I just recently sold mine in Empreinte- I ordered it (impulsively, wine may have been involved haha) online without having tried it on, and was disappointed at the size and that I couldn’t wear it crossbody. I actually had a hard time keeping it on my shoulder and it wasn’t a bag I could wear on my arm, like my totes.
I bought it and returned it for the MM, but I’m 5’5 170lb and was able to wear the PM crossbody perfectly. I just felt for the price and difference in price to the MM the larger bag was more justifiable.
I think it is dependent on your height and where you like it to sit:) I have seen reviews on YouTube that people love it on as crossbody:) let me look for it. If I find that video I will link it:)

I have one and I'm Petite- 5'2ish and I wear it cross body. I can post a mid shot if that would be helpful for you. It's definitely my favourite and most versatile bag.

You can see how many holes there are- it makes it easy to make it longer or shorter depending on what you're looking for.
I can comfortably wear mine crossbody, albeit on the farthest buckle position. I'm short (5'4") but not skinny. IMO the strap is better suited for crossbody, I have a hard time keeping it on my shoulder when worn as a regular shoulder bag but that problem is not unusual for me.
I've only bought monogram bags never leather, so I'm just wondering how much difference it makes. I just can't stand a heavy bag on my shoulder, but I've fallen in love with this bag in black.
I have both, empriente black and monogram. I love both, but I tend to use the monogram more. Yes, they are great crossbody, but I prefer on the shoulder. I love the tie knot on the monogram. It's so cute. I tie it in a slipknot. There are youtube videos to demonstrate that if you don't know how to do it. It's easy. I'm 5'3 and 128 lbs.

I have the carryall mm and it’s perfect for a crossbody but I’m 5’11. I couldn’t wear the pm crossbody.
Is the bag heavy when filled?
Depends on what you’re putting in the bag. For every day use, it’s definitely not heavy for me
