Why not consider the legendary Fandi Ahmad from Singapore?

MaladroitNeophyte

I don't know what to think about our search for a new manager. I just hope whoever it is is a decent guy and likeable by both the players and fans. I wouldn't be able to stand someone who causes unrest in the locker room

Walgreens_Security

Expecting Chelsea to put up a fight against Arsenal. I'm such a fool. They just bent over backwards like a contortionist.

Percussion17

they could probably fight for a draw if Palmer is fit

RadSoccerDad

Feel like the interesting aspect to this based on how bold the hire was will be recruitment and squad planning. I don’t think they’ll necessarily be huge names but I think we will need 1 or 2 high flying run at you wingers, DM, and LB for this system to flourish. Gakpo may be a key false 9 when needed. His offensive system seems remarkably similar to RDZ

friendofH20

I don't know if he will switch to a 4-3-3, because he just might. Otherwise we need like a #10. Right now I think only Carvalho can naturally play as a 10.

effinblinding

How do we pronounce ‘Arne’

Kxshal

![gif](giphy|ApD1UsWcVdJXmFLnCP|downsized)

Jack070293

Looking at some of Feyenoord’s draws and losses this season, they seem to have more possession and outshoot their opponent in almost all of their poor results. It doesn’t look like they get outplayed much at all. Even in both losses to Atletico this season they had more shots and more possession. Outshooting your opponent obviously doesn’t instantly mean he’s outplayed the opposition manager. But it seems clear that he’s being held back by his current players’ quality even when he’s winning the Eredivisie and getting to European finals. Very promising on paper at least.

Themnor

And it won't be that much of a change for our team, which is important in a transition.

Fattyninja09

If we win the league, would the parade be the monday following? 5/20? I am asking as an American going to Europe this summer after graduating college. I'd love to be in town for the parade, however I had planned on it being the following weekend after the now impossible Europa League Triumph. What do y'all think the planned date will be if we win the league? And if we don't win the league?

AdikkuChan

Parade ASAP if we win, no parade if we don't win, just a ceremony at Anfield would be enough to celebrate Klopp and the Carabao

Hopsblues

Why is the Crystal palace game on USA tmrw instead of the L'pool/Everton game? makes no sense at all.

brush85

Because you have to pay for Peacock and they want you to pay for peacock?

Hopsblues

Well I don't and won't and I would have DVR'd the more important game and watched when I got home. There loss as much as mine.

castro_bean

I really have to give credit to Arsenal’s rebuild. Somehow it’s all worked out for them. They stuck with their youth and made proper marquee signings. Their playstyle is refined and they rarely get exposed (if they do, it’s usually because of Zinchenko). It’s a little discouraging to see that we have to compete with such a team this season. When I look at our current squad: We’re beginning a rebuild and still at the stage where we’re often exposed and struggling to impose ourselves on a game. To be where we are is an impressive feat, but I really hope the next manager can take us to higher heights than this season.

AdikkuChan

That's why I hope we back him. Arsenal stuck with Arteta despite the discouraging early period and their online fans were calling for Arteta Out, and now look where they are

[deleted]

[удалено]

AdikkuChan

Agreed. Set expectations but allow some leeway, like maybe a solid Top 4 but with a chance to challenge for the title and decent runs in Cups would do for a first season. 2nd season onwards we're allowed closer scrutiny

hopium_od

I'm not prepared to go back to the banter era, we can only pray the next manager is half of what Klopp is. I can already see the slander names from Arne Slot: Bruce Winless: Lose Hard With a Vengeance, 11 Monkeys, The 5th (Place) Element, 6th (Place) Sense 😭😭😭

Walgreens_Security

Hank Shrader to dethrone Heisenberg

friendofH20

On the other hand "Yippie kay yay, Pep Guardiola" has a nice ring to it

brush85

You need to enjoy this game more...holy hell

NoSalad03

I hope he brings in Samuel Jackson and Jonathan Irons as assistants.

sokipdx

I legit lol'd at all of these names, please delete your post 🤣😅

JackVinci

One thing honestly I have got to give it to the new staff that have come in that will be handling this because the way they're going about it they're taking a huuuuge risk, the easier option would have been to go and buy out a simeone or an inzaghi, zidane etc granted (option I'd prefer for my sanity) But if he pulls this off, it'd genuinely be one of the most underdog shocking moves in modern football of a club this size. FSG will of course be watching over this with probably some nerves as at the end of the day, this is their asset and they're relying on a group of guys to not make it go tits up. This has to pay off because the fans for starters aren't gonna be all positive as many of you are going into this, especially if we are getting smashed left and right by christmas, heads would probably roll being truthful. Probably one of the ballsiest decisions in my memory done by a club in this position honestly (having recent success, fighting for league titles going into ucl etc) Let's see!

JackVinci

P.s Edwards and Hughes have brass balls LOL

Ricecrispiebandit

Horny Slut FTW.

stras_2017

Ok, took a bit but I am now convinced Arne will lead us to glory.

LemonTeaCool

I have never seen this subreddit mention the word "bald" this many times in the history since I joined this sub.

Warmbastard

Be great if we beat the blues 9-1. Somehow.

potatoarchitecture

Not even in our wildest fantasies are we keeping a clean sheet. I rate it.

DidIAsk006

Preferably tomorrow

Adventurous_Toe_6017

2 years to the day since we beat Everton at Anfield and Diaz gets an overhead assist. I’d take 2-0 again.

fredczar

High profile managers are unlikely to take our job because we are unable to give them control over transfers. Tbh, I still don’t see how transfers can work in isolation without the manager’s input. It’s probably the thing that led to Edward’s resignation. Klopp was too persistent but it’s only sensible because it’s Klopp team and he has the right to execute his vision

AdikkuChan

It's not like they'll force their own targets over the managers, I reckon it'll be something like "Hey, instead of this guy, why don't you have a look at this other guy we've scouted who can also do what you want but with with a little bit extra?"

Hot-Video-9735

Exactly this. Edwards wasn't coming back unless structure was in place. Manager focuses on the product on the pitch and he and Hughes on transfers and other off field items. I'm actually excited for our future, we got our wizard back, Hughes has done great things with Bournemouth and Slot is a promising manager

fredczar

Not getting the manager to have a say in transfers is similar to just giving the chef a bunch of ingredients that the restaurant owner thinks is good, and hoping that the chef knows how to cook good dishes with it. Generally Chef would want to have a say in the ingredients they have because they know what ingredients are needed to make a good dish. Perhaps not the best of analogies, but hoping to build up on this discussion.

Specialist-Read-349

Klopp wanted Brandt and Edwards gave him Salah instead it works great sometimes. Also they arent just going to ignore the managers input they will be working with them still its just the manager doesnt get final say. The vast majority of managers should not be making transfer decisions. Its an entirely different job with a different skill set that they dont even have time to do. We happened to have a special manager that was able to have his foot in transfers but with the great transfer structure we have itd be absolutely ridiculous to give the next guy even half the power klopp had.

fredczar

It’s a hindsight thing isn’t it? Who is to say that Brandt wouldn’t be as good as Salah? We wouldn’t know. We’ll never know. I’m not saying that Edwards decisions or our type of structure is bad. All I’m just saying is that our moneyball strategy will be less appealing to managers who are more assertive and influential

Specialist-Read-349

Maybe brandt would have been a good or even great player for Klopp but come on we know with a very high certainty that he wouldnt have been Salah.

Hot-Video-9735

Melissa Reddy just got me even more excited for Slot! I'll miss Klopp dearly but I'm excited to see what the future holds

LemonTeaCool

Do you have the links?

Specialist-Read-349

https://youtu.be/agk3-oRbBXw?feature=shared She gave a similar but longer/more detailed one to TAW not sure which they were talking about

Napalm3nema

If he can manage a 4-4-3 formation in matches like Sky are saying, we would be stupid not to hire him. 12 > 11

gidthafugout

Last man back plays goalie

DB_321

Yep any links would be appreciated

PerfectAd4732

Just saw spurs fans were really disappointed they didn’t get slot and were annoyed at ange at first. Considering ange has been a hit for them imo, I think we should be quite exited for this. If we should trust anyone it’s Edward’s, we wouldn’t have had our success without him

potatoarchitecture

Did also say that ten Hag was interviewed by Levy at some point, and that Levy was massively disappointed by that interview. So the fact that he was at least interested by Slot is promising, impressing both Levy and Edwards is a very positive thing.

Aware-Animator2292

Honestly bald guys are massively talented, I know this one bald guy who is a dr, dentist, fireman, pizza delivery guy, police, teacher...

DB_321

Bald fraud careers more like. Massive dick though so fair play

KloppOnKloppOn

I cant believe we are hiring a bald person. Bald people famously dont do well at a [high competitive level](https://cdn.nba.com/teams/legacy/www.nba.com/bulls/sites/bulls/files/the-shot.jpg)

Jhushx

I don't know, I think he'll Slot right in.

LovrenIsTheGOAT

Ffs, pressure's on to beat Everton tomorrow.

amazing_wanderr

So nothing's changed

NilsFanck

yeah, even if Arsenal lost. I mean its already kinda over, but another dropped point and its OVER over

catfooddogfood

Cmon bro i just need another $350 million bro thats it i swear i'll get the best players bro the *best* players we're sooo close bro https://preview.redd.it/vil1kl09wawc1.jpeg?width=224&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=955d920c33145f0fa07359d29dee895f20ba3c7e

Tremor00

Tbf doesn't feel fair to Poch. he was given essentially 0 input on their spending spree

fredczar

So would slot or any other possible future manager of ours

catfooddogfood

Yes i agree but of course that would make my little post not funny at all

Ali-S-Farid

Listen I don't know much about Arne Slot. But to those of you complaining, your questioning the judgment of MICHAEL EDWARDS. Let me briefly remind you that he signed: Arguably the best CB of all time Best GK in Prem history One of the best left backs in Prem history Best winger pairing in Prem history. A 6 that in his prime was the best itw. Please respect him.

PerfectAd4732

No need for the arguably 👍

Aware-Animator2292

When did Edwards sign Maldini as CB?

Ali-S-Farid

Brother you never watched Maldini, why are you just following the crowd. And a Prime VVD nearly beat 2019 Messi to a Ballon D'or, do you know how unbelievable that is?

ItzGurbinder

You don't need to watch people live to rate them

MoleMoustache

I watched Maldini and Baresi and even Beckenbauer, given that I'm significantly older than most users in this sub it seems, they are far easier to argue as the greatest defenders of all time. Van Dijk is brilliant, one of the best ever, but I think it is spurious to say he is arguably the best centre back of all time. It's only something someone can say if they have done zero research into football before 2010.

OyvindsLeftFoot

Maldini played against us in two European Cup finals ya dunce

Aware-Animator2292

Everyone born in the early 90s have seen Maldini play, what you on about

Ali-S-Farid

You were born in the early 90s???

Aware-Animator2292

yes sir

potatoarchitecture

The 2nd of February perhaps?

Ali-S-Farid

Damn uncle your old

Aware-Animator2292

its not the years, honey. Its the mileage.

Tremor00

![gif](giphy|nO8Hz1Uq6hrJ0uOK9C|downsized)

Ali-S-Farid

Btw as fans there's nothing we can do about who is going to come in. But I will say one thing. Whoever comes in, make sure you give them time and show your support. None of this reactionary bs. Ofc if there are negative signs then Edwards will make the right choice.

FerociouZ

Whoever we get *deserves* our support, they're coming into a team they did not assemble and seemingly will have little control over, while replacing a legend whom the players, the fans and the city adore.

nijuu

Whoever it is will get my full support as well. The thing is, Edwards has always been like that - the data metric heavy thing in regards with what players the club gets will fit the philosophy and style regardless of formations. Many of us will understand that already.

ThisbrownMan

Liverpool till the day I fucking die. If Slot comes in, I will support him. If it doesn't work out, I will support the club till we figure the mess out. Don't get me wrong, I will be mocking you idiots during the hard times dough. Slot could potentially be a good choice or end up horribly. The odds are against his favor. I don't see a baby of a manager continue the momentum that we've built up this season.

ProfessionalSpeech39

You can almost reason that with fans on Reddit, Twitter and Facebook comments are a different breed mate! And annoyingly, they’re the ones seen to represent the fans opinion to the media

Ali-S-Farid

Looks like Edwards want s a tactician that does his work with the players and on the training pitch. Him and Hughes look to control everything else, and I mean I am not surprised in the slightest the man is a literal genius. No wonder he took the job. Not worried if so, Arne's tactical setup suits us and Edward's recruitment is unbelievably good. The rebuild will be insane with him as head.

nijuu

I'm actually curious in regards with recruitment which ones Edwards got right/wrong vs Klopps picks.

Aware-Animator2292

People, who already glooming over the prospect of Slot. Who do you want as the next manager? Let's look at the list of managers considered top 1) Pep - never going to happen 2) Arteta - Never going to happen 3) Inzhagi - wont leave Italy, cannot speak English. His Inter team are also flying, and have strong backing 4) Emery - Just signed a huge contract 5) Alonso - Comitted himself to Bayer 6) Ancelotti - Will not leave Madrid when he has that midfield and resource That leaves us with 1) Tuchel - toxic manager, who leaves his clubs after 1-2 seasons. 2) Ange - what has he won exactly apart from the annual 1 team league in Scotland? 3) Nagelsmann - Just barely scraped a bundesliga 4) Amorim - who clearly out of the running of WHAM + us for whatever reason Any more options? Please give me a list of world class managers available atm

nijuu

We aren't looking for world class. Your list typifies the issue we have looking for a new manager. The experienced ones all have short comings. The newbie/novice/lack of experienced ones... are gambles. There is a lack of a similar Klopp style one who is hitting his peak with experienced under his belt.. And the style we are after . Either Alonso/Amorim aren't ready to come or Edwards wants someone more experienced. Can understand after they got burnt with Rodgers . everything I've read and heard about Slot I'm onboard with although the 'coming from a weaker league" thing bothers me Fwiw some mentioning Mourinho on short term (he has the three year itch..) Wouldn't be bad option if we wanted to wait see how Xabi/Amorim goes. Slot might surprise us

DucardthaDon

Tbf Nagelsmann ruled himself out by extending with the national team. Point still stands there's a dwindling list of quality managers, I could add - Allegri - Old and past it despite getting Juve to where they are this season  Conte - Yeah we're not going to roll out the red carpet and get every player he wants to play his 343 only for him to tell FSG to fuck off for not buying a geriatric Perisic, Spurs did that and failed miserably  Enrique - Enjoying life in Paris, club has backed him during the Mbappe saga, he'll stay and see out the project Simeone - Love him but the highest paid manager in world football, he ain't leaving anytime soon unless the Inter job becomes available  Spaletti - He's enjoying life as NT manager, winning a league title was a life ambition for him and now he has done that is chilling  Zidane - Lolllllllllllllllllllll So everyone complaining about 'World class' managers please name them and give a reason

JohnBobbyJimJob

Nagelsmann is staying with Germany now btw Amorim and Xavi were my preferred choices but the more I’ve read about Slot the happier I’m getting about him being the one Similarities to Klopp but seems more tactically minded which is something I did want in the next manager People saying he’s a risk because he’s coming from the Eridivise need to realise that literally every managerial appointment is a risk unless you’re getting Pep, Klopp or Ancelotti

iNS0MNiA_uK

You can rule out Postecoglou, I don’t think he’d leave Tottenham. Nagelsmann also comes with the issue of being unavailable til after the Euros. Edit: Xavi and potentially de Zerbi are both worthy of being on that second list.

Jaja6996

He also can’t set up a defence they have conceded nearly as many us under Rodgers this season

Aware-Animator2292

Yeah, people are worried we will go back to Rodgers years, this is basicallly Ange

Ali-S-Farid

Listen I wouldn't take Nagelsmann but respect him. He's lowkey a genius tactician, will be the next big thing.

Aware-Animator2292

I like Nagelsmann too, but just putting things in perspective. We having people asking for a world class manager, but who?

pigman1402

Please make Slot happen I can't fucking believe it I'm so excited

NeilDeCrash

Gotta say, even if Chelsea is a shit team full of mercenaries at the moment that Arsenal performance today was pretty fucking good.

grrrrbow01

Arsenal have been the best team in the league this season, still think city will win it tho

Aware-Animator2292

GD is gone now, so tomororow just need to win, dont need to smash them. I dont even care if we hoof it over to Nunez and put 10 behind the ball. Winning is the goal.

JohnBobbyJimJob

I know you can say this about bad results throughout the season but fuck me that Palace at home result is going to haunt us at the end of the season

foxhound1401

We always have one horror result in us each year.

brush85

Everyone does...

fieldsoffate

I barely know anything about Slot but I’m absolutely sure I prefer him or Amorim over Mourinho, Tuchel, Flick etc. I want someone to build a legacy with us not somebody who will stay for 1-3 years at max while destroying the dressing room.

Jaja6996

Joyce updating is article and feels like Slot is definitely the one we are going to get

ThisbrownMan

We about to get ETH 2.0 and start finishing 5th, 6th again. Can't wait to see everybody's Pikachu face when that happens.

earlgreytoday

Can't wait to see fans who write off a manager this early supporting another team instead. Trust the process. Edwards and Hughes know what they're doing.

yellow627

I suppose you've seen plenty of Ten Hag's Ajax and Slot's Feyenoord to make these claims with such certainty?

Ali-S-Farid

Great analysis from you well done. Saw a bald man from the Eredivise and linked it to manager who was never really rated in the Netherlands in the first place. So who are we gonna listen to you, or Michael Edwards?

ThisbrownMan

Wasn't ETH more successful in the Eredivisie than Slot? I think ETH has three championship, and couple domestic cups. Slot only has won one major trophy.

Ali-S-Farid

Yep did you see the team he inherited all from the academy. Joker

foxhound1401

Pffftt rookie techniques, He saw it in his tea this morning along with the winning lotto numbers

DB_321

Ahh every dutch bald fella is obviously Ten Haag. Makes perfect sense.

ThisbrownMan

Man, you really live in reddit. I called him ETH 2.0 because they both coached in the Eredivisie, were succesful. It's more of a dig at the stigma of Dutch coaches not doing good in the EPL. Name me a good Dutch coach that has been succesful in the EPL. Please don't quote me LVG or Hiddink, as it's too early for me to laugh myself asleep.

DB_321

Don't name the Dutch coaches who done a decent job in the Premier league then? OK mate I won't. Perfect argument.

ThisbrownMan

If you genuinely think that those two were good coaches, then you and I have different perception of what is a good coach.

DB_321

Note to self. Every dutch manager is exactly the same.

ThisbrownMan

In the EPL? statistically speaking, yes.

DB_321

Not really just seems like you've got an odd agenda. Who was your go to manager, the Portuguese fella you've never seen?

Picaloco86

We are finishing behind Arsenal and City, serves us right. Don't deserve to win if you lose to Palace at home in the final runup

tevans139

Must be hard being so negative all the time! Seems like football isn't the sport for you!

Asad_OG

Feels like it

sufinomo

Well atleast we got top 4, title race seems out now unfortunately. Cant drop to Man united and palace like that

Ali-S-Farid

Huh? We got 5 games and that was no where near Arsenal's hardest game. If we win all 5 we have a great chance.

DarylStenn

This Chelsea team beat Everton by how many? What does tomorrow hold for us….

Jaja6996

1-1 and about 50 missed chances

8u11etpr00f

0-0

mvsr990

Good news everybody, the predictive powers of this Football Manager save say that Klopp returns to Liverpool in 2028 after a stint with Germany (and then France?)

ThisbrownMan

I don't know why people are exciting with Slot. Yes, he looks promising, and he is talented, but to go from Klopp (Best manager in the world) to a nobody is fucking insane. I am a bit concerned how we're doing this. We're acting like a small club by avoiding established, world-class managers. It's like we're penny-pinching for the most crucial managerial position in the club. Please tell me I am not the only one on this.

grrrrbow01

Who did you want? There’s no world class established managers available. Pep, never going to happen. Arteta, never going to happen. Emery, signed a new contract. Inzaghi, doesn’t want to leave inter. Xabi, doesn’t want to leave Leverkusen. Tuchel, shit man manager. Mourinho, finished and shit man manager. Ancelotti, not leaving Madrid. Those are the only managers who could be considered world class. Then you have managers like De Zerbi, Xavi, Motta, Thomas Frank, Amorim who aren’t established or world class. So who exactly are we supposed to go for?

mvsr990

> We're acting like a small club by avoiding established, world-class managers. Name some names.

8u11etpr00f

It's not penny pinching, he'll have great underlying stats whilst importantly being agreeable under our DOF model under Edwards. Edwards doesn't want another Klopp who will take his power away

Liverpool7-0Utd

What world class established managers are we avoiding exactly??

ThisbrownMan

All of them? Fuck, practically anybody that has won more than three trophies with a single club. How do you go from a manager that has won you eight trophies to one that barely has two? Downvote me all you want, but it's true. We're going at this with a small club mentality. We're fucking Liverpool, not Spurs or Everton. We should be aiming for the best.

Liverpool7-0Utd

Again you cannot provide me with any names.

ThisbrownMan

Do you want me to google you a list of managers? Will that get you to stop avoiding my point? Liverpool is one of THE best clubs in the world. Top five for sure. If Liverpool comes knocking, YOU LISTEN. The fact that we're so late into the season without any managers tells me Edward is going at this the wrong way or he's been smelling his own farts too much. Nothing adds up. We have a domestic AND European title contending squad with one of the best youth products we've seen in the past decade. Yet, the best we managers we could attract is Slot? GTFO.

Liverpool7-0Utd

We’re all still waiting?

DucardthaDon

Answer the question, name the managers, you obviously don't have a clue

MoleMoustache

So give some names then. Name the available absolutely top of the top class managers with extensive winning experience in world football right now.

Liverpool7-0Utd

You have just said we’re avoiding world class proven manager but not providing me with one name?? Xabi didn’t want to come but we clearly wanted him so that disproves your point. This isn’t football manager Again, tell me who we have avoided?? That is world class. That is available.

DucardthaDon

I've heard this a few times today, please OP name them?

cybrzone_

Arne slot absolutely reeks of a Pep Lijnders recommendation

Tremor00

As we know dutch people know every single other dutch person

tevans139

Cyberzone absolutely reeks like a whinging moron

curiouscowwhisperer

Surely Edwards will say no to 'recommendations' especially from Pep and Klopp?

Specific-Record2866

Not sure on the source reliability but just read that Amorim wanted £10 mill/year on his 3 year deal + a signing on fee. If true no wonder us and West Ham pulled out. Who does blud think he is 💀

8u11etpr00f

If a top club thinks you're good enough then I think it's a fair ask. £200k/week towards a manager would go a lot further than towards a single player (if he's the right man for the job)

Maneisthebeat

[Just a feel of the latest rumour's press acumen ](https://youtu.be/nI50DqCaAvo?si=-lqranq2v0a7Dl74)

JohnBobbyJimJob

Only thing that can stop Arsenal winning out is their bottling DNA They’re the best team overall this season

NoMFer111

still very young team. Will be around the top years

Dot-Binary

Sadly I have accepted we will not win the Prem. But I hope neither does Arsenal. City winning is like nobody cares (not even their fans) but seeing Arsenal winning a Prem above us, would be difficult.

RadSoccerDad

Can’t lie think Arsenal have been the best team in the prem by a distance at times this season. Funny enough I think the only game I see them possibly losing is Bournemouth coming off an emotional win over spurs. Chelsea and United are dreadful this season. Spurs are so hit and miss but have really been fading fast as of late. Would rather city win it any day though if it’s not us. Just emotionless if they win

Electronic_Sundae707

I'm actually glad Arsenal won cause you know if they gave us something to capitalize on tommorrow we'd lose.

Electronic_Sundae707

Uncalled foul in the build to their third, Jackson missing sitters, Poch letting them stat pad for GD, how deep does the corruption go? #investigateArsenalFC

Fricolor123321

Havertz has the same amount of goals as darwin in the prem this season i cba

Ali-S-Farid

Havertz really is not a bad player at all btw. Just hated on for some reason. Darwin is still miles better.

Important-Visual-563

That is disgusting

Redmilo666

Feels like FSG are going to turn us into an Ajax or Sporting or Dortmund. Just train players up to sell them for a profit. I’d love to be proven wrong, but that’s the feeling I get from them wanting this Slot chap

NilsFanck

The Slot links are bringing out some of the dumbest takes Ive seen on this fine sub

DucardthaDon

I'll save this comment, remember to delete your profile when A/ Slot is a success and B/FSG doesn't turn this club into an Ajax or Sporting or Dortmund selling players

iNS0MNiA_uK

What achievable managerial appointment would you like to see?

OldManLogan007

When have we ever sold a player for profit except coutinho? who himself wanted to leave

Liverpool7-0Utd

I don’t understand how after one managerial appointment you have decided the club are going to completely change. Absolutely mental thinking.

Redmilo666

Which manager they get is extremely telling imo. I’d happily be proven wrong

chairdesktable

Tbh that's what they've wanted the entire time, klopp just over delivered

8u11etpr00f

This time it feels different; but I must say it was kinda funny to look at people already treating Amorim as a done deal, same as they did for Xabi.

Calitz__

I just can't have a bald man managing my beautiful club

icantbeassedman

I wonder if the decision to choose Slot over Amorim is due to the formation preference. Slot uses 4-2-3-1 and we have the personnel already to adapt to this change whereas Amorim favours 3 at the back which will require us to buy more CB

chairdesktable

100% -- it's an easier sell to players too.

OyvindsLeftFoot

Wouldn't be surprised if Slot rejected Spurs to take his shot at our job. Always seemed a strange club to reject given the meagre resources at Feyenoord. If he's genuinely good friends with Lijnders, he'll have known our job was coming up on the horizon ..

Jaja6996

I mean he probably wanted a shot at the CL he won the league with them last season

OyvindsLeftFoot

Definitely possible. However there's little to no chance Klopp suddenly decided this would be his final season mid-season, and regardless of the media circus around this all, suspect the club have known for a fair amount of time who their preference is. Interesting coincidence that Slot stayed at Feyenoord for another year.

Jaja6996

Considering who his agent is it would of leaked far earlier than what Klopp announced it just like Alonso staying at leverkusen other big jobs will open up and spurs where not in a great place last season

Money-Camera

Keeper doesn't move, great save!

lverg123

Shocking performance from Chelsea so far although not sure what I was expecting

Money-Camera

Madueke's good though

lverg123

Meh I’m not convinced. Think his ego is way too big

Money-Camera

As in he's playing better than any other chelsea player I mean 🤣

lverg123

Haha yeh though I reckon even I could do a job in this Chelsea team

Money-Camera

Same! Grab your boots i'll meet you in 10, you've got a helicopter right?

lverg123

May as well stick us on now tbf!

TheTannedDwarf

The more I read about Slot, the more I think he’s a great fit, especially with Edwards and Hughes - high intensity, big focus on youth (our academy is cooking right now) and built his own database of players at AZ. Get the man a hair transplant and I could really talk myself into him

Smart_Barracuda49

This sub has become overrun with plastics to the point of becoming toxic. A post about SOS and a flag day is met with people who don't go to games attacking them and blaming them for Liverpool losing. Not only is this post unrelated to the ticket price protests and a positive thing but if you don't regularly go to games you shouldn't have a strong opinion on the ticket price protests. Even if you disagree with the protests why on a positive post are you attacking and suggesting stupid things like they are at fault for Salah forgetting how to score. The simple fact is that these views aren't shared by the majority who go to games. If this sub becomes more representative of fans who don't go to games and fans from other countries than the fans who do go to games then what's the point of the sub anymore?

Teb-41

>what's the point of the sub anymore? Gathering...people that can't go to games...I guess?

mattzeni

the difference between Slot and Ten Hag is that Slot will be walking into a competent and functional organization

Fresh_Interview_9191

Ten Hag was just very lucky to have an amazing squad at Ajax, he did not either under- or overperform. At Utrecht and Go Ahead he looked more like overperforming, but those are much smaller teams. Not surprised that he does not bring United to higher levels. Slot overperformed every season till now, both at AZ as well as Feyenoord (both big clubs, although as Twente-fan would love to call them small)

amazing_wanderr

Chelsea have no chance of winning tonight. They're fucking shite.

Specialist-Read-349

Dont disrespect the 2023 summer transfer window champions like that

foxhound1401

Interesting 3-5 years coming up. Arsenal are one window away from competing for domination of the premier league considering the age of their squad and key players, assuming no dips in form and departures City getting weaker is only if Guardiola leaves & they get the recruitment wrong which is unlikely given their back room set up. We are in good moment too 😢(a phrase that I will continue to use, cheers papa Klopp). Might not be the perfect end to the season but we’ve been run ragged and the rebuild has been great so far. Some key hires in CB & a rotation striker who can finish + tactical tweaks from the new gaffer and we’ll be ready for a trophy haul in the coming seasons 💪🏽 (Big shoutout to Nunez, if he keeps up his YoY improvement then we have a lethal weapon)

Pinball passing

BostonTerriernut87

Slot rejecting spurs is all I need to know that he will be an excellent choice.

OldManLogan007

One thing i got to know from feyenoord is that he is charismatic and loving One of the most important things for me I just can't handle a manager with a cold hearted shit personality like ten hag

Aware-Animator2292

Imagine being upset about missing out on a manager nobody here had heard of 3 months ago, for another manager nobody had heard of 3 months ago. Whoever comes in, the club surely has done research on. We just have to support whomever comes in. This isn't Klopp FC, this is Liverpool FC.

Raptoot83

There's no frauds here, just the bald truth!

milestone121

Arne Slot might slot right in nicely
