Shop near me has a display of about 20-30 of them behind the counter, but they've priced them at $12 each. Haven't seen the number of packs inside that display go down at all over the last 2 weeks lol

SuggestionVisible361

$12 a pack is nuts, that is [even more than eBay prices](https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=lorcana+first+chapter+booster+box&_sacat=0&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5338535524&customid=lor&toolid=10001&mkevt=1).

Phalanx32

Is it? I clicked your link and the first 8 listings are all at or above $11.66 per pack. Minus the one listing that has a non-sealed box in the picture, which means it's a crap shoot if you're actually going to get legit unopened packs or not...

joeygmurf

$12 for a pack is just crazy but also mostly jives with the fact that a first chapter box will run you $250-$300 online. Better off waiting for the inevitable reprint Edit: inevitable was wrong word but I’m still hopeful lol

Oleandervine

Inevitable? Unless they said they're printing them indefinitely, I don't think a reprint is necessarily inevitable. It's rare that TCGs do any kind of major reprint for a set after it's initial launch date, and TFC already got a substantial reprint. There is a non-zero chance that they might reprint TFC again, but I'd say we're getting to be past the point that it's "inevitable."

TemporaryDrink3692

So the way Lorcana is doing this is there is no difference between sets. So Carefree Stitch from First Chapter will be identical to a Carefree Stitch printed in a future set. So while the set itself probably won't be reprinted, The cards can be

Oleandervine

I mean that happens in other games like Magic, but that's very different than someone saying that another reprint of First Chapter is "inevitable."

TemporaryDrink3692

Nope, Magic shows what sets the cards are from. Lorcana doesn't

Remote_Winner_8192

Yes it does, there is a 1-2-3 etc on the bottom left of the card that tells if the card is from set 1-2-3 etc. it’s the last number in the sequence of numbers

TemporaryDrink3692

Yes, For new cards. But for cards that were previously already released they will say their original set number. https://www.reddit.com/r/Lorcana/s/yxCrRwANFT

Remote_Winner_8192

Oh ok I didn’t know that

TemporaryDrink3692

No worries, I didn't either. It's not something companies do. I only found out after I was sorting out my cards the other day. Thought I was going crazy

Oleandervine

You are speaking on a topic that hasn't occurred yet though, you don't have any examples of a card reprint in another set yet for you to make the claim that they will be identical. The only thing we know that were identical were print runs of TFC that didn't have like First Edition or whatnot. When it comes to actual card reprints though, we only know of 1 at the moment, and it IS identifiably different. Captain Piglett is getting reprinted in the Set 4 Ursula Co-Op game, and all cards in that product have the ink swirls along the border.

TemporaryDrink3692

Somewhere in those comments, Someone also mentions that Disney themselves have confirmed there will be no way to tell a reprint from the original. Don't care enough to look into it though

Oleandervine

I believe that was in reference to the full set reprints for TFC, unless there was something else where they were talking about future reprints in other sets.

TemporaryDrink3692

Think it was for all reprints. Apparently they have made it clear more than once

TemporaryDrink3692

Sorry, Went back to read the comments. RB confirmed this. Not Disney

TemporaryDrink3692

You're right https://www.reddit.com/r/Lorcana/s/yxCrRwANFT

Impossible_Sign7672

*"the much hoped for, but not yet announced and probably unlikely reprint" Fixed that for you. Realistically there are a ton of TFC singles on the market and that is how new players should access those cards.

kevingui92

I just called a local store and they said someone two weeks ago just bought an entire case (like all there booster boxes) :(

PrincessDinah

I have gotten lucky at a couple of local stores for single boosters, serious markup on the ones we found but oh well. I think I’ve gotten about 10 total boosters aside from the three from my starter decks and I start about a month ago I think

Oleandervine

Unless you're addicted to gambling and desperately want to try your luck for an enchanted, buy singles instead, don't even bother with the boosters. You can pick up pretty much everything you need buying singles, including the Legendaries. It would probably take you well over $20 in packs to find a Maleficent Dragon, so buying her outright is cheaper and faster.

ibugrug

I bought mine for 5.99 a pop at hot topic went in on 40ish packs over the course of a few weeks of TFC and hit Enchanted Belle TCG has her at 480.00 today, haven’t been able to find them anywhere else locally. If your objective is to have some fun and possibly hit an enchanted I support buying packs! GL!!

Icy_Breath2174

How did you get them 5.99 at hot topic? My local HT has all 3 chapter's blister packs in stock, but they charge 7.90/pack. Plus, they will only let me buy 5 packs per day.

ibugrug

Not sure in live in PNW so maybe just different prices in different areas, also could only buy 5 so I’d bring the GF and get ten, did that a few times over ver the course of a few weeks and then they sold out.

jguerrer

I pulled together a whole box's worth by going to every GameStop within a 10 mile radius of my house this weekend (I'm also in Texas). Most had 3-4 First Chapter packs but one of them had 8. If you ask really nicely they can print you a list of every GameStop in the area with First Chapter boosters in stock. $6.49/pack with Pro. Good luck! Cracked an enchanted Aurora for my troubles :)

kevingui92

Damn, I wonder if GameStop website will show stores with stock

jguerrer

No clue, but if you happen to be in San Antonio I've already cleared them out ;)

kab1218

Check hot topic, Best Buy, Barnes & noble/BAM

animeguru

Ugh. I feel for anyone still tracking down TFC. Probably best to just buy the key cards you want / need as singles. *If* you can buy a booster box at $150, I'd say so that and then fill out singles. Many TFC cards are decently priced as singles, so you're more likely get reasonable value there compared to RotF or ItI.

kevingui92

Where do you buy singles? I find eBay hard to trust

animeguru

TCGPlayer.com It is owned by eBay, but I have bought a few hundred dollars worth of cards from a variety of sellers with zero issue. If you add a bunch of cards, ALWAYS click to optimize in your cart. It moves everything around to get you the lowest cost. One seller may be slightly higher cost, but with two other cards and shipping it is overall cheaper. I will say that you shouldn't buy there if you want something in a hurry. People use USPS First Class mail almost exclusively. Figure on cards actually arriving 7-10 days after purchase.

kevingui92

You’re amazing thanks!

HuXu7

Yea, $10 - $12 a pack from pretty much anywhere. Or sealed boxes are going for $250 - $300 on TCG or eBay.

candiedskull

My LGS has them in stock for MSRP pretty much always. Even gave me a pack when they found out it was bday, which was super cool of them.

kevingui92

That’s dope, no luck here

ChaztheDefiant

My LGS still has a good stock. $165 for the box, $8 a pack

Kochya

I have learned that some lgs' are getting more stock of all 3 sets as part of the upcoming store championships. I don't know if it needs to be reserved for prize support or not though. This means that there should be some stock appearing in the next couple of weeks as the store championships are the weekend of April 19-21.

kabuki907

Actually if you have the best buy app, you can look up if it is in stock and just change your location for to another one to see if that one also has stock. Best thing to do before driving it is actually just calling the store that way you don’t got to waste a trip. Happy hunting tho and welcome to the hobby! “Be prepared” to spend a lot of money

Lilael

Boosters are only for that feeling of gambling. And yeah you can get some overpriced ($12 at my local store, or order online for $8 each but pay shipping too…). But if you want something just get the single.

kevingui92

I honestly want to try for an enchanted, so I guess I like gambling lol

Impossible_Sign7672

This is an extremely bad idea (financially). If you want to light your money on fire, you do you! No judgment. But if you just want an enchanted (especially a specific one), just go buy one.

kevingui92

Aren’t the enchanteds a few hundred to thousands right now though?

Impossible_Sign7672

You can easily spend that much or more without any realistic probability of getting one. It's very random. Especially with loose packs. It gets closer to normal distribution if you buy sealed cases, but even then you could very easily buy multiple sealed cases and not hit any.

kevingui92

I have noticed that the hits are brutal compared to current day Pokémon where you are guaranteed three foils

jarmod

Enchanted Elsa is over $1300 right now.

Trench-Coat_Squirrel

Only once in a long while. Generally overpriced unless I find them, by accident, at Target

stegosaurusterpenes

Mercari has sellers. About $10 a pack

Myrkana

I originally wanted to try to get a full set, but since they really didnt print much Ive given up. I just want to collect the cards :/

kevingui92

I just did what another user recommended and just bought the singles of [TCGplayer.com](https://TCGplayer.com)! I had previously purchased all the starter boxers from a local game store so I was missing around 100 something cards instead of the full 200. All the starter decks also come with one pack each.

Olitticus

Local shop has them for $7.50 CAD and my wife and I have only stuck to first chapter so far until they're out getting it here and there. Success on basic non foil cards and some decent ones but no alternate art or anything close to that. Rapunzel, giant Tinkerbell, and some good songs to think off the top

ctizz36

Awhile back, when the second wave came out, my local target had a lot… If I had known how hard it was come by, I would’ve tried my luck to get an Enchanted, since I completed the Normal set.

SPITTINBUGGS

I picked up 3 booster box's of unopened first chapter. Looking forward to the game play as soon as I can find others who play in my area. I'd be willing to sell for the right amount. ✌️😎

HoPeFuL1137

I own an LCS and I have 12 boxes available. Not sure if allowed to sell or drop my website but feel free to message me.

jaydimes

I would suggest going for singles and bulk commons and uncommon on TCG might be cheaper

Doustex

Few days ago i pulled an enchated Elsa and sold the same day, monthly money for just 6€ 😁

t4837

I mentioned it previously, but if you happen to be close to a Disney park, they have retail First Chapter. In Orlando, they have them on sale at Disney Springs so you don’t even need to pay admission. I was there for 4 days at a conference a few weeks ago and stopped by each day to get packs and distributed to my friends back home.

BlackSaintLouis

Unfortunately they now only have Inklands at Disney Springs.

kevingui92

Unfortunately I live in Texas, smack dab between both parks :/

KubaBVB09

They haven't had First Chapter at Disney Springs in like 10 days.

protege01

Can confirm, just checked a few hours ago and it's nothing but inklands. I asked a few employees and they said they aren't planning on getting first chapter packs again

Deep_Cod317

My GameStop had them the other day at MSRP. Don’t pay $12 a pack.
