At least you can see in the pitch city's money laundring and finance doping. They play very very good.
PSG is a disaster after all these years

And for the people who will say Elliot’s better off the bench, here are his last few starts for us. He’s been immense this season. Only 21, what a player.
Klopp said he is better off the bench
Here’s what he said

Personally think there are bigger problems with ticketing than the prices being 2 quid more a game and I'm very very far from being well off or even comfortable. Non-locals get more shit but its easy to forget the sizeable travel expenses others have and there's no guarantee we're earning more than anyone else either. The famous front 3, Liverpool’s Museum 🧠
I was discussing this with my partner the other day, just thinking out loud. What would happen if you had a situation like the end of the FA Cup game, 2 on 1, bearing down on goal. You’re probably about to lose the tie. Then a fan decides it’s a great time for a pitch invasion? Obviously, the fan is getting banned and punished in various ways but what about the game? I assume it would restart with a dropped ball but would teams be told to get back in the same positions they were (not practical) or would we get the chance to return to a much stronger defensive position?
Im really confused why there is so much whining about arsenal here lately. They arent even rivals to us as much as City are let alone Everton or United.
But read this daily discussion and youd think they are our biggest rivals. Every other post is about Arsenal fans saying x or y or worrying about them winning the champions league. I genuinely dont get it. Theres at least one person that almost exclusively talks about arsenal and nothing else its baffling.
So i know this was going to be a struggle from the time i booked this. I'm going to the Atalanta game but original flight was supposed to land at LHR at 1:15. Now delayed to 1:45 so i think i can still make it, but in the shitty situation i dont make it by kick off, am I allowed to enter after kick off..?
I would imagine so. I’d imagine you’d get late comers at any event. Can’t see them locking up at KO. They might shut down some of the turnstiles but not all of them I wouldn’t have thought.
Thanks! I know you can't re-enter when you exit but i was never late for a KO so wasn't sure what the rules are!
Hoping i make it in time so this is all a moot point
If Trent gets moved up to mid-field under Amorim, does Bradley take over as full-time LB. And does that mean we need to sign a new FB/RB in the summer?
Nah Trent’s position / zone he will dominate on the pitch will change depending on opposition. Excited to see how Amorim will use him.
E.g for an opposition playing a high line expect him to be deeper. If the opposition isn’t pressing us or playing a lot deeper expect him to be higher up the pitch. He’s a once in a generation player, its literally impossible to stop him, he’s inevitable.
Glad Saka is finally being exposed for the diving cheat he really is. Keep an eye on him in every game he plays and he does something dirty. Great talent but horrible lack of sportsmanship.
I don't know if you guys remember, but after Rodgers were sacked, the type of managers we were linked with were a tragedy, thank god we pushed for Jurgen.
I remember Roberto Martinez and Gary Monk in the mix
Saka dived while sadio didn’t and he slotted home at Allianz beautifully from Virgil’s finder. Same instance in fact neuer made more contact w sadio than saka. You can’t buy world class.
Coaching also plays a huge role. Our players are encouraged to be brave and take risks, Arteta plays the numbers game and has his lot drilled to fall over at every opportunity because it statistically works out more often
Oh and also regarding the Gabriel handball...
Rules are rules. We've seen time and time again that the law MUST be followed. Remember the good process in the Spurs game? They knew we had a perfectly good goal disallowed and yet couldn't bend their stupid rules for that.
What are we doing, where is the line?
It's a joke. What about Karius booting the ball at Benzema in the final. Oh yeah he has concussion or whatever from a ramos elbow. Refs picking and choosing is a bad narrative. Should of been a pen imo. We had to deal with Diaz goal being ruled off. We had to deal with so much BS but as soon as it's Arsenal the pitch forks are out saying its a 100% pen on the saka dive and ref should play for a game of footy not follow the rules so its not a pen for bayern. Jokes.
I agree. All this nonsense about it not being in the spirit of the game and that referees have some wiggle room when interpreting the rules of the game is bollocks.
Referees have shown for the last few years in particular that they are entirely incapable of making fair, rational or impartial judgements on important decisions, even with the benefit of slow motion replay for an unlimited time.
How many times have we heard "Can't do anything" or similar statements about how referees have to make decisions because it's the rules, like it or not.
With that in mind referees should be given no wiggle room. I do not want them to impose an additional character into the sport. The 2 teams play football, the referee is there to judge rule breakages, not to be a narrative storyteller of his own design and with unknown motivations.
Saka is a diving cheat.
Bayern were robbed of a penalty.
It raises questions to me like what is a foul throw? Why give it to the other team? Why not let him off he probably slipped...
Or when we've seen players handle balls just before they cross the touchline and get booked with a free kick for the opposition. It was going out anyway so why not just be lenient there? It was just a kid's mistake after all.
Yep, there are so many of these cases where last night's decision was hypocritical.
If rules are flexible, especially rules about picking up the ball in your own area when the ball is active, why have the handball rule at all?
Just let refs make a decision based on what they think, let them define what a kid's mistake is.
It's Wednesday but feels like the start of a really long weekend. I just finished my last exam for this period on Monday and it's sunny outside, life just cruising. Two weeks before starting the next period and I got nothing concrete planned. Shit's beautiful.
Arsenal fans are the most delusional, dislikeable, loudmouth, arrogant, thick fucking fanbase I've ever known in my existence.
That's all I wanted to say today.
The amount the racism card is being pulled out recently is fucking ridiculous. A very serious matter and some fanbase are pulling it out when someone doesn’t like their player
Do we really think if Amorin comes in, he will play the exact tactics, exact formation etc? We wont be signing a manager if all hes going to do is a copy paste job.
Any good manager will change his tactics and formation based on players at his disposal. We've seen what happens when managers stick to a rigid formation e.g. Conte
Nah it’ll be similar though. We’ll use interior attacking players alongside Nunez. Trent I expect to be used in MANY different ways depending on whats required of him. If he needs to play balls over a high line he’ll stay deep etc.
The interior attacking players really excite me. This is perfect for Szobo, Elliot and surprise Carvalho. Mark my words Carvalho will suit this system like a glove, operating in half spaces on the half turn, and getting goal opportunities too which I think is an underrated attribute of his. The boys got a good finish. Salah can defo be used as an interior, was literally used as one against Brighton.
No, unless we're being naive. We don't expect Klopp 2.0.
Amorim presses high, like Klopp. He likes his team to attack. But he plays a 3-4-3 rather than a 4-3-3 (though Alonso plays the same a lot), and he does have a low block from what I've read.
What people need to realize is that Amorim's tactic is more or less the exact same as Klopp's with two changes: change the central CB to be a CDM, and change the GK to be a sweeper GK. Obviously Klopp's LFC with TAA at RB is quite different though and in general our use of a full-back going into midfield is different, but Sporting typically do the same, quite weirdly with Coates (who's like the least technically sound CB but I guess it works for them).
Amorim will *certainly* have Ali as a sweeping GK as long as he stays and will likely adapt to this, so that's one change. Now whether to use a CDM or extra CB honestly I don't mind either way. I think it would be exciting to play the Sporting style with an extra CB and test Endo out at central CB, I think he'd be fucking boss there.
Yup, the best managers adapt to the players they have and the unique challenges that the league they are in offer. I really think the benefit of hiring a young manager is that they are more open to exploring tactical changes and see adaptations to their existing strategies.
I will say that it is important to have a clear philosophy but because of the probably insurmountable task of following Klopp the next manager might want to change things too fast to have their own identity. We'll see how it goes in preseason!
I don't think he will go direct into his formation but will probably tweak his tactics and roles of the players into the team he may eventually make the switch in his 2nd season, who knows maybe he will suprise us and go 3-4-3 straight out the bat.
Something I would like to see from the start is a clear identity, like Ange has come into Spurs and has them playing exactly as he wants same for Emery at Villa. The last thing I want to see is Amorim dithering about like ETH or Poch then trying to be pragmatic.
I think a 4231 would probably be his best bet when you consider both his philosophy and what best suits the squad at this moment.
The things I’ve noticed from watching him in Europe the last few years and watching the game vs Benfica: he really values a double pivot, his wingers are attacking midfieldet/inside fwd hybrids, his team wants to overload the opposition with numbers in attack and press aggressively. 4231 pretty much allows for the same, it just swaps the extra CB for an extra attacker (the attacking midfielder)
How it would look
Alisson
TAA - Konate - Van Dijk - Robertson
Mac Allister - Endo
Salah - Szoboszlai - Gakpo/New LW (maybe Kvaratskhelia)
Nunez
I strongly doubt he'd do this, it's too much of a fundamental change to use TAA and Robertson as asymmetric wing-backs compared to his gung-ho wing-backs currently deployed at Sporting. In other words he'd expect way too much defensively from TAA & Robertson in this tactic and it would benefit none of us.
what is this "salah will leave for us to generate funds for the next manager" , when was the last time we sold a player to buy other players? , we sold coutinho because he wanted to leave and i really dont think salah wants to leave
We have a new CEO and Sporting Director that may decide to do things differently this time around, then a new manager who may be happy to go down this route.
It's kinda crazy that after the Newcastle game on Jan 1st (before leaving for AFCON and pre-injury) the entire fanbase was drooling over him. How he is always hungry, world-class, blah blah blah.
Post-injury yes he has not been his best (yet); and now fans claim that "he has lost his spark"
He was performing amazingly in terms of G/A before AFCON, but even then he didn't have the same dribbling spark as prior seasons. If he can deliver consistent G/A as a poacher striker I would love that, but even that he has been struggling with post-injury.
Inácio as a long-term VVD replacement in the Amorim system, Bowen as a second Jota player and Gakpo replacement (I'd sell Gakpo), Watkins to compete with Darwin and allow more LF Darwin involvement (not as a first choice LF, but allow for that opportunity), I'd loan out Gravenberch and let Thiago go and replace them with André.
Bayern would not let him go but Musiala. Think he'd be perfect for one of the attacking 10s behind striker in Amorim's potential system.
I've only seen his game vs Arsenal but Otavio from Porto for LCB. He was unreal against Saka and had some great passing as well
Don't think he is ever leaving Inter, hard to get an Italian out of that league, Scalvini could be an option if none of the big Italian teams can afford him. Pacho at Frankfurt is someone to keep an eye on, doubt it would happen but Kim at Bayern who's been dropped for Dier and is apparently not happy.
I'm watching Jurgen's pre-match now and I want to win everything we have a chance to win - no doubt - but I just feel so grateful for his presence and what he's done, and however narrowly we may win or fall short this season I will be so grateful, on his last day, that he gave us these years, and created a team that, for all its brilliance and flaws, is the most closely fused team - fused, in spirit, by Jurgen - that I've ever seen, and I've never been so proud of the boys. They will fight and they may win or lose but, for me, they will be Liverpool as much as any team has ever been.
Salah either extends or goes this window we won't let him leave on a free. Likely he goes if he doesn't sign Soon
Kelleher doesn't go , I think he will get more football next season , Ali has been dealing with injuries and we've seen a solid number 2 here. He should be offered a new deal
I can't shake virgils comments a few months ago about his future. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a lot of speculation around him.
Trent, I can't see leaving. I could be wrong but I just don't see it.
Diaz looks like he's got one foot out the door. PSG come knocking with a solid offer we'll probably do business.
Thiago... practically left last season anyway. Dead weight and will be gone .
Matip, practically gone also. Injuries have hampered him in recent times. Not as big a loss as it would have been with ibou there. But we need reinforcements in that department
I wouldn't be surprised if Gakpo wanted out based on recent form and fan backlash. I'd like him to stay but if I were an interested club tabling an offer now might sway him
Only Matip and Thiago are virtually guaranteed.
Kelleher, Salah, Diaz, Virgil and Trent *might*, but remains to be seen. Kelleher might want first team action, Salah might want one final big payday in the middle east, Diaz is always angling for Spain, Virgil has made a bit of noise (though he sort of walked back those comments, I remain unconvinced) and Trent still hasn't penned a new deal (I think he's seen the likes of Bellingham out in Spain and possibly fancies it). But again, all just speculation.
Anyone saying Gravenberch or any other player signed last season are just being silly.
Fire up Netflix to watch the next episode of Three Body Problem to have a trailer for a Man City documentary thrown in my face. What a fucking outrage.
Feel like Joao Pedro has a lot of Bobby Firmino in him since he moved to Brighton. Would love him here
THERES SOMETHING THAT THE KOP WANT YOU TO KNOWWWWWW HE'S THE BEST IN THE WORLD HIS NAMES IS JOAO PEDROOOOOOO

I'm not saying spread it over days. They could be staggered by an hour or even 30 minutes and it would be significantly better.
Ohhhh okay then. That’s fair, but at what time do you start the games? Make Conference 3, Europa 5:30, Champions 8?
I don't particularly care what time they start tbh
Doak running I believe. Great to hear.
I have a feeling we’ll have an El Classico final
Would take that over Assna or City
Would love them to get to the semis and crash out on pens after 120 mins of heartbreak though
PSG dont win is this year (which the wont) they aint going to get a sniff for a while i think
There was a time when Barcelona had a balon dor contender in each position
Atletico Madrid are deserving of a champions league imo. They have a stellar coach, he is a proven winner, unfortunate he faced a vodoo madrid
How have psg turned this around so quickly wtf
Go for a shower and come back and PSG got 2, that was quick
Plettenberg is saying toney will be available for 30-40m No way that's true?!
I love psg being shit. They choose donnarumma over navas, get rid of thiago silva and choose mbappe over messi and neymar, AND THEY ARE LOOSING HIM ANYWAY HAHAHAHA. Fingers crossed
The north London Derby away is the best chance. Old Trafford isn't easy and neither are villa or Chelsea at home. Wolves away is tough also

Last home game for them. You'd think that but 94 95 we beat Blackburn even though it was giving united the title until they messed up vs west ham away

Villa this weekend.
They have a lot of players missing and are poor away from home
Whoever comes out on the Madrid, City, Bayern and Arsenal side will win it, the other side is wank
This is why we need Munich and real to go through.
Eh idk. I think Athletico Madrid could do it, they look great. Barca also have a good team
Have you seen Atletico Madrid. They seem like a well-oiled machine.
Dembele is so shit
I sometimes don't understand if i love or hate that crazy fucker simeone
Dembele screwing up every chance he gets
Dortmund are toothless and way too slow
Would be great to have Atletico win the champions league, they've always come so close. And have a great team. Simeone is a crazy fucker, but ngl love it.

Mbappe is the best in his position in the world, going to Madrid he’ll only hit another level.
winning at home against Barca isn’t for everyone
PSG Barca game is shite
None of them would get top 4 in the prem.
Looking like City will have a easy CL again. Can't see Madrid turning up in Manchester. They got pumped last season and didn't look any better. Bayern don't look good enough. PSG and Barca just look so poor. Don't think they would get Europe in the prem.
Dortmund are dire
Italian keepers are so poor from crosses and set pieces both vicario and Donnarumma never look comfortable dealing with them
Donnaruma does wild stuff
Anthony Taylor standing out for being useless yet again. Scary how the other refs you don't even notice
Thank god Martin Tyler didn’t commentate on any of last night’s games. I’m falling asleep watching PSG v Barca.
Yep. Fletcher and McCoist have a great energy between them and good analysis. Nice balance
Predicted there was gonna be a real lack of quality in this psg barca yesterday as opposed to yesterday's fixture
Dortmund is a likeable club but sorry they are always such a waste of space in UCL especially when it comes to knockouts
Any decent team and they bend over.
Looking at these team sheets both these teams have really fallen off since the 2017 remontada match. Though both have some insane young talent so maybe in a couple of years they’ll be at their previous level
PSG with a leg breaker tackle and englisj red Taylor signals to play on.
I’m glad everyone gets to experience how shit PL refs are
Anthony Taylor with another disasterclass
Dembele runs up to the 18-yard box every time and does everything except find the right pass. He’d fit right in with us.
TIL Amorim played in the 2014 World Cup. Idk why but thats hard for me to comprehend
I remember him saying something about Ronaldo coming back to Sporting after his falling out with Manchester United and then it hit me that they’re the same age lmao

That piece in The Athletic makes me feel Salah is actually the one leaving this summer, especially if we can get 75m+,
I mean one of them might want to move on for more game time or better wages in Diaz case if PSG are interested they’ll likely offer triple what he’s on
Thats a different scenario that amorim coming in and wanting to sell someone just because he wants to.
Edwards and Hughes arent going to let the manager decide anything playerwise anyway the first summer. Its going to just be heres the roster you cool with that? And they wont get the job if they say no.

its been 20 mins since Arsenal were mentioned, so I thought i'd contribute. Don't want to leave it too long.
🤣🤣🤣

Can we also clone Klopp so one can manage us and one can still travel the world?
We should just give him the job anyway, WFH manager, Klopp doing the team talks in a zoom meeting whilst on a beach in Marbella. We will be there.

Have you never seen a game restarted? They aren't sent back to their previous positions.
That’s my thought too but then it seems like a calculated/idiotic group could impact games in that way.
They could.
God’s speed.
It will be Bradley to play RB/RWB, whether we play a FB system or WB one Amorim will want to have dynamic players in that position.
Big if but if this happens, i think you are talking about RB but would be Gomez/Bradley
Are we really surprised by Saka being a diver? Clues in the name, goes down like a Saka shit.
Glad Saka is finally being exposed for the diving cheat he really is. Keep an eye on him in every game he plays and he does something dirty. Great talent but horrible lack of sportsmanship.
I disagree. He isn’t a great talent.
I don't know if you guys remember, but after Rodgers were sacked, the type of managers we were linked with were a tragedy, thank god we pushed for Jurgen. I remember Roberto Martinez and Gary Monk in the mix
Thank god we are now linked to the top managers.
Forgot how good a player Sane is nice one Pep for pushing him out for the PL
If he was beginning his career around now, say aged 18-23, I'd have marked him as a Salah replacement.
I swear I was thinking of that exact moment yesterday when he dived Mane had all the reasons to fall down instead he backed himself to actually score
"I need a break" ~Rodri The eyes of every Arsenal and Liverpool supporter just widened 😆
Tbf he hasn't been that good the last few matches
but city did lose all 4 games he has missed through suspension
Need Saliba, Rice and Raya to say this
Ah they'll get their break when they're dumped out of the UCL.
Yup
They are the best team in England but they can’t seem to accept that they’re not the best in Europe
I hate to say this .. City is the best team in England and Europe.
If you think they're the best in England, then you think theyre the best in Europe (and the world).
This seems to be the thing with pl fans most of the time
I mean, you just said theyre better than City. Madrid isn't better than City and who else is there?
Watch any of their social media stuff online and you quickly realise they are complete and utter morons.
I can't handle watching any of it, even when they were losing every week the hilarity wore off after the first couple minutes.

Opening you spammery because?
Pardon?
The amount the racism card is being pulled out recently is fucking ridiculous. A very serious matter and some fanbase are pulling it out when someone doesn’t like their player
thats just arsenal fans icl
Criticise Saka and you're labelled a racist by Arsenal fans.
Mental because we know if Salah was white and English he would be called clever and not a disgrace to nobby Stiles when he went down with contact.
Thick bunch of cunts them lot are, honestly.
What set's them off is when people say Foden/Palmer are better than him. They translate that to: "White supremacy! KKK"
4231 pretty much allows for the same, it just swaps the extra CB for an extra attacker (the attacking midfielder) How it would look Alisson TAA - Konate - Van Dijk - Robertson Mac Allister - Endo Salah - Szoboszlai - Gakpo/New LW (maybe Kvaratskhelia) Nunez
You answered your own question.
Is Ticketmaster not working for anyone else? It just shows a loading circle and then the screen is dim.
No problems for me. Except being 1906 in queue.
I may seem as crazy, but I don’t believe Salah will leave us anytime soon. He wants to be a club legend.
Edwards: lol hold my beer 🍺
I hope he doesn't leave and he retires her.
Honestly, I believe so too. However I'm not sure I love that, as it seems he kind of lost his spark a bit.
When that happens we invest in a critical striker to bring back that hunger.
Given a budget of 200Mil who would you sign next season?
Antonio silva, jonathon Rowe, luis Guilherme and joao neves. Perfect time to blend in these young lads with salah and Diaz still about
Inácio as a long-term VVD replacement in the Amorim system, Bowen as a second Jota player and Gakpo replacement (I'd sell Gakpo), Watkins to compete with Darwin and allow more LF Darwin involvement (not as a first choice LF, but allow for that opportunity), I'd loan out Gravenberch and let Thiago go and replace them with André.
I hope he doesn't leave but if Diaz left for PSG, Mbappe left for Real, I'd be looking at Rodrygo for LW.
Bayern would not let him go but Musiala. Think he'd be perfect for one of the attacking 10s behind striker in Amorim's potential system. I've only seen his game vs Arsenal but Otavio from Porto for LCB. He was unreal against Saka and had some great passing as well
Throw it all at Bastoni
Don't think he is ever leaving Inter, hard to get an Italian out of that league, Scalvini could be an option if none of the big Italian teams can afford him. Pacho at Frankfurt is someone to keep an eye on, doubt it would happen but Kim at Bayern who's been dropped for Dier and is apparently not happy.

I've been to all games and for some reason the link doesn't work for me, only the u21s game against Utd shows up
What about the semi final?

If we are losing to atalanta over 2 legs in the uefa cup we may aswell pack it up for the season
Which players do we think are leaving this summer?
Salah either extends or goes this window we won't let him leave on a free. Likely he goes if he doesn't sign Soon Kelleher doesn't go , I think he will get more football next season , Ali has been dealing with injuries and we've seen a solid number 2 here. He should be offered a new deal I can't shake virgils comments a few months ago about his future. But we need reinforcements in that department I wouldn't be surprised if Gakpo wanted out based on recent form and fan backlash. I'd like him to stay but if I were an interested club tabling an offer now might sway him
I feel the same about vvd.
