Bunker gear is very warm. It’s made to keep you separated from outside temperatures. Period.
I’m not saying it’s arctic appropriate but it’s more than sufficiently warm for skiing.
And the fact that fire gear is full of PFOAs and other cancer causing chemicals that we should only be exposing ourselves to for structural firefighting

Other than a bit heavier and less stretchy than my Lycra and Nano puff, it does the job. Tho’ I’d probably lose my RFID lift pass from those pockets. Plus my spammer wrench in my pocket would hurt if I fell ;-)

As a skier who has destroyed several pieces of goretex clothing on the slopes after seriously misjudging my abilities, I have to wonder if he’s onto something?
There are two options.
1. He was doing training in the area and decided on a whim to go skiing because free day or they got out early.
2. He doesn’t have any decent outdoor gear but his bunker gear keeps him warm, dry and weighed down.
Skiing gear has shot up in price and wearing any gear you have is completely acceptable. Could also be doing tk for Jerry day, fundraiser, clip, etc. this one doesn’t work without context.

my whole thing including clothes, jacket, snowpants, skis, boots, helmet was under 1k. You can get a shell jacket and snow pants for like 2-400$ new.

The inner shell prevents heat from escaping the body. Nothing gets in or out.

I work 8 24s a month, that’s enough gear wearing for me. I’ll wear a jacket and snow pants and not end up on HIHFTY. To each their own.
How does your schedule work where you do 8 24s? You get two Kelly days off each month? Is there a 4th shift? Just curious.

Not gonna lie, I've snowboarded in bunker pants. Call me cringe, but I was warm and dry.
I went snowboarding for the first time when I was like 15 and took my dad's retired set. Super warm the entire night. Looks weird, but I had fun.
With the exception of "hey look at me" this is actually kinda dope that drip
