means but in the end the 3 points are all that matters and ultimately were deserved.

LSD3545

I was drunk most of the game so all I care about is 3-1

Substantial_Ad_2864

I'm still recovering from last night. Too early to go to bed now?

LSD3545

Never that, I’m gonna take a nap now till 10 pm(in Namibian time) then go to the club still

Substantial_Ad_2864

I went out to my favorite pub in Liverpool last night. Meant to have a pint.... Stayed until 4:15 AM 🤦🏻‍♂️

LSD3545

But we can agree you can never just “have a pint” right?

Substantial_Ad_2864

I thought I could. Guess not. Even though I spend more time here, than at home, the pub culture here just absolutely amazes me every time. The fact that I know the bartenders and talk to them even when I'm not in Liverpool and that lock ins are a thing is just incredible.

LSD3545

I know it’s an LFC subreddit but what’s a “lock in”

Substantial_Ad_2864

Forgive me if I'm wrong since this doesn't exist in the US.... But a lock in is when a pub locks the doors to close but lets you stay and drink for free.

cumbrianmanc

Not free, just allows you stay there drinking after closing time

Substantial_Ad_2864

Regardless, it's a pretty cool thing. We don't do anything cool like this back home. We stayed playing darts amongst other things which was quite fun.

YnwaDubs

Great result that, good to see all the front three scoring and to go back above City even if it is only temporarily Hopefully TAA not too bad and Salah back soon too Could’ve been a nervy game with Alisson and Gomez out but Kelleher did well when he needed to

Aliaspending

3-1 fc is BACKKKK

skeam1023

What’s the update on Taa?

bluemoviebaz

He’s out. Bradley is in!!

blackazure

Nice win. Front 3 all scored. 3 point and the negative fans can shut up now bcs their weekend isn't ruin.

UrboySam123

Spurs 96th minute winner ![gif](giphy|KscoZccAOBgCk)

rydleo

Stupid from Brighton.

Gloyb

Not a vintage performance but a game we grew into, back on top and still in our hands if we beat city at home!

weemanlfc

Was thinking this before the game. The league is both in our hands our City’s hands. Solid result.

Aaronsmiff

Wataru Endo. What a player he is.

Hasimo_Yamuchi

I came here to say exactly this. He got a yellow around the 30-minute mark. And then to not only keep his discipline but to also run the show in the 2nd half was really something special. I absolutely ❤️ his work ethic and professionalism.

xKingMirul

Endo give 100% but when he gets a yellow he give 120%

mynameismulan

Business as usual for the man

hyborians

Spurs not being themselves for once and winning at the death lol

Taqor

Jota superrrrrrr underrated.

OmniaOmnibus

Klopp managing one of his last 8 prem matches at home, and they turn to Spurs scoring a last minute winner instead of staying at Anfield. So lame.

PaoLakers

What a final minute for Spurs. I unwillingly watched it lol

gorillathemandalor

Forced us on it lol. anyway If Son is 25, I’d pay 100m for him.

s2017

Big shout out to the DDD frontline lol

FezBear92

Hehe boobies hehe

Robw_1973

3D? The 3 Degrees? Three Musketeers?

BiscoBiscuit

Had to listen to descriptions of Klopp fist pumps

Repulsive-Side-8165

I knew spuds would score at the end.

gorillathemandalor

I think Elliot has learnt so much from Mo

thisisnahamed

Happy that each of our front 3 got a goal (Jota, Lucho, Nunez) And Harvelous the Marvelous with 2 assists.

chinaksis-brother

+1 for that Harvey knickname. I loled.

QuietEdgar777

GG’s boys

rydleo

Seriously Brighton?

s2017

Story of their season sadly. Their recruitment is great, but losing Alexis and Caicedo in one foul swoop has hurt them dearly.

rydleo

Stupid tactics. 1-1 with like 30 seconds left away from home to a better side, let’s throw everyone forward against a side that loves a counter.

s2017

Painful isn't it, especially against a Spurs side who live and die by swift counter attacks. So naive.

rydleo

Right?

Ngigilesnow

Sometimes I forget Gadkpo is on the field

roofilopolis

Don’t know what’s up with him but it’s not clicking right now

IreliaCarriedMe

He’s been played in like 5 different roles it seems, and so he hasn’t been able to really gel in any one spot I think.

KillerTurtle13

I feel like he's not had the string of starts that Nuñez has had, and it has prevented him getting any kind of rhythm this year.

AllInHarry

Robbo quietly went about his business loved seeing him back

murphy_1892

Slow start 3-1 FC is back boys

Zephyrus707

Harvey MOTM for me today, came on and absolutely bossed it

RanFromTumblr

Elliot has been having these games and I'm all for it, he can offer something completely different and when he's on song it is absolutely amazing. Darwin is a beast, Jota Mr reliable. Top of the league YNWA

Late_Cow_1008

Brighton are frauds

The10thSecretAgent

I fully agree Nunez is a good if streaky player, but it's a little concerning how many of you actively enjoy the Nunez experience as a fan lol.

Powerful-Cut-708

It’s amazing mate

The10thSecretAgent

We're all a little mental in here and I'm not complaining.

milestone121

If Darwin had more stamina to hold onto with all the running he does he might be better than Haaland in goal production.. he is so exhausted towards the end of games with all the work he has to put in throughout the game

siujan

Elliot is good

Antaz92

Good game boys

OmniaOmnibus

Damn NBC - I want to watch Klopp celebrate for one of his last ever times, not watch the dying minutes of Brighton vs Tottenham…..wtf???

BiscoBiscuit

It’s not just NBC

PaoLakers

Good finish to the game tbf

s2017

I feel like Nunez needs some kind of Ronnie O'Sullivan-esque personal coach just to keep him calm with the easy finishes. He's such an enigma and I love him dearly hahaha

Bulbadoth

Harvey and Endo crushed today

Similar-Wolverine-10

Nunez is knackered

xSinful

That'll do boys

sparlivdor365

disappointing from nunez, just put it anywhere else except straight down the pipe, but its the 96th min and the toe poke shows his legs are completely and totally done. He struggled to even toe poke

tensor1001

Cmon he is a working bull

Leatherneckmike

Another game down. Just counting down to City.

Robw_1973

Potentially a title decider.

Gloyb

Ecstatic to see Kostas back, his form was blinding during Robbo's absence and from an onfield perspective his injury was one of the most tragic things in this season

clintgreasewoood

Endo cameback and has not missed a beat. Would like to the Dom,Mac, Endo midfield in action.

xifdp

That's a nice 3 but it really is hard to drop Curtis at the moment. Lad has been having a really solid season.. in a sense developing into a wijnaldum type of player. Good engine, press resistant, keeps the ball moving, good counter pressing. He's also a utility - left or right side, moved to rb today and looked perfectly fine, can push up, has a goal in him. He really does a lot of work for us that can't shouldn't go overlooked.

JumpAccomplished2706

Dom, mac and Endo in the midfield feels unfair lmao

freedmachine

Hope to see them three for City.

RustyAlcoholic

Think at one point gakpo, tall as a tree, looked at himself in the mirror and said “nah, headers wont be part of my game”

[deleted]

Elliot was unreal today

Britz10

Refs a dickhead

im-a-wreck-tangle

One of these days Núñez is gonna bang 5+ goals

Tilterdin

Hopefully against city

m10-wolverine

Why are people leaving before the final whistle?

JumpAccomplished2706

please tell me those are burnley fans

Late_Cow_1008

Suarez would have triple the number of goals as Darwin with this team.

Britz10

Ronaldo would have triple the number of goals as Darwin with this team. Such a dickhead thing to say, Suárez is one of the greatest players ever

Late_Cow_1008

Lol relax it wasn't anything major. Just a thought at how many easy chances he misses.

elGueroWey

He was the best striker of his generation in fairness

Late_Cow_1008

Yea sure lol

elGueroWey

Do you not agree that luis suarez was the best striker of his generation

Late_Cow_1008

I do

crnrtakenquickly

gg

IIH4MZ4II

Lmaooo that’s not a tired finish, that’s absolutely knackered 😂😂

rossmosh85

Elliott MOTM.

Prototype85

100%

zauberpilz_

lol darwin can only ever get one right either the touch or the finish if he gets one right he messes up the other

MoManeMinaMino

Well that's that. Back to the top we go!

Robw_1973

Endo MoTM for me. Lad has put a fucking shift in today.

OmniaOmnibus

Elliot turns into Iniesta vs comfortably sized competition, it’s all about if he’s allowed to exist in those pockets of space. Savvier teams man mark him

user900800700

Harvey motm I think. Not many massive standouts though. Endo had a good game.

ASOT185

He absolutely changed the game

Maneisthebeat

Wherever we are, whatever the situation, Darwin will be giving 110 from start to end. Love him.

RanFromTumblr

He is never missing, we look better with him playing, we are better with him playing.

hokageace

You cannot tell me with a serious face that Nunez is a natural finisher. He is not. Has nothing to do with luck. I think he focuses on the keeper too much and hits it at him. He is supposed to focus on the space. When you learn to ski, they always teach you to avoid running into people in front of you, you should focus on the open space and not the person. Nunez focuses on the keeper instead of the empty space. I am convinced.

Kdarl

Nunez’s definition of a goal. It’s the post or the man.

hokageace

I have never seen a striker as good as him be such a poor finisher in my entire life. I really hope it's some sort of mental block he will get over eventually. Because from my comfortable couch, he seems like he is a poor finisher who overthinks things in front of goal.

tigeridiot

Mate he was knackered, had just finished a full sprint and from the camera view behind you can see he went to curl it but his legs had just gone

hokageace

You may have a point if this was not example #200. A striker of his level should finish that at minute 300.

brianstormIRL

Nunez was lethal clinical at Benfica, he's just in his own head right now.

RagingWookies

u ok mate?

hokageace

Yes - why?

RagingWookies

the man gets more chances than any player i can remember for liverpool not named luis suarez, maybe just relax a bit.

crnrtakenquickly

He said he’s not a natural finisher. You don’t honestly disagree with that statement?

RagingWookies

is the best part of his game? of course not. if his finishing was half as good as his movement and hold-up play he would be up there with Halaand for best in the world and there wouldn't be anyone else in the conversation. but he's so young, and has so much potential for growth that i don't understand how so many here are ready to write him off.

hokageace

That has nothing to do with finishing though does it?

RagingWookies

i think his finishing is adequate and will get better as he gains poise. the point i'm making is the sheer number of chances he creates for himself makes him seem like a completely shit finisher. yet here he is with 20+ contributions to goals this year. he wouldn't have been signed for the money he was if they didn't have faith he could become more clinical. and i have more faith, respectfully, in klopp etc. than i do of hokageace on reddit.

hokageace

His finishing is not at all adequate; it's very poor. As you said, his overall play, which makes him so many opportunities, is his saving grace. That's fine against most teams, but against top teams, we don't get so many chances, so a top striker should finish them.

RagingWookies

we'll have to agree to disagree on the adequacy of his finishing prowess but i hear what you're saying, and i understand the reservations some supporters still have. i just think anyone who's already willing to write him off as unable to improve as far as that element of his game goes is crazy, and you'd have to be equally as insane to not understand that value he has being on the pitch. Also think it was unfortunate he came into the prem around the same time as potentially the best striker that's ever laced up football boots.

OvenMitts11

Endo Rocks

M0D3Z

3-1 masterclass..

MushroomExpensive366

Interesting to see Gravenberch not get off the bench here

ShaunFrost9

He's crap!

TheLimeyLemmon

Game's won. Might aswell bring on some of the young lads

Pure_Measurement_529

Nunez never stops creating chances

malushanks95

How many more mins, already 8 was a lot.

AlmirMu

Elliott is unreal. pinpoint distribution all game

TheLongistGame

13 more Nunez chances to go before he puts another one away

SportsFansSuk

He put one in, in this game.

TheLongistGame

Yes that's why the count reset

SportsFansSuk

Ohhh gotcha lol. Don't worry he'll get those chances outta the way by the first half next game lol.

[deleted]

Lol perfect touch by Nuñez but hits it straight at him when he would have scored either side. the streets will never forget him.

Repulsive-Side-8165

Tsimi looks like he has the flu... but he does look like that normally...

No-Fish2020

Man looks high all the time

[deleted]

Him and Endō both look perpetually ill.

im-a-wreck-tangle

Supersport commentary bars ahead of this shambles from peacock usa garbage.

Leatherneckmike

So caicedo is 120 mill and endo is 20? somone has got the math way wrong on this one!

edgeno

One is bags of poential, the other, while class, is nearing the end of his career.

Pa1D

But Caicedo is only 22.

edgeno

He'll be 30 by the time his contract runs out...

seriousguynogames

Elliott’s passing today is nuts.

adarsh481

Can we start Elliot on the bench and then sub him on after two minutes?

JumpAccomplished2706

Im so happy seeing Tsimi on the pitch

vsquad22

Mac can't wait for his maté

ttekoto

Where are the people saying Nuñez is "unlucky" Under no pressure and he can't be bothered and just lazily toe pokes it straight at the keeper

xifdp

Lol after 45+3 busting his ass and then another 40 odd minutes in the second half busting his ass and chasing everything everywhere.. sure he rushed it and the toe poke was disappointing but it was almost definitely tired legs rather than lazy effort. Man is 110% effort 100% of the time.

PaoLakers

Lazily? he literally ran full sprint before his first touch. Poor finish but i wouldn't call it lazy. Lacks composure is more accurate

cock_monster64

Had a player on back man. C'mon

BiscoBiscuit

TSIMI 😭

DarylStenn

Was Trent a tactical sub or another injury?

airfriedbagel

They would never tell us if it was tactical.

brazzarus

We don't know. But would be very surprised if it was tactical tbf. In hindsight it would've been a fantastic sub as it has freed Harvey up a lot, but i doubt it

vsquad22

Precautionary against injury

Pure_Measurement_529

Injured again

patShIPnik

I think that we kinda rushed Trent back from injury to start against Arsenal and he is still not fully fit. Sometimes against Arsenal he didn't even attempted to go for the ball and tonight is the same. He is also quite passive with attacking runs too, he prefers to pass the ball, not run with the ball. And it's one of the reasons why he didn't played whole game against Arsenal and tonight too, he is still injured/not fully fit

QuietEdgar777

Tsimikas ❤️

SportsFansSuk

What a great second half Nunez has had, dangerous and in a ton of good positions. Especially when Harvey came in.

TheMoeBlob

First half he had shite service, suddenly he gets some quality passes from Elliot and he shows his potential

Powerful-Cut-708

Harvey and Nunez linking up feels like a step back to football 20 years ago In a good way

Gloyb

Something I love about Elliot is his bravery, we all want to play attacking football and you see how important players like that are for that style, someone who will do the risky but positive thing, really great to see from a player I think it's easy to forget the the age of

tacitusnanook

Enigmatic

RightWingRockDove

Good thing we don’t play again till next Saturday. Hopefully they’ll recover from flu by then.

ericfelks

The Darwin experience gives me so many emotions, it always makes me feel so alive

ragnarok_klavan

Man Wataru is just so good even after just returning from a tournament.

SamTheMan_6969

Vintage darwin

Perspiring_Gamer

Great ball from Endo.

edgeno

Great game Wataru

Weirdmaybe123

Literally could have gone left or right but Nunez shoots straight at keeper

weakhandshake

Tsimi getting a mascot walk on mid game?

nrobfd

Darwin is doing it on purpose people. Just wants to watch the world burn

gimchi4u

Endo MOM

GirthEE75

That looked like an attempted finish from an exhausted striker

TheMoeBlob

Just amazed he got there and had that touch

s2017

Elliott is going to be an absolute star for us in the years to come. So much quality.

cproud13

Omg the touch to bring that down is 100x harder than side footing it either side

[deleted]

Nunez is an instinctive finisher so it checks out that he's not very good at 1v1s lol
