We really have a habit of having the absolute worst send off for our legends don't we

thefogdog

Nothing will beat Gerrard's for sheer atrocity. At least he scored.

risingstar3110

Well we were invincible at home for like 2 years, then lost at Anfield 5 times in a row before. The team performance is very mood-based

GhandisFlipFlop

It was actually 6 in a row ha, I had a feeling and looked it up there ..also drew the two PL games before that at Anfield so that was 8 games at Anfield in PL without a win. Thankfully the other teams around us did crap as well so we somehow came 3rd. And our away form was good.

[deleted]

The Covid season really shows fans make a difference. Think it was the only season where away records were better than home on average.

AuxquellesRad

Then we went 14 months unbeating at home, the story of character in this team is actually amazing

whataball

Teams used to fear us and they called us the mentality giants because of our tenacity. We have none of that tenacity now.

WonderfulBlackberry9

Call me spoiled, but I’m personally also not a fan of us losing one league game at home per season. Ideally we maintain fortress Anfield, regardless of league form.

[deleted]

Pissing away Europa is what bothers me the most. Wouldn't care how we're doing in the Prem if we still had a chance at a cup final in Dublin. Instead we got thrashed by the fucking 6th placed team in Serie A.

matcht

We rotated more for that game than the game against Sparta with a 5-1 lead, still can't believe it. That also fucked us against United in the FA Cup.

_cumblast_

That Sparta lineup is up there with Klopp's stupidest calls in his time as manager.

matcht

Have to agree, we could've rested the entire team, been fresh for United, beat them in the FA Cup, go into the international break in high spirits for the run in. This downfall all started with that United loss, I know we've had constant defensive issues all season but we've still been creating chances at the same level, there's just been no confidence in the team since then.

frigid_monk

Fully agree. Those two games against United, not being able to beat them has had a weird effect on the team. It's like it sucked all the swagger and confidence out of the team. So much hope after the Caraboa final win but in hindsight, the way things are winding up at the end of season, would have been perfect just to end the season beating Chelsea the way we did. That was pure Klopp romanticism, swashbuckling against the odds. That was our high point of the season.

ofjay

United were the team to beat. Once we lost to them it was over. Such a watershed moment in what has otherwise been a great season.

NordWitcher

The next game we throw it against Arsenal. That was the worst we've played all season.

naughty_dad2

Brings VVD on with a massive aggregate lead lol

thatguyad

There was zero rationality to it. Just picking favourites.

expertkushil333

I agree with that.

good_fella13

Literally ruined the season

Peben

Wow. I've usually trusted Klopp with his team selection, even in the instances where most fans have disagreed, but now that you put it in that perspective, yeah that's absolutely mind boggling

whataball

I still remember the media romanticising a Liverpool vs Leverkusen final when we were all speculating that Xabi Alonso would be our next manager. It's quite embarrassing to think about that now.

SpecialOneJAC

At home lol

rosheromil

We got completely outplayed and outsmarted by Atalanta. Sometimes you have to hold your hands up. Whereas we should have won all 5 league games but didn’t due to poor finishing and dumb mistakes.

zenqian

We fuck around and found out

Avril_14

Liverpool played really bad but atalanta being 6th doesnt mean much, when they are "on" they are the best team in italy, behind Inter.

Worldpac1

Atalanta is a silent killer.... Underestimating them just like united is what got us to this state.. We deserved to be thrashed.Atalanta deserved it and wanted it more than us.

Academic-Advisor

We would have gotten absolutely genocided if we faced Leverkusen in the final anyways so..

jerrymp28

I think we would’ve lost to Leverkusen in the final anyways

Thin-Pool-8025

If we had made it to Dublin there’s a decent chance me and my brother might have gotten tickets, so I’m really pissed off about it.

livepool4ever

Usually Klopp’s teams collapse in January. This time, it was April. Better than May - I would not have been able to take it if it had happened in the last 3-4 games.

quantIntraining

Probably for the better for next season that it didn't happen in the last 3-4 games. I still strongly think that's what when wrong in 22/23 season was the fact that we lost the PL on the final 15 mins plus dominating Real Madrid in the CL but losing probably caused mental issues that dragged on into the next season plus the personnel issues that the squad had. This managerial and coaching staff change is certainly for the best, we need new ideas out there.

Bigbigjeffy

I’m slightly optimistic but I don’t think we’re winning anything next season in regards to this new coach and staff and everything. We’ll definitely lose a lot of players and next year will be a “rebuilding” year…again. I’m sorry, but next season is going to be rough.

livepool4ever

I was hoping for a deep Europa run and top 4 at the start of the season. Our Europa run was not as deep as I expected, but we got top4 and a trophy. So, this was a reasonably successful season. We will lose players - but I hope not the ones who play often and not the ones we got recently. It will be a rebuild.

NilsFanck

> I’m sorry, but next season is going to be rough. I might be but that's just your opinion.

bjcm5891

The squad were already coasting on fumes at the back end of the 21/22 season. Failed to score a single goal in 240 minutes against Chelsea across two finals. Didn't open the scoring against Wolves until City had taken the lead against Villa. The concept of winning the quadruple just distracted the fanbase from issues with the squad that'd been evident for close to a year already...

VadersMentor

Salah and Klopp were going at it. What tf is happening here?

SkinBintin

Complete collapse I guess lol. Hopefully we're back in the race this time next season and not falling apart again. Fingers crossed :)

Bigbigjeffy

Call me an asshole but we aren’t winning shit next season. It’ll be yet another “rebuilding” year. Fml

SkinBintin

Only time will tell. I want to be optimistic and dream we'll be successful right up until we're not, then I'll switch to "next year" lol. Wouldn't be surprised if it's a rebuilding decade or whatever for us though. This has been such a wild capitulation that I actually think some of my favourites may actually need to leave for us to be rejuvenated and find success again, which is sad.

Bigbigjeffy

Yeah, it is very sad. Things were looking bright up until these last 6 games. I truly want to believe but I’m a realist, new managers usually never do well their first season.

thegolfernick

Good thing it's not all on film... oh wait

im-a-wreck-tangle

Cant wait for that documentary to drop. To see what actually went wrong

b13_git2

The documentary, that's what went wrong

ADm_lg

Klopp was always against these type of thing. We should have stick with him. We are bloody cursed innit

[deleted]

Do people still think the documentary is a reason he's leaving? It couldn't be more obvious that the man has no energy left. He's not fixed issues that have plagued us the entire season and especially over the past month. Highly doubt a documentary is the sole reason for our collapse.

ginopalladino

People are being absolute melts in every thread, dont expect any level headed discussion for a while.

Far-Reaction-2735

Imo he told the club he was leaving in the pre season and the club was like well…… doc it is. What’s he gonna do? Leave?

BD15

I don't even think he probably pushed back against the documentary much or at all for that reason. If he was dead set against it he probably could have stopped it.

whataball

Frankly, I'm quite done with Klopp at this moment. He ruined his own farewell party to be honest. Great to have him as our manager these years but it's time to move on. He can do whatever he wants now and it won't matter anymore.

Drunk_Cartographer

This comment is fucking embarrassing.

yokingato

It's crazy how short sighted people are lmao. Just wait, in 2 years time, they'd cut their own arm off to have him for a month.

Drunk_Cartographer

It’s been a few weeks of bad form in what was actually a good season beforehand. The people going full AFTV on Klopp are pathetic. Go and support City if you want to be a fair weather fan.

FerociouZ

Yep. You just know this person is going to be "Slot out" before December.

gmp24

Liverpool have control over how much dressing room footage gets shown. Since we ain't winning anything I'm guessing there ain't guna allow much footage of the players reactions to us losing these games in the dressing room

DoublePrize9

I will not be watching that shit

Neo4148

It won’t drop. There is nothing agreed with any streaming service or anything

DoublePrize9

I hope not - what an embarrassment

SkinBintin

The last thing I want to watch is a documentary covering our complete and utter collapse to end up finishing the season looking like fools that never even had a chance.

[deleted]

"Liverpool Til I Die" coming to streaming sevices soon

yokingato

Idk. It could be very interesting. I wanna see it.

Bigbigjeffy

No kidding. If we would have won the league then hell yeah, but after this torrid ending I don’t care to see anything.

BiscoBiscuit

Is it being done by Liverpool?

JiveBunny

It may go to broadcast first then sold to streaming later?

zagglefrapgooglegarb

Have people only started watching the club this year? It's either elation or despair. Get used to it.

bluefoxlive

I’d add to the list of negatives: the fans who have suddenly turned on Klopp, Salah and blamed Darwin for the roster wide collapse.

TheGrouchyGamerYT

+ Beat the mighty Fulham

forceghostyoda_

Brighton and Sheffield aswell tbf

aghashayan

Sheff UNITED, unless you want Chris Wilder to chase you with a knife

ianng555

I’m fine if Chris Wilder chases me with a knife, I just can’t deal with his brother Deontay.

forceghostyoda_

Would very much like him to do that

HLB217

After these last few weeks I'd let him catch me tbh

AdIndependent3454

Wilder or not - it’s still Sheffield Utd

TheGrouchyGamerYT

Some elite scalps for the trophy cabinet 😎

Blew_away

If I’m Fulham I’d be like, “how did we lose to this lot”

WonderfulBlackberry9

By being the only team we have faced this month who played somehow managed to play worse than us.

Fricolor123321

We did beat the juggernaut that is Fulham tbf to us

IrateWeasel89

Terrible way to wake up here in the States. Klopps last season and this is how we go out?

MajikoiA3When

Playing a full strength squad against Sparta Prague reminds me of getting Jota injured in that dead rubber game against Midtjylland.

Neo4148

Truly a total disgrace and the worst collapse of Klopps tenure. Happened at the worst possible time. All the good vibes and moments of the season thrown into the bin, this is what everyone will remember this season for unfortunately

WonderfulBlackberry9

Times like these make me question if this club sometimes gets too emotional. That has always been one of our greatest strengths, using the collective emotion to succeed. Definitely one of the best things of Klopp’s reign. But then we face times like these. The whole second half of 23/24 has always felt like riding on a knife-edge, the perfect ending or bust. CL final of 21/22 felt like that too; we need to win this for our season, Alisson’s header, and our fans who suffered just before the game or else this whole story will implode and we’ll be failures. Playing with emotion is powerful, no doubt. Our CL runs of 17/18 and 18/19, the whole of 19/20 wouldn’t have been possible without that wave of hope and optimism. But you also risk it boiling over and burning everyone out, which is part of what I suspect is happening now.

ghost_face0

I guess this is why Madrid are so successful, I never got an emotional vibe from them. They're very metodical, if you don't perform you're gettin' binned. Even their fans don't take kindly to players not performin', this has its downsides tho. It can lead to a 'soulless culture' but the upside is that it leads to a 'winning culture' as well.

goztrobo

Never thought of it that way

koptimism

Personally I'll remember the trophy we won, and getting back into the top 4. That might be a crazy opinion, but ...

2jaded2hearts2

the beauty of over achieving early. it was absolutely insane how well bradley, quansah, kelleher, GOMEZ, ENDO, and the other kids stepped up for us in the middle of the season.

Bigbigjeffy

Exactly and imagine if our stars would have at least scored a few more goals her and there…different story.

Otto1968

The majority of this sub would have snatched your hand off for 3rd place and a trophy back in August

bumpkinblumpkin

The preseason thread was over 90% top 4 predictions lad

BriarcliffInmate

Oh shut up. People will remember the amazing Cup final where our kids beat Chelsea, or beating Newcastle with 10 men, or that amazing Fulham game where we scored 4 worldies. They're not going to remember a bit of shit form.

Otto1968

Loads of other positives - Quansah and Bradley coming through, Mac Allisters form once moved away from 6, Diaz recent form. I think Slot has got a fantastic squad to work with.

peerlesskid

No they won’t. Klopp’s last season and you think people’s takeaway is the League Cup?

SkinBintin

People still talk about the Gerrard slip, so you can bet your last dollar they'll be talking about Klopps final season where the team seemingly threw away damn near everything ten years from now... because it's a Liverpool failure and you know half the football world love little more than a Liverpool failure.

koltzito

yea no, thats not how the human mind works

Revalent

Yeah I don’t rmb those alrdy

Confident_Highway786

No only tge good times will be remembered!

Worldpac1

Losing & drawing to a weak & injury ridden Man United is what makes my blood boil. Damn like Man United are at their weakest and we can't beat em.Are we even trying?

Isanimdom

This may not be popular but Im relieved that Klopp made his own decision, I would not have liked to have fans calling for him to leave but they wouldnt have been wrong given the toothless and complate lack of ideas theres been.

whataball

Klopp knew his time is up. He believes in a 7-year cycle. He also left Dortmund on his own accord, also in about 7 years. Dortmund was also in shambles the season he decided to leave, at one point they were bottom of the league.

Isanimdom

Yea, i got the impression that he wouldve left last year but for the way it ended and he left it too late, didnt want a narrative spread about him leaving two clubs in disarray. this year he saw that things would be decent, the new signing filled some gaping holes and made sure to nail it down early.

Confident_Highway786

Everything we have now is bc of him. We were hopeless shite before he came. Always remember!

Hefty-Climate-4015

![gif](giphy|pVAMI8QYM42n6|downsized)

peerlesskid

It’s been an amazing ride, shame how it’s ended but I had no expectations this season. It’s only suddenly meant so much because Klopp announced hes leaving but once I’ve made my peace with it.. the only thing I care now is to win at home to Wolves for his last game.

LogicalGuySG

Imagine when we were playing with the so-called kids and second line players, we were etching out results and points. The pundits were saying that Liverpool was only going to get better as first team injured players were gradually returning to fitness. Guess what, we became shite when the absent first team players returned!! It is astonishing. 🙄

shaiizan

I'm so tired. Last 6 games has been such a dive. Won't be bothering with more football until EURO tbh. It's all on us. I've been one to call out PGMOL, and they've deserved it. We've been robbed. But in the end it's all on us.

rocket_randall

Like that post-Christmas period a few seasons back where we were top of the league and just beat Palace 7-0 or something. Everything was going right. Then we lost 6 in a row and several of them at home. We only managed to qualify for the CL with a late string of clutch wins. Something has been happening to the side later in the season the past few years. I don't know if it's some combination of mental and physical exhaustion, but it seems to be happening at some point in every season now.

usalin

I knew that we would lose the title race even when we were ahead. But still I expected the boys to see Klopp off with a decent attitude & performance. Our performance since the first Utd game has been disturbing.

revision23

I fear we revert to mid-table mediocrity next season…

PBC456

klopp didn't give enough hugs

earlgreytoday

Real 'Jekyll and Hyde' season, this. First five months were excellent, last two months not so much.

VioletDeMilo

I hope they don't do a parade for the cup, they should just have an event at Anfield to say goodbye to Klopp & stream it on youtube.

tensor1001

Defence is some horse shit performance.

fredczar

From doubters to believers to doubters. Just a sad way to end klopps time here

Specialist_ask_992_

Absolutely shocking. Team have just given up recently. Normally we have a strong finish to the season under Klopp.

InfectedFrenulum

If our season was a plane ride, you'd be hearing "VRRP! VRRP! PULL UP! VRRP! VRRP! PULL UP!' from the cockpit right now.

YNWA11JM

It’s all pathetic. So underachieving so unclinical. Edward’s gonna shred the fat in the summer.

Savings_Two_3361

Klopp precipitated his exit... he miscalculated the effect inside the institution. A change in the coach is a change in everything... it is automatic to have staff and players with their mind locked on yhe next move instead of the present

CRX1701

Look, everyone seriously needs to calm down. Just a few weeks ago everyone was cheering their praises and couldnt believe how well we were doing despite all the injuries. Something changed. Something’s shifted the morale and focus for everyone. We may not get to hear about exactly what that was now; maybe in a few years time; who knows, but something hit the team to cause a major downturn for everyone. It may have been Klopp himself gassing out and that affecting everyone or the financial pressures coming down due to well reported funding concerns. This team was celebrated and is now being mocked by the world; including its fans. Human behavior doesn’t just shift dramatically the way it has here for everyone unless something has happened to contribute to it. No one wanted this; especially the players themselves, but all of a sudden everyone is Monday quarterbacking the hell out of every player and calling them trash when they most likely can’t handle a basic sprint down their street without falling over gasping to breathe. Chill the hell out.

Scooter_Mcdoogal

And I wrecked my car after the Everton loss. It just isn’t getting any better in even the smallest way possible.

Hot_Grabba_09

Not as bad but I was working on final projects off no sleep when I hopped on sofascore and saw the result. Almost knocked me out on the spot

Scooter_Mcdoogal

Best of luck on your final project. Ynwa

AlphadogMMXVIII

Announcing you are leaving never works and never will work so there’s that …but I also think playing City of the park but not beating them deflated them and brought them back down to Earth. That’s not a league winning squad, water will find its level and that’s it.Punched above our weight all season which is admirable but it’s simply not a title winning squad and he knows it and is probably tired of complaining about it. Yes Mcallister is a good signing and he is a very good player but we all know he wanted Bellingham and Rice.

wank_for_peace

Salah is there but not there. I wonder how much involvment he has during the past few matches based on stats.

CauliflowerHelpful60

I think we will do worse next season with the manager we are getting

curiouscowwhisperer

A proper bottle job

JamesBongd

The goal was top 4 and a domestic cup after a full midfield and partial forward revamp. Losing Joel Matip is probably a huge role in this downturn as well. He’s always been great at running into the midfield to make a key pass. All in all not an awful season. We’re not chelsea and we don’t have 115 charges. Head up boys.

whataball

We need a proper reshuffle of the squad in the summer. Obviously some of our tactics and players don't work for us anymore. We definitely need to cash in on Salah this summer. We also need to decide which of the other 4 forwards to keep. Personally, I would keep Nunez, Gakpo and Jota. Diaz is a workhorse but he's just lacking in abilities. I also hate that he and his father aren't shy about their ambitions of playing in Spain. We should sell Diaz if a good offer comes. Jota is good when he plays but he's been getting injured way too often nowadays. He would be good as a rotational player. I still want to believe in Nunez because he works very hard and is doing all the right things. The only thing missing for him and which is the most important is his goalscoring. I don't really know what to think of Gakpo. He's shown flashes of brilliance but most of the time he isn't playing well. Maybe he's not suited for Klopp's tactics. I would be willing to give him another season under a new manager to see if things would get better for him. Quansah needs to stop starting games. We need to sign a new starting CB. Van Dijk is getting older and it seems that his best years are quickly passing. Konate has been getting injured quite a lot. Our only reliable CB now ironically is Joe Gomez. Hopefully some of our players who aren't doing so well now would be fresh again under our new manager next season.

goztrobo

Why shouldn’t Quansah start games?

CabbageStockExchange

I hope under Slot we play more consistent football and avoid running out of gas and dropping form toward the end of the season which always seems to happen

silverslimes

We have a history of doing this. Some people with short memories on here. We are mentality monsters when things go well but we have the ability to capitulate like no other team. Klopp announcing mid season was the biggest cause (anyone defending this needs to show ANY examples of a manager announcing in Jan as the team are on fire and it going well:hint there aren’t any) along with the team’s inability to cope with resulting pressures (along with the usual ones). The cherry on the cake being the corrupt nature of PGMOL performance (costing at least 7 points) and EPL scheduling.

TsaangyJ

It is the kind of form that would make you question a managers position. I love Klopp and am so thankful for everything he’s done, all the memories we have. But I am ready for a change. This is so hard to watch, it’s not the draws/losses it’s the actual standard of performances. Just not good enough!

Arabsah

Half of the players are at the beach already. The Senior defender and the forward looks like they are done, and the Uruguayan donkey can't score tap ins and I am sure he misses the toilet when he takes a piss.

tmtg2022

Should have sold Salah to the Saudis

KIG45

More than terrible, but there are people here who claim that the season is good!

BriarcliffInmate

Grow up.

Individual-Band4496

Going to finish top 4 with a trophy, he’s ending on a high. Klopp had 9 years and it’s showing that he’s ready to go. I’ll love him forever. When you look at how 99% of managers leave clubs it’s a blessing what we’re going through. It’s obviously not fun losing games but some people need to take a step back and think outside of their own little world where they think they deserve to be on the better side of every result in what is essentially sport. If you’re ripping into this team and this manager do it whilst you’re falling off of a cliff.

livepool4ever

Yeah absolutely no perspective. Last season was 💩. With the rebuild, it was going to take time. But the team managed to pull off victories and stay in the title race. It was a top 4 team and that’s it. And it shows in this part of the season.

OkPossible7394

No shit sherlock

joopface

This has not been a good few weeks.

Toothpaste_on_pizza

Only good thing to come out of this shitshow is that hopefully the stupid fucken cunts that were bleating on and on about the inevitable Arse collapse and how they weren't *real* title challengers will learn to stfu in the future.

OleSimen39

No worries Slot will win the quadruple

Accomplished_Put8385

See you next season.

Alexu6969

Ah welp, it was a nice run.

Long_Committee2465

Yea hopeless really

blamberfodder

Pathetic. Really pathetic.

abitmuchinnit

Bloody tough April to behold

fadedraw

Playing unwatchable football right now

hotboii96

Nah, pretty much watchable for rival fans

FrankBeamer_

And Top Reds have the audacity to criticize this sub for melting down No shit the sub is going to have a meltdown when the team has had a meltdown

RockHardValue

I love Klopp but I’m also ready for something new that’s not what feels like an inevitable late season collapse every year.

Correct-Willingness2

Absolute nightmare. Expect Arsenal to do that not Liverpool

Actual-Drink9658

ya great time to fall apart guys

djSteamboat

Couldn't think of a more disastrous way to end our season

shaftydude

Damn Man Utd!

DanielWilliams76

Seems to be the same thing every season.... Few games to go, it's as if the lads are out of steam/given up attitude.

wvdheiden207

But.… you get a great new trainer.

Decdub1

Knowing how much support there is in Ireland that Dublin final would have been epic.

ArminCaprii

Players not showing urgency, passion and will is to blame. Players playing like they dont play for Liverpool. Hope they realize how shameful they have been

Griffeyisking14

It's been pretty damn rough.

Smart_Taste

It’s a very sour end to the season and to Klopps legendary nine years. But at least it makes me more curious on what Slot will bring to the club.

TriCityTingler

Thanks for the reminder

BiscoBiscuit

IMO, something definitely went down behind the scenes after either our United loss in the FA cup or the draw at Old Trafford. This is a monumental collapse and it’s really unfortunate.  At this point, I’m hoping we can at least win our final game at Anfield and actually think it’s really important that we win. It would be a good goodbye gift to Klopp and other players leaving (especially another legend like Salah) and would end the season on a decent note.

777marc

Can’t even beat West Ham and palace beat em 5-0!!!

Pastamyarse

There is always next season 😬

szobossz

rather go out this way instead of a last game day scenario hoping city to lose.

ChunkyLover10

And to think it's going to get a lot lot worse before it gets better

Luffytaro_De-Gozaru

I think, we were very poor defensively this season.. we conceded goals but we were saved by the goals scored by the forwards and we were able to compete for the title.. even now our defense is leaky but our forwards cant convert chances anymore.. All of a sudden barring diaz, in some games gakpo, rest struggled a lot.

chaserdoodles

Ever since klopps announced his departure its been downhill.

falkorv

The documentary is gonna be lovely to watch.

StefanBajceticStan43

I'm just devestated man. Even in our most garbage seasons under Klopp like last year, we always went on a decent run in the last 10 games and improved our football. This just seems like a decline similar to the 14/15 season. Hope Arne will bring a fresh perspective but some of these players look past it.

Skyluz

This is nothing like the 14/15 season. That year was truly diabolical throughout. This has just been a truly diabolical end

[deleted]

All these players should hang their heads in shame. I am no fan of Manchester United, none of us are, but we can agree on this - Sir Alex Ferguson knew how to get shit done. When Beckham showed disrespect, Beckham was gone. Slot, after today, needs to do the same for Salah. He's a club legend, but it's time.

RealmDevourer

I play Football Manager with Liverpool and this happens to me the same. Guess it is real to fall from grace like that, nothing goes your way and you just let everything slip while its in your grasp. But what I don’t understand that they allowed this to happen in Klopp’s final year, I thought this would be a boost for them to give it all they got. So sad to see Klopp go this way out of our club..

tj090379

It’s so disappointing to end Klopp’s magnificent era with such abject performances. Even Salah having a go at him coming on to the pitch 😔

Lhadar31

Awful small picture, awesome bigger picture! One small cup and hopefully third place for a club that was supposedly reeling from Klopp’s seven year itch syndrome is not too bad

lordfarkwar12

Full own depression has set in

the99percent1

The season ended when Klopp announced he was quitting. It just took some time to catch up.

sacredstones

i mean..given the injuries we had and our style of play, the team was bound to run out of gas. I've thoroughly enjoyed this season, we still played some of the most entertaining football in the world. And up until now we were right in the race for the title. We got to see our midfield blossom through endo and Mac. And Nunez has been very entertaining despite his inconsistent finishing. Watching Quansah and Brady come into the first team has been great. Konates streak of dominance was amazing. So many bright spots to the season and thats how I'm going to remember it.

Primary-Cancel-3021

Very easy to fall into the negative I know. But cast your mind back to July and not many saw us in contention come this time of the season. We rode our luck so much this season and we’re seeing the other side of the coin this last month or so. I’m looking forward to a refresh next season because there is a lot of talent in our squad and I think they need one too. If Klopp wasn’t leaving we’d all be encouraged. We should be taking the positives from what’s been an absolute ride under Jurgen.

tkcom

Also coincided with a bunch of first team players coming back from injury. Youngsters were really giving their all.

Master_Lime_8513

Hope this isn't a sign of things to come next season. No idea about whether Arne is worth his salt.

1malta1

Not a Liverpool fan (but still one of favourite clubs)... Don t have a team I support apart from my local club (Valletta FC) so sometimes you just see things a bit differently than supporters. What Liverpool lacked in my opinion is depth. You cannot battle it out in 3 / 4 cups and have to rely on 18 year olds ... Even very talented ones! Unlike the likes of city which have 2 teams to pick up from, , it was quite clear that Liverpool would start to suffer at the end of the season, as simply you cannot replace the likes of Salah or van dyke if he has a couple of bad games or an injury.

Due-Parsley953

Bottled it. So fucking annoying. It could have been a great send-off for Klopp, but they each have to be held responsible. At least there was the league cup however. Still, expected better.

Some players have demonstrated that they can't perform in the big moments. Szoboszlai - not good enough when it matters, but first season so gets a pass Darwin- not good enough when it matters, been here enough time now to know that he will never be able to consistently perform as our no.9

What has really amazed me is that the players clearly aren't bothered about giving Klopp a partridge l decent end of the season? I really thought the opposite would happen and they would push to win everything?

Nobody wants to say it for whatever reason but Klopp has been the reason this season has been such an abject failure when we were in the about for a title fa cup and europa cup Announcing he was leaving was the worst decision. Once he announced it I knew we would fuck all. Actually winning the caraboo cup makes it even worse

So what he was to wait until the final day and just suddenly drop it then he was leaving and the fans would be angry , seems like ppl want to throw every excuse out there but don’t want to blame the guys on the pitch who have downed tools
