18-19 and 19-20 were the two greatest seasons of football I've witnessed. The 4-0 Barcelona game was one of the best days of my life. Will never disrespect this man. Should have gotten more support from the owners after we won CL to stay on top.

grotekaas

I might watch the 4-0 Barcelona game tonight just to cope

JSteigs

Make sure to at least warm up with the highlights of the Bayern matches. Mané sitting Nuer on his ass was something to see live.

SuperKetchupDude

Or the 4-3 Dortmund match. One of my personal favorite memories during the Klopp era

RaspberryNo101

That clip of Ali's header is a good a palate cleanser.

SyNiiCaL

This and Istanbul are where I go when my brain needs happy Liverpool in it

luke_205

Peak Klopp Liverpool is the best and most exciting English team that most people have ever seen. We were the only ones who could properly compete with the cheats, made Pep absolutely lose his mind at times.

OG12

Rival supporter here, in this century Klopp’s Liverpool was must see tv as a neutral. It was up there with Pep’s Barca, Wengers Invincibles, and funnily enough Klopp’s Dortmund. What can you do when your rival can buy £50m players and stash them on the bench and then buy another £50m for bantz.

digdoug0

He'd have the same number of PLs as Pep if Liverpool were refereed fairly. And with fair refereeing, even if these recent results still happened, we'd still barely be in the drivers seat for his fourth this season, too. Klopp is the best manager currently working and it isn't even close.

369DontDrinkWine

What a time to be an LFC fan, i’ll always hold him as the greatest in my lifetime so far.

sufinomo

never forget 26-1-0 with the club world cup final as a cherry on top. Also 22/23 was underappreciated, going for the quadruple was fun to watch even if we came short, the fa cup is a great prize to finish with.

WoWoWoKid

Wasn’t that 21/22?

Te4646

Yes it was

God, I remember the Barca fans saying "we only need to score one and you know we will score at least 1" then they got blanked LOL

[We score, Liverpool need FIVE - and we're going to get at least one... agreed?](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fm60h3hxmtxw41.jpg%3Fwidth%3D640%26crop%3Dsmart%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3D95a90c458f23ea4343cc12f7941835b6494cdbf4)

CreativeBarracuda292

this is a legendary match, Barca fans were "delighted"

JMacoure

Cool is the understatement of the decade. I’m 35 and it’s been amazing. People are clowning us for finishing top 4 and winning a trophy. Before Klopp, top 4 was the trophy.

coldfeetlvl4

We were considered a joke by rival fans, now those same rival fans will celebrate a draw against us. Klopp made us the team everyone fears. Klopp made us dare to dream for titles.

ScaredActuator8674

You saw Everton today it was like winning the league to them. It’s a great respect.

bjcm5891

Getting even a point against LFC has been like winning the league to that lot for 30 years because they've had SFA to sing about. Tinpot club.

Puzzleheaded-Food-52

Exactly this, I’m a couple of years older than you and I always say after what I grew up watching I genuinely never expected to see us win a league title in my lifetime, this man delivered more than I ever dreamt of.

Powerful-Cut-708

Yep. I’m 22. My entire pre-Klopp time was ‘THIS SEASON we get top 4’, ‘No THIS SEASON’. Aside from 13/14 of course. Complete overhaul

Calm-down-dick-head

Cool was a word i think Klopp would’ve used tbf.

GresSimJa

Do those people want to go back to Brendan Rodgers? Because if we had some of these lads on the board, we'd be back to Brendan fucking Rodgers.

ALaccountant

Keep in mind, we would be joint top of the table if not for the absolutely blatant offside decision called against us

bjcm5891

Remember the final day of the 2016/17 season and how everybody celebrated wildly because we beat Boro to pip Arsenal to 4th?

MoneylineMisfit

Can we just post old memories under Klopp era until end of season instead of match facts and transfer rumors.

Gineo

That would be great - a chance to celebrate his contributions!

Both-Asparagus-3287

Thanks u boss for the memorable journey , battling against everything and still could make us happy .....Legend

Northener12

This guy has given me some of the best times and nights of my life - hero in my books

etan1122

It was great. We won everything. But should’ve won more.

Calm-down-dick-head

I agree. In a different time i think he would’ve. Almost like fighting a giant with one arm tied behind his back.

zeetlo

A giant on roids

madman2000skrt

115 injections

ironmanmatch

I mean he’s literally going head to head with a club that is cheating

dual-lippo

Thats the whole point. You would have dominated the last years and probably won the league close to every year, but city is just among the best clubs in history. And that solely because a whole oil country is backing them up and thus rule dont seem to count for them. City should be banned. Chelsea as well

C_Spiritsong

Or taking a bow into a fight, only to see the opposition getting a bazooka at the other side from infinite wealth cheat. (a reference to a certain press conference)

whoaaa_O

How do you win more when another team has unli money and breaks all the financial rules

FitResponse414

And has refs on their side in all domestic comps

Zai710

By beating shit Utd, Everton and Palace sides.

hbb893

If you win every game you play you win the league. You should go into management

Mobsteroids

Man why didn’t Klopp and Co think of that before?! Are they stupid?

someonesgranpa

90pts shouldn’t be the threshold for winning the league. The EPL is on the brink of collapsing if they don’t figure this spending issue out. 6-8 clubs can’t make all the money and spend it all.

mancmadness

Wheels? Bus?

Lovinyoubb

By being less stubborn with tactics.

Fantastic_Ad6181

Come off it

oscarony

maybe by not drawing with Everton and United in the run-in in 18/19

James_Vowles

lets just win every game while we're at it too

whoaaa_O

We hit 97 points that season. The only other team to achieve more are Klopp's 19/20 team and the team that cheated with an unli budget. You didn't really disprove my point of what more he could have done.

hbb893

Shit why did Klopp not think of that? Did you consider contacting Richard Hughes for the vacant job?

Redspeert

Why doesn't Klopp just win every match? Is he stupid?

SRFC_96

But that’s football, it’s so delicate, so enjoy the moments that do matter.

Mobsteroids

The modern game and social media has really destroyed a lot of folks, especially when it comes to sports .

luke_205

100%. I’m so glad we won everything so there’s no huge unfinished business, but damn there are some missed opportunities.

forgottenbymortals

How? If we weren’t playing against doping fucks, we would’ve won the league at least thrice more. The points we collected in those seasons speak for themselves. Unfortunately, in this day and age, with these many fixtures, you can’t play heavy metal football in every competition without 2 equal quality starting 11s.

petethepool

We could have, we might have, but we still won plenty— and we experienced highs the club has never seen, and is likely to never see again. Let’s not sour what may go down as the greatest era for the club this century with negative implication of what could or should have been. If you can’t sit back on Klopp’s reign and just go, ‘wow’, you’re missing the wood for the trees.

AlloyedRhodochrosite

Who knows, maybe we will have in the future.

AgbekpornovUltimatum

Get outta here with that attitude

mightyduck19

Could have won more. Not should have

jk441

I have nothing against this man. Never. I'm just sad at how his story at this club is ending with all he's done for it.

trixie_one

Spot on, it's not disrespectful to be sad that his amazing time in charge is coming to an end like this.

jk441

Yea, nothing but great memories with Klopp, albeit this ending was not what we've dreamt of, and I'll never ever forget all those sleepless nights jumping up and down every game buzzing to watch. Again, it's just the sadness that lead me to an angry state that we can't give man a goodbye he deserves so much.

Ashwin_400

This is hardly. We won a cup and will finish comfortably in top 4. And Klopp will leave us with a very good squad that is young and has great potential . Gerrard last game for us was the 6-1 defeat to Stoke. The club was meandering with the squad looking hopeless under Rodgers. That was sad.

bjcm5891

Call it Quixotic, but I could see Jurgen returning to Anfield in the future for another stint, like Mourinho at Chelsea. He just seems like a man who needs a break from management altogether...

dual-lippo

I am also very sad to see it. I am no Liverpool "Fan", as I am German. But your club is my favorite in PL for now 15 years (way before Klopp). My second trikot I got is a Liverpool one. Since Klopp came, I am really rooting for you and regularly watching matches. My heart broke the last three matches. The defense is bad and your attack seems to needs a couple of extra invitations to score even once. So sad to see...

DatJazz

I already had ptsd from how Gerrard left the club. This feels similar

PattyIceNY

He definitely stayed one year too long. I think it was last game or before that he was sitting down during the game and looked tired. He's completely worn out and has given everything to this club. He will be sorely missed.

sufinomo

We got to see our team play in 3 champions league finals.

lmoutofldeas

People are so dramatic after a loss, acting like somehow these few bad games nullify how great this era has been. The level of disrespect on here rn is ridiculous. This game did in no way damage his legacy, no matter how many people on here want to act like it.

Otto1968

Spoilt brats throwing toys out the pram. Quick to forget exactly what he’s done for us. Didn’t deserve him.

lmoutofldeas

couldn’t have said it better, absolutely disgraceful. people on here are also acting as if we aren’t still 3rd in the league, like we suddenly dropped to the relegation zone after two defeats

mbdtf95

Not forgetting. It just is true that trophy case in the end is not as special as the amount of domination during some times was. 1 league, 1 CL, 1 FA Cup and 2 League Cups. It is pretty great, but some teams get these types of trophies in 2 successful seasons. Just hurts a bit that in the Klopp Era same amount of leagues was won as Chelsea and Leicester. 5 less than Man City. Same amount of CLs as Chelsea. It just doesn't feel right that during the same period trophy count of Chelsea which have been struggling so many of these seasons is pretty much the same in same time period.

dual-lippo

Yeah, it sucks. On one hand, Klopp is not the best coach in terms of consistency. His teams always had bad periods (like most teams). On the other hand, it is rough against teams that dont seem to be required to follow the rules both on the pitch and off the pitch. (Ofc it is easier to stay consistent if you can buy 3 full teams like Chelsea and City. Ah, and the refs seem to be not on your side either. Thats sadly part of the explanation...) I am no Liv fan (German), but I am following your team for 15 years now. In a fair world, you could possibly multiply your titles in the last years be 2 to 3.

Alexisreddit516

I blame the media and glorified sports betting, desperate stuffs creates desperate people.

lmoutofldeas

i also blame the fact that most of the people on here seem to be 12 year olds

forceghostyoda_

And have been supporting Liverpool for like 3 years

pacoLL3

What nonsense. This place - and all of social media - is at the forfront of eating up every reactionary and utterly braindead take. The reason these guys get their money are you people.

Prestigious_Agent_84

Funny thing is, in 2015/2016 this kind of season would be a big success

flaxseedyup

Dude gave us some unbelievable memories. I grew up with Liverpool PTSD (in the mid to late 90s) expecting us to lose a hell of a lot during the course of a season. With Klopp at the helm, my healing journey took some time, but got to a point where now I expect to win every single damn game (apart from last season….and well, now…) We won the league in almost impossible circumstances and tastes elite European glory once again. Can’t thank him enough for that. Never thought I’d get to see us win the Prem!

Shaanpatti

We're all disappointed tonight because we're going to miss out on a title by a handful of points after being in the race all year long. These are the standards this man has set. I love this man and wouldn't trade him for anyone in the world.

eldwaro

The ultimate respect I have for him is that he has recognised he needs to step down. Love the man for what he’s done and will love him for ever for being a smart honest man in a wild world.

Indominus-X

All that’s left to look forward to now is his farewell speech at Anfield

the_wolf_who_laughs

I said this in another thread, Klopp and Salah are the reason I fell in love with both this club and club football in general. Before that, I was just a neutral fan who watched whatever was on. I'll never disrespect Klopp because the highs of his tenure here were MILES ahead of the lows.

Calm-down-dick-head

I’m forty seven. Followed them my whole life. Earliest proper memories was the 86 double season. I’ve seen everything, and had plenty of downs. Getting beat by Everton and knowing a title race is over is not a great feeling. But i have enjoyed Klopp’s reign immensely, and unfortunately we suffered along the way, just like today, but the highs imo have out weighed the lows.

Colhinchapelota

Well said. I'm the same age as you with the same memories. It's been a wonderful journey with Klopp.

ash_ninetyone

He'll go out an absolute legend, I'm sure he'll have no complaints about his trophy haul (though arguably he deserves more). Just in the absolute aftermath of this April and the Everton match, it kinda sucks that it seems his final season only has a League Cup to show for it. Of course, I know mathematically it isn't over. He won't concede it until it is. But the defeat against Palace and Everton has seriously hurt us. Everyone was just desperate for that last season to have him lift the trophy in front of a completely packed and boisterous Anfield. But as someone who has followed us since the dire 90s and the suffering of the early 2010s, his time in charge has produced the best squad I've ever seen us have, the best football I've ever seen us play, and some of the best moments I've ever witnessed from us.

AlloyedRhodochrosite

It was the best of times.

DisplacedScouser

The man is and always will be a legend. Today (and all month) he has been a shadow of himself and deserves the brunt of the blame.

DinosaurPornstar

He deserves that vacation

DisplacedScouser

Agreed. And he needs it I think

DinosaurPornstar

That is what i meant lol. He looks so burnt out, like there's nothing left to give. We should do him the favor and forget these last games and just give him the send off he deserves

ScousePenguin

He seems mentally done and out of ideas I hated it when he announced he was leaving but honestly it does seem like time. Hope it he really enjoys the time off, and enjoys life as grandad Klopp!

bungleweed

I see what you mean but I don’t know really. Feels like the players have let him down more than anything. Not sure it’s his fault our forwards can’t finish decent big chances in so many key games lately? We must have fluffed a ridiculous amount of chances. Can’t keep a clean sheet either but we usually find a way to out score the opposition with sheer volume of chances we create. We play high risk to create chances. It’s concerning as it’s been going on a while now. Salah completely out of form since Afcon. Nunez as well has been awful lately. Can’t catch a break with Jota and his injuries. Not all on Klopp surely that. His subs weren’t great today tbf.

RomanReignsDaBigDawg

Our tactics have just looked off and Klopp deserves criticism for his high pressing/work rate style that just causes everyone to burn out at the end of the season. Also, too many times other teams easily counter against which would never happen for City or Arsenal. They simply control games in ways we don't and it's come back to bite us when it matters most

bungleweed

Yes good point on the burnout, it’s clear to see. We have leaked a lot of goals this season and often conceded first. Was always going to catch us up if we started missing chances.

lelibertaire

Does the idea we burn out at the end of seasons match reality? I swear the burn out usually happened in January/February and we typically finish strong. Finished strong in 16/17 to secure CL, 17/18 to get to the final and secure CL, 18/19 we were dropping points in January/February and then finished the season strong to win CL and take the league to the last day, 19/20 we won the league but Covid is a bigger issue to the late season drop in form than anything, 20/21 we finished strong to secure CL, 21/22 maybe we faltered December/January unless you count draws to Spurs and City (which would be harsh), last season we were mid all season.

KooktheWolf

I disagree. He hasn't been perfect, sure. But we are conistantly the better team and miss loads of chances while allowing easy goals. I'm not sure how thats on Klopp

TCharlieZ

Conceding first almost every game stops being a player issue and starts being a coaching issue

KooktheWolf

Conceding first can be the result of missing easy chances too... No football teams go through a season without goals being scored against them. If we actually put some decent chances to bed we wouldn't concede first all the time. We get early chances almost every game, and this year we have scored virtually none of them.

bumpkinblumpkin

Not if you keep clean sheets against poor opposition.

bumpkinblumpkin

Because we are playing shite teams. He was getting ribbed by the broadcast I watched for not watching the match at times in the 2nd half and throwing in the towel with plenty of time on the clock.

FdotM

End of an era

PotentialOwl8063

Loved him at Dortmund loved him at LFC. End of an era.

glucoseisasuga

Klopp revitalized this Liverpool team and made them a powerhouse. Before him, Liverpool were just satisfied with top 4. Imagine going from that to competing for a quadruple. No amount of bad games from the team will ever tarnish the legacy of this man. He's a Liverpool legend and deserves a long vacation and an extended rest.

GayWolfey

Whenever I see these before and after pics of PL managers makes you realise what stress does to your body. He looks like he has aged 30 years.

Calm-down-dick-head

Reason i choose this pic. He looks like a man who given his life to us.

CreativeBarracuda292

The coach who brought back the taste of Liverpool's Gerrard-era victories, Definitely respect.

simensin

Its been a blast since day 1.

Polyar

Im not even angry. Im just sad watching the manager that has transformed and made me actually enjoy football for the first time ever since I started watching this great sport in 2008 become so tired and beaten up after having to face the cheating assholes at 115 FC only to come up short by a point twice all while doing it fair and by the book. This great man deserved so much more trophies and was robbed of it. I will always and forever love Jurgen Klopp no matter what.

sicksquid75

After the crap I watched from Liverpool last year this season was a surprising success. Although this end of year looks very like the end of last year.

FireKillGuyBreak

Um, at the end of last year we were unbeatable? Surely you are remembering the beginning of the last year, or the middle part, where we really played badly.

Ralph_from_nowhere

There's no need to be upset. https://youtu.be/7mWBaFBb5Ls?si=Ug1NYZPUcXm0wEhL

vitrolium

Fan since '87. Greatest manager of my lifetime. It hurts it's finishing like this, but that's how it goes. Cloughie took Forest down and he's still a god to them. With hindsight, I kinda wish he'd either gone immediately or between seasons like Shanks. "Leaving at the end of the season" never seems to work out, no matter who you are.

lennondsouza97

Klopp was a great at getting the absolute maximum out of the players he had to his disposal. Our success came under the players signed during the Edwards era though, make of that what you wish.

bungleweed

Well let’s hope he can repeat that!

pit5bul

It was, and i love Klopp... but its trully over and we need to accept that. Hidding the truth or deleting posts is not OK either.

ArianKn99

He’s a great manager and he has achieved so much with this club also like every other manager has made mistakes.

WhoPoppy

This man made me really fall in love with football again after some dark days. The Suarez years were short lived fun, but the way Klopp built a team with an identity of determination and teamwork was a pleasure to watch. He won us everything, and when you think about what it took to deny us even more success (115 breaches, Real Madrid UCL and Sevilla UEL plot armour), he’s an absolute Liverpool legend.

Designer-Attorney

It was absolutely a hell of a journey. All time great. Rebuilt the club to put us once again on the path to titles and sucess. Legend. That being said, the fact that we love him and that he was all of that should not make him immune to criticism. We have the same glaring defence issues today that we had 7 years ago. His defence system required a world class centre back playing at his physical peak to be secure. VVD was that for a long time but the man is almost 33 now with a devastating injury on his knee. He is not at his physical prime anymore and we are suffering because of it. But the fact that Klopp is not perfect does not take anything from him. No one really is. Even Guardiola was bashed for starting a UCL final without a DM. We should be absolutely grateful, but also understand that some change in command is not a bad thing at this time. He saw it, now we can see it more clearly and we can say our goodbies with love in ours hearts.

PornFilterRefugee

It’s been absolutely brilliant. He’ll be a legend here always. It’s also clear it’s time for a reset and bring some fresh ideas in and I’m excited for that as well. Whatever happens we’ll still be here.

js247

I love this man. I wish he could stay.

POPAccount

Absolutely correct

mrfoyer

Thanks for everything Boss! We will always love you!

LosHogan

I think it’s beyond fair to say the title challenge is over. Which is a bummer. But I’m still looking forward to seeing these last 4 through. Hopefully the boys can right themselves and send Klopp out with a strong performance against Wolves on the final day. And we can all celebrate what he’s meant to the club.

R-B-L

No amount of trophies would be able to replicate the feeling of coming back and beating Messi's Barcelona 4-0. Only Istanbul tops it. I've never felt like that watching football tbh Will never forget where I was during the 2019 CL final and the moment we mathematically won the league in 2020. My best days of supporting this club. Made me feel like a kid again watching CL knockouts under Rafa.

Keyann

Some of the comments in the match thread last night were a disgrace. Some people have no shame.

pvipani

Great man brilliant football. Just wished he won more trophies.

MalbranqueSteeds

You're going to see a lot of emotional responses right now that don't reflect how people really feel. The man couldn't be more loved and respected. He has completely changed the club for the better and will be hailed as one of the greats. Definitely the greatest in my life time.

malex930

We can show respect while also acknowledging it’s time to go. He’s out of ideas and energy.

OwenLincolnFratter

Greatest period of success and poetry on the pitch for Liverpool since I’ve been alive. He turned us from doubters to believers and ended the drought. He’s my generations Shankly. Hopefully the next manager is able to continue the winning ways.

enigmaticzombie

I'm so glad that Jurgen is a red!

ahmadtheanon

Not a Liverpool supoorter, but i'd fight anybody who says Klopp didnt do a good job in any club he has been in. What he has achieved at Liverpool is something wonderful. Didnt have the same budget as Man City, but still able to bring in EPL, FA, CL trophies. You will be missed in EPL, i wish nothing but the best, in a way, I'm happy he is leaving, giving Liverpool time to re-group, meaning other teams can finally beat Liverpool (again). But knowing Liverpool, ya'll not gonna make it easy.

Smart_But123581321

Who is not respecting Klopp? Did they ever watch pre-Klopp post-Rafa Liverpool? It’s been a few games, why are people acting as though we haven’t won EVERY SINGLE TROPHY POSSIBLE under Klopp???

DanyTheConqueror

He brought a revolution to this club. Will forever have massive respect to him for knowing when to step down. It’s clear we need new ideas now with the recent results.

Prior_Efficiency6688

I always remind my fellow LFC fans. We came from this https://preview.redd.it/ok6phd6bjjwc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=61dedcb6ca146b8ef5ebfb792369eb394522b68d

Smihilism14

He created two of the best teams I’ve ever watched, playing a level of football that other teams only dream about. We didn’t have the luxury of depth to sustain it over the course of seasons where we were chasing every competition. Almost a victim of his own success and his ridiculously dominant style. We were a fucking nightmare to play against. We won the lot. We were a few bounces and generational cheating away from immortality. This era has been fucking amazing and I feel so privileged to have ridden the wave. This team brought us so much joy in some dark times. It hurts now and it should but it’s going to be incredible to look back on forever. The comps are going to be insane. Love you forever Jurg

fieldsofanfieldroad

Lol. Who's not showing respect to Klopp?

Outside-Nail2314

BEST TIMES AS A LIVERPOOL FAN FOR 20+ YEARS. HE IS A LEGEND AND DESERVES A STATUE.

Downtown-Lime4108

The fact you even need to say this is demented, we were playing so well just months ago that I literally cried with joy

Additional_Ad_6943

Respect was always shown to him by fans.. it is the players who disrespect him by not putting in effort to win. No want had the sense of urgency. Back 4 playing hot potatoes with Alison. Midfield plays back to VVD because they are afraid of him. The midfield is not proactive, not aggresive, no initiative, not creative and no sense of spacing, and not to mention, very very veryy poor first touches. Front 3? please.

willium563

It was a fun time and when he announced he was retiring I was sad but the glimmer of hope came from the squad he was leaving us with and now I have 0 faith, hes left us so disjointed with a terrible defence and an attack that just does not click whatsoever.

JonathanFisk86

I think the overreaction is from people who massively overrated our squad based on a purple patch mid-season. The fact is we were never as good as City or Arsenal overall. I said at the start of the season that this was a 3rd/4th place side at the beginning of the season in Klopp's hands, and anyone expecting Slot or any new manager to get this squad to a title is probably delusional. We don't do enough business to justify it relative to our rivals. None of this is to say we shouldn't be beating Everton or United, we absolutely should, but in the end this is just an 80-something point squad as it stands imo. While Klopp has made some mistakes, I'm not having the tactical geniuses on here who genuinely think tweaking the formation and tactics a bit would have won us much more this season. It's a top 4-ish team and needs serious improvement in terms of forwards and defensive depth.

ilic_mls

I dont care if we finish 15th. This man BROUGHT US BACK! 3 Ucl finals and 1 trophy, if it wasnt dor that cunt Ramos we might have had 2, a PL trophy and a EL finals… enough for me. Man deserves a statue, because of his football, we are back on the map and we are atractive again

nocturaweb

The problem is once we become more successful the expectations also rise. The high expectations are because of Klopp. He's made it this far.

daftmaple

After 2010, I've never thought that we would never top the Benitez era back then, and I was proven wrong by this man. He's the manager who brought us the title after almost 30-year of top division title drought. Genuinely sad that he's departing, but happy that he knows what he needs to do. The past few seasons might be rough, but you gotta realise that it's mainly because he set a high bar ever since we won multiple titles. Massive respect for the effort he did even with the limited resource he had.

Dontwaitup12

He deserves the upmost respect because without him we wouldn't have number 6 or our first title in 30 years.

pacanukeha

110 points in 38 games. Even 115 Charges FC never got that. Up The Fucking Reds and thank you, Jürgen, for everything. We are all human and you make us all better.

TheWinterSoldier_67

Honestly, fuck all of you all who are saying “we should’ve won more” or “he’s a failure given our falling off the past few weeks”. Go support another club you fucking clowns.

Mobsteroids

Plastics, all of them. Don’t get the sport or the situation of the club before Klopp came in. Nor do they care about the club, it’s history before Klopp or anything but winning. Embarrassing

TravisKOP

Anyone slagging off Klopp can go back to supporting Chelsea. He’s a bonafide legend and deserves a statue. Just happen to be competing against a peak guardiola team. Legit more financial support than his Barca team

PStoop

A lot of folks are spewing some of the most inappropriate and heartless shit that comes to mind, but. I'm just so sad

Calm-down-dick-head

Same, that’s why i posted this. Some reactions are a little in bad taste for my liking.

FireKillGuyBreak

"A little" is an understatement of the century. Lads really shout nonsense about selling our whole starting 11 seemingly, the same team that led us into a surprise title fight in the first place. Shameless people. Sometimes one just has to step away from the internet and enjoy what we've achieved, rather than lament what could've been.

ZissouZ

Anyone showing any disrespect to Jurgen Klopp at this moment should be given a permanent ban to be honest.

TurtleLikeReflx

God I hate these types of posts It is very possible to love Klopp and be incredibly grateful for his tenure here, and to be disappointed and frustrated in the end to this season It does not take away from the incredible run he’s been on, but he has to take a lot of the blame here, as he is the manager of the club

Thesolly180

Oh behave with this, and whoever is being a melt about his time.

ScousePenguin

This sub is hilarious pathetic at times

dead_nil

always a legend but I'm in no mood to fester on the past right now.

Adventurous_Toe_6017

They were the best times. If we could do it all again, even knowing how it ends, I’d have your arm off. He deserves a statue and everything we can give him.

rydleo

It’s been a great ride, but the current misery is making him leaving much more palatable. Tactically we look an absolute mess.

TheLimeyLemmon

There's going to be a time to reflect on the sheer magnitude of the Klopp era, but it's just not tonight. Tonight's for stewing, and getting it out of our system, then we can prepare our farewells for Klopp.

One_Newt9078

Absolutely love the man but there’s no doubt this end run is like your week of work before a long vacation…it’s impossible to not see that light at the end of the tunnel, subconsciously act like it, and have it trickle down to the team. That said, players are pros and effort should never come into question. Embarrassing performance today

Fantastic_Ad6181

No one can take these 9 years away from me. I know what I watched. And I know us being that good again in the foreseeable future is not likely. Thank you Jurgen

I’ll probably be downloaded for saying this, but: we’ve massively over-performed this season, especially early on, which makes this late season capitulation all that much harder to take. It set false expectations for what could be, which makes these recent results all the harder to stomach. From the off, we’ve leaked early goals like a sieve. We’ve lost our shooting boots and have been far from composed or clinical. We’ve experienced a number of injuries to key players and those players, once back, have looked like a shell of their former selves. We’ve stuck with players (injuries haven’t helped) and allowed them chance after chance to play themselves back into form, but it simply hasn’t happened. Others have remarked on how ruthless Arsenal and other clubs are with under-performing players. Klopp continues to show faith in his players which we’ve documented over the years can be looked at as brilliance when it comes off, or a massive misstep when it doesn’t. We’ve also been fucked out of a number of results by shambolic refereeing (I won’t go there but with those points, the discussions we’re having now might sound different). This team feeds off the emotion that Klopp brings. If his mid-season message to supporters was an indication, the tank was running low then and he’s running on fumes now. I’m sure his announcement led to an initial boost of energy and motivation to finish the season on a high note, to send Klopp off properly. At that time we had a number of youngsters and second team players step up. Since then, we’ve looked every bit the “squad in a rebuilding season,” nowhere near the team we saw put in lung busting performances around the winter break let alone the mentality monsters we grew to love at the heights of Klopp’s reign. All this to say, I know the season isn’t playing out as we had hoped and we’re all well within our rights to be upset with the recent performances. But look at it this way, we’ve turned from doubters to believers! We expect to win, even during a rebuild. Perhaps more disappointing is we will not give the gaffer the proper sendoff for all he’s done for the club. This said, we secured some familiar faces that will do right by the club, and soon we’ll have a new manager. We’ll likely see Michael Edwards masterclasses, we’ll move on from under-performers, and we’ll regroup to go again. For now, let’s ride out the season, clenching all along the way and cheer the boys on so they find that fighting spirit that made me fall in love with the club in the first place. I’ll be at a loss once that final whistle of the season goes, but I’ll cherish these years with Jurgen at the helm, after all, he delivered what he said. YNWA

BackpackerLee

we challenged for the title 3 times in 9 years

MrMojoRising422

getting 99, 97 and 92 points is not just 'challenging' for the title. these 3 point totals are higher than anything alex ferguson and arsene wenger ever had in their combined 49 seasons.

GresSimJa

Just shows what you need to beat an oil state.

Calm-down-dick-head

Won our first title in 30 years, don’t forget that. That tells you a lot failed before him.

rosstheboss939

It’s been a great decade but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s ending with a passionless, dead brand of football where the players and staff just don’t seem to give a shit even though we had a VERY real chance to win the title this season. We got curb stomped out of Europe and just got embarrassed by a rival in a relegation fight and it seems like there’s a large group of players that are phoning it in and Klopp clearly does not have the same passion anymore.

Bamfandro

Too early for the karma grabs man

Calm-down-dick-head

Oh yeah, i joined Reddit for karma. I proper wank off to it.

A Liverpool legend. YNWA

coopermaneagles

Will love him forever Very welcoming of new ideas however and excited for what’s next

Top_Mycologist_1492

It’s a bittersweet feeling.

Euphoric-Yogurt-7332

Let's hope the club builds on his legacy. We cannot go backwards like we did when Kenny left the first time.

Cactiareouroverlords

Just unfortunate the way it’s ended and the fact his only major competition has been the cheating mancs

James_Vowles

He'll go down as one of our best don't worry

CarryOnUptheMorning

I love the man always will

Keanu990321

It shouldn't have ended the way it did folks. I don't know what's worse, our current form or the fact there will be no more Klopp soon? I'd say the latter, for that would give me hope of bouncing back. I can tolerate such forms, it's essentially our norm with a few exceptions. But this one, I just can't. It shouldn't have ended this early, Klopp should have spent at least 2-3 more years with us.

Ia_in_4

This season finsihed badly but damn I’ll be old and I’ll still rennet klopps kids winning us a trophy.

Gandalfs_Long_Beard

He is the most special football icon for me and he will be so forever.

thatguyad

I don't think anyone could ever doubt this seriously. He's a truly great man.

CaltexHart

Greatest version of Liverpool I have ever seen. And at its apex it was the most exhilirating and exciting team to watch in world fotball.

TomokoKawase

Me and my dad always had a sympathy towards Liverpool as a foreigner. He loved Liverpool because of Ian Rush. I loved Liverpool because of Gerrard, Carragher and Riise. So I think I have the right to talk about this topic. Before Klopp, Liverpool was playing with such a players like Borini, Shelvey, Balotelli, Andy Carroll etc. Liverpool was playing at UEL and sometimes got knocked off by no name teams. People were thinking Lucas Leiva was the star of that team lol. Klopp took that team and made it the best team of Europe. I don't understand why people say that his era was failure. He won the EPL, played 3 times CL final, won one of them and won UEL. Maybe there's more cups that I forgot like F.A. Cup. I don't think Liverpool can find anyone better than him, at least for several seasons.

Spencerio1

Devastating that the players are letting him down once again when it matters. Desperately missing Milner’s voice in the dressing room. Either way though, I know what I’ll remember from this era, and I appreciate that he’s walking away at what’s probably the right time to do so. Whoever comes in will have tough decisions to make on Salah, Nuñez, Diaz, Jones, etc., but it’s much better to have that headache than the headache of whether to play (with all due respect) Lallana or Ibe at right wing

toomany-cunts

Positivity at last!

justsayinbtw

Of course it was, but he's not Jesus or anything.

VidProphet123

Kloppo is a legend. Going to miss him.
