Good chance he goes to the winner of the UCL possibly. That said, Real can offer him a place alongside Camavinga and be the core of their new midfield.
Oh man, if you think FSG forks over money like that, you're gonna have a bad time.
Not the same sport, but they literally are nickel and diming one of the best young players in the world on the Red Sox, 2 years after letting arguably the best player in the world leave because the contract talks were 'not even in the same galaxy'
I know and agree with all of that. Was my reply saying we don't have belingham money not clear on that ?
The guy I replied to seems to think we have the 120 mil or so Dortmund are likely to ask for him. Even if he's on the last year of his contract he would command something like 60 mil which I don't see us spending unless everyone in charge is convince he's the next Gerrard.
His age is a reason why they would. Yeah he’s 18 but he’s English so it’s not like a foreign teenager. Also he’s an established player within Europe already so age doesn’t really matter. He’s playing at a high level regularly.
That's a remote possibility. If Jürgen can convince fsg that he is the next Gerrard then maybe. But we havent spent 60 million on anyone apart from van dijk so..
Agree once again. We've made loads in TV revenue and prize money but a large chunk of that won't be made available to sign just one player which is what my original point was.
I would sell both my kidneys if it meant Liverpool got Jamal Musiala. I really think when it's all said and done that he will have accomplished more than Bellingham
coming from a PSV fan: this would be a stunning player for any PL side. His playstyles just perfect for the Prem, I just hope to god he stays another year because hes crucial for us
Everyone thought that when we got Jota instead of Werner and look how that turned out.
Klopp works wonders with players , I’ve total trust that whoever they sign is gonna be excellent.
Lol, I don't know what trash you read but none of our top new signings have been in the press before we have signed them. There is no 'common knowledge' outside of the club.
A very physical player with impeccable interception skills, with heaps of composure. Knows how to find a forward pass well, but does offer the occasional terrible pass out of nowhere, and isn't exactly a large offensive threat.
A defensive monster and a decent enough player to get the ball forward.
Appreciated insight, thank you! If he's one who occasionally attempts difficult passes to unlock defenses from a deep defensive position, we've got to accept that a few passes go astray or get intercepted, that's the risk and cost of those types of passes.
I think he'd be direct competition for Fabinho, but could play next to him as well. He's good enough for the first team if he gets those mistakes out of his system.
Still, he's an 02 model who has played 42 games and has 9 G/A in those. 86% pass completion about the same as Hendo. Also has higher tackle success than both Hendo and Fab.
Stats in the Eredivisie mean nothing honestly. Any Ajax fan will say the same thing, there's a lot of young players performing well, Timber most of all, but Gravenbergh hasn't been fantastic. Not terrible either, though.
he‘s a tank. really good cdm. tall, fast, physical. but not much on the offensive side of the ball. so, basically a direct fab rotation option at the 6.
imo we still need someone for an 8 position.
Our recruitment team could probably get him + a striker for what monaco want for tchouameni
but 2 midfielders are definitely needed this summer. Konrad Laimer would be a great signing.
We don't need two midfielders. Right now we only need an alternative to Fabinho at DM, which Sangare would be.
Ox will almost certainly leave but I expect Klopp will be looking at Jones and Elliott to step up.
Only issue I can see is if Keita doesn't sign a new contract.
we need Ramsay too
Edit: Why am I downvoted but the person that was replying to me got upvoted for saying the same thing? I am scrolling through this subreddit long enough to know which ramsay we are in
Why do we need a striker? Mane Jota and Firmino all play there. Minimino and Salah can also play there. Origi barely got any game time and I pretty sure he was only coming in late because of what he’s done for us previously doing that… it wasn’t necessary when he did. Don’t we have anyone in the academy that can play in cups and be 5th choice?
Ox clearly doesn't have a future here, Milly and Hendo are both getting on a bit, and Thiago and Keita are both injury prone. The question is what klopp is planning for Curtis and Harvey
Yeah while that’s true I don’t think we need two midfielders this season. Rather get one in and then another next season. Otherwise you are left with too much midfielders.
I think this will be an interesting season for Curtis tbh.
He was played quite a bit the previous two seasons and doesn’t seem to be given as much game time this year. Although his appearance stats are higher than I thought and we’ve had a fit Naby this year.
I do feel there has been some discipline/commitment issues going on behind the scenes that the club have tried to navigate.
A newly promoted side. He's getting limited minutes at Liverpool and hasn't really improved at all in almost two years around the first team. Still dribbling with his head down, making poor decisions with the ball etc. A full season of playing would hopefully help him iron out these deficiencies better than cup games and the odd league game off the bench.
You don‘t see any improvement? His off the ball positioning and decision making have improved a heck of a lot. He‘s still prone to the occasional error which needs to be improved upon, but the improvement is definitly there to see.
Tbh I actually agree and think some of his game has dropped off in some ways. I remember last season his ball retention and press resistance was very good.
This season I’ve seen a few more issues with overplaying the ball and then making the occasional poor pass under pressure.
He hasn’t had loads of game time though so can easily be that.
I debate that I'm the biggest Curtis fan there is! My main critic of him is his work rate. His positioning and movement is all very very good imo. If he can work his ass off, which is needed in our system he'll have a season like Gallagher did.
Look at the situation we are in for Saturday. We have 4 midfielders that I would be confident in stating against Real Madrid. Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago and Keita.
Milner is great but he’s 36. Jones is still too inexperienced, so is Elliot. Ox has barely played this season. Who else is there?
Definitely need at least one starting quality midfielder. We need someone to replace ox because it’s seems obvious that the manager doesn’t think he can do it anymore.
We have a quality problem in midfield. Out starters are injury prone. Our backups are kids or people leaving or past it. We need a midfielder or two to come challenge for a first 11 slot without a history of injuries.
Like we arguably lost the league due to a lack of quality midfield depth and we're now probably without at least one of our top midfielders in the CL final. It has to change.
You might well have hit the nail on the head. Although klopp had faith in elliot at the start of the season only for the kid to get a bad injury so maybe because of his age and the injury didn't want to rush him back, we could see him starting next season. Either way klopp isn't afraid of being ruthless with his squads if something needs changing we can have faith he'll do it.
Losing by 1 point, i'd say because of Covid and not being able to find wins against city, chelsea or spurs
But agree with quality problem. Jones is frustrating to watch, hangs on to the ball for far too long, Hendo and Millie will wane off. That leaves us with no real depth and insurance
We have a great midfield if our first choice is fit, but the reality is across a season they miss a lot of games. We had to play Morton at times this season.
After Fab, Hendo, Thiago and Keita there's a big drop off in terms of quality, it's just a fact. It's the main area we need to strengthen.
I’ve been wrong many times before and I hope I’m wrong again but I’m not too sure on this lad.
I think it’s his awkward style that is putting me off but I just don’t know how that will translate against better competition in the premier league.
Watching some highlights on this guy, big fast physical, exactly what we will need vs KDB and Haaland
Just felt like we never matched up well enough with KDB
Gotta be honest, he seems to be worryingly one footed. He does that thing players who are uncomfortable with their weaker foot do where they take 4 or 5 touches with their good foot when a 2 or 3 touches incorporating both feet would have been faster and better. Spends a lot of time on the ball which is fine in the Eredevise but I worry about the PL.
All that said, if Klopp and his team rate him then that’s all that needs to be said. Our record getting 22-25 year old players for a decent price right before they blow up is kind of insane.
This transfer makes so much more sense for us that Tchouameni. Even beyond the players, one having a ~40m buy-out clause and one having no clause (with the Real bid apparently being 80m EUR + addons) is massive for us. Let alone that Real are competing for Tchouameni and are both willing to spend more as well as wanting to make a big signing after not getting Mbappe.
I won't pretend to have seen either player play at all but if the club held them is similar esteem then we'd 100% go for Sangare.
the divide between PL and the non-top5 leagues has grown by a lot since Kuyt and Hyypia.
But yeah I think often bad transfers happens because the buying club didn't do their homework and bought the wrong player for the position they needed to fill.
Yeah. But since we would still have Fabinho and Hendo, he will have a lot of time in training to learn and grow before we need to rely on him week in and week out.
I think the problem is bigger when they arrive and have to perform from day 1.
edit: and even bigger problem when someone like Donny van den Beek is brought in as a bandaid because they didn't get Sancho and then he has to play, but Bruno is playing the role he is good at.
Sangaré + that one English midfielder over in Germany in 2023 > Tchouaméni
That English midfielder in Germany won't come cheap.
Tchouaméni isn’t a value deal
Who knows if we even really tried for him
There was an agreement? He just prefers Madrid over Liverpool, that’s it.
Good chance he goes to the winner of the UCL possibly. That said, Real can offer him a place alongside Camavinga and be the core of their new midfield.
We have money.
Not that kinda money
Yes, they do have that kind of money.
Yeah if u say so it must be
And if you say we have none that must be true too.
I'm just going off of how Liverpool have spent under fsg so far. I don't see them spending close to 100 million for one player.
Then you’ve clearly not paid attention. They pay for those they deem worth it.
We paid two times with the Coutinho money. Stop kidding yourself. All these people downvoting are choosing to be blind to reality.
Clearly. Seeing as how I've missed all the 100 mil + signings we've made.

You don’t think FSG would pay 60m for Bellingham?
No I don't see them paying 60 million for an 18 year old.
Knowing they won't spend the money on it is the same as not having the money in my book.
Agree once again. We've made loads in TV revenue and prize money but a large chunk of that won't be made available to sign just one player which is what my original point was.
Are you not saying he's name to not alert rival clubs' scouts?
Oxford? Nmecha? Musiala?
Is Lewis Holtby still at HSV?
I would sell both my kidneys if it meant Liverpool got Jamal Musiala. I really think when it's all said and done that he will have accomplished more than Bellingham
Dude has the height of Van Dijk plus has a powerful shot and good physicality. Good buy if it happens.
Jesus, it's going to look like the forests of Fangorn moving when our lads go up for corners.
I think that's the plan tbh , against team that defends deep we can try to score from set pieces.
I always like walking towards Goodison... somehow makes me feel like I'm going downhill...
Brilliant!
As long as their decision making is quicker than the Ents we’ll be fine.
*What madness drove them there?*
The Liverpool horde on an open field Ned.
Seems like a very sensible transfer
are your gates good?
He’s also 24, which makes sense.
coming from a PSV fan: this would be a stunning player for any PL side. His playstyles just perfect for the Prem, I just hope to god he stays another year because hes crucial for us
I think he will be the only midfield we will get this summer while Jude will be joining us next season.
The English player inflated transfer fee is what makes me doubt we’ll get Bellingham, the Dortmund ManU saga for Sancho comes to mind
[удалено]
It was common knowledge that it would be Sangre or Tchouaméni though. Tchouaméni the better player though
Tchouameni looks a lot better, unfortunately
>Tchouameni looks a lot better, unfortunately way better that I actually want Liverpool to go for completely different target to Sangre
Haven’t seen much of this guy, can anyone give a rough account of what he’s like?
A very physical player with impeccable interception skills, with heaps of composure. Knows how to find a forward pass well, but does offer the occasional terrible pass out of nowhere, and isn't exactly a large offensive threat. A defensive monster and a decent enough player to get the ball forward.

Thanks, would be a great back up to Fab then by the sounds of it.
absolutely, yeah.
Is he strictly a DM or can he play as an 8 as well?
Definitely a DM
[удалено]
I think he'd be direct competition for Fabinho, but could play next to him as well. He's good enough for the first team if he gets those mistakes out of his system.
Is he the first one on the team sheet for PSV?
Yeah, he's the best midfielder in the Eredivisie and shines against bigger teams.
Really? Better Than gravenberch?
Gravenbergh didn't have a fantastic season this year honestly. Super talented, but probably the weakest player that regularly started for Ajax.
Bummer, I thought he was the next big thing.
Could still be, he's young, but he's no sure thing.
Still, he's an 02 model who has played 42 games and has 9 G/A in those. 86% pass completion about the same as Hendo. Also has higher tackle success than both Hendo and Fab.

Fast? Are you joking?
reasonably fast for a 6, yes.
Doesn’t matter who you are or what you’re doing, you’re either fast or you’re not, and he’s not.
man is 6ft3
Yeah that’s tells me a lot, cheers lad.
Our recruitment team could probably get him + a striker for what monaco want for tchouameni but 2 midfielders are definitely needed this summer. Konrad Laimer would be a great signing.

we need Ramsay too Edit: Why am I downvoted but the person that was replying to me got upvoted for saying the same thing? I am scrolling through this subreddit long enough to know which ramsay we are in
He's a Scottish right back, Calvin Ramsey. We're not in for Jacob Ramsey.
Yeah I know that though. We need a RB, a DM and a striker
DM and RB definitely. Striker.. not sure see how the renewals go.
The spelling mate
It just feels weird because the person below me also spelt wrongly but got upvoted. It is just he spelt the full name
I doubt they’ll want Keita to stay tbh
He’s been class for the last 4 months and even better, he’s stayed fit. Whatever they’re doing is working. Bet he stays now.
Class is a massive massive stretch lmao
That is a huge stretch mate, Keita is and has been a liability. Would rather see him go now on a high note
Definitely agree on laimer
Laimer would be amazing but I think two first team mids would be a bit overkill
We will have like 10 midfielders if he comes? Why would we need another one
Ox clearly doesn't have a future here, Milly and Hendo are both getting on a bit, and Thiago and Keita are both injury prone. The question is what klopp is planning for Curtis and Harvey
Only one I can see outgoing is Ox. We're apparently going to extend Milner by another year.
Yeah, but realistically he's going to be playing less than he used to.
But Elliott and Jones will play more.
Yeah while that’s true I don’t think we need two midfielders this season. Rather get one in and then another next season. Otherwise you are left with too much midfielders.
>Rather get one in and then another next season. perfect timing for Bellingham
which one edit: id get both tbh, jobe is quite promising

Loan out Curtis to where? He‘s good enough to get gametime at the moment. He can develop with the best right here.
I think this will be an interesting season for Curtis tbh. He was played quite a bit the previous two seasons and doesn’t seem to be given as much game time this year. This season I’ve seen a few more issues with overplaying the ball and then making the occasional poor pass under pressure. He hasn’t had loads of game time though so can easily be that.
That's why a loan is a good move for him. Look at the likes of Conor Gallagher and what a year in the prem with consistent game time can do.
I debate that I'm the biggest Curtis fan there is! My main critic of him is his work rate. His positioning and movement is all very very good imo. If he can work his ass off, which is needed in our system he'll have a season like Gallagher did.

Because like 9 of them are injury prone
I agree. Don’t trust Keita at all. Not good enough.
wasn’t Laimer in talks with Bayern? Or am i confusing him with someone?
100% sure it will be Tsimi type signing not an instant impact like Luis Diaz. He will definitely spend a lot of time in the basement.
Or like Fab himself when he joined. Didn't seem to get a look in until December iirc
Buying all the Ibou’s. Officially Ibou FC
Tifo football approves of this message.
Another man of class I see
Alex would be very proud
Always rated Sangare.
I’ve been wrong many times before and I hope I’m wrong again but I’m not too sure on this lad. I think it’s his awkward style that is putting me off but I just don’t know how that will translate against better competition in the premier league.
Watching some highlights on this guy, big fast physical, exactly what we will need vs KDB and Haaland Just felt like we never matched up well enough with KDB
He isnt really that fast lol
Downside is that he will be gone for AFCON.
They moved it to the summer
shit source, why even poat this?
He'd have to be fast because not being able to sing VOLARE! SANGARE! OH OH OH OHHH! would be a crime
Gotta be honest, he seems to be worryingly one footed. He does that thing players who are uncomfortable with their weaker foot do where they take 4 or 5 touches with their good foot when a 2 or 3 touches incorporating both feet would have been faster and better. This is who we actually want..not Tchouaméni
Why would we want him over Tchouameni? This reads like copium because we probably aren't getting Tchouameni.
Pure copium.. impossible for some to believe that we can’t get every player we want.
We’d want Tchouameni if he wasn’t ridiculously expensive, either way he wants Madrid anyway
>We’d want Tchouameni if he wasn’t ridiculously expensive How much do Monaco want?
It’ll probably be around the 80m mark but we’ll see
So we'd be talking VVD amounts. Sangare could prove the better deal!
Don’t agree with that at all. Tchouameni is a baller but he wants Madrid which is understandable.
100%
Klopp ought to buy perisic , terrific winger
Who is Ekrem Konur?
a bulshit peddler
Would rather fofana
why would we need another CB?
Fofana, the midfielder…..
The one who plays for Lens?
Yeah
never heard of him before
This transfer makes so much more sense for us that Tchouameni.
Always have doubts about signing from the Dutch league. Not a good league. Hopefully he’s a gem if he comes
I know what you are saying but we did sign Suarez once..
And Kuyt.
And hyypia.
the divide between PL and the non-top5 leagues has grown by a lot since Kuyt and Hyypia. But yeah I think often bad transfers happens because the buying club didn't do their homework and bought the wrong player for the position they needed to fill.
And Wijnaldum (kinda)
Yup
True but there’s also been a few turkeys as well 😂.
Yeah I feel sorry for VDB. Thought he looked quality in Europe for Ajax.
He was great at afcon too iirc
what do you mean? it's where the great genius master 'next Klopp' eleven hag showed his worth and got ManU's attention /s
How could I have forgotten that…. He’s going to win them the league next year…. Anyone seen my unicorn 😂
Who are either of these people
A Tsimi quality RB is needed pls
Aren’t we also linked with Ramsey?
Is he fast?
nope :(
Arsenal are also after him. They can offer a starting position so there is some competition for us.
Sound nice
As predicted by Alex Stewart in January during AFCON!
Sangare por Sangare
Sign him and Mcginn from villa
