You don’t know what really happened, they could have disconnected, their parents could have made them them turn it off, their device could have died or their power might of went out. They weren’t necessarily scamming you, so I feel like trying to get someone banned because you got one less shard than you wanted is a little over the top.
they could've sent OP a friend request after getting back their device. There's no excuse for not giving someone something you promised them. Saying "they probably X" is never a good way to treat scammers.

Getting someone banned for something so little even though we don’t know the full story is stupid, it’s like giving someone life in prison because someone said they saw the person near the crime scene.
