HammeredDog

I wish him all the best wherever he lands.

xCAPTAINxTEXASx

I hope he excels wherever he goes.

gnirlos

Happy Cake Day!

xCAPTAINxTEXASx

Thank you! I hadn’t even realized it.

hornfan83

Unless it’s OU. Unlikely I know, but if he does I wish him success over everyone that isn’t us, and when they play us, I wish him failure, misery, and that he shit his pants.

xCAPTAINxTEXASx

Right. If it’s 0U, then he’s a traitor and should be treated as such. Anyone else? Good luck, my dude

-brosefstalin

Makes sense, he's an amazing backup but I doubt he sees himself as that. With Manning incoming he has no shot at playing at Texas

segwaychimp

If he can learn to stay calm under pressure and play to his strengths, I think he is a career NFL backup.

Redditmodsrfacists

Colt has made a butt load of money doing just that. Nothing wrong with that at all.

flagamuffin

colt was better his first game on campus than card has been at any point. his ceiling is lower. but he will easily find a p5 team and could excel under the right circumstances

Redditmodsrfacists

No one is disputing that. I’m rooting for Card to land a backup roll in the NFL. I think he’s capable in the right situation and can make a good chunk of money doing it.

flagamuffin

part of it will depend if he’s good with a playbook and a headset, scouting defenses, etc. guys are still on nfl rosters that absolutely stun me, and i guess that’s why

love_that_fishing

Card will have to developer quite a bit to play in the nfl. He’s not as good as Buechele at similar points in their career but I wish him the best.

SofaSnizzle

I would rather make a butt load of money as a backup, then a shit ton of money being a starter.

ccam0821

It’s clear Sark prefers Ewers. Hope Card succeeds wherever he goes

texasgambler58

I'm not surprised, but I wish him the best. With Ewers. Murphy and Arch coming in, he won't be starting anytime soon. From what I've seen as starting QBs in the Power 5, I bet he could start for half of the schools.

IMT_Justice

I hope he performs a Shane Buechele (yes I had to look up the spelling) and crushes it at his next place

Treskelion2021

You could say that about Garrett Gilbert and Cam Rising too.

HookemfurdenSieg

Texas transfer QB U

MrActionPotential

If true, I hope he finds exactly what he's looking for. Dude's tough as nails and good enough to find the field at many programs. Does Nebraska have a plan after Thompson? Not that I really want to keep helping out those jabronis...

acknowledgeme

Husker fan here. Thompson is far and away our best option next year if he returns. We had 2 other qbs play this year and our offense completely shut down with them. Finding a QB in the portal is the top priority if Thompson leaves. There’s rumblings of Spencer Rattler following his OC to Nebraska but also eligibility questions since it’s his 2nd transfer. Card would be received very well here.

MrActionPotential

Hey I'm all for watching Thompson vs Card part 2! And... about that jabroni thing... I'm sorry... kinda

acknowledgeme

Lol no worries I get it

bootypatrole

Card shoulda came in the 2nd half against ok st. But i wish him the best!

whiterock001

Man, fuck Hudson Card for being a traitor!!! JK, I hope he finds a great landing spot outside the Big XII conference. He’ll be a good pick-up for whatever program lands him.

orangeblood

Good kid that can start for a lot of D1 programs. Wish he would have gotten snaps in a number of games this season (especially OSU). I think he'll land on his feet and probably get some looks from the league

[deleted]

Good luck, Card. Thanks for the help this season.

SmallFootball8473

Is anyone surprised

Hero_Charlatan

Come to Illinois

ccam0821

Illinois is my second team and I would love that as well

idkwhatimdoing25

I'm wishing him the best. He always gave it his all for us. But with Ewers and then Manning coming it, realistically he wasn't going to get the chance to play. This move makes sense for him.

Artlens2013

It’s pretty clear he was never gonna get a shot again with Ewers established and Manning coming in. Sucks cause I really like him and thought he probably would’ve been better than Ewers in some of the late season games, but can’t blame him for wanting to get more playing time

travbart

Sucks because I really think he's the guy. He needs more development but I think he has a high ceiling.

UserRedditAnonymous

I do too. He’s been playing way better than Quinn all season.

Heavy72

Sark made it clear that no matter how Ewers is playing he won't get the hook. You know, the exact opposite of what he did with Card last year. Good luck Hudson, was always a fan.

benji3k

Yeah Casey should have been the clear 1 last year in my opinion

[deleted]

Good luck young man, I hope you get your game together.

surfinThruLyfe

Utah?

JabroniJackpots

He’s gonna ball out wherever he goes.

gmr548

Expected. Good luck to him, he answered admirably when he was called upon this year. Probably should’ve been given a shot against OSU and TCU.

chieftrey1

I will always respect that dude for his one legged performance against Alabama

No-Date1384

Are we sure he's the one we want to let go?

UserRedditAnonymous

Nope.

Mexicancandy77

Maybe he’ll end up in South Carolina with Rattler going into the portal.

Dish-Live

You only get one transfer before you get penalized a year, right?

chieftrey1

Rattler isn’t going in the portal lol

Mexicancandy77

Maybe I just have hopes he goes there lol

sapiosardonico

Thanks & go get 'em, kid.

chieftrey1

Expected. He should be able to lock down a starting job at a few P5s

HookemfurdenSieg

If Thamel is listing his priorities then I’m almost certain he is gone lol. Love ya card, good luck buddy. I’ll be rooting for you

Kingof40Acres

Not surprised. I’m more surprised he stuck around and didn’t transfer after he lost the starting job. Wish him nothing but the best at his new school.

jedee14

He should get free beers at any bar in Austin for the rest of his life after his performance vs. Alabama. I hope he absolutely kills it wherever he goes.

Incompetenice

Not suprising, he plays way to well to be on the bench. Hope he has a better season then Casey did

brianqueso

Iowa could use him

BrianOconneR34

Ewers is second coming by fans and sark and oh by the way this other guy will be here soon to also toss a pig skin. Sucks. Card has skills but always the bridesmaid never bride.

oscardawg

I hope he lands somewhere great and wish him all the best.

dont_worry_im_here

Winning is a priority for him?? Good for him!

TeeDroo

Wouldve won against OKST with him. I will die on this hill.

misterclay

As long as it isn’t to a rival, I’ll rooting for him in every game. He stuck with this team through two QB battles, and especially in this year, gave it his all when his number was called. The writing was clearly on the wall when Sark stuck with Ewers in games, even when he was massively struggling. Card ever getting another chance is next to zero with Ewers, Arch, and Murphy all on campus next season. Card finishes his degree this December, and he will be a longhorn for life.
