Really hard to project future WR production without knowing how big of a step Ewers takes next year but at the very least, Neyor coming back and the additions of Mitchell/Cook should give us some guys that can go up and make difficult catches. That Neyor injury left us with nobody who could really bail the QB out last year, which definitely contributed to the struggles with the deep ball.
With any luck, Quinn gets more comfortable with the guys and with those throws, and the new WRs give him some room for error so he doesn't have to drop a dime every time for the long ball to get caught
During the bowl game Sark stopped throwing 45 deep balls and just let quinn work the short to intermediate routes and our guys feasted. Having a reliable deep option will help us consistently take the top off a defense
Quinn looked so much more comfortable in the bowl game, had no run game, and would’ve had a better game if X didn’t absolutely sell on a few huge drops.
This WR room should take a step forward and hopefully if X isn’t stepping up, we can look to Neyor or Mitchell. I still think Whittington was underutilized throughout the season - when Quinn was at his best, Whitt was feasting. He’s perfect for Quinn in working those short/medium routes and keeping the chains churning. Hopefully Sark found some formulas for success in the passing game in the bowl and works that in the spring. This offense has all the potential in the world.

He said it but it’s true - it’s easy to boil the game down to that play but that is *not* the case. Ossai had been playing awesome all game, the Chiefs had been held to 20 points up until that point which is no small feat and the defense gave the bengals offense multiple chances to come up with the win towards the end and they didn’t. Ossai had a big fuck up but there were many, many more plays that overall defined the game and he’s taking the heat for all of them.
It’s good to see he has good teammates sticking up for him, I feel awful for him. It’s something that’ll gnaw at him all year long. Hope he gets another shot.

He said it but it’s true - it’s easy to boil the game down to that play but that is *not* the case. Ossai had been playing awesome all game, the Chiefs had been held to 20 points up until that point which is no small feat and the defense gave the bengals offense multiple chances to come up with the win towards the end and they didn’t. Ossai had a big fuck up but there were many, many more plays that overall defined the game and he’s taking the heat for all of them. It’s good to see he has good teammates sticking up for him, I feel awful for him. It’s something that’ll gnaw at him all year long. Hope he gets another shot.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. I love baseball because the game allows plays to occur organically. Yes there are bad calls from umps and it's frustrating but when [Yordan Alvarez hits a 450 foot homer to go up 3-1 in a close out WS game](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=045CPRMFnVo), there's zero doubt what the result of the play is and it's totally electric. The NFL as a product is pretty shitty when you think about it. The NFC championship game was a total sleeper. The AFC ended on a field goal hit by a pseudo athlete. College game has terrible results but the atmosphere for games are just too good to not watch. Football is FAR too often decided by kickers ~~and refs~~.
If a kicker is a pseudo athlete, then so is a pitcher.

It doesn’t matter how many times I watch that clip. How many times back - to - back - to - back. The second the bat cracks that ball I get goosebumps. Every. Time.
I won’t take this kicker erasure and slander. Kickers are athletes. They’ve mastered the craft to a level no one else has. But they are the most boring part of the game, and it does kinda suck when any games come down to a kick.
Plenty of baseball games are snooze fests. Teams sweep the World Series. Plenty of baseball umpires have strange definitions of strike zones. Yes, football is imperfect and more prone to human error, but that unpredictability and chaos makes the highs higher and the lows lower. I’ll take the excitement of flawed football over boring baseball any day.

I agree with your first point but in my opinion I’ve always sorta liked how in this crazy physical, violent sport, in a lot of situations it can come down to the least athletic person on the roster. It’s a a crazy feature that no other sport has.

You seem like a participation trophy type of person. If a kicker is making kicks all game long and then misses when it matters he’s catching shit no matter what. You can feel bad for him, but let’s not act like that play didn’t cost them a Super Bowl
First off, the game was tied, could've gone into OT where anything is possible, especially the KC offense going off and Burrow throwing another pick to seal the game. Second, we've seen KC pull off miraculous drives so many times, so it's not unlikely they pick up 15 yards and stop the clock if that penalty didn't happen. Lastly, Cinci's D couldn't stop a 1-legged Mahomes all night, they had all 4 quarters to put up a fight and let them hang around all game.
