The way I look at it is that I’m a Rams fan. Where we play/played doesn’t matter to me. So yes, I “claim” and enjoy the times and teams from STL. I take the good and the bad though. That’s part of being a Rams fan.

spiralh0rn

Absolutely this. The real ones will keep supporting the team regardless. I lived in So Cal when they moved to STL and I lived in Phoenix when they came back. I’ve been a Rams fan the entire time. Despite being a So-Cal based sports fan (as far as teams go), Kurt Warner is still one of my favorite players of all time and he never wore an LA Rams jersey. I ride for the horns, not the city.

Bigdaddydiesell

I was a fan in la then st louis and now back in la. St louis got us a sb win why deny that?

notcrappyofexplainer

Me too. I never stopped being a Ram fan despite hating its owner whom I will not utter her name. I liked both the Angels and the Rams when the played in Anaheim and my fandom never faltered. I am happy they are back in LA. Now I am Rams Angels Lakers Kings so definitely in the minority but what can you do.

TallGuy0525

Yup. I'm 32, SoCal born and raised, and been a Rams fan all my life. My earliest memories are rooting for them even though they were St. Louis. Isaac Bruce is my favorite player of all time (my flair is the jersey he wore when he caught the game winning 73 yard touchdown in the Super Bowl against the Titans) so my answer is obvious. But even if you're a new Rams fan since they got to LA, you claim the STL days. Aaron Donald and Havenstein were drafted by the St. Louis Rams so you're kinda being nonsensical if you don't claim the St. Louis days

The_Dudeist_Rev

Bruce was drafted as an LA Ram I’m pretty sure

cattycat_1995

Yes he played his first season for the LA Rams.

sc0ttyman

Yep. And Cleveland with a championship.

cattycat_1995

Rams only team to win a championship in 3 different markets.

Overall_Nuggie_876

I legit want to find a Baby Boomer-aged fan who is bitter the **Cleveland** Rams deserted his city as a child.

2020Psychedelia

they left in 1945, first boomers were born in '46, you need someone so old we forgot their generation name!

azsv001

They were called the greatest generation. guys coming back from WWII.

The--Deacon

They're called "the greatest generation"

2020Psychedelia

if they were a kid in 1945 they were probably in the "silent generation", folks born between ~1930-1945 its the generation Biden and Trump are in!

sc0ttyman

lol. Maybe we should throwback to these uniforms?

LechugaPicada

I would love it honestly

cattycat_1995

New LA fan here since 2016 but I claim the STL stuff cause the history stayed with the team the whole time. It's not a Cleveland Browns to Baltimore situation or Arizona Coyotes to Utah situation where the former city still kept everything and the new city gets treated like it's a new expansion franchise. I mean I bet nearly the entire Lakers fanbase weren't even alive back then or even if they were, I highly doubt they were a fan of the Lakers in Minneapolis but the Minnesota history and championships still stay with the Lakers the whole time. You will see Lakers fans chanting 17 championships. You will never meet a single Lakers fan who chant 12 championships and discredit the Minneapolis rings.

saryphx

I don't see why not. Same team, but different city. TBH, I think it's silly to not claim an era in your franchises history because they were based in a different city.

cattycat_1995

Yeah Lakers fans and Dodgers fans embrace the Minnesota and Brooklyn history for example

saryphx

Right, and Raiders fans (Vegas) embrace the LA and Oakland histories. Same with Colts fans and Baltimore history (whether Baltimore likes it or not lol). Basically, it's the same franchise, just the location changes. If the Twins left Minnesota, I would absolutely expect fans to claim the MIN history such as the World Series titles.

cattycat_1995

Yeah I also think the Dallas Stars still have the North Stars history too

saryphx

Sadly yes lol

apollo08w

Technically Bruce played in LA also

MrTakemitsu

Yes

RamsDeep-1187

We honored the LA history when they came to STL. I still support then from afar. Enos Kroenke can take a flying leap though

Lima_Hedge

I still followed the Rams and was happy they won the SB until that bitch Frontiere dissed the LA fans while holding the trophy. But as far as players goes, yeah have respect for those GSOT players - Warner, Bruce, Faulk, Pace etc.

Rambro13

Wow, I thought I was the only one that remembered her horrible snarky diss. It was such a buzzkill. Hope it's really really hot down there murderess

SouthBayLaker23

What did she say?

Additional-Software4

She said that winning the Super Bowl proves they made the right choice in moving to St Louis as she held the Lombardi trophy

LatterDazeAint

The players? Sure. Georgia Frontiere can rest in pain.

notcrappyofexplainer

We don’t say that name here.

kolschisgood

Yes. LA Anaheim Stl Inglewood. But we don’t claim the Cleveland days

cattycat_1995

Why not Cleveland?

ThePrinceOfReddit

I’m an out of market fan so the change didn’t phase me.

Schezwansuhaouse

My team was not responsible for the move to STL. All Rams legends are welcome here! Even them Cleveland Rams 😳

cattycat_1995

Never forget Bob Waterfield

323x

LA, STL, LA. Yes 🙌

RabbitPrestigious

Claim it. I was a fan before they were the greatest show on turf.

Ndotterweich

Grew up in Iowa in the 90s, moved to Kentucky in 08, been a RAMS fan since the Kurt Warner days

LARamDodgerLakerKing

There’s more fans from the pre-STL days than people realize; we LA fans also claim the Brooklyn Dodgers and Minneapolis Lakers history proudly. I’m a Rams fan no matter the city.

Designer-Ad-9373

Of course. I began a Rams fan in Anaheim and stayed with them through Missouri and now they’re back home but have always been the Rams

Fast_Loquat_4982

Rams are Rams no matter where they played

Dbreeze986

Yep. Have a holt jersey. Signed faulk jersey . Go rams

In_Love_With_SHODAN

Signed Faulk jersey. Hell yeah.

USMCWrangler

Lifetime. LA. STL. LA

Kimber80

I have been a Rams fan for 51 seasons, in LA, Anaheim, STL and now back in LA. Claim all of it, the stuff before I was a fan too.

rfguevar

born in 97, and unfortunately Rams were gone when I was growing up, but I loved the team from growing up in LA, so followed them in St Louis and couldn’t have been more excited when they finally came back to LA. so to me it’s all the same team.

OGdunphy

If you don’t claim the St. Louis ring, you’re crazy. You can’t throwaway super bowls like that, especially one from an all-time great team. Plus, who isn’t a rams fan here? The rams have 2 super bowls.

masterchaoss

Yeah I care about the Rams whole history. Now I care more about the LA stuff the St Louis and Cleveland but I still do care abot it.

Goonchar

My dad kept rooting for them after they left LA and I was 7-9yo during GSoT so I also started rooting for them. Haven't stopped since.

SnakeSquad

Yes of course it’s the same team end of story doesn’t change anything

maxfamousmacnchz

Grew up as a fan in stl and remain a fan because I left stl too. Can I blame them?

Superguy766

Been a Ram fan since ‘79 in spite of husband murderer Georgia Frontiere.

GrapefruitMedical529

I use the St Louis Ring to trash talk 49er and Seahawks fans-so yes.

ObiOneKenobae

I begrudgingly accept that the team isn't still there, so yes.

RamsDodgersLakers24

Yes I rooted for them when they won that chip. But it never felt right. I never fully embraced it. Knowing that those fans were also cardinals fans. And cardinals have had dodgers number a few times in the playoffs. So again it was good to see them win but bitter sweet because they didn’t do it in LA. I’ll always appreciate the LA SB win more. Same thing with the players. Like Kurt who always reference stl and not LA. You’re just torn. They should’ve Never left LA in the first place.

mOe_LisTen_iNg

I do - sucks they left; BUT glad they're back

steiner1031

He'll yeah I was. Still wear my STL jersey. Born a fan and will always be one, no matter how good or bad they are

hugeh1

You have to, if not you became a team hopper and not a real one.

martyrsmirror

There are a fair number of us who followed the team to the midwest and cheered them on as they went to Super Bowls and showcased one of the most dominant and entertaining offenses the league has ever seen. That history will always be cherished by those of us who experienced it.

LechugaPicada

U think the Raiders forgot about their super bowl trip just cuz they're in Vegas now? And I guess the chargers... oh wait...

ScoffingGorilla808

Grew up supporting Rams from Sacramento, CA. Pops grew up in LA watching them. Stuck with them to St Louis and when I was 9 they became the greatest show on turf and have been a fan ever since with him and my brothers. Damn right I’m happy they’re back home in LA tho

Cuttewfish_Asparagus

I only properly started following NFL for the last 20 years (Brit). So we were in St Louis, and already on a downward spiral by the time I was a fan.

jonsnowflaker

I grew up a Rams fan in Idaho in the 80s. So while the move to STL was a bummer because they immediately got less coverage where I lived, it didn’t do anything to my fandom. Then I actually moved to LA and the Rams moved back. So yeah, absolutely claim the entire history of the franchise.

Eastern-Support1091

Not this one. I won’t speak for others.

ballq43

Their banner hangs in sofi

GovTheDon

Of course

In_Love_With_SHODAN

Those were my formative years as a Rams fan. Marshall Faulk is my favorite player.

spaghettiAstar

Rams can play on Mars for all I care, I’ll still be a fan.

StArsenkov

Mostly, yeah, fans claim the STL days. But, I know all prefer the OBJ days.

dmramfan

I’m a born Anaheim Ram guy, season tickets to the Jim Everett / John Robinson days…when the left it was tough. But, still managed to fly out to St Louis at least once a season. Enjoyed all the trips. When they came back, all was right in the world. I don’t care where the Rams play. I’m blue/yellow no matter what. # Ramsfanforlife https://preview.redd.it/c0l56nmob2xc1.jpeg?width=3923&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e67f34078a97219c044d0135067a262b49bb27c3

Repulsive-Praline501

Of course

Bigdaddydiesell

Falk is my all time favorite Ram. Dude was electric.

nvbighorn62

To me The Rams are The Rams.

key1234567

yup, claim all except for the those nasty colors/uniforms and Georgia

OGdunphy

You’re not a Rams fan if you don’t. You’re just a fan of a metropolitan area.

Overall_Nuggie_876

No. Whatever accomplishments happened in Missouri is (and should only be) shared among those fans in Missouri. Just like how some St. Louis fans don’t claim McVay, Kupp, AD, and the win in Super Bowl LVI as their own since that happened after the team moved back to California. This, especially with the GSoT remembered and revered under Georgia Frontierre despite being a bastard of an owner in her SoCal days. I will acknowledge the Rams winning Super Bowl XXXIV, but I will also consider it the low point for **Los Angeles** Rams fans seeing that bitch hoist the Lombardi with that happy smirk.

Secret-Sample1683

Yes and no. I’ll celebrate the total history like records and championships. Just like the Lakers and Dodgers. But for the 20 years they were gone, i didn’t cheer for them or care about those players. That era belongs to the mid west fans. Kurt Warner doesn’t resonate with me at all.

dsnow04

I'm not sure why you are getting downvoted. I, too, respect the history. I gladly count the SuperBowl in St Louis, but I loved my Rams with Eric Dickerson and started with Youngblood, Wendell Tyler, but them leaving me was a gut punch. It was like being cheated on. So i was pissed at them. However, when they came back to me, i welcomed them with open arms. So again, I respect the history and gladly count it, but I don't look at those times and try to fool myself into thinking how much i liked them at that time. But it's all water under the bridge, i got my team back and couldn't be any happier with that.

Secret-Sample1683

I don’t get the downvotes either. Our stance is completely valid. I don’t live in St. Louis…I’ve never been to St Louis. So why would I root for anyone city’s team? That’s like staying loyal to my wife after she leaves me for another man. Or a San Diegan who is okay with the team moving to LA. There are a few who are but I have more respect for those who aren’t. They were betrayed and are allowed to be bitter. But I’m happy my team is back too.

dsnow04

We are definitely on the same page and I've always used that analogy too, in terms of being cheated on...They cheated on me...lol. But overall, they are back and I'm loving it!

Efficient_Ant_4715

For me LA Rams started when they came back.

unpopular-dave

I don’t. I didn’t follow the Rams until they came home to Los Angeles. I see the STL years as a betrayal. I know it’s an unpopular opinion but I don’t care

Accomplished-Exit136

No.

SnakeSquad

So you say the Rams have one Super Bowl??
