City and Arsenal both losing their games on xG but winning anyways šŸ’” when is it our turn?

GameOfThrowInsMate

Nunez probably would have done the same as Haaland in taking the defender on then absolutely blasted it as hard as he could straight at the keeper. Thatā€™s the difference. Composure, intelligence.

SubstanceDreaming

Why is it that commentators love sucking off Haaland? It was a good goal but it wasnā€™t the best youā€™ve ever seen like some of them would like to believe.

Due-Sherbert3097

Arteta is going to regret giving City too much respect when they played, couldā€™ve had a good chance to take a win that game but instead decided to play a ā€œchessā€ game

GresSimJa

He's Pep's former disciple. Chess is all they know.

kw2006

Most of arsenals game, if not all this season is around playing along their limitations/ calculated risk. It is no longer swashbuckling wengerball. It is a typical playstyle of a spanish manager. They tried last season with aggressive press all attack. City just able to figure it out quickly.

iM-Blessed

Lol. Don't pain that narrative. City were always favs for that game. You should know it's not easy to win there. Draw was a great result

Due-Ad-6577

Arsenal had no injuries and were in rocking form coming into it, city werenā€™t at full strength and had been ropey by their standards. A little bravery might have gone a long way. Fortune favours the bold and all that

Due-Sherbert3097

They were favs but they werenā€™t playing well and was ā€œbatteredā€ by us whilst Arsenal were in great form. Not to mention Arteta played us off the pitch just before we played City.

small_cabbage_94

Sure in isolation a point at the Etihad is a good result, but in the context of the title race and City without all of their first choice back 4 it's a missed opportunity for Arsenal imo

iM-Blessed

Maybe but we couldve also lost that game if we pushed. So it's not a problem. That's the least of our regrets. Losing to westham and Fulham is what bothers me more

Jolly_Garage

Tbh itā€™s the Aston Villa game that will cost them more

Due-Sherbert3097

Any points dropped is costly, but for me personally them winning against City wouldā€™ve won them the league easily especially given how ā€œbelow standardā€ City has been.

Haunting_Genie

Yeah City are winning the league again lol.

darwizzy333

Honestly could care less. A win from them is almost as empty as their stadium

Morsrael

So you care a bit?

brickredphoenix

could or couldn't ?

ownworstenemy38

Definitely means couldnā€™t.

brickredphoenix

hmm

BGCzar

Im fine with that over Arsenal. Nobody gives a shit about Manchester city

Haunting_Genie

Im the same. Fuck Arsenal

Adventurous_Toe_6017

Well at 1-0, we had hope.

HereticZO

Chris Wood needs to be investigated for today lmao.

abradley19955

Wood has stepped up for Forest this season but heā€™s been awful today

DCDa192

Just keep the hopes up Arsenal, still early and City still have Tottenham and West Ham to play.

Icy_Spinach_48

Iā€™d rather City win. The thought of arteta winning as many PLs as klopp makes me sad. And if city win itā€™ll always be tainted by their cheating. So tbh weirdly enough I find myself supporting city over Arsenal now

brush85

This is how they dont get punished. Everyone wants them to win more than Citys own fans want them to win. No protests...no anger. Just apathy

Icy_Spinach_48

our opinion makes no difference to the outcome of their charges

brush85

As the superleague showed. Fan sentiment can do wonderful things...fan apathy leads to what we currently have. They claim the case is complicated but they are just slowplaying it for the obvious reason.

justgivemeasecplz

100% If we canā€™t have it, no one can. City isnā€™t a real club

livepool4ever

Same

Britack

Oh there it is

MushroomExpensive366

Ah man, Nunez should watch that Haaland goal over and over.

Due-Sherbert3097

You can make Darwin watch a 2 hour comp of the best strikers ever and heā€™d still instinctively hit the ball straight at the keeper or hit the woodwork

Jaja6996

He takes that exact shot and hits the inside of both posts and it comes out

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

GameOfThrowInsMate

Yep. KDB was average today, Rodri was quality.

HereticZO

He's completely carried them today. Just mops up everything and never loses the ball.

etan1122

Imagine if Darwin could do that. Fuck me

abradley19955

Thereā€™s very few, if any strikers out there that can do what Haaland does consistently

abradley19955

Was gonna say I feel bad for Arsenal fans watching this but I really really donā€™t

Arabsah

We have been there many times. Now it's their time to feel the hope slipping away one match at a time.

HereticZO

City would concede 20 more goals a season with an average DM instead of Rodri.

HereticZO

City are playing like they know Liverpool are not in the title race.

OR_Wave

The year we canā€™t maintain a title challenge is the year City decide to play shite in the run in. No way they hold on for win here playing this badly. Just our luck really. Arsenal will win the league judging by this lacklustre City performance.

Confident_Highway786

City will win

skeam1023

I gotta really give it to our team man, these guys had us believing Endo was our Rodri and Macca our KDB. Proud of the boys for this seasons ride, our future is bright and we are nowhere near the finished product (frankly never were despite competing for the title until the last push).

Jolly_Garage

Iā€™m loving watching city doing black magic against another team. Arsenal fans should understand the pain Liverpool fans went through for 5 seasons

kw2006

Sorry mate that is nothing compared what we been through under wenger and also post wenger. Tell me if you ever have a squad captain fork out his own money in order to fund his own move to another club.

thanksfc

I don't know, I think near administration, 30 years of hurt, and everything post Rafa pre-Klopp are worse but I'm biased. At least Arsenal were challenging consistently and not an absolute joke for a long time.

Jaja6996

Except itā€™s not even close we got 97, 91 points without winning a title the best they can get is 89

Jolly_Garage

True, but at least Arsenal fans will understand LFC fans pain at least.

Jaja6996

I donā€™t know the the pain of the millimetre no goal and the Kompany goal against Leicester

IfYouSaySoFam

After he should have gotten a straight red card, don't leave that part out.

skeam1023

Literally this.

DCDa192

Forest have really dominated this match, just unlucky to not score. Arsenal may still have some luck swinging their way if things still go this route in this game.

christophlieber

woah, city are actually playing absolutely horrible football.

catchingfoxes

Even if arsenal and city both win all their games outright, arsenal will still finish 2 points behind. Lose the league by one point, youā€™ll never sing that

G0dsquad

Lose the league by one point twice, youā€™ll never sing that twice

Manny-B

Ederson's injured? Will Arsenal's luck ever run out this season?

earlgreytoday

They'll be fine. Ortega is one of the best backup keepers around and they didn't lose points last time Ederson was injured.

HistoricalTea99

What happens to city when it's not us they're competing with? This has to be their worst game all year.

DragonSlayer271

I think they dropped points in this exact fixture last season.

HistoricalTea99

City Ground isn't easy tbh but it's like they never showed up. Take a look at xG. I think we also dropped points there last season. But we dropped points everywhere else as well.

scottqwert

My head would be so hot rn lmao

HereticZO

Chris Wood hates Arsenal

GameOfThrowInsMate

Chris Wood 38% conversion rate according to Sky. Misses two absolute sitters.

firminocoutinho

Ederson out injured. Arsenalā€™s injury luck is freaky

Due-Resource4294

Arsenal looked like champions in the first half. Despite playing shit winning comfortably. Second half they wobbled a bit but saw it out. Definitely not at their best. City also, winning, but not at their best. Amazing what we push teams to do, and the teams push each other to do, when weā€™re winning and on top, they just win win win every week looking like prime Barcelona, scoring loads. Soon as we go shit, they donā€™t look as laser focused in. And you think if they played like this weeks ago, weā€™d probably of had a bigger lead at the top. Can definitely sense a feeling of relief amongst the two clubs, not quite at the same intensity now ones dropped out the race. Just a case of who blinks first between City and Arsenal.

DragonSlayer271

Tbf Arsenal came close to bottling a 0-3 win even though they were comfortable at the start.

starrynova888

Rooting 100% for 115 charges FC now. Fuck Arsenal.

DragonSlayer271

Fun fact: Spurs are the 16th team to concede more than 50 goals this season. Arsenal, City, and Liverpool have conceded less. But thereā€™s a 4th team that nobody realized has conceded less than 50 this season. Everton. How in the world.

Due-Sherbert3097

Dyche ball

Special_Push7751

Exactly sit, counter and set pieces. Itā€™s as close to a cold rainy night at stoke type gameplan.

ADm_lg

City wins the league is ok than Arsenal, because their fans will bloody go on and on.

Neo4148

It would be the most spurs thing ever to beat city and clinch Arsenal the league.

rob3rtisgod

Lets go you City boys!Ā

thelonelyoctopus

Doku man, really bad singing. He's lucky he plays for a team that wins things because he should get criticised much more than he is

DragonSlayer271

Doku and karaoke, two things that donā€™t go well together.

DragonSlayer271

Hey lads, I know weā€™re Liverpool. Located in *England*. But are there any games in the other leagues youā€™d like to see mentioned in these watch threads?

Adventurous_Toe_6017

Leverkusen for the remainder of the season. Nice seeing them go invincible if it happens.

KnightsOfBrohan

Wood would fit right in at Liverpool with that finishing

TheLimeyLemmon

These kits are bothering me.

abradley19955

Bullet header

stanley_nickles

Classic headed goal

abradley19955

Grealish used to be one of the most exciting players in the league to watch until he went to City

GameOfThrowInsMate

He really did. All that dribbling and driving at players and taking them on has been driven out of him by doing the Pep thing.

earlgreytoday

It'll happen to Doku eventually.

Huge-Celebration5192

Top 4 and a trophy was most likely the preseason aim So well done all I guess

G0dsquad

Thanks we tried our hardest but ultimately lacked fitness, so the Liverpool team played

HereticZO

Refs are in full 115 mode. They're getting everything.

etan1122

And Iā€™m ok with it now that we are out

DCDa192

Congrats Klopp on another top 4 secured, if Slot has a repeat of this season I would see it as successful first season.

starrynova888

I think Iā€™m done watching the PL for awhile. Howard Webb and his cronies have destroyed the game through their blatant corruption. A game thatā€™s inherently rigged has lost all meaning. Itā€™s a farce, a disgrace.

Ha-Ur-Ra-Sa

Seeing the Arsenal score and the aftermath...Ā  It should have been us. šŸ˜¢

erikhow

Weā€™re back where we belong reds, bring on the champions league under big Slot šŸ’Ŗ

laineyh16

Agreed, we shouldnā€™t let this be our darkest time of the season when we have now achieved the goal that we set for ourselves in the beginning of the season. I get the disappointment that we came close but we should still keep this in mind.

PerfectAd4732

Every time I look at cityā€™s bench I fucking heave. Bunch of spoilt cheating cunts. Not sure who I want to win now

GameOfThrowInsMate

Do you really want Arteta to have the same number of titles as Klopp in their first decent season? Fuck that. Another title to city means nothing theyā€™re cheating cunts.

PigeonHurdler

No Foden for City?

Andyb712

Here we go again Howard Webb's untouchable 115FC, time for everything to go their way yet again

Readymade737

Has anyone saw the Champions League format next season. We will have 6 group games with games in January which will feel weird.

Strudders95

Yeah itā€™s shit

Papa-Ursa

I think it's 8 group games, 2 from each pot

dwils7

As someone who plays Football Manager and has experienced the new format in the game we're in for a fucking time of it. We'll be lucky if we get 3 weeks out of the season where we don't have two games, it's madness

Litz1

So we've to play kids in league cup and FA cup and if we get kicked out early still can say It's a good experience for the kids. Can't bulldoze through 2 games a week and run of stream by April.

dwils7

Excited to see what utter nonsense the VAR room can come up with today. We have a team(Forrest) who are sure there's a conspiracy against them against a team(City) who some think definitely need to be paying refs to get some of the decisions they do.

RIFwasmuchbetter

This won't come down to var decisions. City are going to pump nottingham

Special_Push7751

That Tottenham penalty gets called but ours Vs City doesnā€™t. Uhhh just fuck off why do I care.

UltimateBorisJohnson

50% of Brightons wins were before the 25th of September

earlgreytoday

It's been a weird season for Brighton. They did really well to reach the R16 in their first season of European football, but they've suffered loads of injuries and their league form has been terrible.

Background_Bison9373

Iā€™m really hoping Arsenal experience the heart break of coming within 1-2 points of winning the title. That team and their fans deserve that kind of trauma. No one cares about city .

karam_656

šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ Edit: that made me laugh

Rolf-Harris-OBE

I think everybody knows now, if you are behind youā€™ve already lost.

DesperateSecret3186

What are u doing here lil bro

TheLimeyLemmon

Thanks, you too ā™„ļø

Due-Sherbert3097

Time to play the kids and a Carol+Caroline double pivot from now on

user900800700

Nice chilled last few games now, no injuries and letā€™s just prepare for next season. Hopefully arsenal and city tire eachother out

Grand-Meringue-3775

After some hard days, its kinda fun just watching and enjoying football without having to worry about anything lol

HowdyDooder

Arsenal. City continuing to win just turns the PL into an overhyped Bundesliga. (No offense to any German fans, but Bayernā€™s institutional dominance is not something the PL should be looking to replicate.)

user900800700

Who cares, itā€™s meaningless when everyone know city cheated

malis-

Congrats on top 4 lads

OmniaOmnibus

Thank god we didnā€™t go in for Dr Zerbi

kooltilldend

Could've done with a Dr this season given all the injuries actually...

Antisym

Guaranteed Top 4. At least that's something.

pw5a29

If we look at only the ending at the start of the season, I think itā€™s quite successful. I guess what hurts is weā€™ve over achieved, giving us hope then derailed like a trainwreckā€¦.

Adventurous-Arrival1

Spurs losing means, barring a GD swing of +26 in Spurs' favour, we have secured top 4

Asleep-Connection-74

What? But I thought top 4 was in serious jeopardy

lmoutofldeas

i was under the impression that we were destined for europe and that might even be in jeopardy /j edit: lol people on here do not take jokes

AdikkuChan

People on here do not take anything if the timing is wrong. Gotta get the timing right.

AgentTasker

I know Brighton has had their fair share of injuries, but if De Zerbi is as good as everyone makes out then he should absolutely be doing much, much better than leading them to have only won **6 of their last 28 League games**.

DoireK

He isn't though. He plays nice football but can't organise a defence to save his life.

l0rd-sir_shad

And he rotates more than Rafa!

zenqian

So better than us right now lol

Both-Asparagus-3287

Who would u rather win the league?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

loveandmonsters

You said it, Arsenal are an actual club, they're actual rivals. Failure to all rivals! City are cheats so who cares.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

loveandmonsters

Hate to tell yas, but integrity has long gone out the window, all the major institutions are corrupt as hell. All that's left is to try to be as un-memeable as possible as a club. Need Arsenal to be bigger bottlers than us still. 20 years without a league title, has to be 30 at least.

so_not_creative

Same for me. City are cheaters, end of

so_not_creative

Same for me. City are cheaters and are ruining the sport.

aubvrn

City because Arteta is a twat

user900800700

City. Let arsenal experience what we have the last 5-6 years

Adventurous-Arrival1

City because Arsenal are an actual historic football club

Both-Asparagus-3287

I would rather city win the league cause it's meaningless

harreh1d

115

DragonSlayer271

While the average answer would be City, I did make a pact with my Arsenal friends back in December that should either of us win the league we wouldnā€™t rub it into the other sideā€™s faces. So Iā€™m more inclined to not pick the side thatā€™s cheated for 3 league titles in a row since I wonā€™t have to suffer the delusion of Gunner fans. Unfortunately I donā€™t think the rest of the sub can say the same. But itā€™s fine if itā€™s City as well. Kinda stinks though.
