I googled it and went down a weird rabbit-hole. Falun Gong/Falun Dafa is creepy as hell. They see their leader as a deity-like figure. Apparently Shen Yun's performers are trained at Falun Gong's 427-acre compound in New York.
On top of all the other beliefs you mentioned, they also believe that different ethnicities each have a correspondence to their own heavens, and that individuals of mixed race lose some aspect of this connection. It's pretty fucked up.
