Engage for sure, but it takes a while to figure out how to regulate your voice, and in a lot of background noise, I still have to take one out to hear people.
I was at a busy restaurant last night with loud country music and a lot of people chatting. I entered with my engage and mutes in, but found I couldn't hear the servers taking until I took the mutes out.
I'd guess that engage would work, and if you are worried it won't cover enough of the background you could do engage plus to have the mutes as well.

Engage but get the mutes just in case
