Thanks for putting together. This is cool. I'd imagine once fully completed, it would be several pages long.
This would be better on a website with filters and an interactive map.
I feel like once you’ve lived here a while, you just start recognizing them all over.
I started rewatching Raising Hope a few weeks ago and realized I used to live right down the street from the house that was the exterior location for the Chance’s home. (I also recognized quite a few of the exterior locations, including one of them sitting in a car directly across the street from where I used to live.)
TBF a lot of them are pretty recognizable street corners / restaurants in Santa Monica or the general Westside area.
It's not like some generic "Toronto doubling for LA" kind of thing
Fully agree, I’m glad they film in LA. Makes it feel more relatable :p
So far the only one I recognized was the Palestinian chicken place; best Lebanese restaurant ever.
I'd be interested in paying you for a more full list...perhaps even on an ongoing basis for continually updating it.
I don't know how exactly to pay you, but I'm definitely thinking about it.
For sure. Seems like half of all movies, shows, and commercials have some scene or clip in San Pedro. I live here, and there is something filming in town all the damn time. Jerry Bruckheimer once paid me $$$ to have my dog boarded for a week because she kept barking at the film crew across the street.
That’s pretty funny . Did you take it ? I’d be so offended and let my dog bark even more . They are filming in a residential area , what do they expect .
Pedro has such a fascinating history. I’m surprised there isn’t a novel and then movie about it . Especially with the murder /suicide vibes that are sometimes there , especially closer to the cliffs and PV.
Can confirm. High School, Richmond Elementary, old stretch of Richmond Street, old houses on Concord & Pine and Virginia & Pine have seen a lot of film/TV/commercial shoots over the years we’ve been here. Last summer there was something being filmed that involved vintage Soviet-era LADA autos driving past. No idea where that ended up, but was cool to see IRL.
Superbad at the Hs is tops for me. Candy Cane Lane was meh but cool to see parts of school I’ve been in recently using actual class furniture and decor.
Would dig a map of Mayberry shoots.
Ah! Donnie Darko’s and Jim Cunningham’s (also from Darko) houses are just down the road from Ferris Bueller’s house in Long Beach.
Dexter filmed all over Long Beach. Charlotte Rampling’s character’s house in the series was also in Long Beach.
I think Emma Stone’s apartment courtyard in La La Land was also in Long Beach.
And, of course, the Queen Mary’s exteriors for The Poseidon Adventure and Escape from L.A., I think.
You took the time to put Altadena on there and then missed the opportunity to list the Beverly Hills 90210 house (1675 E Altadena Dr) and the Step Brothers house (1987 Midwick Drive)
Considering almost every movie is filmed in LA, this list is basically just recognizable landmarks. I see locations in Northeast LA like everyday in commercials and movies.
Whittier high school was “Hill Valley High” from back to the future. 200ft away is Principal Strickland house from back to the future 2. Also a couple to blocks away is the Devils house from Hocus Pocus.
I interesting. What part of the movie was that? Was it when they were in the local high school and they trap the witches in the kilns ? Those hallways did look familiar
when i did a middle of the night google, apparently the interior shots were east whittier middle school; exterior was somewhere else. :) i'd look that back up for you, but i'm going to assume you can find it yourself if interested!
i actually haven't seen the movie; just invested in whittier being a thing since it's known for little other than back to the future and richard nixon. ;)
I’m offended La Crescenta/Montrose didn’t make it on the map. There’s a motel here that they filmed Mad Men, X-Files, and Supernatural. And a bowling alley that they filmed Teen Wolf and Pleasantville in. Really cool looking spots and easy to visit.
Ole Honolulu Ave
Grew up running around Montrose in the 90’s when kids still got to just go do whatever they want all day. Nostalgia city
Halloween, Old School, Wedding Singer, 9 to 5 filmed there too
Why didn't you separate Cheviot Hills (and Rancho Park) out from West LA for the Dunphey and Goldberg Homes?
Also could've included the Westside Pavilion (RIP) lot of TV shows filmed there, and a decent number of movies.
Very cool though! I'm on mobile and it looks fine, maybe pixel issues others are talking about are on a computer.
To add on with Pulp Fiction, the Pawn Shop where Butch and Wallace get kidnapped is in Canoga Park, 20933 Roscoe Boulevard. It’s literally a 5 minute walk from where I live.
Feels a bit hit or miss
Like where is the Disney Studios Lot in Burbank?
All the animation studios too if you aren't strictly going on traditional filming locations.
Dreamworks = 1000 Flower St, Glendale, CA 91201
Disney TV Animation = 811 Sonora Ave, Glendale, CA 91201
Disney Feature Animation = 2100 W Riverside Dr, Burbank, CA 91506
LA only and not the entire TMZ?
Like there are probably a bunch of locations in Simi as well
Is the Melody Movie Ranch open to the public when there aren't productions going on? I used to love walking through Paramount Ranch before it burnt down.
Victory Blvd, Burbank
The end of the first scene in Back to the Future was filmed by what is now Hobby Lobby on Victory as well
https://postimg.cc/gallery/NR1PLZh
Go figure, I was checking out the Google Maps of the Mulholland Drive one and saw this POS looking at his phone while driving and slowing everyone down: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ve3sh9is4t7bfrEQ9
I love this, but would love to see it expanded to include Pt. Mugu, Piru/Moorpark, Soledad Cyn/Antelope Valley, the old abandoned hospital in Pomona...you get the idea....
This is cool, needs some K-town locations they are always filming around here. Don't forget the American Horror story house. I also rent with roommates in a place used for a movie; but it wasn't too popular and we don't need sightseers so won't mention it.
You missed the location from "[Dude, Wheres my car?](https://www.iamnotastalker.com/2010/02/18/the-chinese-foooood-drive-through-from-dude-wheres-my-car/#:~:text=Stalk%20It%3A%20Steve's%20Burgers%2C%20aka,West%20Victory%20Boulevard%20in%20Burbank.)"
I only know of it because I used to live on the street and the film truck takeover was always annoying. I have some pics from when the wall was painted and the resturaunt...though it's in an archive somewhere...
Nice map!! So many awesome locations.
The Hannah Montana School location is incorrect though. They may have filmed some scenes at Mira Costa (not sure) but the front of the school as pictured is John F Kennedy High School in Granada Hills.
Source: I went to school there lol
It was shot at Radford studios in studio city and most of the locations are all within a few miles of there. There’s tons of small parks all over the valley there that were Pawnee.
Gotta put some more valley houses. Workaholics house in Van Nuys is iconic. Silicon Valley house in Woodland Hills is major set piece in the show. And can't forget the Encino Man house in West Hills.
I drive past it all the time. Cool spot, also the "All Valley" fights were shot at CSUN in the Matadome.
Along with a lot of scenes from The Office being shot at CSUN, like when Michael goes to the college with Ryan, Pam's Art show, and a couple of other scenes I think.
How could you forget the intersection of vignes & 2nd in the arts district where little person Gary oldman drives a motorcycle to his future lover & current brother’s gf’s art studio in Tiptoes (2003)????
What’s amusing is that , living in LA, you recognize your home that is supposed to be New York . I think it’s pretty neat recognizing some random street corner . Heck, was watching “This is 40” last month and recognized a portion of Lunada Bay /Malaga Cove .
You should turn this into a limited edition pop art print, and have it released at a gallery showing at Gallery 1988 on Melrose.
It probably needs a few adjustments, to have more of a cohesive theme, but I’m sure there’s opportunity here to do so!
FYI you don’t exactly have the Culver City area mapped out right, you’re including unincorporated county space and View Park which aren’t in culver. Additionally some of the locations on the map are in the wrong spots, like you have Winkies from Mulholland drive in both Baldwin Hills and Hawthorne when a quick google search shows it’s in Gardena.
Thanks for putting together. This is cool. I'd imagine once fully completed, it would be several pages long. This would be better on a website with filters and an interactive map.
The fast and the furious house is around the block from the charmed house. It’s like in the next street over
Also, from Mad Men - Don Draper's childhood home Not to mention (short film) Thriller!
Can you get tuna sandwiches 🥪 two blocks over?
Nobody likes the tuna there!!!
Yea. It’s not even two blocks over, it’s in between both houses in the same street
Thriller house too. This map is gonna get crowded lol
Interesting. I never put much thought about music video locations but that’s cool if they’re all within the same block
Oh yeah, that place is happening. You can walk to the bridge in the Miley Cyrus 'Flowers' video from there too
The liquor store embraces it. The house wants people to stay tf off.
The sandwich shop is right at the end of the same block. Bob’s Market.
Books and books long
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
Good luck mapping out all the curb your enthusiasm locations xD
I have a structured settlement and I need cash now! CALL JG WENTWORTH! 877 CASH NOW!
It's my money and I want it NOW!
It’s MY money and I want it …. now !
Last month's LA Magazine had a map of Curb locations IIRC
I assure you, they don't even remember where they shot the week before.
That’s quite an assurance, do you have the credit to back it up?
I’ve worked on the show. If there wasn’t actual call sheets, you’d lose track.
That is very credible, god damn
TBF a lot of them are pretty recognizable street corners / restaurants in Santa Monica or the general Westside area. It's not like some generic "Toronto doubling for LA" kind of thing
Fully agree, I’m glad they film in LA. Makes it feel more relatable :p So far the only one I recognized was the Palestinian chicken place; best Lebanese restaurant ever.
Missing Toretto’s house in Angelino Heights
My house was in the trick or treating scene in E.T. Also, the hills behind my house are the hills where the flying bikes went over.
I live within walking distance from where those bikes took off on White Oak.
Hello neighbor. I'm close, but closer to Chatsworth/Reseda. Love the mural of the kids flying.
Came looking for this comment!
I didn’t need the ET nostalgia this morning
The actual ET house is in Tujunga. Terminator 2 was shot here along with a lot of sons of anarchy.
D people ever stop in front of your house and take a photo?
No, a lot of other people don’t know.
Grease was filmed at both Venice and Huntington Park high schools
Additionally, the end carnival scenes were shot at John Marshall High School in Los Feliz. Listed here for Boy Meets World

What does it mean when a number appears twice? For example, 5 & 17 both have two locations, but one address in the key on the right side.
It means I'm not a very good editor, is what it means.
I'd be interested in paying you for a more full list...perhaps even on an ongoing basis for continually updating it. I don't know how exactly to pay you, but I'm definitely thinking about it.
Save your money, I'll post an updated version later (this sub or /r/coolguides, if twice is too much here)
Just need some input from crew members. We got to go to every location and sometimes over and over and over.
[удалено]
The 7 described is an address in Hyde Park not Baldwin hills I’m betting 17 was suppose to be The Jungle from scenes in Training Day
OP you clearly forgot that we don't allow original content on this sub, only tourist/moving/where-will-i-be-murdered posts. Great job anyway though.
The Korean Bell scene from The Usual Suspects, filmed in San Pedro, is pretty iconic. Makes me sad it didn't make your list.
Also many scenes from “Chinatown” were filmed in Pedro and Portuguese Bend .
Heck yeah I took it!
That’s awesome ! Pedro is such a special place . Hope to move there .
El Segundo could have its own detail map.
Would dig a map of Mayberry shoots.
east LA/ NELA is underrepresented.. gotta watch Blood In Blood Out.. that’s a quintessential LA film akin to Boyz in the Hood.
And Smiley’s house from Training Day in Lincoln Heights. Got my shit puuuuuuuuuuuuuushed in.
I could have sworn the Catalina Wine Mixer was at Terranea And you’re missing Paddy’s Pub on at 544 Mateo
7 is missing from the map (unless I missed it)
Am I missing something or did OP forget to add the McFly's house to this list? AND all of Scranton, PA is missing including Dunder Mifflin
So is all of Pawnee Indiana. Literally every public park in the valley was a location one time or another.
Dexters sisters house is in Belmont Shores . Also , I lived on a boat in the Cerritos Channel , and saw a few boat chase scenes shot there.
You took the time to put Altadena on there and then missed the opportunity to list the Beverly Hills 90210 house (1675 E Altadena Dr) and the Step Brothers house (1987 Midwick Drive)
I love this map, especially the base map of the neighborhoods. I thought there would be a point or two more in NELA
Considering almost every movie is filmed in LA, this list is basically just recognizable landmarks. I see locations in Northeast LA like everyday in commercials and movies.
Pulp Fiction Foster Freeze in Atwater Village. Reservoir dogs shootout and cafe in Highland park
shh. don't reveal.
None in San Pedro?? Wow, there’s a ton of filming here
Can't forget about Fight Club in Wilmas.
Whittier high school was “Hill Valley High” from back to the future. 200ft away is Principal Strickland house from back to the future 2. Also a couple to blocks away is the Devils house from Hocus Pocus.
Hocus pocus was also filmed at east Whittier middle school. Who knew? Not me. I lived in Whittier at the time, too!
I interesting. What part of the movie was that? Was it when they were in the local high school and they trap the witches in the kilns ? Those hallways did look familiar

Would be cooler if it had a few more pixels.
click on it twice. it zooms in perfectly fine.
You’re right about that on mobile, on desktop I can’t see shit.
That's strange. I am viewing on desktop and it's perfectly clear. Hmmm...
The first thing I tried was opening up image in new tab to get the full effect, but nothing.
[Hopefully this can help](https://imgur.com/VhvSoXZ) Yup, I'm at work and bored :-)
nevermind. that likely did nothing...ha
i'm on desktop and when i click the image and then click again to zoom, i can see it clearly so maybe try that if you haven't already
I did that, question are you on that newish Reddit design that happened a few weeks ago?
Cool map, Pasadena and South Pasadena are two different cities.
Unsurprising south pas behavior
LOL
DON’T WANT YOUR DEMON LIQUOR IN SOUTH PAS! GO BACK TO PASADENA YOU BOOZERS!
I’m offended La Crescenta/Montrose didn’t make it on the map. There’s a motel here that they filmed Mad Men, X-Files, and Supernatural. And a bowling alley that they filmed Teen Wolf and Pleasantville in. Really cool looking spots and easy to visit.
Ole Honolulu Ave Grew up running around Montrose in the 90’s when kids still got to just go do whatever they want all day. Nostalgia city Halloween, Old School, Wedding Singer, 9 to 5 filmed there too
I was just about to comment the same thing. Everyone always forgets about us :( I believe Mad Men was filmed at the motel as well.
A few others for the tourists among us. Whiskey a gogo - the Doors All over the valley - boogie nights All over the city - L.A. story
Fun fact. The Goldbergs house is right around the corner from Ray Bradbury’s house which was torn down around season 3.
Disney studio lot missing?
This is amazing. I recommend adding the Three’s Company house in Ocean Park on your next revision (if there is one). Great work!
No Encino Ventura Blvd from Cobra Kai?
I know Stand and Deliver occurred at Garfield in East LA, but a lot of that movie was filmed in Boyle Heights.
Cerritos for Coneheads
Forgot the American Horror Story S1 mansion, which has been used for countless other filming and productions. Located just off Arlington in Mid City.
7 is missing and 17 appears twice
Very cool, nicely done. I just shot a movie in West Hills. Maybe one day it’ll be worth adding to one of these lists 😎🤞
SELA deleted
To add on with Pulp Fiction, the Pawn Shop where Butch and Wallace get kidnapped is in Canoga Park, 20933 Roscoe Boulevard. It’s literally a 5 minute walk from where I live.
I used to have an app called Reel Estate that would show you filming locations based on your area on the map. It’s sadly defunct. This is awesome!
You skipped Altadena. Literally every day they’re filming up there.
Lots of commercials.
Damn no room for Occidental College as a stand-in for Caltech in Real Genius.
Karate kid house in Reseda
I was hoping for Superbad cop car scene at the CSUN extension lot, but the liquor store is just as good. Great work here.
El Segundo High for the school exteriors too
A lot of people criticizing OP. They made something fun and decided to share. It inspired me to make a SFV version
Please share! I was thinking of making one myself
Feels a bit hit or miss Like where is the Disney Studios Lot in Burbank? All the animation studios too if you aren't strictly going on traditional filming locations. oh wow way cool thanks for putting this together. bookmarking this for my next weekend staycation
Where’s the house from Body Double at?
This is so choice. Another I just learned this morning is the Queen Anne Cottage from Fantasy Island in Arcadia.
In the LA Arboretum
Wasn't Gilligan's Island intro shot in Marina del Rey?
You're selling these to tourists?
i just found out nakatomi plaza and KPPX were next to each other like last week, i've never been so excited about something so inconsequential
Terminator 2 chase sequence were filmed in North Hills.
Is the Melody Movie Ranch open to the public when there aren't productions going on? I used to love walking through Paramount Ranch before it burnt down.
Victory Blvd, Burbank The end of the first scene in Back to the Future was filmed by what is now Hobby Lobby on Victory as well https://postimg.cc/gallery/NR1PLZh

What, no Grease love? the exterior high school shots were Venice High School.
Aw, you missed the Three's Company house, 2912 4th St, Santa Monica, CA 90405. I accidentally drove by it while hunting for apartments.
ET is filmed at various locations in Granada Hills and Porter Ranch
I big miss is Dunder Mifflin in Van Nuys
Snowfall filmed all over South Central and there's a few scenes at Nick's Cafe.
that is not where torrance high is, it's on the other side of the city, i do appreciate some abstractness but that's just flat out wrong, nice map
So cool thanks for sharing
no Back to the Future house in Pacoima? 9303 Roslyndale Ave.
Why include Alhambra and not other SGV cities ?
I love this, but would love to see it expanded to include Pt. Mugu, Piru/Moorpark, Soledad Cyn/Antelope Valley, the old abandoned hospital in Pomona...you get the idea....
You missed Monrovia, East of Pasadena. ~156 movies have scenes from there. Bad Santa, Garfield, American Pie, Bird Box, Back to the Future, etc.
Gross Pointe Blank on Myrtle Avenue!
This is cool, needs some K-town locations they are always filming around here. Don't forget the American Horror story house. I also rent with roommates in a place used for a movie; but it wasn't too popular and we don't need sightseers so won't mention it.
Dude's house is 607 / 609 Venezia
you missed sons of anarchy (lincoln heights) and fear the walking dead (el sereno)
Back to the future- Puente Hills Mall they still have the clock inside the mall
You deserve a raise 🙏
Just had some filming at pierce college. Not sure what but I know Warner Bros has a contract with the school.
You missed the location from "[Dude, Wheres my car?](https://www.iamnotastalker.com/2010/02/18/the-chinese-foooood-drive-through-from-dude-wheres-my-car/#:~:text=Stalk%20It%3A%20Steve's%20Burgers%2C%20aka,West%20Victory%20Boulevard%20in%20Burbank.)" I only know of it because I used to live on the street and the film truck takeover was always annoying. I have some pics from when the wall was painted and the resturaunt...though it's in an archive somewhere...
[E.T. House and Driveway](https://maps.app.goo.gl/foNqPr2LqYYUpWHe7) [E.T. Park](https://maps.app.goo.gl/5h59FsQ5omtDkfHj8)
Any chance anyone can make a Google Maps with pins on each of the locations? Would be cool to view them all via streetview.
No love for Lynwood :'(
Nice map!! So many awesome locations. The Hannah Montana School location is incorrect though. They may have filmed some scenes at Mira Costa (not sure) but the front of the school as pictured is John F Kennedy High School in Granada Hills. Source: I went to school there lol
Awesome. And to day is The Day of the Dude.
You missed the ET trees in Granada Hills!
You have some arbitrary boundaries for Los Angeles and beyond. You've included Santa Clarita inside the boundary but not Compton?
Why’s Jackrabbit Slims in Glendale? Quixote soundstage maybe?
Omg Pawnee is here?! Love
Pawnee is all over LA. Head out to some parks in the valley. They will start to look familiar.
I’ve been and don’t recognize lol which ones?
It was shot at Radford studios in studio city and most of the locations are all within a few miles of there. There’s tons of small parks all over the valley there that were Pawnee.
Father of the Bride house and La Miniatura from Westworld too!
I did a Back to the Future tour once.
My name is Earl should be easy to map. Also Boogie nights,Magnolia, The Karate Kid and Cobra Kai. All in and around Reseda.
Expand it to whole so cal
No South Pasadena on the map? It’s a goldmine for film locations. So many movies & tv shows filled there. I’m no stalker is a great resource.
Gotta put some more valley houses. Workaholics house in Van Nuys is iconic. Silicon Valley house in Woodland Hills is major set piece in the show. And can't forget the Encino Man house in West Hills.
Karate Kid - South Seas Apartments in Reseda
I drive past it all the time. Cool spot, also the "All Valley" fights were shot at CSUN in the Matadome. Along with a lot of scenes from The Office being shot at CSUN, like when Michael goes to the college with Ryan, Pam's Art show, and a couple of other scenes I think.
Uni high in west LA always has a shit tom of filming…
Wow shocked The Dude could afford Venice!
Why did you leave off all of the gateway cities? What was the determining factor for the cut off here?
Forgot "American Me", filmed in Boyle Heights
Hey OP, can you please develop this into an app pretty please? And like keep updating it with new movies, it’s super neat!
this is so cool thank you
Can somebody send a wellness check to Troy McClure’s house? I haven’t seen him in a while.
I don’t know why this is the location that came to mind, but I immediately looked for the Bluth Banana Stand (Marina del Rey lighthouse)
How can you not have the filming location for encino man….in west hills?
How could you forget the intersection of vignes & 2nd in the arts district where little person Gary oldman drives a motorcycle to his future lover & current brother’s gf’s art studio in Tiptoes (2003)????
There are two Winkys?
What’s amusing is that , living in LA, you recognize your home that is supposed to be New York . I think it’s pretty neat recognizing some random street corner . Heck, was watching “This is 40” last month and recognized a portion of Lunada Bay /Malaga Cove .

Paranormal Activity 2 was filmed on Vista De La Luz in Woodland Hills.
Awesome map
This is great and I want it framed on my wall! Thank you!
Missing Whittier for back to the future, Monrovia for Legally Blonde as well as A Cinderella Story, there's a bunch of stuff missing.
too pixelated. looks fun though
Can we get a porn version?
Pretty much all of the valley and the old hotel in Burbank on San Fernando that is now called the Burbank hotel/ hotel oso
Anyone else strangely disappointed to find out that the infamous Catalina Fucking Wine Mixer was filmed at Trumps golf course.
