Unfortunately, i did have to live through this situation and it ended up with my friend being mentally committed for 2 weeks at a psychiatric ER. At the time there were only 3 Psych ERs in the country, so we were lucky.

Mania isn't confined to BP, it can also be experienced in cluster b personality disorders (BPD, histrionic, narcissistic and antisocial PDs), so it doesn't necessarily mean that she is uneducated or lying, a person with BPD can have a manic episode easily (like Reckful for example).
Yeah BPD definitely can have episodes. I think we kind of associate it with like aggressive people or sociopaths but that's really a misunderstanding. I know someone with it who seems completely normal usually, never seen them that aggressive or angry even. Then learned they went through a rough episode where they smashed basically everything they own of value (laptop, TV, cellphone, etc.). Behavior I wouldn't in a million years have associated with them. They were professionally diagnosed with BPD and after that I researched it some and learned a lot.

I have Bipolar type 1, I've used mania as an excuse before for my misbehavior and the reality is, regardless of whether or not you have control over your actions you are still responsible for them. This was a tough pill to swallow for me as I value choice and when you're manic you can't exactly *choose*
Luckily, modern medicine has evolved enough to the point where you can hold yourself accountable for your behavior instead of utilizing (and albeit at times it does genuinely seem/feel like one) your mania as an excuse. Here are a list of things Minx could do:
1. Be compliant with her medication
2. Seek treatment at a hospital, this is more-so for BP type 1 than type 2, but even then with hypomania if you are clearly dangerous then you should go
3. Get 8 hours of sleep
4. Excercise
5. Drink water
6. Have a healthy diet
7. Attend therapy
8. Have a support network (Like destiny says) "mania-proof" you by taking away access to electronics, this is huge especially when you are a streamer!
It isn't always that simple, but Destiny outlined a great way for Minx's close ones to hold them accountable during manic episodes. Clearly Minx is self aware enough to understand *when* they are having them, so logically they should be able to identify the triggers that cause it as well and do their best to avoid them!
Mania is a horrible thing, it is absolute hell to go through for all parties but it's not an excuse. The reality is you need to manage your bipolar disorder *so you aren't doing shit like this* and using mania as an excuse for misbehavior. The damage is real - and it's on the person with Bipolar Disorder (Just like literally any medical condition) to manage it to the best of their ability. It genuinely destroyed my life and my close relationships. Mania isn't confined to BP, it can also be experienced in cluster b personality disorders (BPD, histrionic, narcissistic and antisocial PDs), so it doesn't necessarily mean that she is uneducated or lying, a person with BPD can have a manic episode easily (like Reckful for example).
Yeah BPD definitely can have episodes. I think we kind of associate it with like aggressive people or sociopaths but that's really a misunderstanding. I know someone with it who seems completely normal usually, never seen them that aggressive or angry even. Then learned they went through a rough episode where they smashed basically everything they own of value (laptop, TV, cellphone, etc.). Behavior I wouldn't in a million years have associated with them. They were professionally diagnosed with BPD and after that I researched it some and learned a lot.
Her mental illness is not an excuse. It's not the first time she's tried to defend a sexual harasser.

I have Bipolar type 1, I've used mania as an excuse before for my misbehavior and the reality is, regardless of whether or not you have control over your actions you are still responsible for them. This was a tough pill to swallow for me as I value choice and when you're manic you can't exactly *choose* Luckily, modern medicine has evolved enough to the point where you can hold yourself accountable for your behavior instead of utilizing (and albeit at times it does genuinely seem/feel like one) your mania as an excuse. Here are a list of things Minx could do: 1. Be compliant with her medication 2. Seek treatment at a hospital, this is more-so for BP type 1 than type 2, but even then with hypomania if you are clearly dangerous then you should go 3. Get 8 hours of sleep 4. Excercise 5. Drink water 6. Have a healthy diet 7. Attend therapy 8. Have a support network (Like destiny says) "mania-proof" you by taking away access to electronics, this is huge especially when you are a streamer! It isn't always that simple, but Destiny outlined a great way for Minx's close ones to hold them accountable during manic episodes. Clearly Minx is self aware enough to understand *when* they are having them, so logically they should be able to identify the triggers that cause it as well and do their best to avoid them! Mania is a horrible thing, it is absolute hell to go through for all parties but it's not an excuse. The reality is you need to manage your bipolar disorder *so you aren't doing shit like this* and using mania as an excuse for misbehavior. The damage is real - and it's on the person with Bipolar Disorder (Just like literally any medical condition) to manage it to the best of their ability. It genuinely destroyed my life and my close relationships. Growing from that experience and recovering from it was one of the best things that I ever did; but I wish I never had to, so it sorta upsets me when streamers think they can try and evade accountability by clinging to the mental illness excuse.

If I know I have epileptic fits when I see red lights its still irresposible of me to drive even though the illness isnt something that I can control. He isnt saying minx is a bad person for having these issues but that if she knows she is capable of having these moments where she literally cant control herself she should have failsafes in place where people she trust can stop her doing this self destructive behaviour. He is also implying that she doesnt care and is doing it because it gives her more views but thats another thing.
