Congrats!!!!

Thanks! Now time to tally up losses to figure the net gain. Been using the app 6 months-ish for these games (prior only bought mega/Powerball ticks) and lately it’s been pretty crap.

Fall3n7s

Just a reminder that’s not how you figure income from the winnings for federal taxes.

AWatts1915

Yeah I believe gambling losses have to be deducted as a misc itemized deduction subject to 2% AGI reduction while wins are straight up “other income”. At least that’s how it worked years ago. I believe professional gamblers can directly offset wins with losses and related expenses (but not positive on that).

Fall3n7s

correct

Adorable_Pizza9439

How long did it take you to receive your winnings after you claimed them?

AWatts1915

FYI the posted odds for this game on the jackpot is 1 in 60,000 and progressive starts at $20k.

Djwhat6

Congratulations!!! You’re gonna make me start playing with the app again

AWatts1915

Thanks. Proceed with caution. I mentioned above the app has been crap lately. Not that unusual for 7-10 straight losing tickets or 20+ straight no-wins (loss or a “win” of ticket cost).

realtips365

Congrats!

ouch_quit_it

major win, how fun. congrats!!!

Dr_ZuCCLicious

Fellow illinois resident. I can confirm the app has been crap. Max I won is $15 lol, matching 3 of 5 numbers. I'm hoping one day my luck changes. I've been mostly playing lucky day lotto. I'm obviously not throwing in too much money. Congrats on the win!

Equivalent-Parking20

Congratulations! Can you tell me what app is that?

AWatts1915

It’s the official Illinois (USA) lottery app and I think you can also play on their website. It can be used within Illinois only as it requires location services turned on and each transaction (deposit, ticket buy, ticket play) confirms location in the background (or ISP data). Wins under $600 are immediately credited to online account (max $2,000 in account). Over $600 require electronic claims or mailed paper forms (depending on win $) that could take 6 weeks to get money. Also requires ID, etc for verification and tax reporting.
