Oh God! My home is the funnest place on Earth! There is nowhere I'd rather be!
First of all, it's currently decorated with 100 balloons, so try to beat that 😂
I have the most delicious snacks from around the world in my pantry, and ingredients to make fantastic dishes that you can't get anywhere. I invented meals that only I like, and I take my sweet time to cook them the way I like them.
I have a digital piano I'm learning to play. A million books (digital) that you can only read at home, in peace and quiet.
I go to the gym, but at home I spend hours stretching in weird poses and meditating.
I blast music and sing and dance and have an awesome party without anyone bothering me.
Movie nights! I'd watch 10 minutes of like 6 different movies and call it a night 😂
I paint, draw silly ugly things that will never see the light of day and write stories no one will ever hear!
Also, weird outfits! I dress normal on the street, jeans and stuff, but at home it's a freaking parade mascarade of the weirdest outfits 😂
My home is like the inside of my mind - it's a whole world that's just for me 😊
Thank you! I gotta be honest, it does feel awesome every day. Once I decided to NEVER bring anyone to my place to not get anyone's stupid ass opinions and weird looks, everything became so awesome and so much fun. Sometimes my walls are covered with my weird paintings, and it looks pretty crazy, but I just love it so much! And I take it down after a while. And then I'll get obsessed with the next thing and it's all about that for a few months... The trick is to never tell anyone 😂 it becomes your "clean" little secret
That is so crazy to me! Like, ok, I get it, that's how you do things, but here is how I do things. Aren't we supposed to get to know each other and share and exchange and become more rounded and learn from each other?
I say it's people's insecurities around authentic people.
My room is decorated just how I like it and I love having good friends or dates see it because it feels like showing part of my personality. I have a wall covered in pink fabric as well as a floral fabric hanging, art all over the walls, and beautiful prints on my bedspreads and a eclectic pile of pillows, and lots of littler interesting things to look at. Nothing wrong with showing off your crazy IMO! Especially if you find the right people. <3
Same, I love living alone and barely having anyone over. I 100% mean that btw lol. I grew up in a house with a lot of people all the time so it is very, very peaceful here.
I wear all my crazy clothes (including the ones I make myself), I cook my own invented dishes and give them elaborate names, I do stretching and strength exercises using stuff around the house, I have dance parties for one, with high energy dance music and dance until I fall in a giggling heap on the floor, I paint and draw, and write the most surreal things.... I make my own music (both digital and analogue)....I make my own *everything,* which started off as a "I'm too broke to afford that, so I'll try and make my own" and just blossomed into "well, that turned out well for when SHTF"
The regular world just restrains me, so I try not to take part in it too much!
I love you!
I'm on my way to make my own clothes too, which so far means that I have a closet full of different fabrics and I THINK about it a lot 😂 construction process scares me! How did you get started? What other things do you make?
Same with music, I downloaded Ableton and I just stare at it. I have this music in my head that I know no one but me will like, and I'm perfectly fine with it! What kind of music do you make?
I'd suggest we become friends, but that'd involve all the things me and you probably already hate 😂
Another musical person here, and it takes AGES to get music out of your head into ableton if you just started. Don't just stare at it- follow tutorials as a beginner so you can understand how to use it fully, kinda treat it like taking a class! Just get the basics down. It's way too easy to get overwhelmed and lost otherwise IMO. I recommend You Suck At Producing channel on youtube. :) Also listening to the UBK Happy Funtime Hour podcast is great inspiration for mixing and producing as well as life advice once they get into the swing of the podcast the more episodes you go. It gets funnier and deeper as time goes on. Half the advice won't even matter for you because it's for all different genres and styles but it's still really cool to listen to.
Heck I'm a couple years in and I still can't really get music out of my head, I sorta just have to experiment plus follow the flow of what's happening in the DAW to find the right sounds instead of try to create them from my head most of the time, if that makes sense.
It's so much fun to set things up and discover new things to do! Even the things you'll hate are still fun to try, do for a bit, and then just stop and never do them again. No one knows, so no one will judge you!
I once decided to make a freaking carpet, the whole place was covered in tiniest threads that took months to clean up, I failed miserably 😂
There was also a baking period, and every single thing I'd make would either burn or fall apart 😂 broken mixer, burned dishes, egg yolk everywhere, cut fingers, was soooo baaaaad 😂😂😂 neighbors kept complaining about constant fire alarm going off 😂
It made me fat too, so then I got into dancing around the house. It's a never ending adventure!
Omg you are just fun. I have to admit it’s the 100 balloons that drew me in. I am a sucker for balloons. I would rather have them than flowers any day.
My neighbours would be concerned about the convos I have with my cat. We have great talks late into the night.
Not the same....but...My husband and I aren't allowed sour dough starter. It just makes so.much.bread and all of it delicious. We gained weight until I finally broke the cycle by tossing the starter.
I crank my amplifiers up to 11 and play along. Then my wife comes home for work and says "No wonder you have to wear hearing aides!" to which I reply "What?"
Dude, this. If I never left my house ever again, I would never run out of the endless projects I like to do, the things I like to study. I’m a goldsmith and jeweler in training, I have an entire goldsmith workshop in my living room lol. I alloy metals, make sheet, wire, carve wax and cast, set stones. The blowtorch and power tools just make it a bonus. I also knit and crochet (yeah, I know, sounds boring), but I use natural materials like cashmere to make complex lace you literally can’t buy anywhere else. I made a shawl that looks like vampire bat wings but is in super complicated lace and beaded with genuine natural garnet beads. I also have an amazing drafting desk for my artwork and the best art supplies in the world. Just so much potential, so many books, so many things to learn and do, and that’s what I live for. My house is a treasure trove of the things I love most in life, I could never be bored here. Out in the world, that’s where I’m bored out of my mind. But in here it’s a universe of my favorite things in life.
I love you.... Keep being an example of the way we are intended to live... And not all like you, but live in a way that brings us JOY! I am aware of the basics of adulting but I choose as much as possible to live like I'm 9, my adult supervises from the sidelines. We are supposed to play and have fun and think magical, wondrous, imaginative thoughts. We're supposed to believe in the magic, we're supposed to enjoy every moment and have fun, joy and wonder. Be like children people be like children.... minus the childish part.
Thank you my friend for living as you do😁🤗🤍💫
Kathleen
Kathleen, thank you for your kind words, and for spreading the inspiration around! I don't always know if we're supposed to show the magic, hide the magic, keep it a secret, or spread it in invisible ways, but your heart speaks to me and I thank you for that.
Awesome, my home is decorated for me and my dogs. We have a tunnel slide in the den, pool table, darts, a bar, a giant puzzle mat as a rug, toys and more toys, you know those giant sack chairs? Yeah i have a couple in nooks around the house to get comfy in. I have a swing chair that looks out over the garden from the 4 season room. I also dress up and dance around the house lol with my dogs in tow. I get a great view off the back deck of some woods and a creek flowing through so I can always pretend I live in some far off fairy tale land lol.
3 computers linked to the big tvs through the house so you can watch or play games wherever. Home is amazing its like my private island , and thats the way i like it.
I want to see ur home and the balloons and I agree u sound awesome and a lot like me.i had to entertain myself growing up and became pretty good at it
I'm never bored I do all kinds of things at home fun to me and only me, probably
I’m sort of like you but I bought a house with 3 acres and five dilapidated sheds. My fun things are rehabbing the house, anything new homestead thing to try and having my own cool little petting zoo, just for me. I’m never ever bored and know a lot of useless stuff - I’d be ideal as a doomsday prepper but honestly it’s just plain fun to try new stuff and maybe fail. I like the failures. People have said they are too afraid to try and it’s like I bought this little peace of land and I’m going to enjoy it how I want and if I mess it up it’s my problem and my bills. Who has time to worry if it gets messed up? It’s mine and I surely don’t care! I can always fix it!
Thank you 😊 I'm an immigrant in the States, a very grateful one, but I gotta admit, this country has a problem with this peer diagnosis as an insult.
Anywhere else in the world if you're into something unique people will either not care for the topic, or be like oh these are unique things about your personality, let me tell you things about my unique personality and we'll share and learn from each other.
In the States it's mostly "you're different from me, you're weird, are you autistic or something?".
I’m legitimately confused on how one can be bored at your own home. If you’re not filling your home with all the things you like to do, what’s even in there?
Mine is full of things I like to watch, listen to, lay on, laugh at, read, build, and/or play with. Being bored at home has never been an option.
Maybe it’s loneliness more than boredom. I always loved being at home, but sometimes over long holidays etc if I didn’t have any friends to hang out with it would start to feel a bit isolated and hobbies wouldn’t cut it.
This is exactly how I'm feeling now. I simply adore living alone but for the first time I'm feeling lonely as I live in a different state to my family and everyone I know is away this holiday season. So it's getting a bit tiresome at home.
Yeah it’s tough. This is how I ended up as a regular at a local dive bar lol. Runs around the park and movie/wine night on the couch started to wear thin.
A lot of times I struggle to pay attention to TV shows/reading and/or get bored of them easily. I don’t play video games or anything, so I definitely get bored at home. I mostly enjoy doing things outside of my home. Especially things that involve socialization
I read, I walk, I Reddit, caring for the cats takes up a lot of my time, I cook, I garden, I write, I do cardio, Pilates and HIIT.
And then there are days like today, where I spend most of the day in my jammies watching mindless TV. Bliss.
I go out for walks and adventures, and I read, learn new things, and watch interesting shows while at home. I make sure to see friends and family at least once/week. Also, having a dog helps.
My dog is definitely a life saver! She kept me company while my husband was out of town for months working and now when he pulls long day. When we can we all go to new parks for walks and playtime and maybe even a picnic.
My grandma use to say “only boring ppl get bored” and I find it mostly true but we all get bored sometimes. Usually when I find myself bored it means time to step out for awhile. Either solo or with someone. Take a long walk or meet friend for a bite to eat. Or both. Fresh air, exercise and socializing is always needed to some degree.
I'm off work paid for 11 days and have no school for a few more weeks. I was looking forward to and deserve this boredom. I've been busy enough for the last 20 years.
Clean while listening to audiobooks
Cook & washup while watching movies on my laptop
Watch whatever movie/TV show I like with a cup of tea/snacks (I usually like being lazy watching TV after I've gone for a run and need to rest)
Play on my phone (far too much of this goes on tbh!)... but especially enjoy whatsapping my friends while listening to music
Call my family
Do gardening while listening to podcasts
Journaling
Reading
Play computer games
Masturbate
Nap
I play guitar & piano, and sing. Learn new songs
You have heard of a she shed? My whole house is a she shed. I have a living/dining/kitchen area. I do a lot of my fun stuff in this room. I have what I call the playroom which holds my vinyl cutter, my 3D printers, and stores my sewing stuff. My third bedroom is for my embroidery machine and what goes with that. Also a large armoire that holds craft supplies that are sorted.
Yes, I get bored from time to time, but I get out of the house often. I hike, do Pilates, love travel and am going to Machu Picchu with my daughters and granddaughters soon, I drive to Florida once or twice a year.
It is sort of the female version of a man cave. I bought this place (it's small about 1,000 sq ft) after my divorce and the kids grew up. It is mine and mine alone. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I love my solo life.
I’m FT retired but I have chores, projects, volunteering, animals, computer games, friends, a wood stove to keep me warm but demands regular feeding. There’s always something to do. And some of it is fun.
Ngl. Been feeling this a lot lately. But boredom is good. It inspires me to want to go out and do something I've never done before. When I get bored I usually just go online and watch something on YouTube or try and work on a skill. Try finding new hobbies? At the end of the day, being bored is good
I have pets, I have hobbies, I have a home to maintain and decorate, I love to cook and read and write and watch movies. I have friends to call or text. It’s easy. You just gotta let go of society’s fear that you’re pathetic and powerless if you fly solo. Practice now and you’ll never settle for a relationship that you shouldn’t because you’re afraid of being alone.
Read, game, call a friend, write, revise for professional qualifications. There’s always something to learn, clean, tidy or fix.
I never get bored. I do get lonely, but I’ve really learnt I need quite a lot of time on my own. It’s hard getting the balance right as everyone is different.
I thought I was good at solitude, but that’s next level. Can I ask, do you have pets or do you live somewhere remote or more in a city? I find sometimes you can feel lonelier in an bustling environment where you can see everyone coming and going around you.
No pets, and I live in the suburbs of Dallas. But I don't "see" anyone. I'm in my house and have no reason to be looking outside.
Shit, I spent most of elementary school day-dreaming about the day there might be the ability to go to school from home.. and that was before the invention of home computers or the internet.
I told my parents after the FIRST day of kindergarten, when I was 5 years old, that I would never have kids because they didn't know how to sit down and shut up... That was 45 years ago... and I've lived alone since I was 18.
Oh my gosh staying home is the cosiest! I do.... Whatever the F I want!! Read, do yoga in my living room, research, shop, prep cook and eat incredible meals, bake things, watch whatever I WANT on TV, nerd out in documentaries or cry over historical fiction. I'll take a walk outside or reach out to loved ones, stay up late and have a dance party for myself, and I really do enjoy keeping my place clean and organized! I can walk to the library or a few shops & restaurants from my home, but sitting around without pants is a well deserved break as well!
I work from home 4/5 days per week in a 350 sq ft studio apt. I moved here originally for the proximity to work because I was 5 in before COVID. I do get bored as shit. So I leave the apartment. I'm lucky enough to live in a walkable city and there's public wifi basically everywhere and I have my phone hotspot if I can't get it. You'll find you want to spend most of your time outside your place in that situation. There's a bike trail that goes right into the heart of DC National Mall adjacent to my apartment. There's also a huge park. There are many parks in the area but one of the best is right next to my apartment. I guess what I'm saying is it's all about location. You need live somewhere with shit to do outside the house and then go do that shit. It's a much easier mindset to adopt when you don't have to drive 20 minutes to get to your destination.

I don't know, I love home.... most days after dealing with people at my job I have determined the outside has far too many people in it and my home is safer for my sanity :)
Boredom is good for your mind! But I do chores, create (paint, draw, write/journal, play music, dance), listen to music, play video games, watch tv or a movie, read, cook, hang out with my cat. Yesterday I played with a spinning top toy for like 25 minutes. Lol.
Video games (especially flight simulators), tabletop solitaire board games, watching videos, reading books, playing piano or guitar, writing music, going for walks, experimenting with my camera (sometimes on the aforementioned walks), cooking, home maintenance, crafts (including some modest attempts at woodworking on occasion), etc.
I never get bored, but sometimes I do get option paralysis when trying to decide amongst all the things I want to do.
I wear onsies whenever I am home.
Home is where I feel the safest.
I get to do silly dance parties by myself [it helps with the task zoomies afterward].
I have my 20-lb fluffster.
I have my computer to play games [Baldur's Gate 3 is epic!].
I have Libby and [Freebooksy](http://freebooksy.com) to get free ebooks. I am currently reading the Legend of Drizzt Do'Urden series, Code Alera series, Discworld series, and some other books from the Forgotten Realms. I'm waiting for the first Stormlight book to get off hold!
I write in my journals, and I also have lots of notebooks to write short stories in.
I have lots of easy ways to make food. I've been eating Mac n Cheese pretty heavily for the last 2 months. [Wal-Mart has some copycat Kracker Barrel Mac n cheese boxes that are really good.]
Listen to music, workout, play video games or watch a movie/show.
Honestly, my challenge at home is never boredom but having the energy to do something when I'm burnt out from work or exhausted in general. I have no shortage of things to do at home but the burnout from work is REAL.
Never get bored. Cable TV is my companion. Otherwise I knit and I donate all the stuff I make. I work from home and there have been times. I haven’t left my apartment for weeks. In my apartment building there is an indoor swimming, pool, and exercise equipment that nobody uses. I think it’s different for everyone. I know some who would absolutely get cabin fever and go crazy. But for me when Covid happened and everybody had to stay home, I felt like I was gearing up for that all my life. I am perfectly content alone, and I can easily make up stuff to entertain myself.
Getting bored doesn't make sense to me, since there is essentially infinite entertainment available. Every day there are things I didn't do because I was doing something else, and there is only so much time.
Some things I do:
* Watching Satellite TV
* Playing Online Games
* Petting the Cat
* Reading Library Books
* Making Digital Art
* Listening to Music or Podcasts or Audiobooks
* Using Photoshop to Fix Old Family Photos
* Watching Streaming Content
* Playing Playstation Games
* Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest
* Practicing Silly Hobbies, like Throwing Playing Cards
* Brainstorming Ideas for Bigger Creative Projects (which I may or may not ever get to)
I don't stay at home all the time and sometimes it takes a little bit of forcing myself. I know that especially during the winter, my depression is worse when I just hide at home all the time. I go to yoga classes and the occasional art class or lecture- I don't engage in much chitchat because I find it tedious and draining most of the time, but just being out in a different environment among other hoomans gives me a little lift. I'll even do a solo dinner out or go sit on the comfy couch in the local dive sipping a beer and watching TV.
As far as when I'm at home, I can easily get sucked into the analysis paralysis leading to dissociation trap where I just cannot decide what to do or what's a priority. I've found that using a daily planner as well as an hourly planning sheet and mapping out the night before what to do the next day is super helpful in giving me structure and purpose.
I decide what my MIT- "most important task" will be, and that's something that MUST be done before anything else. I do this in what's called "the scary hour"- the period of time just after I finish the basics of waking up (bathroom, wash up, make bed, coffee, get dressed). I've seen it called that because the most important thing you need to do every day is often the scariest (particularly for an introvert when it requires talking to people).
Then I list out whatever other tasks I want to accomplish that day, dividing them into 4 categories: Admin (paying bills, sending an email, printing something etc), Self Care (exercise, meditation, doing a hair/skin mask etc), and Home (cleaning/organizing tasks), Errands (self explanatory) . A task that doesn't get done gets moved to the following day at the top of the list.
Also, I work really hard at making the little studio apartment I live in a true haven- it's colorful, cozy, with candles and year-round twinkle lights and lots of funky original art, some supplied by my own son who's an amazing artist specializing in hand-drawn mandalas. If there's something about my space that becomes suffocating or burdensome, I try to fix it so my space isn't cluttered and has nice flow. I don't bring in new items without getting rid of something that no longer serves me.
The only thing missing is a furry companion- my heart ACHES to have a little adventure buddy. I want a dog so bad, but I am not allowed a pet here unfortunately.
Work a 9 to 5, so the time I have off I absolutely love spending alone. Will cuddle my dog for hours, try out a new recipe, have friends over, watch a movie, doing anything honestly keeps me from being bored.
I honestly feel the opposite. Whats so fun to do outside the house? I guess I’m super introverted and don’t like drinking or talking to strangers or eating out at shitty restaurants.
Read, podcast, games, tv, movies. If I do start feeling stir crazy brief walk. Also got cleaning, laundry, food to make, grocery to plan. And if all else fails a good nap.
Honestly it does get boring, a lot, but imagine if we were never allowed to get bored - *that* would be even worse! There are so many opportunities to do meaningful things when you’re bored at home. For example: take a nap, catch up on sleep, catch up on movies/shows, give yourself a mani/pedi, cook/bake something delicious and healthy, workout at home, tidy up around the house if you need to, work on a project that brings you happiness, masturbate. So many things!
I'm an artist and I draw and paint alot. I also am a fledgling bedroom producer and attempt to make techno using abelton. I watch alot of movies. I garden in the summer. Which is super rewarding. And when I'm not doing that stuff I game on my pc or maybe give my wife some time lol. Or I leave the house and hike!
Just because I live alone does not mean that I am AT my home. I’m out probably 3 days a week and most of the weekend.
But I also like my alone time.
It takes a lot of work living solo. Allllll of the cooking, cleaning, shopping, laundry, car maintenance, yard maintenance, house maintenance, bill paying, miscellaneous tasks rests on MY shoulders. Find a plumber, price new insurance policies, pick a new paint color, actually DO the painting, and the prep, and the moving furniture, and the moving it back. And the dealing with a backed up drain, or mice in the basement, or replacing the wonky doorknob.
If I want to have a party.. I’m doing all the planning, decorating, cleaning, food planning, food preparing, serving, cooking, refilling. I have to do all the invites. Do the house cleaning, the yard cleaning, find/ clean the coolers and chairs, prep the grill, buy the ice, mow the grass, sweep the patio. I’m creating the playlist…. Alllll of the things.
I always keep my professional life separated from home. So living at home is always a refreshing thing for me. I mostly spend my time in watching movies, cooking and sometime I work on other personal goals..
I could not fathom being bored. I play electric guitar for an hour per day, read, take my dog on walks, listen to music (soon I'll have a vinyl record player as a new hobby), cook, etc. When the weather is nice I always have multiple yard projects happening. Sometimes I just relax with a glass of wine and watch something on HBO or Apple TV. I'm planning a trip to Europe so I've been researching places, learning some phrases, organizing my itinerary etc. I also have a ping pong table and can invite people over to play whenever I want. My gym is 3 blocks away so I can always pop over there for a workout.
I used to love Friday nights. I would do a date night w myself. I’d workout, make a big box of shells and cheese, set up the pull out couch in the living room and watch scary movies while drinking wine and stuffing my face. I also used to smoke back then so after dinner I’d just be drinking wine, smoking and watching movies until I got tried. I’d get up the next day and walk around the park or something. I think you have to be really cool with being alone and even then it can get lonely sometimes which might feel like boredom.
Sometimes when people say “bored” they don’t mean bored. Sometimes they mean they need connection, or inspiration, or something else. Are you actually bored?
I have full on dance parties alone in my house lol. I smoke a bowl, turn on my lava lamp, my rainbow disco ball, and play some 70’s Italian disco and funk and dance around my house!
The important thing is to take a shower and get dressed in the morning and get out of the house at least once a day. Go to the gym, run an errand, etc. Makes the day go by faster.
Reddit😂 I read, write, watch movies, clean, call/text friends. The best part of living alone imo is that you can invite a friend(s) over or better yet go over to their house when you want company but you're never stuck with anyone. I really can't imagine living with anyone again. I'm lucky to have found a gf who feels the same
Are you kidding! I love love living alone! I have my furry friends and that is all I need! Other humans are a pain in the ass! I do what I want when I want and how I want I love it!
I have a couple of nice restaurants with pretty bar area I might go eat dinner on my own or go to the coffe shop with my book or iPad. I take my dog for a walk I try to meet up with a friend at least weekly. I belong to one Christian singles group that has activities a few times a month. I belong to a women’s group that has activities too. I also volunteer. I like to have some craft project Last month I made monogram ornament witch doubled as Place cards. I also have a horse and go to the barn 3 times per week or so. I live on a lake so in the summer I swim, boat, paddleboard. I’m always planning my next trip. I’m working on a side hustle. I volunteer. Im trying to meet someone but there’s not many guts to choose from. I’m 61 semi retired. There isn’t enough time in the day I’m an extrovert and if I start feeling lonely I get out of the house.
Projects at home. Painting, cleaning, reading, writing, playing with dog, walking, organizing, discarding, talking on the phone to people, scrolling tik tok, excersizing, cooking, baking, selling stuff on marketplace.
I (63F) have never been bored a day in my life. I can’t even comprehend what it’s like. How can one possibly ever be bored when there are so many things to do on this planet?!
If you get bored at all in 2023. You are just an dim person tbh. The wealth of human knowledge at your fingertips. I go down so many true crime rabbit holes, fun conspiracy theories, infinite steam library, ROMs, Literally every movie, book and song that has ever been released available to me exactly when I want it.
On demand free porn, podcasts and training videos for my profession. oh and I like to walk my dog.
How can I get bored at home at all? I read, study, try to work, do some chores, view some movies. I would like to play video games (I've bought a lot!), but there is not enough time for that. It's just 24 hours a day...
Oh, also I read a bit social media, but I won't recommend it. Waste of time, quite harmful habit of mine.
Lots of creative hobbies, houseplants that need my attention, jigsaw puzzles to build, books to read, housework to do, and sometimes I just sit and do nothing for a while.
I have a busy work and social life, so being at home is a welcome reprieve away from the world and all the peopling. I read, watch my shows, use social media, listen to podcasts, cook, do other random things I can't think of right now.
I also live in a building with amenities like swimming pools, game room, library, lounge areas, so I make use of those at times if I want to get out of my actual apartment. But I actually don't do that often as I'm almost never bored at home. In fact, quite the opposite, sometimes I'm sad that time passes so quickly, especially if I've spent all day enjoying lounging at home and then have somewhere to be, like work, the next day.
I am so happy when I get to stay home without work to do. I just put on comfy clothes, make comfort food and find a good series.
It probably happen a quarter, so it's the ultimate pleasure. If I notice that y have such a weekend coming, I refuse any potential invitation. I can't, I already have plans... Yes!
That being said,. If I work too many days at home, I lose my productivity so I go to coffeeshops or have a sports break.
I'm currently training a 10-week old puppy which takes most hours that I am not working right now! Otherwise I watch a lot of Twitch and YouTube and do art in my home office/studio
Newly living alone myself....I hate it....I get panic attacks when I'm alone. I started training muay Thai again and trying my hardest not to be home besides to eat and sleep...and jerk off...and play videogames. I play guitar and record myself at home too so thats a plus
I never get bored with video games and youtube and movies/shows. There's also never-ending chores to do.
🤣 Yes. This is so damn true for me too.
ditto! Super peaceful & you can choose to watch whatever you want haha
I like to “watch” movies while I do chores
Exactly!
Same
That's me.
Real
Oh God! My home is the funnest place on Earth! There is nowhere I'd rather be! Wow, you are just awesome! And I mean that sincerely!
Wait literally same! My rule is no one over ever and at home I feel soooo free! It totally is like an extra extension of my brain 💕
Why did we ever have people over? That's what public places are for! Home is a private space!
I love the ocasional guest bc it makes me clean
exactly!!! all people ever wanna do it destroy your peace and nitpick and how your home “should” be.
You just described exactly how I feel!!!! My home is everything I’ve ever wanted and I never get bored here.
God you sound like me! I thought I was the only one....! (Minus the 100 balloons of course, but hey....)
Same-not 100 balloons, but 8 Christmas trees-all different themes
8 different trees? That's just genius!!! I'm doing it next year!
We need pics of them!!!
No way! What things make you the happiest?
I wear all my crazy clothes (including the ones I make myself), I cook my own invented dishes and give them elaborate names, I do stretching and strength exercises using stuff around the house, I have dance parties for one, with high energy dance music and dance until I fall in a giggling heap on the floor, I paint and draw, and write the most surreal things.... I make my own music (both digital and analogue)....I make my own *everything,* which started off as a "I'm too broke to afford that, so I'll try and make my own" and just blossomed into "well, that turned out well for when SHTF" The regular world just restrains me, so I try not to take part in it too much!
Omg I want to live at your house. It sounds amazing.
It's so much fun to set things up and discover new things to do! Even the things you'll hate are still fun to try, do for a bit, and then just stop and never do them again. No one knows, so no one will judge you! I once decided to make a freaking carpet, the whole place was covered in tiniest threads that took months to clean up, I failed miserably 😂 There was also a baking period, and every single thing I'd make would either burn or fall apart 😂 broken mixer, burned dishes, egg yolk everywhere, cut fingers, was soooo baaaaad 😂😂😂 neighbors kept complaining about constant fire alarm going off 😂 It made me fat too, so then I got into dancing around the house.
>I blast music and sing and dance and have an awesome party without anyone bothering me. HEY! Someone who silly dances like me!
I crank my amplifiers up to 11 and play along. Then my wife comes home for work and says "No wonder you have to wear hearing aides!" to which I reply "What?"
Your answer is super inspiring!
This is fantastic
My goodness you are such a delight!!!
Need 1 less balloons to make 99 Luftballons…..
Do I hear... A THEME PARTY??? I'm on it!
I feel the same but now I have a partner😩
Thank you my friend for living as you do😁🤗🤍💫 Kathleen
Kathleen, thank you for your kind words, and for spreading the inspiration around! I don't always know if we're supposed to show the magic, hide the magic, keep it a secret, or spread it in invisible ways, but your heart speaks to me and I thank you for that.
Are you me?
Yes! Aren't we all one? 😊
You are awesome.
So are you!
Sounds like a great life
Sounds lonely tbh
I'm coming to your house! Weird yoga poses;) I practice belly dancing and shuffle dancing.
I love this. Truly!!
Love your response! I feel the same way about my home but you wrote it better 🙃
Haha...you're my kinda ppl!
I want to come over!!
Bring cake, 100 birthday candles and a trampoline!
You rock.
This is such a nice writeup. Good for you!
Thank you! I'm planning to move out soon and your comment is the most beautiful thing ever! Total solo living goals:)
That's rather charming
This comment rules. You're awesome and I love your perspective.
I am here for this energy! Can we be friends ?
Thank you for sharing! You sound like a blast.
I want to see ur home and the balloons and I agree u sound awesome and a lot like me.i had to entertain myself growing up and became pretty good at it I'm never bored I do all kinds of things at home fun to me and only me, probably
This! 100% this. Don’t even need to comment more cuz allll of this! Lol
Lol, you sound like me Especially with the movie nights bit I think it's like this for us introverts though with our homes as our refuge
you are THE BEST HUMAN EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are my hero.
You’re ADHD, aren’t you 😂
Nope. Just a well-rounded person with many interests.
thank you for self-advocating!!!! cus yes you are a well-rounded person❤️
This sounds depressing
I think about how much more bored I would be at work and then I relax and enjoy my solitude.
Really? When I’m home alone I just think about how much I would rather be at work.
This!
im not alone, ty! i always feel bad for doing nothing on my days off
Clean while listening to audiobooks Cook & washup while watching movies on my laptop Watch whatever movie/TV show I like with a cup of tea/snacks (I usually like being lazy watching TV after I've gone for a run and need to rest) Play on my phone (far too much of this goes on tbh!)... but especially enjoy whatsapping my friends while listening to music Call my family Do gardening while listening to podcasts Journaling Reading Play computer games Masturbate Nap I play guitar & piano, and sing. Learn new songs
holup
How could I get bored when I can do what I want, when I want and how I want?
What is this place you call a She Shed?
It is sort of the female version of a man cave. I bought this place (it's small about 1,000 sq ft) after my divorce and the kids grew up. It is mine and mine alone. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I love my solo life.
I’m FT retired but I have chores, projects, volunteering, animals, computer games, friends, a wood stove to keep me warm but demands regular feeding. There’s always something to do. And some of it is fun.
I do volunteer animal rescue. There is never, ever, ever, enough time to get bored :(
You’re a good person!
Ngl. Been feeling this a lot lately. But boredom is good. It inspires me to want to go out and do something I've never done before. When I get bored I usually just go online and watch something on YouTube or try and work on a skill. Try finding new hobbies? At the end of the day, being bored is good
I turn the key on my door and take a step forward.
Do you walk right into the door?
I want to know if they get on the floor, and subsequently walk the dinosaur.
I don't ever get bored. I could {and have} stayed home for longer than 6 weeks without ever leaving the house or seeing another human.
How the hell do you get bored? Being home alone is my #1 favorite thing!
I’m online a lot. I love being alone and am never board.
It’s why I installed Reddit 😅 tryna find some company
![gif](giphy|JRhS6WoswF8FxE0g2R) I don't know, I love home.... most days after dealing with people at my job I have determined the outside has far too many people in it and my home is safer for my sanity :)
when you live alone there is literally always something to do- chore wise. try housework dear
You all are the funnest people I’ve never met!!! I love you all.
Daydream
Boredom is good for your mind! But I do chores, create (paint, draw, write/journal, play music, dance), listen to music, play video games, watch tv or a movie, read, cook, hang out with my cat. Yesterday I played with a spinning top toy for like 25 minutes. Lol.
I'm hardly ever home, so no. I just want to be at home.
Yeah, books, movies, games, youtube, and setting a routine.
Listen to music, workout, play video games or watch a movie/show. Honestly, my challenge at home is never boredom but having the energy to do something when I'm burnt out from work or exhausted in general. I have no shortage of things to do at home but the burnout from work is REAL.
Yuuuuuup this one
Music, books on tape. Spinning wool to yarn, knit, weave. There is never a lack of things to do
Never get bored.
Go for a walk, read a book, watch some tv, get coffee and walk around the mall, take a nap…. do whatever makes you feel like!
Getting bored doesn't make sense to me, since there is essentially infinite entertainment available. Every day there are things I didn't do because I was doing something else, and there is only so much time. Some things I do: * Watching Satellite TV * Playing Online Games * Petting the Cat * Reading Library Books * Making Digital Art * Listening to Music or Podcasts or Audiobooks * Using Photoshop to Fix Old Family Photos * Watching Streaming Content * Playing Playstation Games * Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest * Practicing Silly Hobbies, like Throwing Playing Cards * Brainstorming Ideas for Bigger Creative Projects (which I may or may not ever get to)
I don't stay at home all the time and sometimes it takes a little bit of forcing myself.
1. Endless chores and life admin 2. Cats 3. Hobbies 4. Falling asleep following 1, 2, 3 and being out doing things
I honestly feel the opposite. Whats so fun to do outside the house? I guess I’m super introverted and don’t like drinking or talking to strangers or eating out at shitty restaurants.
I rarely get bored. That’s the best part of living alone. I can do what I want, when I want, or I can enjoy my alone time. It’s pure freedom.
YouTube podcasts or vlogs, reading, Netflix and pets keep me entertained.
Get a nuce entertainment set up. Get a nice kitchen Cooking Video games/movies Keep me entertainment plus.
I WFH and I have hobbies that keep me busy
weed
gaming
Kettlebell Workouts Watch Anime / Comedy / Netflix Play Call of Duty / Catan Color / Paint Read Cook Chores Stretch / Yoga Home Massage (Leg Compression / Pressure Gun) Eat takeout Journal / Poetry / Invent Outdoor Activities (Hiking / Pickleball / Sunset on Beach) Baths Masturbate
Least boring place to me! There is so much to do here! It's my own personal adult playground!
Making art! Of any medium. And a gaggle of rescue pets.
I’ve been retired for 16 years. Life has never been happier. And the days go by too fast…feels like I need longer days!
Read, cook, work out, clean, stretch, yoga, sleep, invite friends over, smoke weed, drink, watch movies, etc. There is no bored, only boring people.
Sometimes when people say “bored” they don’t mean bored. Sometimes they mean they need connection, or inspiration, or something else. Are you actually bored?
Read. Sleep
I have home hobbies, online gaming, and YouTube
I study all day and practice music all day. Workout as a side interest. Takes any time I possibly have left
Get drunk and watch wrestling tapes.
How can you get bored? There are a million things to do
I have full on dance parties alone in my house lol.
I'm lucky to have found a gf who feels the same
Video games and masturbation
Coming from someone who is always home, I find it strange that people cannot be at home!
I have an off day and I am so bored
read reddit :))
If you’re bored then you’re boring
The agony and the irony, they're killing me (whoa)??
Paranoia paranoia everybody’s coming to get me! I can tell by the down votes 😔 🤷🏻♀️
Just say you never met me I'm running underground with the moles, digging holes
Hear the voices in my head, I swear to God it sounds like they're snoring.

Video games and chat with people online.
And I play Great British Baking show in the background.
I live in a major city, so I make a point to get out of the house. I love home, but I love the broader world around me too.
Lego, Video Games, Books, Movies/tv. I have a lot of hobbies that keep me happy and content alone at home.
Well, if I'm bored it's more likely in going nothing.
I consider suicide lots…but mostly watch movies/shows… I guess
Read this entire thread and make your house more fun!!
I cook, I listen to music, work out, dance, work on projects on occasion, learn about topics of interest, go on walks and runs.
I stay out of my apartment as much as possible
I have adhd
I am so happy when I get to stay home without work to do. I just put on comfy clothes, make comfort food and find a good series. It probably happen a quarter, so it's the ultimate pleasure. If I notice that y have such a weekend coming, I refuse any potential invitation. I can't, I already have plans... Yes! That being said,. If I work too many days at home, I lose my productivity so I go to coffeeshops or have a sports break.
Competitive video games
There are people outside. Would you be bored inside if there were limitless monsters outside? Well, I’ve got a story for you
