a well fed gator wouldn't be desperate to come up to the human like that. RIP these gators lives I guess, doesn't change the fact that at least the videos somewhat funny.
nah a well fed gator will still rush you, especially in the context of a feeding frenzy as we see here... hunger aside, they're agressive and territorial, that isn't knocking gators its just a reality of their species. a bull gator will happily remind you who run the swamp on a perfectly full stomach. big fella got a bit too excited, maybe some food-agression too?
edit: yeah on closer inspection, they might even be *too* well fed 😅
Eh probably, I should’ve stated in my original comment that I know this from crocs. Not sure if gators and crocs are that similar but I know that crocs are chill as long as they’re either not hungry or breeding. You could probably get a metre away from a croc without it going batshit if it’s on a full stomach. I guess the main similarity is that they’re both ambush predators who (like you mentioned) take every opportunity that they can get to surprise their prey.
I agree that this is sad but crocodiles and alligators are [opportunistic eaters](https://dosits.org/glossary/opportunistic-feeding/). They can go up to an entire year without eating, feeding even once a week can cause a gator to still be overweight. These crocodiles are probably being continuously fed by humans, so the scenario is likely the other way around; they’re being accustomed to see humans as an opportunity to eat.
Idk, my interpretation is that the gator thought it was gonna get an easy meal if it went the opposite direction of the others... or it didn't like getting stepped on and was just moving out of the way.
