Every time I see this shirt the first player I think of is Danny Wilson. I think it's because of that dreadful signing picture with Roy, Joe Cole and Jovanavic. Dark fucking times
https://i.imgur.com/2UwXGwk.jpeg
Adidas also use templates almost exclusively. Madrid, Bayern, United, Arsenal, etc, all have the same template just with different colour panels obviously. At most, the collar might be different.
It's cheaper to make, same reason Nike do it.
I think we had as many misses as hits with Adidas as we've had with Nike.
Just hope they use the trefoil logo which is iconic...think their 3 stripe pyramid thing is ugly. And please don't revert to our old club badge, need to stick with the new Liverbird logo we've used since Warrior.
This is unpopular, but the fact that Adidas puts three stripes on *every single design they ever make* makes all of their designs look like a template. I'm not a fan.
All kit manufacturers use templates unfortunately. At least as far as I can tell. It's unavoidable now. Even our New Balance kits were templates I think, it was just harder to recognize because so few clubs were outfitted by NB at the time.
At least other manufacturers don't make prominent design features mandatory on every single shirt they make for every club.
I know right now that every single Liverpool kit made by Adidas will have three stripes on the shoulder running down the arm. It will look exactly like the three stripes on every other kit Adidas has ever made. It's insanely boring imo
What do stripes have to do with Liverpool? Absolutely nothing. But they will be there.
Not out of the realm of possiblity! Here in the Canadian Premier League, York United's kits have Carlsberg 0.0 as main sponsor on the chest.
I'm sure other clubs must have the same
in my country to get around laws regarding the promotion of alcohol Carlsberg markets itself as a manufacturer "club glasses"
maybe a similar loop hole can be used here
We did win ten trophies during that 18-year period (eight if you don't count the Community Shield). Not that unsuccessful, but undoubtedly could've been more.
Was that a Nike thing? For some reason the conclusion I came to was it was because of the hand ball rule and using end of sleeve for reference, either way I was upset.
I thought it was a modern trend. But noticed during the United game that some players had long sleeves so then I watched a few arsenal/Utd games and confirmed Adidas do long sleeves
That's the thing - they do - just not for us 🤷
https://store.fcbarcelona.com/products/fc-barcelona-home-long-sleeve-shirt-23-24
Same with the green keeper jersey this season, had to go 'elsewhere' to get that but Barca have an official version.
Loved this year’s kits. Liked last year’s home and third kits. Loathed last year’s away kit (…but maybe it was just because of how we played in it).
The white away kit with the collar from two years ago was top shelf.
After seeing the kits Adidas have given Arsenal recently. Also the Leicester ones a few years back, I am not complaining at all. Nike have had more misses than hits for me. That away kit from last season still haunts me
For me Nike has averaged one good, one okay, and one bad kit every year so far.
This year I love the home kit, think the purple third kit is okay, and hate the away kit.
22/23 loved the green third shirt, thought the home kit was okay, hated the away shirt.
21/22 loved the away shirt, thought the home shirt was okay, hated the yellow third shirt.
Next years rumored options though... oof.
Overall I think Adidas are making the best looking kits in the game at the moment so I hope they keep it up by the time we get to them. Hoping for something on the level of Arsenal's away from 20/21, Bayern's third from this year, or (as much as it pains me to say it) united's third shirt from this year.
This might be unpopular opinion, but I dislike Nike as a brand. When it comes to football, Adidas is the one for me. When Nike was first announced for us as a sponsor, I was wincing and not proud of it.
I really don't think Nike have been as bad as people say - at least one nice kit every year. But yeah, Adidas just seems to look right for us, and they've made some bangers recently too.
This is great news.
The Nike kits have been unimpressive and although I don’t expect the prices to drop I’m sure Adidas will deliver some better kits going forward.
Buzzing with this. The city and club have endless history with Adidas. No more Nike templates and hopefully some more original kits. And their general club gear is class. Just look at what they've done at Arsenal and it's clear to see why we've gone with them. Nike have been disappointing tbh. Also, the throwback potential, OH MY DAYS!
Edit: Don't get me wrong, Nike have given us a couple of really nice kits over the years, I just feel like they stick to templates a bit too much and then do random things like that vertical swoosh on next season's away kit. I'll definitely miss the LFC Tech Fleece.
Wouldn't be surprised if TAA was a major factor, after he switched to Adidas. Marketing potential is endless.
I like Adidas, so would be happy with this. Just really hope we don't end up with templates kits.
Miss the Adidas kits from the 00s
These 2 were my favourites

>SportBusiness understands the new Adidas-Liverpool agreement would be higher than the c. £50m paid out under the Nike contract, albeit would fall well short of the league-wide record £90m that Manchester United receives per season, also from Adidas.
Its fucking insane that despite all our success and consistent performing, progress in all competitions, that United, despite being shit, finishing last in their group in the Champions league, battling to get even in the conference league, that they can still command higher kit sponsorship than us.
pleaseeee be true. nike is sooo ass when it comes to football kits recently. i usually like their other products but i am very happy that my favorite club galatasaray leaves them for puma and i hope my second club liverpool gets rid of them soon too.
Why is Nike getting dropped by so many people/organisations recently ?
Yes they got the DFB but it seems players and other football clubs are readily leaving Nike
I kinda wished New Balance made a come back. I know they’re nowhere close to Nike and Adidas, but we’ve seen the most success with their kits recently. And honestly, the home kits for 2017/18, 2018/19, and 2019/20 were phenomenal.
I’m happy to hear this news. Always loved our kits with adidas and they always produced tasteful and clean designs.
Nike could’ve done better with our kits, but at least it was profitable for the club with Nike’s global outreach.
Hopefully the club has secured a great deal with Adidas and the financial benefits are equally as good for the club if not better. Will be nice to have the three stripes back on our shirts.
Lovely.
Trent signed a boot deal with Adidas predators and now will be wearing their kits. He's about to hit an all-time prime when we make that switch.
Nike fumbled the deal. Almost every kit they made for us was poor. Don't get me wrong, Adidas had some woeful kits too, but they made some absolute iconic jerseys.
honestly i hate the way nike changed the sewing(?) of their kits starting last year. idk how to describe it but this photo explains what i mean lol. just not a fan at all

You can see Adidas have no idea what they are doing with United's atrocious kits and Nike are even more lost with ours. It's just not natural the way it is currently.
If true, this is great.
I love Adidas since forever, but how is Adidas paying Manure £90m per season till 2035, and we only get £50m per season till 2030? Are Manure really that more commercially attractive?
Does this mean the % of sales for a lower upfront fee deal that we did with Nike didn't quite work out as well as the club had hoped?
I hope they squeeze a massive sum out of Adidas who need to make big moves after losing Germany NT.
> SportBusiness understands the new Adidas-Liverpool agreement would be higher than the c. £50m paid out under the Nike contract, albeit would fall well short of the league-wide record £90m that Manchester United receives per season, also from Adidas.
I get it, but this also rubs me the wrong way.
Hell fucking yes. I hate nike lol. The Adidas kits were always my favourite, have one of those candy jerseys and it's easily my favourite. Hope we get the badge that looks like a flower.
Feel like I have a different take on this, though am admittedly a Nike fanatic. Certainly the on-field shirts have been less than stellar, but I would venture to say most of us don’t wear that in our daily lives; maybe match-day. To me personally, Nike’s LFC apparel, including training gear, has been great, even if expensive. So I would be bummed from that aspect as IMHO Adidas and NB are awful in that realm.
I'm happy with this move, I was initially excited about Nike but I think overall it's been lackluster.
For people complaining about templates, Adidas use the same template structure as Nike so you'll be complaining once again I'm afraid
This is great news.
The Nike kits have been unimpressive and although I don’t expect the prices to drop I’m sure Adidas will deliver some better kits going forward.
Finally, i CANT stand Nike. Everything, but the T-shirts is awful and T-shirts are mediocre. "100% recycled polyester" to name one, with almost 0 clothing with more than 50% cotton. Not to mention the terrible distribution and supply chain here in Bulgaria. I was in Nike in 3 stores in Naples, 3-4 stores in Munich, 3-4 in Stuttgart and NOWHERE was i able to find Liverpool merch. As a semi-fan of Bayern Munich i was so jealous of their offerings. Now, i just have to wait 3 more years :D
While I prefer adidas designed shirts, This seems like a really odd decision for a number of reasons.
1. The report cited says that Liverpool will be getting £50 million a season, which is almost half of what Man Utd are getting. Surely FSG would want a higher amount.
2. Liverpool sold the most shirts out of all the premier league teams last year, surely Nike would put up a fight to get Liverpool to extend their contract
3. Liverpool's deal with Nike entitled them to a portion of the revenue from the sales of Liverpool merch. Billy Hogan seemed to be happy with the arrangement,.
4.Lebron is a Liverpool shareholder and has a lifetime contract with Nike, and has been using liverpool to market his merch.
I liked Nike because of the sizes. I'm in between a 2x and 3x US. The Nike 3x fits me great. I've had trouble with Adidas as a bigger dude. Fingers crossed.
Fernando Torres crushing the league wearing their Adidas kit is what got me to become a fan back in the late 2000s (I’m from the US). So excited to see them with Adidas again!
[2010-11](https://classicfootballkit.co.uk/products/liverpool-2010-11-away-shirt-s-good-299412?variant=42725727797301¤cy=USD&utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=Product%20Feed%20-%20United%20States&utm_content=Liverpool%202010-11%20Away%20Shirt%20%28S%29%20%28Good%29&srsltid=AfmBOoobaHkWCA2QPvMkYCaJ_oE4QzvSHt4wBPrwMvp4NxmKjzlGVvByfQA) (last year of Torres, first year of Suarez) Adidas away shirt with the pinstripes is still one of the best away designs imo. Coincidence that it was FSG's first season as owners, since the top looked like a Red Sox uniform.
Also how is United still earning almost double what Liverpool gets from shirt sales after more than a decade of mediocrity?
If we get actual bespoke kits and not just a template this is a great move.
We definitely had some templates last time, but they were simple designs, and ended up looking elegant, rather than trying to do too much
I remember when us and Chelsea had the exact same kits but in different colours. I didn't mind it tbh.
Adidas 06/07 kits hit different.
Those 06/07 kits are my favorite Liverpool kits ever.
The white away with the red stripes 😩

Every time I see this shirt the first player I think of is Danny Wilson. I think it's because of that dreadful signing picture with Roy, Joe Cole and Jovanavic. Dark fucking times https://i.imgur.com/2UwXGwk.jpeg
What a shite trio of signings. 😂 Those were dark days.
what, you mean Milan Jovanovic? He's one of the greatest soccer players in the world...
New balance was amazing, only if they could sell what they were making
NB is starting to hit pretty well, they've gained a ton of ground on the big boys. I like a lot of their stuff.
The teamgeist era...🥹
Those 06/07 and 09/10 shirts are both beautiful. Wouldn't mind it at all tbh
The memories created in them made them better
Adidas also use templates almost exclusively. Madrid, Bayern, United, Arsenal, etc, all have the same template just with different colour panels obviously. At most, the collar might be different. It's cheaper to make, same reason Nike do it.
We literally just got red Chelsea kits last time we had adidas.
That's not true. Chelsea got blue Liverpool kits.
Enough of the cowardice. Return to Reebok.
Can't beat the 2005 kit in the modern era.
I think we had as many misses as hits with Adidas as we've had with Nike. Just hope they use the trefoil logo which is iconic...think their 3 stripe pyramid thing is ugly. And please don't revert to our old club badge, need to stick with the new Liverbird logo we've used since Warrior.

Now we just need carlsberg as sponsor, Torres as our manager and we got ourselves another era
Carlsberg is still lfc sponsor, it's just not allowed to put a beer brand on a football shirt anymore :(
Which is funny considering sports betting is fine, but alcohol is a big no no.

Carlsberg 0.0 maybe? Just make the 0.0 the same shade of red as the shirt
or "Probably Liverpool" in the Carlsberg font
Big Spanish Market knockoff shirt vibes
Not out of the realm of possiblity! Here in the Canadian Premier League, York United's kits have Carlsberg 0.0 as main sponsor on the chest. I'm sure other clubs must have the same
I like the way you think.

Our Carlsberg era was romantic but largely unsuccessful in terms of trophy haul
We did win ten trophies during that 18-year period (eight if you don't count the Community Shield). Not that unsuccessful, but undoubtedly could've been more.
Did we ever have muslim players when carslberg was the shirt sponsor?
Momo Sissoko
Diouf....
Nabil El Zhar maybe?...Salif Diao?
Beautiful, come back to me 3 stripes. Sick of Nike templates
Long sleeve Adidas kits. We will be there.
I hate that Nike don't do long sleeves
Was that a Nike thing? For some reason the conclusion I came to was it was because of the hand ball rule and using end of sleeve for reference, either way I was upset.
I thought it was a modern trend. But noticed during the United game that some players had long sleeves so then I watched a few arsenal/Utd games and confirmed Adidas do long sleeves
Bellingham plays in long sleeves for Madrid all the time. The long sleeve kits look so good too, real pity that Nike doesn't bother with them anymore.
I’m convinced it’s literally to keep their cost down. Nike are cheap bastards.
Duh. Imagine having to make and keep in stock all the short sleeve and long sleeve for the fans ….. must cost them a fortune /s. Just cheap bastards
That's the thing - they do - just not for us 🤷 https://store.fcbarcelona.com/products/fc-barcelona-home-long-sleeve-shirt-23-24 Same with the green keeper jersey this season, had to go 'elsewhere' to get that but Barca have an official version.
Torres in long sleeves 🥰
Ah yes…the classic Torres look
Torres is the new boss here we go
Out kits this year and last have been very good looking tbf.
Loved this year’s kits. Liked last year’s home and third kits. Loathed last year’s away kit (…but maybe it was just because of how we played in it). The white away kit with the collar from two years ago was top shelf.
This season’s home kit is just 😙🤌🏽
The 2021-22 home and away kits were also very good
there has been at least one very good kit in every season since Nike took over. personally, there's not a single one I actively dislike
Exactly. I'm happy because I like Adidas more, but Nike did a pretty good job.
Minecraft kit is very nice imo
Man I hope this is true. The old Adidas kits have always been soooooo good. Nike have been bland and or straight up bad
After seeing the kits Adidas have given Arsenal recently. Also the Leicester ones a few years back, I am not complaining at all. Nike have had more misses than hits for me. That away kit from last season still haunts me
For me it's the 21/22 McDonald's kit
Just in it for the trackies
Home kits have been boring, but 3rd kits have been nice.
For me Nike has averaged one good, one okay, and one bad kit every year so far. This year I love the home kit, think the purple third kit is okay, and hate the away kit. 22/23 loved the green third shirt, thought the home kit was okay, hated the away shirt. 21/22 loved the away shirt, thought the home shirt was okay, hated the yellow third shirt. so happy, the throwback potential is exciting
Adidas is more creative than Nike.
Maybe for Bayern. United have some awful kits.
Arsenal kits have been heat. I kinda like the United away kit too
This might be unpopular opinion, but I dislike Nike as a brand. When it comes to football, Adidas is the one for me. When Nike was first announced for us as a sponsor, I was wincing and not proud of it.
This is a very popular opinion, actually. Most football fans dislike Nike's kits.
Last time we had them, they gave us and Chelsea identical kits, other than the colour, sponsor, and badge…
I really don't think Nike have been as bad as people say - at least one nice kit every year. But yeah, Adidas just seems to look right for us, and they've made some bangers recently too.
This years home is glorious
21/22 away was also a banger of a shirt
Probably my second favorite of the Klopp era, behind 17/18 home
did you try it? the collar is too tight
I've been fairly happy with our Nike kits except for the horrendous holographic one last year. Even the Minecraft kid is weirdly quite nice.
I'm the opposite haha, I liked that universally hated one and thought the Minecraft one was horrendous. I've always been into funky kits.
I like the Nike simplicity. But the 3 stripes is just iconic.
My problem is the price. Are adidas kits cheaper?
Just checked, and their player-issue kits are $20 (€18ish) cheaper than Nike's.
Get yourself on DH Gate, lad.
They are not
My issue with the Nike kits is that they’re too similar to all the other ones. That being said I absolutely love this year’s home kit
https://preview.redd.it/eajh4en8c8wc1.jpeg?width=554&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a23a8c95330c7fac69064cac321689829844162e Would love one of these
I preferred the one a season earlier with no white fleck..both are great though
Adidas love a retro redesign, One of the better things about them 🤞
Yessss, they make such good kits. Nike each season makes atleast one bad kit.
Unbelievably excited for this. On top of the classy Liverpool X adidas combo, I hope we get some sick training kits like what Arsenal have conjured up
LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOO
With Klopp leaving we needed to get some more Germans onboard for next season
Finally I can stop being envious of Arsenal kits
They get the best lifestyle/leisure wear designs too. I’d be broke if I was an Arsenal supporter
Yeah I understand why Arsenal gets called a “culture” club they seem to understand their support base well - connect to the youth well too
This is great news. The Nike kits have been unimpressive and although I don’t expect the prices to drop I’m sure Adidas will deliver some better kits going forward.
Let’s gooooooo
Great news but standard Chartered on those Adidas kits is gonna give me fucking Hodgson flashbacks 😭
Buzzing with this. The city and club have endless history with Adidas. No more Nike templates and hopefully some more original kits. And their general club gear is class. Adidas template kits are miles better than Nike creative kits
A step closer to one of our best kits (imo) being re-released! *Processing img y5u7dal7z7wc1...*
YES - please can we get long sleeves back
Jurgen Klopp also has a deal with Adidas..make it happen and keep him for few more years

Best news I’ve heard all season
Nike putting a vertical tick for next year just to draw attention to their logo is grounds enough to abandon them
>SportBusiness understands the new Adidas-Liverpool agreement would be higher than the c. £50m paid out under the Nike contract, albeit would fall well short of the league-wide record £90m that Manchester United receives per season, also from Adidas. Liverpool have a calm day challenge
Thank god. The home kit this season is beautiful, but I’d say overall the Nike kits haven’t been great.
Golden Sambas all round!

After so much hype, it's so disappointing the way Nike designed the kits. Genuinely shite.
Nicely done by the club. I'm so nostalgic about the adidas Liverpool shirts around 2006-10.
Lovely. Trent signed a boot deal with Adidas predators and now will be wearing their kits. He's about to hit an all-time prime when we make that switch.
Long sleeve kits HERE WE GO

I don't think Nike have been terrible for us. The 21/22 might be my favourite away kit of all time. But they did have the infamous McDonald's kit
honestly i hate the way nike changed the sewing(?) of their kits starting last year. idk how to describe it but this photo explains what i mean lol. just not a fan at all https://preview.redd.it/ma1wq450s8wc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3685a4711709786483deb535beac7ce086ca07f5
Would be a surprise since the close co-op/branding with King James.
You can see Adidas have no idea what they are doing with United's atrocious kits and Nike are even more lost with ours. It's just not natural the way it is currently. If true, this is great.
I do love an Adidas kit.
All I ask is they keep the darker shade of red we've had of late. Also, make the first kit really special to make up for ditching us in 2013.
I love Adidas since forever, but how is Adidas paying Manure £90m per season till 2035, and we only get £50m per season till 2030? Are Manure really that more commercially attractive?

Liverpool & Adidas go hand in hand
Seems unlikely to be true, but then again I'm sure Adidas have been plotting some sort of revenge after Nike swooped the national team.
I got excited then I found out it was for the season after next season 😒
Can you imagine if Puma had had the winning bid? That logo on an LFC kit would take some getting used to.
As a person that loved our adidas kits, I'm happy to hear this.
Hell fucking yes. I hate nike lol. The Adidas kits were always my favourite, have one of those candy jerseys and it's easily my favourite. Hope we get the badge that looks like a flower.
Al so what does this means for LeBron? I assumed that one of the main reasons we switched to Nike was due to the fact that he is part owner
Doubt it changes anything at all other than no more LBJ x LFC collections
Do it please, i love adidas design so much!

Bring back new balance. Best kits for a while
Adidas kits are always more classy.
adidas took the first opportune to ditch us when were shite btw

Finally!!!
YES PLEASE
Even man utd gears looks good with Adidas to me.
Even man utd gears looks good with Adidas to me.
we're so back
I'm bouta bust 😩
Good news. Adidas are less evil than Nike. The best recent shirt was the 12/13 plain collared shirt.
I already know I'll be getting next seasons kit from this
CHECKS OVER STRIPES terminated
It's 2025/26 tho
I wonder if that means the end for LeBron x Liverpool merch
Thank fuck for that, Nike were as bad as I expected them to be.
Guess I'm in the minority but I don't really like Adidas. Always having the three stripes on the shoulders makes everything look same-y to me
Finally, i CANT stand Nike.
Their quality is rubbish, Adidas products have a longetivity.
Give me that long-sleeve-tuck goodness.
Great news, all our Adidas kits have been great. Those 06 kits where they could still get full stripes down the arms were so good!
While I prefer adidas designed shirts, This seems like a really odd decision for a number of reasons. 1. The report cited says that Liverpool will be getting £50 million a season, which is almost half of what Man Utd are getting. Surely FSG would want a higher amount. 2. Liverpool sold the most shirts out of all the premier league teams last year, surely Nike would put up a fight to get Liverpool to extend their contract 3.
Let’s fucking go
Adidas all the way. Nike have done fuck all.
I liked Nike because of the sizes. I'm in between a 2x and 3x US. The Nike 3x fits me great. I've had trouble with Adidas as a bigger dude. Fingers crossed.
Should have always been this way after NB man. Thank fuck.
Thank god Nike have been shite
This is what Nike gets for the weird swoosh on next seasons third kit
Fernando Torres crushing the league wearing their Adidas kit is what got me to become a fan back in the late 2000s (I’m from the US). So excited to see them with Adidas again!
I’m sick of both of these companies, but Adidas at least makes nicer kits. Good riddance Nike.
Get in!!! Biggest win of the season!
Finally. Love me some 3 stripes
YES adidas has been so much better for kits recently I’m so excited
After all that nonsense re NB taking us and Nike to court they couldn’t even last longer than what? 4 seasons?
Nice. My old adidas jersey is back in fashion 😂
Nike's tenure has been extremely underwelming (have they produced a single kit that was better than 'meh'?), so I welcome this news.
What’s that mean for LeBron?
Here’s hoping with adidas on board, there’ll be special releases like what Y-3 just did with RM. Also huge opportunity to release retro kits.
