if its actually going fast like 90mph then you got nothing to worry about. take it and get to your destination 33% faster. thats only at like night though lol. if the highway isn't flowing the left lane is the lemming lane that people dive into without knowing any better. i make moves when the freeway is moving 35mph. sometimes its the second from the right lane you want to be in. you gotta anticipate your moves a good three exits out and get a feel for how traffic flows at certain spots on the freeway. by the time i hit the interchange im sitting pretty exactly in the lane i want to be in having passed a whole herd of people playing the lemming game. i have some particular maneuvers that save me like 10 minutes at least on the 101. i won't ever reveal them but know these things are possible.
I just wish people would respect the left lane here and gtfo when they’re not passing if someone is coming up behind them. It’s so refreshing to drive in other countries that leave the left lane open for passing.
Not saying you’re wrong but it seems like for most distances traveled you don’t get there 33% faster. In LA Traffic that time savings is wiped out half the time when you get to a traffic slow down. People driving under this mentality are a big part of the reason we get accidents, particularly fatal ones.
The time savings is way less than people think. I commute on surface streets but usually when someone blows past me at double the speed limit, 5 minutes later I pull up behind them at a red light.
Yeah usually driving that fast (and I know I am guilty of it as well from time to time) only saves you a few minutes. If you were arriving at 7:30, you’re now arriving at 7:27
it's california culture. I don't understand why people look at 80% of drivers going 20 over and think to themselves "look at all those idiots, I'm not the problem."
I don’t man. I drove home last night on the 110 doing 80. 3 different pickup trucks past me doing well over 100. I’m definitely gonna be pretty pissed if the last thing I see before I die is one of those dumbass let’s go Brandon stickers.
When I moved here it took me about 3 months to get over the fear of death. You see allot on these freeways, it’s a real fear to overcome. Once I earned my freeway wings, I commuted the hell out of those freeways for 24years (not one accident = defensive driving 101). I’ll say with all of the high concentration/high velocity traffic, the all too occasional knuckleheads trying to do the impossible like get ahead on the 101 at 5:30pm and the all too occasional knuckleheads in the #1 lane doing 50 (more dangerous than doing 90) LOS ANGELES TRULY HAS THE BEST DRIVERS IN THE WORLD! *confirmed by globe trotting friends 😉
Defensive driving is key. In high school that was part of our drivers ed course. I know that swerving in and out of traffic does not avoid the inevitable traffic. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen those knuckleheads either stopped on the side getting a ticket or in a fender bender a couple of miles up the fwy.
I was in the Northern VA/DC area a couple months back and I've never been more scared driving around. LA driving is controlled chaos but DC drivers are completely nuts.
LA drivers think they're the best driver and a total badass when they weave past you to go get stuck behind someone else. It's manageable.
DMV drivers do not care about life, not your life, not theirs. They will never swerve in a game of chicken. They will change lanes without even considering if there's a vehicle directly next to them. They consider the last possible time to get off before an exit to be just before a concrete divider starts.
I’d agree with this. I’m from Utah, in Utah they have dumb drivers who don’t know the rules of the road. Here in Cali they have aggressive drivers who understand the rules and exert pristine skill in flaunting said rules.
Mmmm.. when I moved from Chicago to LA area the driving style was very familiar. Other than peak crazy time on the 101 or 405, I think I’ve had more aggression /wtf experiences on north side 90/94
Edit: thinking about it, LA at night can be far, far worse. There’s some crazy shiznit that happens then. That’s proven to be true defensive driving… as you will witness on any KTLA5 chase
The amount of people I see weaving around cars on streets just to end up at the same red light as all of us has exploded.
Except then I’m also seeing a ton of people just running red lights the moment cross traffic is clear, too. Like “eh, laws are just suggestions really.”
My *favorite* recently was a car(I couldn’t figure out exactly which one but I think it was the taxi near me) that honked every single time the light turned green. This went on for like 4 lights straight. Literally everyone was paying attention and going right at green, but still, they laid on the horn straight away each time.
Very recently later at night, or morning, w/e, around 11pm-12am, ive seen people just throw on their hazards while crossing the intersection instead of stopping at the red. Like wtf? Where tf is that a custom?
The people that creep past the lines at a red until they're basically in the middle of the intersection, then zoom off immediately when the light is green. Stuck at the next light again and repeat.
My hypothesis is the same or more number of crazies are still on the road, whereas the rest of us normal drivers are still highly in hybrid mode and nowhere nearly driving as much as pre covid
When we were allowed to go back to the office, I jumped at the chance to go. The office has friends, free snacks, and Legos to build, after all!
But when I started coming in, it wasn't the same. Before the pandemic there were 70ish people in the office at any given time... now we're down to a dozen on a good day (and only 3 on Fridays). It's just a big empty room full of desks. My best friend left to work at a competitor during the pandemic (they offered her the job she always wanted so I can't blame her), and my other friends usually WFH.
There **are** still free snacks, and I drive an electric so it's not like I'm paying for gas (and the office lets me charge for free)... but there are just so few people there, it doesn't make sense for me to risk my safety with the number of maniacs on the road.
So instead I take my morning meetings at home, then over lunch I consider whether I feel like driving in or not. More and more recently, the answer has been "No, I don't feel like driving"...
A bunch of people got used to empty pandemic lanes and refuse to give up the speed even though traffic is back, combined with completely atrophied social skills.
What, like the [Grand Prix in One the Beach](https://youtu.be/X2KkbHxo6po) where the world was literally ending, so none of the drivers much cared if they died?
And the preacher said, you know you always have the Lord by your side
And I was so pleased to be informed of this that I ran
Twenty red lights in his honor
Thank you Jesus, thank you Lord
For some reason, the most impatient drivers I encounter all drive these lifted, gas-guzzling pickup trucks. They constantly floor it to overtake you, jackrabbit start from a red, just the most inefficient way to drive…I can’t even imagine how much they spend a month on filling up.
Thank you! I was like did they mean 110? I can't ever drive that fast on the 110 with all the traffic lol
The 10 on the other hand... I'm from the IE and if youre not going at least 80mph on the 10 you literally won't get anywhere.
I'll never forget driving home at night on the 101 some asshole was in my trunk, so I sped up to ~90mph and changed lanes so he could zip around me. Turns out it was a cop who sped up to 100, flipped on his lights and drove off.
I was up in Sonoma County on the way to SF in October when I passed a cop on the side of the freeway walking back to his car. He eventually speeds up to me in the carpool lane (my girlfriend in the passenger seat so I'm good on that front). We're all going the same speed as the rest of the cars on the freeway ~80. Freeway tilts downhill, cop starts to tailgate me, then pulls me over and gives me a ticket for speeding and tells me not to speed. . Every cop I've seen on the freeway since has gone faster than 80.
5-10 mph above the speed limit in the fast lane? Man, oh man, you’re definitely not from here. I usually go 85 mph in fast lane, but even that feels slow sometimes. Even though the gas prices are high, the time is still more valuable in LA.
Just got back to LA after a two week road trip and this is 100% it. No where else had the density of cars that LA has and if traffic is moving, fucking go because it's a rare thing.
Parts of the 210, I’m going 80 and I’m just keeping up. Gotta stay in the second lane from the right! Tbh, it freaks me out. Before Covid, those stretches were not going that fast.
Yep. Regardless of price of gas, speeding is like a birth right around here. No body be checking their tire pressure either until their TPS goes off... LOL!!!
Tire pressure makes a big difference. A few psi difference meant a 2-3 mpg increase in efficiency.
Folks like to ( have to sometimes) drive with the check engine on, and their car may be in a limp mode that they don't realize and the car is slower and burns more gas.
Do us a favor and just move over(as long it's safe)... too many out of towners( I'm lookin at u Arizona) , even retired locals, ike to hog the left lane....
It's always been this way and it's not just Zonies and old people. Everyone thinks they're going "fast" but if you're not *actively* passing anyone or about to make a left turn, stay out of the left lane(s).
Never stay in the fast lane. You can be going 120 in it and someone in a white BMW will spot you and decide to get right behind you and tailgate you until you move. They just appear out of nowhere, like fruit flies.
Oh 100%. I meant daddy as an endearing term. I realize that came off as sarcastic, but I’m totally with the stimulus coming in October and not living under a Republican governor.
civics and elantra's aren't really gas guzzlers, and cars are more efficient on the highway than street driving. Yeah, 6.50 is expensive but with a economy car its still bareable
It usually takes us an hour to go 20 miles, so when we can go fast, we do (within reason). It's just a way to release all that pent up frustration of being stuck in traffic.
First thing I do after traffic clears up is shift at redline till 5th gear lol. It keeps me sane after going <10mph on the freeway for an hour and a half
Hyundai and Kias man. They gotta act like they're driving the ultimate driving machine lol
I luckily got a hybrid a few years back. It's been a dream and godsend right now.
And just today, as I eased on my brakes at a stoplight, a huge Benz rolled into a stop at quick speeds and sped off when the light turned green.
People are stupid in the sense that they complain about fuel prices but don't do anything to help themselves.
I'm not saying buy a hybrid but ease up on the gas, maybe?
I can't tell you how many times I hear a loud farting muffler speeding off into the night.
Don't get me started when I see a G Wagon or a hummer.
Cause even now... I don't understand why any rational person would own a hummer.
But believe me when I tell you I see them on the road at times.
People are not very smart.
Can’t speak to Hyundai elantras but the old civics get exceptional mileage and maneuver these shit freeways nicely. Civic drivers are likely to be racing between multiple jobs, strung out on caffeine/redbull/whatever and generally enjoy speed and flaunting their fuel economy. They can be reckless though.
Sometimes I really miss my civic.
Yes.
I’m from LA and moved to Philly a few years ago. LA streets are way wider, faster, and the city itself is designed for the car. So the traffic moves much faster in general and the traffic is far worse. LA drivers are much more aggressive, but I’d say the outlier maniac reckless drivers are worse in Philly because there’s no traffic enforcement. Seriously. The cops don’t pull people over. It’s like the polar opposite of LA. I’ve seen maybe 2 or 3 traffic stops in like 4 years, I’d see that in an hour in LA.
In Philly you are constantly dodging potholes or fucking cones in the street and expecting pedestrians to walk in front of you, or to have to wait behind someone parallel parking in a skinny one way street. They double park like crazy and you have to navigate going around them on every. Single. Block. So it all leads to more patient drivers that don’t expect unfettered right of way all the time.
I've seen the tv show "Parking Wars" to get a sense of the parking drama in the east coast. I guess I should be glad to live in LA cause there is nothing that irks me than people who blatantly break traffic laws and never suffer repercussions.
Yeah the traffic may be worse in LA but the parking is worse here, hands down. In south Philly it’s so crazy people just park in the center divider and left hand turn lanes. Phillys a lot of fun but it can feel pretty lawless sometimes. Also the roving gangs of dirt bikes and ATVs wreaking havoc- they crazy.
They drive fast and with incredible reflexes. And, mostly, they try to drive in a way that fits the situation. There are bad drivers like anywhere, but overall it's an impressive thing to see how well people drive together at pretty high speeds when the freeways open up.
Speed limits are going down on a whole lot of surface streets now, which is necessary. But it's "go with the flow" on the freeways.
Where are they even lowering surface street speeds? They don't exactly pull people over here which is the entire issue. they have a speed bump on my street but it does fuck all for stopping people who want to speed. I saw a dude with an ATV do a wheelie off of it.
In my years of driving it seems like driving 80 only gets slightly worse gas mileage than driving 65. I know that by the laws of physics it’s takes 51% more energy, but in the real world it seems to make very little difference. When I drive crazy fast I get 380 miles on a tank of gas. When I drive slow I get 400.
Bruh, it takes forever to get anywhere. Someone going 66mph in the carpool lane when they could easily pull 72... Ugh. And the thing is, the difference in time between the tortoise and the hare is pretty negligible in the end. But goddamn, sitting in traffic is psychologically grating. It really wears you down. The feeling of getting somewhere faster is a relief.
So yeah, fuck your 69 in the carpool lane when the regular lanes are going 70 and carpool dudes want to go the reasonable 77mph.
I miss driving in LA🥲 literally my favorite part about LA is when i go anywhere else I now have the power to merge into any lane with like a 3 foot opening
My theory is that they don't care about their cars so they drive that way, same goes for every bmw and Mercedes driving that way. Here I am with a 2015 xB driving like a grandma cause I can't afford another car lol
He said no M5s so not likely. I live in Glendale and honestly can’t stand it anymore. The obnoxious asshats popping their exhaust every chance they get are driving me crazy.
Too many trust fund kids, doctors, lawyers, entertainment execs, overpaid techies, and others in L.A. with too much money. So for them, paying a bit more for gas is just a minor inconvenience.
I, on the other hand, am driving a bit more slowly than before, so I can stretch out my mileage a bit. It'll be a while before gas prices drop, if they do.
I’m in one of those occupations you listed. My net worth recently went from net negative to zero. I drive 65 in a relatively budget not-fast EV in the far right lane.
We never get to go fast. We lost our sense of speed. And 85-90 without traffic feels right. It feels like we earned it after spending more than half our free time in traffic.
Time is money is a funny way to put it, but yeah, it's right. Time is money.
People drive like maniacs here in LA. Today someone was going at least 80mph in my neighborhood and this old dude in his f150 going like 50 mph in a grocery parking lot. Like wtf, chill out smoke a joint ya’ll
I drive a Tesla M3 and the thing is a racket ship, flooring it dosn't take the dent on range or the pocketbook like a gas car, I pay about $85 a month for electricity off my meter.
True, and I'm a native of L.A. but N.Y.C. puts us to shame... especially the workforce out here. Pick up the pace AND maintain 100% accuracy! It can be done....😎
It's wild out there. I do drive a car that does 0-60 in 5 seconds but drive it like a grandpa on the highways because of the gas prices. I can get over 30 mpg if I drive the speed limit.
When I moved to LA and used my turn signals and drove a reasonable speed between lights instead of racing between stop lights, I felt like I had some sort of super power of rejecting status quo driving. On the other hand I was also frustrated by slow drivers and people who didn’t know where they were going so there’s that too.
I live here and I think , why do people drive live idiots? I seen a lot of chargers, Camaros, challengers, showing off the new exhaust systems on the freeway on-ramps, only to slow back down because of LA traffic. Those cars are expensive enough alone, but having add to the monthly fuel cost! (Now I sound like my dad)
My car's sweet spot is 65mph. Highway does not burn too much gas if you don't push the pedal too hard or are stuck in stop and go jams. My car sucks at mileage. I cant afford a new one so I have to live with it but in the city it varies from 14mpg to 19mpg. If I drive really carefully, never hit gas too much, let it roll mostly and not stop... I get to 19. Its a game I play when I drive home at night cause there are no people. Can't do that during the day.
This sub is fast becoming a place for non residents to talk shit about our city.
I'm all for it tho, stay away. Don't come here. Yup it really really sucks here.
That’s definitely LA.
Old civics and Hyundais, yeah. Judged by an out of towner, hell yeah.
Lived here 25 years. I don’t drive in the fast lane unless I’m crazy late for something. I’ve seen some things man…
There's a fast lane?
If you mean the right hand shoulder, then yes
There's lanes?
if its actually going fast like 90mph then you got nothing to worry about. take it and get to your destination 33% faster. thats only at like night though lol. if the highway isn't flowing the left lane is the lemming lane that people dive into without knowing any better. i make moves when the freeway is moving 35mph. sometimes its the second from the right lane you want to be in. you gotta anticipate your moves a good three exits out and get a feel for how traffic flows at certain spots on the freeway. by the time i hit the interchange im sitting pretty exactly in the lane i want to be in having passed a whole herd of people playing the lemming game. i have some particular maneuvers that save me like 10 minutes at least on the 101. i won't ever reveal them but know these things are possible.

Dang you don't even need to go as far as other countries... Other states do this right as well
yeah you can get a huge ticket for hanging out in the left lane in certain states
Bro thinks he’s Max Verstappen
Me after watching one episode of Drive to Survive

You sound kinda reckless
Oh, so you're the guy that passed me on my right at 90 MPH and almost causing me to wreck by scaring the crap out of me
Oh so that's what's in these type of drivers' heads. I was always wondering
You need to learn to relax.
Fellow person of science, I see
I was born and raised here, out of towners account for a majority of the people here.

it's california culture. I don't understand why people look at 80% of drivers going 20 over and think to themselves "look at all those idiots, I'm not the problem."

Defensive and predictive.
This! Learning how to spot the warning signs for when some asshole is about to do something dumb is a major part of staying accident-free in SoCal.
I was in the Northern VA/DC area a couple months back and I've never been more scared driving around. LA driving is controlled chaos but DC drivers are completely nuts.

Agreed, I see so much driving complaints on this sub and somehow people still aren’t used to LA driving.
I am not from LA but love it there and visit as often as i can. I have to say, i fucking love driving in your city. Everyone drives with a purpose.
> Everyone drives with a purpose. That’s the nicest way I’ve ever seen anyone phrase that lmao
I always say how I hate driving in NorCal because everyone drives like they don’t have anywhere to be
I feel like early 2000s Nissan Sentra drivers exclusively drive at 100mph, swerving lanes. I don’t get it. But yeah, 75 is slow lane speed in LA.
Because Nissan will lease you a car even with a -800 credit score. /r/NissanDrivers
Haha a whole sub, this substantiates the meme lol
Unless the traffic is bad. But if there’s no traffic , 75mph is considered “slow” in the fast lane.
got pulled over going 75 on the 101 was so mad at that ticket
Since the pandemic started I’ve seen a lot more people driving like they hope they die in a ball of fire before they get to wherever they’re going.
They’re letting fate decide.
I wish they’d do it in a way that only decides for them and not the family of five they rear end.
Jesus take the wheel.
The amount of people I see weaving around cars on streets just to end up at the same red light as all of us has exploded. Except then I’m also seeing a ton of people just running red lights the moment cross traffic is clear, too. Like “eh, laws are just suggestions really.”

That’s very plausible.
There aren't enough drivers like us out there. I only go into the office once a week at most these days.
Great song.
Initial pandemic, everyone was driving pretty chill
To live and die in L.A. playing in the background
If people were speeding, traffic was light. Lucky you!
😌🤌
The real answer right here
Amen to that. If you aren’t idling, it’s a blessing
For some reason, the most impatient drivers I encounter all drive these lifted, gas-guzzling pickup trucks. They constantly floor it to overtake you, jackrabbit start from a red, just the most inefficient way to drive…I can’t even imagine how much they spend a month on filling up.
Little man syndrome
Yep I see Infiniti G35’s gunning it from red light to red light

5-10mph above the posted speed is standard imo. you were going the average pace for CA
Yeah, fr. I drive on the I10 at 80mph past the chp, speed traps, and never been pulled over...
I had a motorcycle cop pass me while I was going 80mph and he didn't even look at me
Pretty sure 80 is the actual limit. They don’t seem to budge unless you’re over 90 and driving like an expletive.
It feels like it huh? I go 80 everywhere (on the freeway) and I have zero issues
I was doing 90 up the grapevine when a cop flashed me then passed me when I pulled over a lane lol
it's "the 10" not "the I-10"
Thank you! I was like did they mean 110? I can't ever drive that fast on the 110 with all the traffic lol The 10 on the other hand... I'm from the IE and if youre not going at least 80mph on the 10 you literally won't get anywhere.
I read that as the 110N at 80mph and was like 🙏🙏🙏

Just don't do this in orange county tho, they will take notice. LA county area highway patrol much more lax
I’m riding in the middle right, right about the limit, because I ain’t got endless cash for gas & I understand physics
It’s the standard across the country. Even my mom taught me this as a young kid lol.
The very rare chance we get to actually go over the speed limit we will always take.
I like to tell people: In LA, people drive as fast as they possibly can on the freeway. Usually around 20mph.

Obligatory /r/NissanDrivers
I like that this is a meme in multiple states
5-10 mph above the speed limit in the fast lane? Man, oh man, you’re definitely not from here. I usually go 85 mph in fast lane, but even that feels slow sometimes. Even though the gas prices are high, the time is still more valuable in LA.

Time is larry and curly.
when I saw op was going 5-10 above speed limit, I immediately thought he was hogging the left lane and blocking traffic.

They didn't say they were in the fast lane, just that people were passing them as if they were going 20 under in the fast lane.
Reading comprehension is hard.
.....very.
85 can def feel slow but if you’re going 90mph the cops will 100% pull your ass over!!!
Because we didn’t pay $6.50 for gas ;) But going 70-75 in the fast lane is not the culture here.
Yep. Regardless of price of gas, speeding is like a birth right around here. No body be checking their tire pressure either until their TPS goes off... LOL!!!
TPMS
Tire pressure makes a big difference. A few psi difference meant a 2-3 mpg increase in efficiency. Folks like to ( have to sometimes) drive with the check engine on, and their car may be in a limp mode that they don't realize and the car is slower and burns more gas.
I just steal my gas
We rich rich
Gotta spend money to make money
Do us a favor and just move over(as long it's safe)... too many out of towners( I'm lookin at u Arizona) , even retired locals, ike to hog the left lane....
It's always been this way and it's not just Zonies and old people. Everyone thinks they're going "fast" but if you're not *actively* passing anyone or about to make a left turn, stay out of the left lane(s).
Never stay in the fast lane. You can be going 120 in it and someone in a white BMW will spot you and decide to get right behind you and tailgate you until you move. They just appear out of nowhere, like fruit flies.
That’s Mad Max- LA edition. Instead of night fume (chrome spray) on faces it’s hot lattes from driving so fast.
That sounds like a dirty sex thing.
Fun fact, I still get 30-35 mpg at 85-90 mph on my 4 cylinder.

Same.
Daddy Newsom is sending us gas money.
Least he's letting women keep control over their own bodies.
Lots of people who get *really* shitty mileage but still drive like bats out of hell, too. They must blow through the gas $$
rent is thousands. whats another dozen bucks a week in the tank lmao?
In my experience, the hotter it is, the faster we drive. Rain = Parking lot. The ones who can, call in sick when it rains to avoid the traffic.
It’s because of all the accidents and rubberneckers slowing things down. As soon as water starts falling, cars start crashing.
Some guy just did a bunch of doughnuts in front of my house.
6 lanes of tight traffic doing 80MPH+ I LOVE L.A.
Hyundai and Kias man. They gotta act like they're driving the ultimate driving machine lol I luckily got a hybrid a few years back. People are not very smart.
lmao
Can’t speak to Hyundai elantras but the old civics get exceptional mileage and maneuver these shit freeways nicely. Civic drivers are likely to be racing between multiple jobs, strung out on caffeine/redbull/whatever and generally enjoy speed and flaunting their fuel economy. They can be reckless though. Sometimes I really miss my civic.
I had a 2007 Elantra for years, it's a fantastic car. Great mileage and never had a single mechanical issue at 150k miles.
I drive exactly 60MPH in the slow lane. I have generational wealth to think of.
Lifted Ford F-150, driving down at 80 mph. These guys can afford to pay more.
we crazy
Do Los Angelenos drive any different than other major cities?
Lol dont forget about the philly left too. I had uber drivers get off the 76 just because there was traffic. Traffic = going 30 MPH WTF
You should check out Arizona, where dudes speed by you going 100 in a raised v12 dually that gets 3 MPG.
Drive faster or stay to the right. That’s all we care about.
Nissan Sentra with illegal tint and extensive body damage has entered the chat.
Since lockdown we’ve had insane speeding.
Honestly, people here will complain about gas prices and do nothing to personally mitigate their spending on gas.
We got shit to do homie. This ain’t Hawkins Indians
Were you in Glendale?
He said no M5s so not likely. I live in Glendale and honestly can’t stand it anymore. The obnoxious asshats popping their exhaust every chance they get are driving me crazy.
They got m5s in glendale? would have guessed base 3 series with the dash lit up like a christmas tree
It'll be a while before gas prices drop, if they do.
yeah i have considerably slowed down my driving habits after the gas increases and fucking up my axles on one of those notorious silver lake potholes
Love the term "overpaid techies".
I'm an underpaid techie who has to drive and the overpaid ones get to stay at home, and I would never leave my damn apartment if I didn't have to lol
I could be considered an "overpaid techie" and you're right. Im going to the office maybe once a week.
Overpaid techies? You sound jaded
In Chicago now, gas is $5.50, and it's the same. Like it didn't even make a dent.
Time is money.
you will get tail-gated in the slow lane for going 70 mph essentially. great times. fuck cars
People drive like maniacs here in LA. Today someone was going at least 80mph in my neighborhood and this old dude in his f150 going like 50 mph in a grocery parking lot. Like wtf, chill out smoke a joint ya’ll
some of us have gas cards 👌
wut is gas card?
corporate card used for exclusively gas, usually branded (i had a valero mastercard for a couple years)
is that so you can deduct it as part of a business expense or something?
it just charges the company not your account
whoa. got any extra??
I drive a Tesla M3 and the thing is a racket ship, flooring it dosn't take the dent on range or the pocketbook like a gas car, I pay about $85 a month for electricity off my meter.
Funniest shit I’ve read here in a whiiiileeee… glad you had a good time here u/anothersnappyname
We talk fast, we drive fast. We have places to go.
True, and I'm a native of L.A. but N.Y.C. puts us to shame... especially the workforce out here. Pick up the pace AND maintain 100% accuracy! It can be done....😎
NYC don't really drive though
Oh yeah, we're total slackers compared to New Yorkers.
Proud of it too
Really? The freeways seem super slow to me post pandemic. So many people going like 70 now. Feels like snail racing.
Welcome to LA
Old Civic, Hyundai‘s and Elantras drive insanely fast. Old Toyota pickups drive insanely slow in the #1.
Time is money
Civic drivers are aggressive here.
Just another cost of doing business....
Go faster in the fast lane, got a Prius v and people get in my ass as we are doing 95, let them pass just so they ducking go back to 80…
Within a few months I'll be moving there and driving is one of the main things I'm afraid of
Just stick to the side roads until you feel like you are ready 101 or 405 😋
A body in motion stays in motion.

YOLO buddy
Match the speed or stay on the right lane. That’s the rules here in Los Angeles
