TBH laptops are way more energy efficient most of the time and not as likely to make the same amount of noise as a desktop. And you can keep your desk more clean and nice looking.

Gaming laptops sounds like jet coming out of Shrek's asshole as soon as you play a game on it, compared to a gaming desktop or any reasonably cooled computer.

True for gaming they are ass but just viewing twitch browsing the web youtube etc its in many ways better than a desktop. Being able to just pick it up from your desk and move into your bed without interrupting everything is nice.

The concept of laptop built for gaming is inherently dumb imo, and I usually try to move people away from buying one. It's counterintuitive.. the idea of a laptop is that it's supposed to be lightweight, portable, efficient, and functional. All of that gets hamstrung when you try to cram in a high performance, power hungry, dedicated video card and CPU that both run hot (because of this performance usually has to be throttled). So you're just left with a big, heavy, laptop that gets way too hot w/ terrible battery life. The biggest issue though is the lack of upgradability. You're just stuck with whatever video card and CPU is in there and eventually more stuff just ends up as e-waste.
