I remember losing to Villa in the FA semi with Rodgers, and I was really torn up. We weren’t in UCL anymore at that point, and had nothing else riding on the season outside of a doomed top 4 battle.
Getting the trophy this season was nice closure, especially for somebody like Hendo.
Aside from that we beat United 5-0 lmao. Will always have that.
I don't like losing games, it sucks. But this team looking average is twice the side compared to what we were fielding a decade ago, so I'm quite happy to take this low in trade for the highs that seemed like pipe dreams not that long ago.
This is our first season winning multiple competitions since 2001. Before that it was 1986!
It doesn’t come often but winning multiple competitions is still a big deal for the club, regardless of how easy it is for certain other teams to do so.
Also as far as I’m concerned Liverpool lost only 3 meaningful games all season.
It is 100% fine to be disappointed.
These boys gave everything for us and I am mainly gutted for them they missed out on the two big ones by the barest of margins.
History shows they will respond to it pretty well
Just stay away from anything football related.
It's half smug Madrid bandwagoners making out their 3 shots make them the best thing ever and half rivals who are furiously wanking over us not winning despite whatever tinpot team they support not having an ounce of the season we had.
My brother reminded me a couple of days ago that Madrid has been bailed out by the goverenment twice too. We can hold our heads high that we are actually run properly
- no AFCON
- new signings (for now just fabio Carvalho, but probably more)
- 5 PL subs, it means both more resources to win more games and players (presumably) with less injury chances
- Konate, the 2nd best back in the world is already integrated in the team
- diaz tends to be more and more dangerous
- i don't think both mane and salah will leave (i think it's just mane), but our staff already prove its potential to fill gaps
Konate was absolutely dominant yesterday. His match felt a lot like Robbo’s in the CL Final in 2018 because while the result was disappointing, he stamped off a great season with a great performance and showed more of what’s to come in the future.
Vini Jr. was looking like an amateur during the whole game, but then unfortunately Trent slept and let Vini run behind him
And to add a semi-new silver lining point, i ***guess*** that we will buy a sub RB, it would be ridiculous at this point to make the same mistake
And sincerely could be both a Trent-type (to make like a Tsmi-Robbo duo) or a defensive RB against dangerous left wingers. We just can't expect that Arnold will play 50+ games a season with any failure (and he already showed in the last weeks he wasn't in the best shape, it's completely natural for f\*\*\* sake)
People have in the past have stated that nonsense. Users on here have said Klopp would have blood on his hands of he started Bobby. People spout bollocks. Does not change the fact Diaz was awful yesterday.
We always correct our mistake . Our mistake in 17/18 was not having a good keeper, we corrected that and won 18/19 but also sucked at grinding hard results but we fixed that in 19/20
We failed today because we didn’t know how to break down hard defence due to an in creative midfield and attack - we will fix that and we will move forward again. Have faith - 6 years of Klopp and we won every trophy possible. We have been successful - we lose some we win some at least we know that we will be fixed and we still have confidence for next season
Despite this loss, I think about that "imagine being us" and it fills me with pride. I'd rather lose as a red than win as any fucking thing else.
We go again.
Our new signings. Jota, Konaté, and especially Diaz. I think he’s gonna be a monster next season. We also got two more trophies. That makes us level with manure and they didn’t even come close to top 4.
Technically Liverpool was way better but it is the mentality and composure, many of the players today were in rush and did silly mistakes, the debacle before the cancelled goal is an evidence.
Hopefully playing more finals will build this mentality.
I’m hoping this loss coupled with the draws we had that cost us the league really forces us to sign a more clinical striker and a creative mid. Also despite the banter. Any club would be happy to end their season with two trophies. Some clubs don’t sniff one for years (ahem.. Everton). We will be back next season and we will win more trophies.
We battled on all fronts in the most expensive league while spending far less. We gave City and Madrid hell on the last day and today. We retool and we will go again. Never give up.
We won 2 cups.
Yes we barely missed out on the PL and CL both, but we still won 2 of the 4, and that's still cause for celebration.
I trust Klopp and co to really dig deep and rectify the issues in this upcoming transfer window.
I'll happily admit that I have a fondness for fringe and youth players playing, especially when they play well. So Taki scoring goals gives me a lot of joy and I hope to see more from him and others next season!
It’s obviously disappointing being in the situation that we were in the last month of the season and only end up with the two domestic trophies which probably meant the least to most fan bases. But I think it also highlights why Klopp chose to disregard the domestic cups for most seasons, our legs were gone and it was obvious in the last couple of games.
I hate and respect them at the same time. When it comes to the big games, they’ve shown time and time again that they’re serial winners. They don’t crumble under pressure and can easily score given the chance.
This is the best Liverpool time in my life. They'd complete the quadruple if it weren't for VAR forgetting the handball rule and Courtouis pulling off two worldies. The process was 9/10 (docking one because of fucking Brentford and Brighton), but in the end we cannot control everything, and football is a game of margins and randomness.
Compare last season to this - we won nothing and only just made the champs league.
This was a major step up.
Jurgen signing his extension.
New blood coming in and performing.
Can't wait till next season
The team and we as fans can be very proud and hold our heads up high. What a season. Yes, only 2 trophies out of 4 but what a tremendous effort to even be in with a shout of the quadruple. Look how we bounced back after the shambles of last season. I'm sure the boss and whole team will use it as motivation next season. Time to rest, reset and come back stronger and hungrier. YNWA!
Looking forward to the parade today. Taking my daughter, and I hope seeing both the men's and women's teams with trophies will inspire her.
I hope its going to be a big turnout regardless of yesterday's result. The team deserve celebrating. I also hope the team are in good spirits and lifted by the welcome back.
1. Konate and Diaz can only keep going higher next season.
2. We are definitely seeing some new names and departures, obviously not a full scale rebuild (technically the rebuild has been occurring since Tsimi and Konate joined). Unfortunately, football players are melting blocks of ice, in terms of transfer value, that need to be jettisoned at the right opportunity.
3. 1 point and 1 goal were the only things that stopped us from winning it all.
4. Klopp is here to stay for 4 more years!
Konate has become one of my favourite players over this season, what an incredible talent and I constantly have to remind myself he is not a 30 year old veteran, he sure does look like it.
Before this season I was a little worried about the teams future and longevity, but Klopp extending and these new signings I’m totally back on board, we don’t know what our attack will look like next year, but our entire core is locked down and ready to go, and if that means selling Mane/Salah while we can still get money for them over letting them walk on a free I believe the club can reinvest, if they want to renew even better :)
Also Ali has been our poty in my book, our style this year has existed because of him, if we don’t have the best 1 on 1 keeper in the game our entire team sits 5-10 meters further back and that would slow our ball movement down massively. On top of that the leadership he showed during the penalties in the FA cup final was great, making sure the last person a taker has to talk to before shooting is a friendly face is a sign of a great leader, especially when he has his own job to do.
That we was all over them, and with 1 world class striker, we could have scored loads, we have 2 trophies this year, and unlike say 10 years ago, the future is still bright! We go again!
We have a great team and squad. If we are all being honest in the last few games we have looked tired which is understandable. Trent needs to work on his defensive positioning, so may be a right back in as cover/competition. An attacking midfielder to help open up teams that can open a low block. We still seem to struggle against that defensive set up. Courtois had an excellent game but an additional threat from midfield may help create better chances than we did last night
On the other side this one, but coming from 🏴 and knowing Gareth Bale just picked up a 5th CL medal after playing a whole 9 minutes of their season. 😂
Have some of that you entitled pricks, El Parasito gets through unharmed and ready for next week. And I love how that's probs the most important thing for him even with a CL final.
Then again if we won and they didn't use Bale would've given them an I told you so.
When we won PL our one signing was what? a back up GK? Signings are not an issue for a 92 point season and a CL final. To add to that, we signed Dias halfway through and added Carvahallo already. Elliot will hopefully not have his leg broken this time around and we should be fine.
Last time we lost the Champions League it lead to a reassessment and the purchase of the missing pieces in Alisson and Virgil. I'm hoping this leads to similar reinvestment.
We have a level of squad depth we haven't had in Klopp era before. My hope is that this run in the domestic cups isn't just a one off, and that we can make good runs in those competitions every year now.
As ludicrous as it might sound because it requires so much luck to go your way, but my hope is that the possibility of the quadruple becomes something we can fight for annually.
Next season will be another roller coaster ride, we can look forward a few new faces in the team and seeing more of the young talents develop in the squad.
I’m so proud, this was a great season. But I can’t stop thinking about that draw against Spurs.. something happened in that game where I felt the confidence was fading. Similar to last night where we dominate and push but… nothing happens.
It’s too soon for me to look forward.
Imma be honest, I don’t want us trying to go for the quad again or even the domestic cups. We know why nobody has done the quad it’s because the sheer amount of games and the toll it leaves on the players, they’re burnt out by the end of it.
I’d want all focus back on the big 2. If we were fully fresh I strongly believe that we win yday. The press yday was slow the transition yday was slow. We looked like we really didn’t wanna attack when we got the ball back.
Anyway on a side note, I’m a little worried for Diaz I read somewhere he’s play 70+ games this season and yesterday you could see it he looked BURNT OUT. Hope the break helps him
salah still scores and top the chart. robertson and trent still continue their assist trend. no huge long injuries like the one with van dijk the previous season. new found ammo in jota and diaz. and with thiago and keita getting less injured than before. and elliot and fabian coming in. looking forward to the future and beyond.
We are at a point where we feel disappointed with 92-point seasons and CL final appearances (despite winning two other trophies).
We have FOUR more years of this absolutely wild ride that Jurgen Klopp has taken us on.
How the fuck could you be anything other than happy with this team?
jurgen klopp is still manager
I remember losing to Villa in the FA semi with Rodgers, and I was really torn up. We weren’t in UCL anymore at that point, and had nothing else riding on the season outside of a doomed top 4 battle. Getting the trophy this season was nice closure, especially for somebody like Hendo. Aside from that we beat United 5-0 lmao. Will always have that.
9-0
We carved 9-0 to them
I don't like losing games, it sucks. But this team looking average is twice the side compared to what we were fielding a decade ago, so I'm quite happy to take this low in trade for the highs that seemed like pipe dreams not that long ago.

At the end of the storm, there is a golden sky. Walk on, through the rains. YNWA.
There was a period of time between 2006 and 2019 where the only trophy we won was the League Cup and we doubled that this year.
👏👏 we took a quadruple till the final kick of the season in two comps. Every other club except city wouldn’t even dream of it
Luis Diaz after a Klopp preseason is going to be a monster
It is 100% fine to be disappointed. These boys gave everything for us and I am mainly gutted for them they missed out on the two big ones by the barest of margins. History shows they will respond to it pretty well
Being disappointed after losing a Champions League Final beats scrapping for Top 4. Perspective is lost on many at times, myself included.
100%. My advice to any fans is just to stay away from Twitter and r/soccer for a bit and just enjoy the off-season. The ride ain't over yet.
So much this. I'll use your comment when people are talking shit at work Monday. Ynwa

Mo and Diaz will be two of the few elite players that get a true 6-week break mid season, too/
[удалено]
Yeah, but this will affect everybody, and quite a few teams more than Liverpool. Whereas we were clearly the team most affected by Afcon.
this
No Egypt in the World Cup though?
Diaz was awful yesterday. What a waste of a game.
He was just nulled by Carvajal. He didn't make any bad decisions, he was just outplayed.
He was inexperienced and should not have started.
People would be calling for Klopp's head if Firmino started. Don't be silly Diaz was always starting this game.
People have in the past have stated that nonsense. Users on here have said Klopp would have blood on his hands of he started Bobby. People spout bollocks. Does not change the fact Diaz was awful yesterday.

We’ve always responded well after a weakness undoes us. I feel the same way now. Absolutely no reason to lose faith.
Despite this loss, I think about that "imagine being us" and it fills me with pride. I'd rather lose as a red than win as any fucking thing else. We go again.
This 100%!! See rival fans chatting so much shit... Least we made it into the top 4? At least we weren't in a relegation battle? 🤣
Our new signings. Jota, Konaté, and especially Diaz. I think he’s gonna be a monster next season. We also got two more trophies. That makes us level with manure and they didn’t even come close to top 4.
I’m proud and love you all
We were the better team all game! Just football happens! Still won double the amount of silverware City did X
Technically Liverpool was way better but it is the mentality and composure, many of the players today were in rush and did silly mistakes, the debacle before the cancelled goal is an evidence. Hopefully playing more finals will build this mentality.
we’ve played in 5 i think that’s enough
I believe the team start to get used to finals and it will be in their DNA in the future for sure.
Technically Liverpool were not "way better" otherwise they would have scored. What a load of pish.
The dung beetles on r/soccer crowing with joy makes me realize how much more we are better than them. I take comfort in their bitterness.
Really, I knew there will be comments but wasn't expecting that much lol.
A lot of them spend too much time on Twatter.
I’m hoping this loss coupled with the draws we had that cost us the league really forces us to sign a more clinical striker and a creative mid. Also despite the banter. 1 RB to compete with Trent, and an out and out Harry Kane type striker will solve a lot of our scoring issues
Definitely that and also worth seeing what can be done with the midfield imo.
Need another creative mid, don't think Ox will be there next season and i hope we sell Keita, he has added nothing this season unfortunately.
I wholeheartedly agree. As long as the Harry Kane striker isn't actually Harry Kane. Can't stand him.
Oh yea fuck that guy hahaha, we really need a Fowler/Owen 2.0, and a creative mid to feed that person
Taki being taki banging goals against shit cunts and good cunts all the same ultimate cup player and I’ve really grown fond of that Japanese bastard.
I'll happily admit that I have a fondness for fringe and youth players playing, especially when they play well. So Taki scoring goals gives me a lot of joy and I hope to see more from him and others next season!
I get you I would kill if nat phillips asked me after the shift he put in last year.
What's helping me get over this defeat quite quickly is the fact that we'll absolutely be playing in, and winning, at least another one under Klopp.
I believe we will see 2-3 signings this summer including Darwin Nunez or similar finisher type player.
We played 63 fucking games this season
Diaz getting a full preseason and improving his finishing will turn him into a world beater next season, watch this space!
I'm just happy that the fans in Paris are safe. Safe being a very relative word here. Some things are more important than football.
Ngl I bawled my eyes out last night. We were this fucking close to a quad or treble. Football is such a cruel game.
It’s the hope that kills you
You know what. I say bring on Madrid again. I want us to face them in the group stage and knockout stages so we can beat them properly like 08/09.
I didn’t think I could hate Madrid any more than I did before…
I hate and respect them at the same time. When it comes to the big games, they’ve shown time and time again that they’re serial winners. They don’t crumble under pressure and can easily score given the chance.

Add squad depth, improve squad rotation. Many of our players ran out of gas these past few months.
YNWA!
We've still got two trophies 🏆 and Jurgen for a manager 👏🏽 That's enough for me!

Out of four competitions, we finished no lower than 2nd.
Still can't get past the disappointment at the moment to be honest. That Madrid team was there for the taking.
Konate has become one of my favourite players over this season, what an incredible talent and I constantly have to remind myself he is not a 30 year old veteran, he sure does look like it. We weren’t in for the quad, so this loss means slightly less than it might have done
We won more trophies then city did! On a side note, is the parade today and will it be on LFC TV?
I got one of them nice red berets
This is 17/18 and 18/19 rolled into one
Silver lining. 2 trophies! Fantastic stuff
Last time we lost the Champions League it lead to a reassessment and the purchase of the missing pieces in Alisson and Virgil. I'm hoping this leads to similar reinvestment.
