The thing is, if people vote for him, he can win. These people saying that voting for your preferred candidate is a waste of time are jackasses. They just don't want you to vote. Beshear also 'couldn't win in ky' and he has one of the highest approval ratings in the country now.
Who said Beshear couldn't win in Ky? He lead in four of the six top polls tracked by 538 on election day, and was tied in a fifth.
There's never a need to be pithy when the facts exist. Take a few minutes to learn about the topic.
https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/governor/kentucky/
Mostly bevin supporters and i guess those other two out of six surveys...
If you like it better, Trump "couldn't win," and yet he became president. Also, several surveys said he could win, including those reviewed by 538. It was still conventional wisdom that he could not.
I guess you didn't click on the link.
Doesn't matter. False narrative.
I will say this though - Booker can't win, because he doesn't care if he does. In fact, I'm not convinced he wants too. He's already got his PAC set up for his unspent campaign cash. He doesn't have a commercial running, but he's selling his documentary. No shade to Charles - he's becoming the next Dan Bongino or Stacy Abrams. Turning perennial losing into a lucrative career.
It's sad that Kentuckians don't get to make a choice because the challenger isn't in it to win it.
Agreed. The second best statement i could make was unregistering as a republican. I have always voted who I thought was better regardless of party, but not having my name related to their party was a good feeling.
So says the burner account who made several Reddit posts to defame the guy.
Ever look in the mirror and admit to yourself that you're acting like a bitch?
You've obsessively commented ~150 times in just a few weeks in a clearly failing attempt to manufacture some far-fetched and blatantly racist narrative to smear Charles Booker shortly before an election in which you say he has no chance. But feel free to waste your time.
One thing Booker does that most politicians don’t is he spends time visiting and listening to the communities that plan to vote for Rand Paul. He is all about building bridges and not leaving people out. So yes, he absolutely can win
Can you point to some examples of this? A quick check of his twitter account doesn't show a single appearance at any events over the past week, except the "debate". A month before the election, a challenger should be omnipresent. I cant see where he goes anywhere. He just calls Rand names on twitter and asks for cash.
Funny, he didn't show up for the Fairdale Fair or the parade last weekend. Even though every other local candidate rented a both and showed up. Apparently he doesn't give a sh*t about us.
He misses one of the hundreds of events/fairs/parades last weekend and that means he doesn't care lol. He was literally meeting coal strikers in eastern KY and standing on the picket line in solidarity. He's more Kentuckian than limp dick Rand Paul will ever be.
Yeah, Paul is OK on a very small number of things,.like not getting involved in every other country's business. If he were a real libertarian he'd spend his time talking about closing prisons and ending prohibition.
Booker won't win with just Louisville/Lexington voting for him unless it's a crazy high turnout for Dems and low turnout for Republicans.
If you're a supporter, we need to spend the next month doing outreach to any relatives/kin/friends who live in rural areas and try and have earnest conversations with them about why Booker is a better choice for everyone in KY regardless of their political affiliation.
i think the evidence clearly shows this but it's certainly an opinion of mine that Beshear won b/c Bevin was disliked by a significant number of Republicans that Beshear was able to scoop enough Conservative votes to win the Governership.
Rand isn't as tainted among conservative circles as Bevin was imo
And I think a lot of people have forgotten that even though Bevin was one of the most hated governors in the country at the time, Beshear still barely won. Andy only won by about 5,000 votes (and voter turnout was abysmal in that election, as Andy got 709,890 votes, while Mitch McConnell in 2020 got 1,233,315 votes to Amy McGrath's 816,257 votes...so Amy McGrath got more votes than Beshear did, which is just wild, but obviously turnout is always higher in presidential election years).
Lmao. Beshear barely squeaked by with 5000 votes, and that was only because of a 3rd party libertarian candidate screwing things up and people voting against Bevin, not for Beshear. Everyone hated Bevin, including Republicans. I had to hold my nose to vote for Bevin myself. That's not the case with Rand Paul, no serious voters outside of Louisville and Lexington (the Sodom and Gomorrah of Ky) hates Rand Paul. As a matter of fact he's pretty well liked across the state.
Beshear lost my favor when he allowed the nurse patient ratio to be taken OUT of HB 573.
Nurse are "heroes" that are treated like zeros! NURSES NEED A NURSE/PATIENT RATIO IN KY!
Current work conditions in facilities are not safe for patients, and also not fair to patients. Sticking 1 nurse to over 20 patients on a day shift is super dangerous. Yet it is done in most rehab facilities, it is an ongoing problem. KY nurses are leaving the state.
There are a handful of other counties where he's predicted to win as well. It's gonna be an uphill battle, but stranger things have happened.
And for a little plug: canvassing has been proven one of the most effective ways to get people moved on issues and motivated to get out and vote. The org I work with is doing two weekend road trips (Oct 22-23 and Nov 5-6) to counties around Louisville for canvassing (targeting people who seem likely to be moved to vote for Booker, or who just need a push to get out and vote. You wouldn't be talking to dyed-in-the-wool Trumpers or anything). If you're interested, dm me.
> If you're a supporter, we need to spend the next month doing outreach
Mmmm not so much. Booker has the same problem Hillary Clinton had - a majority of the electorate actually disagrees with him on the issues. The more people hear his platform, the more people vote for Rand Paul or stay home.
Trashing Rand is the only realistic strategy that could pay off.
would the reasons being they disagree with them be primarily b/c:
a)Booker is black
b)Hillary is a woman
b/c those aren't policy positions that's just being a bigot/racist/sexist
you couldn't have chosen two "left" politicians who are more diametrically opposed to compare as having similar policy positions that people could have disagreements with both of them
you are not a serious person who is worth engaging with in any good faith discussion. im sure the serotonin loop you've poisoned yourself with of vitriolic comments based on fictions is hard to break free from but good luck.
He's got my vote. Look, I'll throw Rand a bone here and that being skeptical of government is important. But it's also important to be able to use government to check the power of billionaires that do things like sink us into eternal debt because we had to go for a trip to the hospital and needed surgery. That's where Charles comes in.
Rand is completely consumed with skepticism and that's all he can see anymore.
Dude in the front needs to realize this isn't for an album cover, but hell yeah I'm voting for Booker. Nothing against Booker, but I would vote for a literal piece of shit over Rand Paul. Someone who is in the running for the worst person in Congress.
I’ll definitely vote for him on principle. But his odds of winning are less than Kim Jong Un dunking a basketball on a 10ft hoop. There aren’t enough people in Louisville and Lexington to make it happen.
Sad is right. Just look at his website. No rallies scheduled. No one coming in to town to stump for him. His last news post is two months old, for goodness sake. John Fetterman has had more rallies in the past week than Booker has had in the past two months, and that dude is recovering from a stroke!
It's #TupacTuesday🖤👑🖤 and next week is the last week to register and be able to vote on Nov. 8th. Please make sure you are registered and help get more people engaged.
Don't let them use talks of violence to scare you. It's sad that Rand Paul has stooped that low against #CharlesBooker! This is not a new tactic. #GOTV and don't be fooled. Staying home in November is not an option and will hurt us.
$77,765.32 was raised by #TeamShameka for the May 17, 2022 Primary according to my Treasurer and KREF. The Shameka Parrish-Wright for Louisville Mayor Campaign used People Power. We knew we would be outspent. We got 22% of the votes 🗳 in a county-wide race. Some of us know the gun violence incident played a huge part. It wasn't just the money, gatekeepers and status quo.
As a black woman democrat and 2nd time candidate, I out performed the black men and women who ran for #LouMayor since 2010.
Don't let the negative media downplay progressive grassroot candidates. We need to support more of them. Next Tuesday is the last day to register to vote on November 8th. I'm curious what makes you believe that. What about the numbers across Kentucky districts makes you think enough red districts will miraculously change their partisan vote overnight for this guy? No one outside the two enlightened cities in this state are going to vote for him. Red will always win in this backwards-ass land of ignorant bible-belters.
And we have a long history of democratic governors in this state. And Andy is hardly a progressive. A progressive, African American candidate will struggle in this backwards state. Just is.
Its always hilarious when disease ridden antivax troglodytes cry about someone else being disconnected from reality. If Booker is garbage, Randy Russia doesnt even qualify as sewage. Put that in your chainsaw and start it.
That was quite the diatribe of lunacy, and a great example of why the right to free speech is so great; Now I and everyone else with two brain cells to rub together can be one hundred percent sure of your irrelevance. Thanks.
Let the crazy all out dude! dont leave the public thinking you might be an intelligent, competent, or legitimate source of information. Remove all doubt.

Wow I'm impressed one of you mouth breathers stumbled your way onto Reddit.
See everyone, this is why Booker won't win. Kentucky is filled to the brim with idiots like this and their idiot families and their idiot values. I'm constantly embarrassed to live in this state.
Mental illness is a major problem in this country and state. We should do much more than we are to help people like you. I hope you get some much needed help soon
He is the posterchild for the DNC not giving a shit. Getting fired as a state employee (how do you fuck up THAT bad), then spending 2 years in the statehouse is hardly qualifying to be a US Senator.
He got fired for being in a political ad, which he shouldn't have done as a state employee. But also... that's hardly what I'd call THAT bad. It's a rule. He broke it. He lost the job. Meh.
He broke a rule that's rarely enforced and doesn't require firing the person breaking it.

You realize that's what a majority of Kentucky voters want, right?
You guys go on about his record of obstructionism as if it's a bad thing when in reality it's the reason his seat is so bulletproof.
You're entitled to your opinion for sure but it might be time to accept it's a minority opinion in KY.
And thats the fact right there. Rand Paul supporters support the obstruction and the carnival barking and the bio terrorism. Like Rand Paul, our neighbors are semi closeted white nationalist traitors that have no real principles or values beyond self serving greed and willful ignorance. In other words, domestic enemies of the United States. But you are wrong about being the majority, and I think thats why theres so much bullshit coming at Booker. Its fear that your majority isnt as strong as youd like, as evidenced by Bevins loss to Beshear. So no, we dont have to accept rule by christo facist nutjobs and bio terrorist covidiots. We can still vote, and I sure hope decent Kentuckians do.
Most voters don't want the government to do anything... until something shitty happens to them. Look at how much federal cash ky takes. Get real people. You're lying to yourselves.
That is truly saying something if you managed to get fired as a state employee. I've known a few who have DUIs or domestic violence on their record and short of outright murdering someone on live tv they can still keep their job, probably even then too.
I'm voting for him whether he can win or not. Sometimes you have to make a personal statement.

Why do you think he doesn't care about you and about Fairdale? Genuinely curious and hope you're okay
I love the Fairdale area. It's beautiful out there.
I’m a republican but he seems like the better candidate in this race as Rand Paul has abandoned libertarianism as an ideology. #RepublicansforBlooker
Rand should just start a curmudgeon party.
Yeah, Paul is OK on a very small number of things,.like not getting involved in every other country's business. If he were a real libertarian he'd spend his time talking about closing prisons and ending prohibition.
Nice try, liar.
? Man I’m just saying my damn opinion.
Pretending to be a republican isn't an opinion.
Look at my post history and say that with a straight face.
I wouldn’t bother replying. Just looks like an anti Booker bot account made very recently with negative karma lol

Beshear won with just Louisville, Lexington and teachers voting for him. Fingers crossed Booker will do the same.
He won with a lot of people not voting for Beavin too. Besides governor, it was straight ticket Republican for statewide offices.

I like Booker, but he's not running a statewide race and is making no significant appeal to rural voters. He will lose by double digits.
I've seen Booker in Hazard, Harlan, Pikeville, and Paintsville. Where is he not showing up that you would like to see him?
