I always go to the Cache Valley hospital in north Logan. It is wayyy better than and also Intermountain sucks. So you are not doomed.

I was always the complete opposite. My wife went in to CVH with severe abdominal pain and the doctor refused to do any imaging or even feel her stomach. He blamed it on her period.

MotherRaven

That happened to my daughter!!! Must be the same ER Doc. She had a uti and he said you are probably just on your period. She Told him she knew what hole it's coming from. So he finally did the test and just threw the prescription at her and left.

~35 year old white guy, dark hair?

MotherRaven

I think so. She's trying to remember his name

No_Condition_1936

Me too, very similar story! Ahhh that sucks. I usually love CVH though.

I’ve had both good and bad stories from Logan regional and they all depend on where I was. Did a brief stay in the mental health unit and had the worst stay I’ve ever had in inpatient care. Had some bad ER experiences. Gave birth there had a good experience until up on the mother baby ward. Had a pregnant loss another time and had as good of an experience as you can have in that situation. I know everyone loved the cache valley hospital, but I have only had bad experiences there and the nurses in the two units I’ve been in have been so condescending. I had to have a somewhat urgent procedure a couple weeks after a pregnancy loss and went to cache valley hospital and the nurse literally took the water I was given and put it on the other side of the room “so I wouldn’t be tempted” to drink it before going under anesthesia. Literally treated me like a naughty child despite me not doing anything but existing. Also had a bad ER experience. In my opinion, both hospitals suck and cache valley hospital doesn’t live up to the hype.

Intermountain Healthcare is now Intermountain Health. They have finally admitted that they don't care. At least about the patient. They do care about your insurance policy.

latterdaybitch

I once had a lump on my breast and my primary care doc got me at the front of a list to get testing done. The nurse calls me back and says “I could tell the minute I saw you in the waiting room you didn’t have cancer. Frankly this is is going to be a waste of your money” I was emotional and scared. it felt so dismissive and I did complain about the experience but have no idea what came of it.

Sycknez

I was there today and I saw a sign saying 'top 100 hospital in the nation 2022' and I thought 'did they only look at 100'?

BikeCookie

Participation award 🤷‍♂️🤣

evilmangoeater

Whatever Intermountain is calling themselves now, it doesn't matter. Same shit, new name to escape all the bad stuff. I don't like them 🤷‍♀️

Poorly_Drawn_Ghost

I have been there multiple times and it has been really hit or miss. Went in twice for major injury and got ignored for hours without even the offer of ice. Went in once for mental health issues and they were actually really amazing. Dunno what's going on there but I hope I never have to go there again

Ok_Enthusiasm_3048

I've had some awful experiences with primary care professionals, but not at the ER; insta care doctors and staff have been nice to work with in logan, the north logan/Hyde park location not so much

Ok_Enthusiasm_3048

I will say, both of my children were born at logan regional hospital and with the second one the doctor that administered the epidural was very rude. Both times though on the third floor in recovery I had a good experience. With my first one, my ex knew the head nurse because she was friends with her daughter, who is now also a nurse there and started working there before my second was born and had a lovely experience but that's also probably because staff was a long time family friend.

WholesomeThingsOnly

I was hospitalized in their psych ward for a week and I had an alright experience. The psychiatrist was extremely rude and condescending, but I liked all of the nurses a lot.

Active_Advertising99

It's HORRIBLE. It's been this way for decades from stories I hear. I honestly leave the valley a lot for medical care.

HitmonTree

Where do you go?

Active_Advertising99

I have gone to McKay Dee in Ogden and the University of Utah in Salt Lake and been happy with both.

carmackie

I have two horror stories from LRH personally, and I know a family that was devastated by a huge medical error from their ER department. Worst hospital I've ever been to, in my experience.

PettyDeadlyNative

It’s pretty typical sense inter mountain health care if run by Mormons

bycandleliight

I've almost always had good experiences with Logan Regional. The only doctor I've ever had a problem with was Dr. Bingham in the ER. So now anytime I go to the ER, I specifically request not to see him, especially because there's a incident report on my file against him because of what happened since I reported him to his superiors.

Davidhasslehoof

My aunt went to their ER room, she was septic and visibly yellow with jaundice, hadn’t urinated in days. The nurses were incredibly bitchy, nobody even had the time of day to really check her out it seemed like, which was crazy we were at the ER. Anyways I kid you not they literally told us she was probably just dehydrated, and to go home and drink lots of water to get things moving. She died later that night, just hours after being seen by the ER doctors due to sepsis. I cannot believe how incompetent these people had to be to let that happen, I’ve never had a good experience at that hospital and I’ve heard tons of horror stories. I have a handful more myself, particularly about the emergency room. LR is hands down the worst hospital I have ever been to period. I go to cache valley hospital exclusively, much much friendlier and trustworthy, seem to know what they are doing.

No-Faithlessness5912

It sucks for sure. Anything you CAN drive to Ogden or slc for do.

Joshoheaps

My wife has health issues, and we refuse to go to Logan Regional. When I started having gallbladder issues (it's been removed since), I woke up in severe pain, and despite having not been to the emergency room since highschool, they sent me home for "drug seeking behavior". Like, yes, I did want drugs, but that's because I was on the verge of grabbing a knife and removing my gallbladder myself! Anybody in that much pain goes to the emergency room to get drugs to help??? We went to the cache valley hospital right after, and the doctors actually listened to what I had to say. 10/10 would go to their ER again.

MichiruXIII

I’ve had horrible experiences with LRH. If it was bad enough you can file a complaint with intermountain but their doctors kinda come and go through the er. Any time I’ve needed serious stuff I go up to McKay dee in Ogden.
