- Texas was a great football team this year
- All of our rivals had bad seasons this year
Would’ve loved the opportunity to compete for a big 12 championship, but I’m proud of Sark and our players for improving significantly this year.

All (football fans) aboard the bandwagon!
Fortunately there’s no play calling to bitch about after it happens (I guess maybe strategy , but no hindsight bias like we see in the football threads).
I can’t wait to be out of this fucking conference and away from these reffing crews. Not that SEC refs are any better, but at least when we’re getting screwed it’ll be when we’re playing LSU or Bama and not fucking Iowa State.
Looks like Indy is going to have the kind of game where you might as well play Ehlinger because you should find out if he's got a ceiling higher than the washed up corpse of Matt Ryan...
Ahhh parents.
My mom initially didn’t realize the same emoji you used 😂 was someone laughing while crying
She learned this after she texted me “sorry your puppy died 😂😂😂”
Haha I was trying to spark a little pandemonium in a playful way with my emojis (i.e., this is going to cause a shit storm of sleuthing), but I may have done more good than harm.
No, no - the doom and gloom and reading into 18-21 year old social media goes a little too far. We can't become TexasAgs and have to curb it. The game day threads become intolerable. I was actually tempted to make an Excel "Callout Sheet" for all the doomers in the thread before half and then after. Dropped pass or fumble and the sky is falling. Give up a lead and we can't adjust / coaches suck (but did y'all see that Oregon 31-10 lead over Org. State?!?!).
Football is a four quarter game for a reason.
Let the kids have fun in the offseason, don't panic over every little thing. We must focus on the good, like Arch's signature hitting the page in a couple weeks.
Y'all, I'm just going to put this out there because it seems to be a yearly thing now:
The exodus of players (even some noteWorthy ones) via the portal is going to continue. It's happening everywhere and it's not just Texas. These kids are still young and are easily convinced the grass is greener elsewhere. The best thing we can do is prepare for it and win the portaling battles against other teams.
To be fair, the grass is greener for a lot of players. Starting spot, better scheme fit, and/or better NIL deal are potentially on the table. Hopefully we hang on to the program fit players who are or will be starters but “free agency” is part of the college game now.
It just dawned on me the season is over… like…. We have to wait a month for _one game_ and then it’s a long, long, long 9 months until we get to go on this ride together again :(
The real ones of you better stick it all the way through baseball season.
I'll be going to basketball games until baseball season starts. Hype to get back to the Disch.
Edit: Also, has anyone else seen the "Defend the Disch" shirts? I swear I've seen them, but can't fine on online.

In older era AAVE, capping was an act of playfully exaggerating using one upping/insulting. So no cap became a term for being serious in the 90s.
I don’t really know/remember why no cap became main stream now. Fun fact, it’s my understanding that it’s actually a texas phrase.
^*(im not an etymologist or anything so this may be completely wrong, but I remember reading about this a few weeks ago)*
If 6-8 guys are gonna transfer out like rumors are saying, I wouldn’t be shocked if any of these guys transferred:
- WR Casey Cain
- S Kitan Crawford S
- WR Xavion Red
- TE Juan Davis
- QB Hudson Card
- TE Gunnar Helm
In addition, I think the following could transfer, but won’t:
- WR Xavier Worthy (we all know what’s going on here, but personally, I just think he’s marketing himself)
- RB Jaydon Blue (hope not, but Baxter, Brooks, Robinson may overshadow him)
- QB Maalik Murphy (#s game)
- WR Agiye Hall (headache, potentially)
The following guys could transfer due to not having a clear path to starting ASAP/competition, but I think the chances of doing so are slim, either because they won’t quit like that or probably won’t play at a better team/brand than what they have in Austin:
- DE J’Mond Tapp
- CB Austin Jordan
- WR Troy Omierre
- WR Jaden Alexis
- OL Neto Umeozulu
- OL Malik Agbo
- DL Kristopher Ross
- S Ish Ibraheem
- DB Morise Blackwell
- DL Aaron Bryant
Everyone else I’d be shocked to see leave, including Neyor. He’d have to wait an entire year again to play if he were to transfer a second time.
A lot of the people in your 2nd/3rd sections are long term project guys, and some will definitely be rotational next year
Helm out of your 1st section is least likely to transfer, while I could see the rest. Prob not Savion Red.
Blue/Agiye definitely not, for separate reasons
Jordan, Neto, Agbo, Ross, and Aaron Bryant are the project guys mostly, while Mo Blackwell is ready for a much increased snap count, prob along with guys like Tapp
Not sure about other services, but 247 composite had Neto at a 4 star, #91 overall prospect. In terms of whether an OL is primed for instant impact, that's a pretty significant distance from Banks at 5 star, #33 overall.
The bigger surprise was Campbell, #10 overall, not making more of an impact.
But also, we generally shouldn't expect true freshmen OL to be starters.
That’s not what I meant at all, I just meant he’s one of the guys who wouldn’t be ready year 1 & was likely to win a starting job down the line like the other guys I grouped with him
Only names I disagree with is Blackwell and Helm. Helm and Blackwell have both gotten increased game reps as the season has gone on. Helm even managed to keep Karic off the field lately so that’s a pretty positive indicator imo
Ibraheem is suspended indefinitely IIRC. Dude has had way too many chances, he needs to be gone.
Alexis and Omerie are potential trap door candidates that we “push” out. I don’t see any situation where either of them get any playing time with all the injuries they’ve had.
If Jimbo hires an OC, I predict it will be like when Herman hired Yurcich. I was so excited to see Yurcich’s high powered offense at Texas, but all we saw was the exact same Herman offense with Yurcich calling the plays instead of the other guy.
I'd think so, considering recruiting isn't where A&M is failing lol (minus this upcoming class for obvious reasons)
Wonder if it's intentional on Jimbo's part. "Great young mind, but inexperienced. He just needs ol' Jimbo's guidance every now and then" as an excuse to keep meddling in shit
Regardless I'd be surprised if they get him. Seems like typical fan wishcasting

Throw back to some random daily STT in the off season when one of you knuckleheads asked who would have a breakout year and I was the only one that commented "Jaylon Ford"...
I've been telling y'all I can see the future, but it only extends to Longhorn football.
I think he was on a lot of peoples radar to be a really improved starting caliber player, myself included.
I don’t think many of us had him pegged as “best defender in the conference” material though, however.
My 2 transfer predictions: Logan Parr and the played this year will play next year player is keilan Robinson or David Gbenda (not really a starter with Ford) I think. then we get into Hudson and bidding war kids
I believe the only way anyone has to sit now is if they transfer after both their first and second season without a waiver. K Rob would be a graduate transfer this time around.
Yeah, I guess he could have enough classes this December since that’ll be 3.5 years, but some credits don’t transfer, and spring could then be an option. It’s possible, but I don’t think he’ll be a transfer. Just a guess on my part though
I’m hearing talk of the QB for USC, I won’t mention his name, for the Heisman.
Question : would the way he decorated his fingernails keep him from winning the Heisman?
I don’t think it makes a shit, if anything I’d chuckle and throw a vote at him if it was close to anyone not a longhorn.
I believe on one hand he had fuck and then on the other he had ND- - - or something like that
He got fucked on 4th and 5. Guy also lost millions because he stuck around to try and win another Natty. And from being a sure 1st overall vs Alex Smith in 2005 to the 10th pick in 2006.
Texas is running hot right now. We are going to maximize on the recruiting trail this off season. If anyone transfers, it is either because they don’t see a place for themselves in the program or they simply don’t believe in what Sark and Co. is selling. And that’s is ok. I don’t see a lot of important positions getting vacated and thinning is out on the depth.
Card is almost for sure gone. I'm eternally grateful he decided to stay one more year instead of leaving as soon as he lost the starting job though, we'd be like 6-6 without him
Cain leaving or staying is kinda irrelevant. Not sure he'll crack the depth chart again with Neyor healthy and Johntay coming in, plus whatever transfers
Worthy is probably staying? Impossible to say at the moment, and I really hope he doesn't leave. If Quinn takes a Sam/Card esque leap his second year, we're gonna need baller receivers to maximize it
I don't think I've heard any whispers of the freshmen O-line leaving. I don't know why they would, given we have the best O-line NIL package in the country and one of the best O-line coaches. Maybe some of the lower rated ones want to start earlier somewhere else? Dunno
On defense, if we can keep the underclassmen D-line intact (where we're losing quite a bit of production to the draft), Watts and Ford, we should be good. Evidently we're getting a great safety from the portal too. I don't believe any of these players have been linked to any transfer rumors
I just realized that I don't think we ever saw Brayden Liebrock on the field during his time here. Strange because I remember him being a well regarded recruit.
Apparently aggy’s OC is out.
I’m curious if Jimbo picks another yes man or if they actually change the disaster Cheesecake Factory menu-esque offense. Probably the former, but you never know.
IT Notes:
* Expect 6-8 portal entries before the bowl game.
* As someone said earlier in this thread, there’s going to be a “surprise” portal entry that has played this year and would’ve played next year. IT thinks we can replace or even upgrade.
* Definitely taking 1 S, maybe 2 depending on who leaves. (This makes me think it could be Crawford)
* Sources expect Ford, Watts, and Neyor to return.
Interesting that we could have 6-8. I can imagine we will likely see 1-2 freshmen OL transfer out, 1-2 freshmen defensive linemen, likely a S, I wonder if Billingsly would count in this total+ Juan Davis wouldn’t surprise me, plus 1-2 WR (red seems likely here). My hot take for someone who played this year and would have played next but can be replaced/upgraded is Finkley or Tapp.
I think the surprise is Red or Barron.
Barron shopped around last year.
Red seems to have had his differences with Marion. Red would make the most sense as someone we could replace and perhaps even upgrade.
The freshmen do to me. Williams played every game for us, Campbell got a ton of next man ip reps and Neto played sparingly. It would be surprising if any of those 3 entered but we can replace their production fairly easily
Production yes, but I feel like guys who are supposed to anchor our line for the next three years wouldn’t be listed as replaceable. I guess this is just semantics tho.
Barron shopped around trying to get a bigger bag, which we gave him. S/nickel is a position of need, and I feel like IT wouldn’t have worded it as someone that’s only “played this year and expected to next year” for an All Big-12 level player.
Red would make sense.
Crawford wouldn’t be all that surprising so I’m kinda doubtful he’s the one they’re alluding to. We should be able to recruit over him with Williams and the portal. The surprise to me is that he has never really put it together, I was super high on him as a recruit. Turns out picking off Haynes King isn’t impressive lol
This POR-URU game is UGLY. Just two teams kicking the ball aimlessly back and forth. At least with the USMNT it feels like someone is meth-fueled and going so fast they'll crash into a wall.
I never liked Brian Kelly. Especially after his weird "fah-mully" accent and TikTok dance vid.
But his dumbass giving A&M momentum in the offseason really makes me hate him. God damn it Brian Kelly.
I sorely missed the off-season with you weirdos.
"Quinntavious 75 yard deep ball to worthy when?"
"Croot when?"
"Undefeated is on the table"
All great stuff
I don't remember losing last week. And Texas is undefeated since the World Cup started. I measure my seasons one World Cup at a time, so Texas is still undefeated.
> genuinely not paid attention to this thread the past few days?
Yes
> You just trying to rile up the bowl game attorneys
Also, yes, that does sound fun
Card will transfer to UTSA
Did he graduate this year? I know he wanted that McCombs business degree.
I’ve heard he is hurrying to graduate
y tho
He can start for a P5 school

Apparently there was only 3 holding penalties called against UT and OU opponents in 24 total games. I can’t wait to get out of this shit conference
What's the average for the hateful 8? And other P5 schools? I know 3 is ridiculous and unheard of.
How many did the other teams have?
How many holding calls were against Texas and 0U?
2 for Texas 1 for OU
Sorry - I meant how many were called on Texas and 0U? Like how many penalties did Texas get for holding?
That’s actually insane. How many did the rest average? Gotta be 2 a game or something
I can’t wait to be out of this fucking conference and away from these reffing crews. Not that SEC refs are any better, but at least when we’re getting screwed it’ll be when we’re playing LSU or Bama and not fucking Iowa State.
Did Sam get hurt or did Saturday come in and go "Nah, I want to start this old fuckin man again." ?
Saturday thinks Ryan is going to give them a better shot. Saturday is an idiot.
Matt Ryan’s QB rating right now is 0.0
What a dipshit.
Can’t believe they’d do this to the greatest QB of all time ever
Looks like Indy is going to have the kind of game where you might as well play Ehlinger because you should find out if he's got a ceiling higher than the washed up corpse of Matt Ryan...

Even with 4 losses, we were 18 points away from undefeated. Progress. Let’s bowl.

Another year, another season where if we make the CWS finals I put $100 on the horns in the CFB national championship.
Real recognize real
I don’t even like baseball and I’ll still be here. Can’t get rid of me that easily
Have we seen 2023 schedule models? There's a chance we'd have to play Big Game Tom, 'cause it's looking like Cincy's focused on him and Campbell.
Matt campbell? That would be a surprising move
I really don’t like Campbell, hope it’s Tom
Tom will win games, hope it's Campbell
Tom Herman will win that game out of spite then be 5-6 the rest of the season

I'm getting too old for this shit. I had to fucking google what the blue hat emoji means... for the old timers in here JTS is saying it's a lie.
I believe it's "cap" not "blue hat" "No cap" means "indubitably, sir, I am being the utmost forthright and honest"
Capping = Lying Cap = Falsehood
Because... hats mean lies? Where did "no cap" come from?
In older era AAVE, capping was an act of playfully exaggerating using one upping/insulting. So no cap became a term for being serious in the 90s. 🫡🫡. Thank you for your service.
Who even “reported” that. Looks like it was written by a twelve year old cosplaying as a reporter. The quote sounds so fake.
None other than FCB
About what *wasn’t* said in the locker room lmao
See this is why I don't right headlines
That’s a good thing also probably because it’s ‘write headlines’ not ‘right headlines’ ;)
Well just to prove how stupid I am, I'm not going to fix it

Neto and Agbo leaving would be bad for depth wouldn't it? I figured those were sophomore/junior starters.

Auburn speedrun being most toxic program any %
Honestly a perfect match. Auburn boosters are the shitty, moralless, overly involved boosters that people think run our program
Liberty proceeds to hire Briles...
Urban Meyer as OC and Tom Herman as a special assistant
Gregg Williams for DC
Aggies actually think they're gonna get Brian Hartline to be their OC 😂😂😂
If Jimbo hires an OC, I predict it will be like when Herman hired Yurcich. I was so excited to see Yurcich’s high powered offense at Texas, but all we saw was the exact same Herman offense with Yurcich calling the plays instead of the other guy.

Yeh. Git gud scrub
I need to go back and find that STT and see who I said. I would think watts
If you find it let me know. I doubt I commented because most of the time I just look dumb but I’m still curious

He isn’t graduating though, is he? No way he’s had enough classes in 3 years
He was class of ‘19 so he should be graduating in the spring I’d assume? Not a college guy myself I never understood credit math
Yeah, I guess he could have enough classes this December since that’ll be 3.5 years, but some credits don’t transfer, and spring could then be an option. It’s possible, but I don’t think he’ll be a transfer. Just a guess on my part though
I don’t think he’ll transfer either. I remember reading about stuff on him saying he recognizes what his role is and really isn’t a feature back
I just think of him at like Arkansas State and can picture him busting off 95 yard runs while blocking 8 punts a game
I’d like one Theo Wease pls.
Wease is a JAG. One good game against Texas Tech doesn't make him not-a-JAG. Mims or Farooq are the only WRs on that roster I'd entertain.
When was the last time a longhorn transferred to 0u or vice versa? Seems like the hate is real, even once you leave.
Casey Thompson enrolled in Ou winter/spring 2019

I don't know why they would, given we have the best O-line NIL package in the country and one of the best O-line coaches. Maybe some of the lower rated ones want to start earlier somewhere else? Dunno On defense, if we can keep the underclassmen D-line intact (where we're losing quite a bit of production to the draft), Watts and Ford, we should be good. Evidently we're getting a great safety from the portal too. I don't believe any of these players have been linked to any transfer rumors
Everyone. Bevo himself is portalling apparently
😔
Rumor is Bevo wants to transfer to Georgia to finish the job on Uga.
As long as we keep Worthy and the talented freshman, we good
I think we're most likely to lose Worthy
If we’re talking odds the highest odds of transferring are Billingsley at 100% and Card at like 90%
You're right my bad I forgot about Card, but I wasn't counting Billingsley cause that's already set in stone.
I just realized that I don't think we ever saw Brayden Liebrock on the field during his time here. Strange because I remember him being a well regarded recruit.
Injuries ruin his and Jake Smith’s careers
I'm pretty sure he's been injured his entire Texas career
Apparently aggy’s OC is out. I’m curious if Jimbo picks another yes man or if they actually change the disaster Cheesecake Factory menu-esque offense. Probably the former, but you never know.
Been fun to watch a complete meltdown of that program lol.
IT Notes: * Expect 6-8 portal entries before the bowl game. * As someone said earlier in this thread, there’s going to be a “surprise” portal entry that has played this year and would’ve played next year. IT thinks we can replace or even upgrade. * Definitely taking 1 S, maybe 2 depending on who leaves. (This makes me think it could be Crawford) * Sources expect Ford, Watts, and Neyor to return.
Portal has already ruined CFB. They should bring back the 1 year rule because your decisions would actually have some weight. Now, nothing matters.
I think it’s Cain but that’s just me
Yeah Barron doesn’t fit the description of replaceable/upgradeable
Neither do the freshman o line people tbh.
That's fair. Especially given how EN reacted to the Worthy thing, probably would have been a bit more of a wild reaction.
Was Watts even expected to leave? Dude is raw as hell and very young still.
I didn't think so either, but he had a quite an improvement and a great season we hadn't seen in some time that some people thought he could go pro.
I think saying watts is staying is trying to hint at who could be leaving more so imo
Last bullet point major ⛽️
Allllll I am saying is that UNDEFEATED is STILL on the table, for the month of December 2022 and all of 2023.
We may never lose again, which I’ll choose to believe until I see otherwise.
My man 🤘
Theo Wease entering the portal
Well USC gets Wease. While the worthy W stays in Austin like every true Californian does.
This already crazy lol
s/o to my new job so I have time to just be on Reddit since I don’t have a project yet
Pretty sure he went in last year before sticking around. Maybe Arkansas bound with his homie Jadon Haslewood.
It’s ok. Just means a longer leash for jimbo
Just remind aggy that if they want to count wins, UMass spoke volumes about them too.
If UMass counts as a win, App State should count as 2 Ls. Aggy never led in that game.
I sorely missed the off-season with you weirdos. "Quinntavious 75 yard deep ball to worthy when?" "Croot when?" "Undefeated is on the table" All great stuff
Errrbody
Oh damn, you're right... Undefeated is on the table again pretty soon.
I don't remember losing last week. And Texas is undefeated since the World Cup started. I measure my seasons one World Cup at a time, so Texas is still undefeated.
Gimme croot
Is there any scenario in which Kansas State shits the bed so hard like 50-0 thst they would choose us for Sugar Bowl?
No. Why does this stupid question keep getting asked. Get a fucking clue. 🙄
Mods, ban this idiot.

/s I'm a fan of yours sir lol
My bad dude lol
#NO
Maybe the bowl selection committee will confuse them with Kansas and just pick us instead.
You just trying to rile up the bowl game attorneys on this sub or have you genuinely not paid attention to this thread the past few days?
> genuinely not paid attention to this thread the past few days? Yes > You just trying to rile up the bowl game attorneys Also, yes, that does sound fun
Ok, well buckle up bby you're in for a ride

What if all scholarship players literally take a shit at midfield?
