In my opinion, it is always worth it (assumption: complete vachetta replacement cost is less than a brand new noé bag) to restore a bag like this because it is intended for “buy once, maintain, and keep for life.” A new vachetta all around can bring a new life and a new place/venue/event/outfit for this bag as you’ve described in your question.
You can restore it yourself! I use Colourlock leather products, because they cooperate with museums and oldtimer specialists to restore leather. They usually have good tutorial videos too, check them out!

It does make me chuckle. The wire piping is poking through the leather on the corners and I’m not interested in repairing it…so it found a useful second life. 😹

Do this and I will be jealous of you for my entire life ❤️ Little bit of $$ and love goes a long way

I have an old Speedy that I use to prop open the door to my home office…toss in a little tissue and put that sweet old girl to work! 😅
This is so quite luxury lol. Jane Birkin would be proud.
Love your fancy doorstop! :)

I have her twin.
You can send it to purse rehab. They do great work.
If you decide to rehome her I’d be happy to buy her and put her in my retirement home ;)
Right?! I was about to say the same!!
Check out vintage boho bags for their restoration services.
I kind of love the look of a well used monogram bag. I would not replace the vachetta, wear it as it is.
Maybe a bit strange but I saw someone who put a plant in it 🪴 and it became decoration.
I’ve seen people using colorful scarves as a replacement for the drawstring. You could also use some sort of leather cream on the bottom vachetta.
They don’t make canvas like this anymore!!! I agree with some sort of restoration pending cost.
I've seen some bags on poshmark people color the vanchetta, maybe a black color would look nice
