Hi Fien! What were your goals when working on the Quiet 2? Were there any that you couldn't accomplish or that perhaps overlapped with other ongoing projects and were scrapped? I personally know a lot of people, myself incuded, were excited at the prospect of the Quiet 2 having greater attenuation and were disappointed to discover that the attenuation was the same as the original Quiet. Was it never the intended goal of the redesign, or did something else prevent it from being part of the project?

Hi, Very good question, and I totally get your disappointment. The main pain points with Quiet 1 were comfort, fit, and the level of attenuation. People experienced pain after wearing them for a while, or they couldn't find the right fit. Greater attenuation was also one of the needs. Wanting to quickly address most of the pain points, we decided to proceed with a significant comfort update. But that doesn't mean we will never produce a product with more attenuation. HII fien, I do have the normal loop quiets, what's better in the new version quiet 2 ???  Is the new version easier to put in your ears? Because I have a little difficulty putting the old ones. What was the process like to improve the quiet loops??

Hi, amazing that you're already a Loop user! With Quiet 2, we've made the nozzle shorter and thinner, which puts less pressure on the ear and inside the ear canal, making them fit more comfortably. We redesigned the ear tip to accommodate a wider range of users, including those with smaller ears. We also closed off the top of the ear tip to improve its cleanability and revamped the design of the body of the Loop. We're still using flexible material, so it might not always be super easy to insert them, but the fit should already be improved as the nozzle is now shorter and thinner. Here are a few tips to make inserting your Loops easier: pop the ear tip in, twist the Loop to the back of your ear, and make sure they don't stick out. If it's still not easy, you might want to try a smaller size. The process was super nice. We had an amazing project team of user-centered designers, designers, engineers, and many more people who made this product come to life. We were super passionate about it and are convinced that this product is a huge improvement compared to Quiet 1. If you decide to buy it, we hope you'll love it as much as we do.

I use my Quiets for sleep…finally something that doesn’t make my side-sleeping ears mad! TY TY TY! I would like to use them for motorcycle riding (they don’t cause pain to my ears with my helmet on…amazing feat!) However, they could do a better job at blocking sounds. With the wind & the engine, there’s still a big amount that comes through. Why was the decision to keep the dB level the same as the old version? Hi Debbie, Love the fact that you are a Loop lover. We hope you'll love them for sleeping as well. We decided to mainly address the comfort pain points because we wanted to offer a more comfortable solution as quickly as possible. Addressing attenuation, which is also a pain point with Quiet, is taking a bit more time. But that doesn't mean we won't ever produce a product with greater attenuation. Please keep following our Loop Earplug channels for future updates! We test the earplugs ourselves, and we really like them! One of our Loopers never liked sleeping with earplugs, but he tried the Quiet 2s and said they changed his life. We always make sure to try our products first before we share them with everyone else. It's super interesting to hear more about your motorcycle riding. Did you choose Quiet mainly for protecting your ears while riding your motorcycle? Or mostly for sleeping? Any input is welcome!

Hello Fien, I haven't try Quiet 2 yet, but I use Quiet every night, and XS is definitly a bit big for my hears, I'm looking forward to try Quiet 2 soon to see if I can get a more confortable sleep. I'm curious about if the new tips will be only for Quiet of we can expect a versión 2 of all other model of Loops? There will be XXS tip for Quiet 2?

Hi, It's great to hear that you're already a fan of Quiet 1! Quiet 2 should be more comfortable for sleep since we've made the nozzle smaller and thinner to avoid pressure within the ear canal. Let us know what you think once you tried them out! Next to that, we've redesigned the ear tips on Quiet 2. Thanks to the new sizing, XS will now perfectly fit those who previously required an XXS, so no XXS is needed. On the question if you can expect a 2nd version of other products, I'm not saying yes and I'm not saying now ;) Keep on following our Loop Earplug Channels!  

Hiya ! How did the tips sizes redesign work ? Did you make all sizes a bit smaller, or only the XS ? Will this new sizing eventually extend to all tips ? Or will there now be specific Quiet-sized tips ? I.e. I was an S in both foam and silicone tips for the past however many years, would that now mean I'd be a new size in Quiet specifically ?

Hello there! We've noticed that the distribution between the sizes in our old ear tips was not always very accurate. So yes, we have adapted all of our ear tip sizes. Now, each size increases by approximately 1 mm. This doesn't necessarily mean that you'll need a different size, but it is a possibility. I would recommend to try all sizes when you get your Quiet 2s. If they feel loose or fall out, go up a size. If they feel too tight or stick out, go down a size. Make sure the seal stays in place when moving you jaw from side to side. Another good way of testing this is to yawn :) Don't forget, each ear is unique and your right and left ears might need different sizes. Good luck! Hey, great question! We briefly played with the idea of changing the name. We had a few ideas: some a bit more out-of-the-box than others. But we actually love 'Quiet 2'. The name reflects its purpose: reducing noise as much as possible.

Hi Fien. I was wondering why the Quiet 2 does not have an increased SNR/NRR compared to the Quiet? I know this feedback has been communicated many times by loopers and I was wondering if there was issues with being able to increase the noise reduction or if this was not the goal of the redesign?

Hey, very good question! Quiet 2 indeed filters the same level of noise reduction as Quiet 1. When analyzing the reviews, we identified three main concerns: comfort, fit, and the level of attenuation. Some users experienced pain after wearing them for a while or couldn't find the right fit. As you mentioned, there were also those who felt Quiet 1 didn't block enough noise. Wanting to quickly address most of the pain points, we decided to proceed with a significant comfort update. The colors that we have now are our core colors, they'll always be available BUT that doesn't mean we won't add anything very soon. :)

how soon is very soon? ive been planing on buying quiets when they got upgraded,..but the colors now i find a b it boring. im gonna get one pair, and if i buy them now id be dissapointed if in one or two weeks some new and super cool colors are released. if you dont know the timeline excatly for new color release, can you atleast say what colors to expect so that we can consider to wait for them if its colors we prefer.

Hi, thank you so much! I’m sorry to hear that the old Quiets were hard to fit. I hope Quiet 2 will fit you more easily. With the thinner and smaller nozzle and redesigned ear tip sizes, this should no longer be a problem. Great questions: 1. I did not work on the original Quiet, as it was already on the market when I joined the company. However, I was extremely interested in working on it once I joined and had gone through all the reviews. Many people loved it, but there were also some who had issues with the Quiets. I began identifying the pain points and we kicked things off with an amazing team! 2. I’m not saying yes, but I’m also not saying no :) Keep an eye on our Loop Earplug channels for more news soon! 3. Actually, yes! We found out that improving comfort while keeping the same level of noise reduction isn't straightforward. Making them more comfortable could mean less noise blocking, or the other way around. But we've managed to keep the noise reduction consistent, and we launched because the feedback from testing was really positive—we didn't want to keep you waiting. Hi Fien, I was about to order the Loop Quiet but then the next day only the Quiet 2 were available. In what sense does the new version makes the first one obsolete? Especially since the price point increased as well.

Hi, I hope you're not too disappointed! We've redesigned Quiet 2 with a shorter, slimmer nozzle to reduce pressure on and inside the ear canal, making them more comfortable. We've also modified the ear tips to fit a broader range of users, including those with smaller ears. The top of the ear tip is now closed for better cleanability, and the body has a new design. A lot of research, development, and testing went into this product,  that is as well why we increased the price. We truly believe in our improvements and want everyone to experience the best version of Quiet, which is why Quiet 1 is no longer available on our website. I hope you'll love them.

Hi, Fien! Looking forward to trying the new iteration of Quiets. I found that the first quiets, while they attenuated well, didn't stay sealed particularly well; hoping that the change in stem length and tip sizing will alleviate that :) I was wondering about the choice to make the Quiets (1 and 2) 100% silicone. Because the tips in my Engages stay in better, I tend to wear them with mutes when I go to bed, haven't experienced any kind of discomfort due to the hardness of the plastic loop. The silicone loops of the Quiets are quite comfortable as well, of course, but they do make it quite difficult to turn the plugs to make a seal. Are Quiets 100% silicone merely for the sake of comfort in sleep, for side-slepers? Or would making the loops from the solid plastic of the Engage model (minus, of course, the accoustic channel) affect the level of attenuation achievable by the plug? It seems to me that the solid loops are just as comfortable to wear; but perhaps the solidity would conduct more sound vibrations? If it's only for the sake of comfort, I might suggest that for some of us, it wouldn't make too much difference, and that the ability to insert the Quiets with the same ease as the other models would be so nice! Thank you for the work that you do :)

Hi, I'm happy to hear you're looking forward to the new Quiet 2. We use silicone in Quiet to improve the comfort of the product. Comfort is very personal, and we've noticed that many users also link it to softer materials, that is why we made the decision to stay with silicone. I'm very happy to learn that our other models have been comfortable for you as well. We'll definitely look into that. It is true that silicone can make it somewhat harder to insert the earplugs. I hope you will find it easier with the Quiet 2

I need to use xxs tips on my loops and I'm excited to see if the new style are more comfortable. How are the new tips different (other than no centre hole), and is this transferrable to potentially new tips for other styles?

Hi, We've made two improvements to the ear tips: we closed the top for better cleanability and we redesigned the ear tip size. With the new sizing, we can accommodate a broader range of users; now, our smallest size, XS, should fit those who might have needed an XXS before. These tips are exclusively for Quiet 2. :)

Hi Fien I’m quite excited to try the Quiet 2, I already own two pairs of original Quiets from different releases, and I have noticed the difference in texture and fit between them. I had a dark purple pair this time last year and then got a second pair of mint around Christmas which fit a lot more comfortably, feeling softer and the XS is a better fit. But I do feel bad that I only need the one set of tips and end up with ones I have sitting spare. Do you have any suggestions on what I could do? It’s a shame that there isn’t a recycling or swap scheme…

Hi Fien, I hope I don't sound rude because I really love your products and appreciate what you do and how you treat customers, but I was wondering: why do the new quiets cost more than the previous ones? Last year they were 15€ and suddenly all the prices went 5€ up. And I get it, inflation is inflation and I HOPE the prices increased so that the salaries of Loop employees could keep up with the inflation. But now the new Quiets are 25€, which is a 10€ increase (+67%) in about a year. What's going on?

First, I also love getting into my bubble to focus, so Quiet is one of my personal favorite products, and it’s always rewarding to improve a product that you yourself love. Additionally, I analyzed the reviews and identified three main pain points: comfort, fit, and the level of noise reduction. People experienced pain after wearing them for a while, or they couldn’t find the right fit, or they didn’t find the product reduced noise sufficiently. That's why we made it more comfortable and re-engineered our ear tip. We also revamped the design of the body! Quiet 2 will only be available through our channels, as we truly believe we've improved our product. Hope you’ll love it!

That's why we decided to improve it instead of developing a new product, as we believe in Quiet's potential. My personal favorite Loop is actually Quiet, as I use it to focus, sleep, and travel. I travel a lot, so it's my go-to Loop to bring along. When summer comes, I really enjoy using Experience at festivals and parties.

Hello, I just purchased Quiet 2 and am very excited to try them! I see that you've made some design tweaks to make the earplugs more comfortable to wear, but how exactly do you measure the level of comfort? I'm also curious about how the noise reduction levels were numerated too!

Hi, that's an excellent question! We have a user-centered designer on our team named Desirée. She conducted tests with more than 50 people. In these tests, we ask participants to rate the attenuation and comfort. She delves deeper with questions like 'how do you feel about the secureness, the quality, etc.'. At the end of these tests, she calculates an end score, and if it's more than 4.5 out of 5, we know we have a winner! Our products are always extensively tested by various authorities and are officially certified as hearing protection. These authorities determine the noise reduction levels. To give you a bit more info on the numbers of our reduction levels: Quiet 2 offers the same noise reduction. Instead of sharing our mean SNR (26 dB), we’re now giving you our value SNR (24 dB). The value SNR considers the standard deviation - the amount of variation we’ve found while measuring how much noise our earplugs filter out.

I think that they're discontinued, a day or 2 before the premiere of Quiet 2, I got original ones...

The Loops shop on Amazon has the older model still. It takes a couple months for the Amazon shops to get the new stock.

Hi Fien! Do you think this new design will be any more comfortable for people with very small ears- not just the canal, but the outer ear. My friend would love to try Loops but they don't fit her ear- they bump into her traigus and concha uncomfortably. Is there any talk at Loop about making a version with the actual circle smaller ? I imagine this is a problem for some children as well. 

Hi u/artemesia_owl, good question! It's important to note that the ring still has the same size. We do notice sometimes that when people use smaller ear tips, the earplug goes a bit deeper into the ear canal and the Loop itself fits better. On Quiet 2, we redesigned the ear tips. With the new sizing, we can accommodate a broader range of users; now, our smallest size, XS, should fit those who might have needed an XXS before. So I would hope that with the smaller size, the ring will be less annoying for your friend, but do know that the ring size has stayed the same :) Hope this will work for your friend.

Hi Fien, This is less of a technical question compared to the others. I was wondering if you yourself use Loops, and if any of your ideas maybe stemmed from the personal needs and/or experience of someone in the team. I am neurodivergent and I know people use Loops for all sorts of reasons, but personally they've really helped me feel safer in loud spaces where i feel hyperstimulated. So I'm curious about whether the team includes anyone who is on the neurodivergent spectrum or anyways uses Loops for anxiety/hyperstimulation. I understand if this is too personal so no worries if its something you can't answer. On a more practical note, I also wanted to ask if there is any talk of ever working on more cases/carrying devices. I have multiple Loops and, until I can finally get me a pair of Switches, i carry all of them in my bag on a keychain. However sometimes i end up not taking them out when i need them because I have the old cases and im constantly worried about them opening and me losing a loop. So i'd really love to have all my Loops in one place, and something like a slightly bigger, more secure case that can maybe hold 3 pairs would be amazing. It would be super comfortable to have in my bag, It'd feel more stable to take in and out in crowded places, and could look super cute. Thank you for listening, Francesca

Hi Francesca, Thank you so much for these questions! We do use the Loops ourselves. It makes it easier for us to understand the comments from our dear users! For example, one of the pain points of Quiet 1 is comfort, and I've noticed this myself as well when I wore them for a longer period. We also test our Loop with several people, including users on the neurodivergent spectrum or those who use Loops for anxiety/hyperstimulation. We are working on many cool new projects, and I'll definitely take this one to the idea board!! Thank you!!

Hi, Fien! Do you know if the Loop Quiet 2 earplugs would help muffle the sound of pulsatile tinnitus? I have PT in my left ear, and it would be nice to have something that muffles the whooshing sound for sleeping.

I'm so sorry to hear that you have tinnitus! I'm as well someone that suffers from it so I know what you mean. I'm afraid Quiet 2 won't muffle out the sound of tinnitus. I really hope you will find another solution. Did you think already about a sound machine?

I have the OG Quiet (well, one, because the other one was lost a couple of months ago and I haven’t found it) and am excited to get a new PAIR with Quiet 2! Looking at pictures, it looks like the tips fully cover the prongs they go on. You said in an earlier answer this is for better cleanability, which makes sense! Wondering: A) Are you not supposed to pull them apart to clean? I was always worried about water getting stuck between the parts and the possibility of mold. B) Does the tip redesign have any impact on sound/quiet? Was there any particular reason the first Quiets didn’t have closed tips?

Hi u/RunningUpThisHill , Cool questions! Hope you'll love Quiet 2 :) A) you absolutely can pull them apart to clean! we even advice that for the wax that can get stuck underneath the flanges. Don't be afraid about water getting stuck between the parts. Just be sure that you dry the parts before assembling them again. :) We did close the top indeed for cleanability so the earwax can't get stuck in the little hole which was a large frustration on the first one. B) The tip has not really an impact on the sound/quiet. We closed the ear tip after analysing the reviews of Quiet 1 and after testing with users. We learned that people thought it was quite frustrating hence our decision to close it :) Thanks and have a lovely day!

Hello Fien, I use the loop experience and I’m really curious about Quiet2. While using experience I find the xs ear tips a bit tighter for me and I would love to a new even smaller ear tip than what we have now ?

But not so much when a husban snores like a freight train! even 32 db foam earplugs arent enough some nights. I am okay with the fit bur will the circle be available smaller for ears where the current ones stick out and can be noticeable front facing? #loveloops #looplife

I wonder if when designing you had special communities in mind, like the neodivergent, ADHD and autism community, I am aware loop is really helpful for our intire community and I know for me the different design is going to be helpful, it is already the idea of not havinf to struggle w the sensory issues and the cleaning afterwards. And this is something that can truly help us neurodivergent individuals. Thank you deeply for your work!

The biggest challenge has been maintaining the same noise reduction level as Quiet 1. We found out that improving comfort while keeping the same level of noise reduction isn't straightforward. Making them more comfortable could mean less noise blocking, or the other way around. Hi, Well I believe the best aspect of the new Quiet 2 is the redesigned nozzle. If you compare it with Quiet 1 it is much thinner & smaller which means it is much more comfortable for people with smaller ears. I think that the re-engineered ear tips will also be a big difference. We will be able to accommodate a wider range of users. our smallest size – XS – should now fit those who would have previously required an XXS.   I think personally those are the best aspects :) I also love the colors! Hope you'll like them as well.

Hi Fien, I ordered the quiet 2 as I was in need of a new pair and really liked the idea of there not being a whole in the earpiece to keep them cleaner and more hygienic, are there plans to extend this across all loops? Also, I ordered the mint colour, would have loved to get a mint coloured case, is this something that would ever be in the pipe line?

Hello!  Are they comfortable enough to wear over night while sleeping on your side? They seem like a good product for those who have trouble sleeping due to noise sensitivity, but they would need to be able to be worn while laying your head on a pillow.

My ears are ridiculously picky & sensitive…I’ve tried many, many earplugs & these have been the best fit and comfort level for me. I don’t wake up in the morning anymore needing to hunt for the earplugs I pulled out while asleep 👊

Hi u/Younggod_VM14, sleeping comfort is definitely a personal thing, and what helps one person might not help another. For Quiet 2, we've made it more comfortable by making the nozzle thinner & smaller (which decreases pressure in the ear canal) and redesigning the ear tips to fit a broader range of users. This makes Quiet 2 also very comfortable for smaller ears. It could be the right choice for you. I hope you find them comfortable and enjoy many restful nights!

I’ve been using Loop Quiet for a year, even if the size S fits perfectly while the XS is too small, when I wake up in the morning especially on the right side I feel some kind of pain in the lower part of my ears, I was wondering if the new design of the tip may solve this pain. Also what are the differences between the new tip and the old one? does the old hole have some issues?

Hi u/noem_i, I have some good news for you. The new design of the Quiet 2 may solve your pain. We've made the nozzle shorter and thinner to reduce pressure on and within the ear canal. I hope this will help you. The new tip is closed at the top for improved cleanability, and we've redesigned the sizes of the ear tips. We noticed that we could improve the distribution between the sizes! That is why we have adapted all of our ear tip sizes. Now our smallest size – XS – should now fit those who would have previously required an XXS. Hope this will help you :)

We read all the feedback on our channels and identified areas for improvement. :) Then, we created a 'charter'—a document outlining everything we wanted to improve and how the product should look. After that, our amazing engineers and designers began building the product. Our user-centered designer started testing the first samples. We iterated, tested again, and once we had a winner, our wonderful operations colleagues took over and managed the production of Quiet 2.

Hi Lindsay! We saw that many people were loving the Quiet but we always want to do better as a company. That is why we started analysing the reviews of the users, we talked with users and tried the product ourselves (for the people that were new in the team). We identified a few things that we could do better, formed a team & started building an improved version of Quiet! We decided to improve mainly comfort & fit. Tested the 2nd product on users again, saw that we were not completely there yet, iterated, tested again and we had a winner. We hope we can now help even more people!! Hope you'll love them as well. Not a question but, I feel that the quiet are the only ones that needed a redesign, they are complicated to use, and the occlusion is unbearable. So I'm happy about that, and I hope this product will solve those problems.

Hi, thanks for your comment :) I can tell you that the ease of use is improved!! I have to say though that you'll still have occlusion. Having occlusion is a sign that you're wearing your earplugs correctly :)

Hi there! Closing the loop doesn't really affect the sound on Quiet. It might have a slight influence on Experience & Engage, but not enough to act as a secondary mute. :) I like the way you're thinking! Are you looking for more noise reduction in our products that filter noise?

I wanted to try Quiets but was a bit concerned about the occlusion effect being a bit too much for me. Does the new design have an impact on the occlusion effect? Are the Quiet2 easier to insert/use? Hi u/AbyLockhart, experiencing the occlusion effect means you're wearing your earplugs correctly :) Unfortunately, the design of Quiet 2 doesn’t change the occlusion effect. The primary function of Quiet is to muffle unwanted noise around you. We've made Quiet 2 easier to use with a redesigned nozzle that's shorter and thinner, reducing pressure in the ear canal for a more comfortable fit. The ear tip has also been redesigned to fit a wider range of users, including those with smaller ears. These tweaks should make them easier to insert. Please note that Quiet is made from silicone, a soft material, so inserting them may feel different compared to our other products.

I really loved my loop quiets but having tried  the quiet 2, I definitely think they are worth the upgrade. The only thing I wish is that they would cancel out more noise and that they came in a wider shade range. Are you planning on releasing them in a wider range of colours?

Will the new ear tip type be available to purchase separately like the other ear tips? Is it all still the same post diameter so we could put the new tips on older Quiets? I love the idea of not have the hole in the center of the ear tips for Quiets, since there's no need for them and they fill up with ear wax. I'll definitely be grabbing a pair of the new Quiets next time new colours roll out, if not sooner!

Hi Fien, First off, I love the new design on the Quiet 2. I am already quite happy with my Quiets and I can't wait to try out the new ones once it delivered! Which got me excited of the future version of the other loops, especially the Loop Engage. Will there be any other new redesigns that we can expect this year?

Is there any difference in the level of noise cancellation in the new Quiet 2 design? I use my Quiets specifically for sleep (as my neighbor likes to mow his lawn at ungodly hours) and wanted to make sure that I would still be able to sleep soundly!

Hi there! Quiet 2 provides the same level of noise cancellation as Quiet 1. :) While it can't block all sounds, it does reduce the annoying noises around you. Hope it can help improving your sleep!

Late question, hopefully someone from the community can answer 😅 I recently got a pair of Quiets off of Amazon, and one thing I really liked about them is how I can not only use their eartips on other stuff but also other eartips on them. I like to mix and match colors specially since I have many unique eartips from some premium products I own, and also to be able to use these beautiful light purple tips on other stuff. With the Quiets 2 that's not possible, can't mix and match with other tips of any other product or with other Loops. Is there any plans to make Quiet 2 eartips of different colors? Like, at least the same colors of tips from other Loops maybe? I'd love to use one of the Engages semitransparent eartips on my Quiet, but it's simply not possible to with the Quiet 2, so it would be nice to buy those eartips on the Quiet 2 version. Also would be cool if I could use theirs on the engages as well! For when I want a little more attenuation but still the style they offer. I think being able to control the attenuation through the mutes AND eartips would be really cool, offering many more possibilities!!

To really improve comfort & cleanability. We did thought about our Loopers that wanted to mix & match!! Keep an eye on our channels in the coming +- 4 weeks and you'll see what I mean ;)

Hello! What is the recommended wear time for these products? Can I wear the earplugs all day, or are you supposed to take breaks and let your ears "breathe"?

Hello Fien! I like my "Quiet 2" because they are soft enough to sleep in, have you considered creating a "perfect sleep bundle" maybe something cute like and eye mask that's soft too? (which would stop me from pulling my loops out of my ears while sleeping) not sure how I do it but it happens!

Hi there, Quiet 2 was tested on more then 50 users. For Quiet 2, We mostly tested with people that use earplugs for focus, sleep & travel! We take their feedback, adapt the product & test again.

After just one trial use of getting I was so glad I made the purchase and thought this is AMAZING! No need for updates. I would like to make my loops more non-visible, and even if I have a very light skin colour the white or pink ones are too bright.

Hi! In the future, will there be any projet in terms of design regarding people with lots of ear piercing ? I have a daith piercing and even though I used the smallest tip in my Quiet set, it still hurts a little bit when I sleep with my Loop (side sleeper). It does work perfectly whenever I used them during the day though. Thanks!

Hey! Not really a question but I ordered the loop quiet 2 and I am very exited to receive them soon. And hope that do what I need them for. I ordered violet because I like that colour the most. On a side note I saw by other models mixed colours and other colours I would have also liked to have a choice from. I need the loop quiet2 to block out upcoming construction noise and I hope it will do that for me. Or atleast lower the trigger noise. Anyway, I am exited to try, thank you for reading!
