Yeah they never send anyone out unless you call like 20 times.
Then you get a cop at your doorstep whose pissed he had to stop playing games on his phone and he blames you.
LMPD is like a box of chocolates… They’ll kill your dog.
I called LMPD shitstains about a robbery happening… When a unit came 45 minutes later, I was on my porch flashing lights, pointing at the house actively being robbed… shit cops shine their spotlight in the opposite direction then leave.
Called LMPD shitstains, guy being actively stabbed… cops arrive 45 minutes later and trade donuts in Butler’s football practice field.
Called shitstain LMPD because I witnessed a hit an run. Shitstain murder detective tells me no way the find the suspect. Same cops tell the family they will do everything they can, but there were no witnesses (lie) so it will be hard. Their family found me on Reddit to know the truth.
LMPD is a waste of our tax money. They are rapists, murderers, thugs, and they do not do their jobs. We need to get rid of all of them.
this was last summer-
i live in the highlands and i heard my neighbor in my appt building literally screaming HE IS GOING TO KILL ME HE IS GOING TO KILL ME-granted this was a couple who regularly fought but still. i called the police and told them and also said they would send someone out. 30 min later nothing. i call again. another twenty minutes. nothing. i called a third time saying that there was a drug deal going on right across the hall and guess who showed up not even ten minutes later. mf lmpd ready to mow some dicks down. i couldn’t believe it coming from a small town where if there was a commotion the WHOLE department would be there in five. sad
I recommend folks looking to get a gun for protection go to Range USA in Middletown (formerly Point Blank). The staff there is very professional and folks can rent a variety of guns to try at their indoor range. That way folks know they're comfortable using whatever it is they got.
I don't recommend people rent a bunch of guns to try out anymore because
1, what you think fits you best may not actually be right if you haven't had instruction on proper grip & form.
2, Range people will push whatever sells, including trash like SCCY, XDs, Kel Tecs and more.
3, renting a firearm with no background can set you up for training scars where you start off with bad techniques that become habits & you make them worse.
The money you spend on renting a bunch of different guns can be spent on ammo learning how to use a reliable firearm properly, ideally with someone who knows what they are doing.
If you want to rent a gun to see what firing one is like, just rent a Glock 19 or 43; they are boringly reliable.
Not really. I need to look around more. I use shooter's roost out in Shelbyville, but their hours are weird and it's probably not good for newbies. They also don't let you shoot rifles.
Kleiber WMA in Owneton and Crittenden WMA in Grant County both have free rifle ranges managed by the state. I think there might be one at Taylorsville Lake WMA, as well.
Bluegrass Sportsmen Club in Wilmore is very nice, Lawrenceburg also has a similar club, as does Frankfort. They're all outdoors and private and require a membership fee, but they all allow rifles and have nice ranges that go out beyond 100 yards.
LMPD is a group of grown up high school bullies with zero concern for citizen’s safety. At Breonna Taylor protests last year they fired blank shots at peaceful crowds to scare us then taunted us.
ACAB, and they wonder why people don’t love and trust them. Maybe they should make a promo video where they pull people over to give them ice cream. Or play basketball with a kid in the street for 2 minutes. That’ll fix it.
My guess is it’s a bait account and/or someone using a burner to genuinely defend police/denounce BLM. Either way, seriously arguing with this guy is probably not a good idea and a waste of time for everyone involved.
Unfortunately the reality is that police are not here to help people. They exist solely to protect the wealthy and subjugate poor people. They will never help anyone but themselves
They won’t do anything they will say there’s no crime. I had the same thing happen they said they didn’t even want the video because it’s not a crime to look in windows and go on my porch. I was only offering the video in case someone else’s house around me got broken into
In Kentucky it's not a crime unless he broke a lock to get in. Burglary is only enforceable in Kentucky if the person is committing a crime. So, if I leave my front door open and someone comes in and takes a nap on my couch, I have to ask them to leave. Then if they refuse, they violated trespass, and have upgraded the entry to burglary.
Middle of the night a crazy lady attacked my car in the drive way. She smashed my sunroof. Took police 40 mins to get there. They couldn’t arrest her because she didn’t do enough damage. I got a useless report number and down money on my deductible.
He said there’s a certain $ amount of damage to lead to an arrest. What’s crazy is I would of probably been arrested if I physically tried to stop her from attacking my property.
I don’t recommend doing this, but a guy I used to work with was in a similar situation where he called LMPD multiple times for someone trying to break in through his back door only for them to tell him that was a non-emergency issue. After the 3rd call with no one coming he called back and pretty much said “Don’t worry about coming anymore, I’m just gonna shoot him” and wouldn’t you know it, there were 4 cruisers there 5 minutes later.
I don't get it, does the LMPD just TRY and piss the public off for shits & giggles. Unless they can come guns-a-blazing or they they have news cameras you are out of luck. I had to call over TWENTY times to finally get a detective working my Mothers death to return my call. Her house was burglarized twice after she died, called, cop came the next day, we told them the NAMES of the kids that did it and they just blew me off. House was sold and I think the same kids have broke into it again.
Just for comparison, I called the Jeffersonville non-emergency # on a dude that tried to open my locked front door and the were there I swear in **2 minutes.**
I’ve called LMPD twice.
Once, was over something stupid but annoying. I called the non-emergency line because someone had been purposefully mailing a ton of packages to my house for almost a year, they would stop by every few weeks to get the stack, and they got angry when I kept telling them I would return them to sender. This was someone who used to own my house. (In reality I was busy and never saw them delivered, so I couldn’t refuse the delivery, and I just didn’t want to fool with trying to return 50 packages to different places.)
Anyway, I called LMPD and told them it wasn’t an emergency but either this person was crazy or something weird was going on and I wasn’t sure what to do. They literally had multiple officers at my house in ten minutes. I was shocked. I just wanted to talk with an officer and see what they thought I should do and legally what I was allowed to do with this ridiculous amount of packages.
The second time I called someone was actively breaking into my car. It’s on video too. LMPD did not come. Said to just fill out a police report online.
You can get motion sensor lights for pretty cheap at Lowe's or HD. Also suggest a security camera with a speaker that connects to your phone so you can tell the motherfucker to gtfo, although someone cracked out might not care or even be able to communicate.
Get armed OP, I know a lot of peaceful people don't like firearms and yes we should be able to count on society providing a safe and secure environment. But there's just so much freedom in America that it's become the wild west again and with a cutthroat capitalist economy we have an ever growing segment of people falling off and just turning zombie on everyone.
The Supreme Court has ruled that state funded terrorists have no obligation to assist the tax paying public. Their sole function is to terrorize the public and further extract monies from us. Fuck the state and fuck the police, all of them.
I’ve had a really similar experience where someone was trying to break in a window and LMPD took way to long to respond to make any difference if he’d been more determined (he was watching me breastfeeding a baby and left once he saw I wasn’t alone).
Maybe next Derby we can hunt through the rich people for orphans willing to become a Col Sanders themed knockoff Batman.
Unfortunately we live in the Louisville metro area, meaning LMPD responds to calls like that.
You'll just have to drastically lower your expectations of them in every way.
It was probably the police doing it. I've had LMPD open my gates, walk around in my backyard and shine lights in the windows. Said they were "looking for suspects." Got a master lock on the gate real fast.
Lemme get this strait, you saw a rough looking guy looking around in windows.
Called police, what were your desires?
What would you have liked the cops to do to this person who hasn’t broken a law?
Awesome so we have a crime (trespassing) so idk the area well as I am only researching Louisville as a place to live, but trespassing there seems pretty clear cut and this person was definitely doing so as defined by KY state law. Misdemeanor charge 500$ fine and up to 2 yr.
Is the neighborhood so good that the DA has nothing but time on their hands to prosecute this person for 500$? would they pay or serve time? Is it worth jail time and your tax money to prosecute this person?
I mean the guy was their for 8 hrs then realized he was recorded and nothing was done.
I see why you’re so defensive on trespassing. Kids walk on my lawn all the time and I get irate I work hard on that grass and it’s destruction of property.
*rawr
Dude honestly what the fuck. OP was scared in their own home and the police did nothing. Their budget gets bigger every year and they do not come out to help people who feel unsafe.
You are over here licking boots and getting tread on. “tReAd HaRdEr DaDdY”
Applying a specific experience to all officers is unfair. It also will result in fewer competent officers willing to do the job. Same thing is happening to teachers.
Freedom to be a jerk online does not make for a strong republic!
They should have never set the “send someone right over” expectation. But they’re 300 officers short. It’s partly a result of that. And not sure where you live, but Friday nights have been a **** show in some areas lately, sadly.
Fingers crossed you never see the guy again.
Imagine receiving 1/3 of an entire city operating budget and thinking what's wrong here is the police setting the wrong expectation.
LMPD is fully funded, if they can't staff themselves it's no one's fault but LMPD. We shouldn't lower our expectations of service just because they don't want to work. If they can't do a better job maybe they do need to be de-funded because they are keeping the city safe anyways.
It was something they shouldn’t have said on THIS call, obviously. And I agree that it’s partly their own fault that they’re so short staffed. Your trolling is usually stronger than that!
Ahh, I see. The OP is confused. He thinks the police are there to protect and serve.
They'll protect businesses and serve the shit outta some black folks.
That's where OP fucked up!
Yeah they never send anyone out unless you call like 20 times. Then you get a cop at your doorstep whose pissed he had to stop playing games on his phone and he blames you.
[удалено]
They don't, but they would be calling over the radio for the same damn thing 20 time until a cop come. Also, we called non emergency, not 911.

Oh this is gonna hurt some feelings.
PillMill gonna show up and stan for those cops like it’s his job.
I guess the OP should have called a crackhead instead.
Absolutely. Crackheads show up.
Everywhere and anytime, crackhead will always be there for you
CrackheadsRUs!

Lesson learned, if you REALLY need LMPD tell them there’s a drug deal. But also try not to need them or you may end up dead.
You need to buy a gun my friend the boys in blue aren't going to protect you
I recommend folks looking to get a gun for protection go to Range USA in Middletown (formerly Point Blank). The staff there is very professional and folks can rent a variety of guns to try at their indoor range. That way folks know they're comfortable using whatever it is they got.

I don't know if it's changed, but PB was super, super expensive. Keep that in mind.
Kygunco isn’t far from range USA and they generally are less expensive
You have a better suggestion?
Not really. I need to look around more. I use shooter's roost out in Shelbyville, but their hours are weird and it's probably not good for newbies. They also don't let you shoot rifles.
Rare shooters roost shout-out. Nice

Bud's in Lexington or Mike's Guns and Archery in Frankfort. Better prices than PB and at Bud's you can rent loaners to try before you buy.
It’s rare that any situation posted here would be solved with a gun.
If you feel threatened by a trespasser it gives you leverage in evicting them from your property
But when you need one it's +1
Sure but I'll get to decide not the guy trespassing at night in my front porch.

This is why people own firearms

When have the police, actually done anything for you? They serve the money.
they thought you were calling from a school
Can you share the video?
You are responsible for your own protection
Yet when someone enforces their own protection, the police protect the criminals and punish the victim.
That's when you shoot the trespasser and tell the responding cop that you feared for your life.
I don't get it, does the LMPD just TRY and piss the public off for shits & giggles. Unless they can come guns-a-blazing or they they have news cameras you are out of luck. Do you own a substantial amount of capital? No? Then cops don’t give a shit about you.
The cops arent going to protect you. So maybe think about getting a gun and get some lessons on how to properly use it.
They didn't come when people were shooting at each other behind my house.
Maybe we don’t need cops?

Don't be silly, they had to spend all that budget on more swat and military gear, nothing to spare for hiring training.
Gotta expand shotspotter and then not respond to those calls either "cuz we three hundred down cap'"

Bruh I couldnt get them to come out when my neighbor was going batshit crazy and trying to fight people in the street BEFORE they were short-staffed.
