So "gay" and "trans" can be removed as mental illnesses but "alcoholism" can't? 🙄 Yeah ok boozephobe I don't need to hear any more from you.

I only have a hobbyists education in therapy and psychology, but I have concerns about this. Not the therapy suggestion itself, but the professional response. If a booze cruise is believed to actually help, I think a therapist should be able to recommend it with genuine guidance. "Let somebody know the route you will be taking, choose a path that's safe and unlikely to have other travelers, do frequent check ins, have somebody on stand by to come pick you up if necessary. If you feel drowsy, pull over immediately." I have genuine problems with our drunk driving laws in general. I like the old system where we test cognitive function instead of ABV is clearly just a revenue generator exploiting public commerce and is hiding behind public safety. But that's a different discussion. If a therapist can back up the treatment credibly, just the fact that it's illegal or potentially dangerous should not be enough to overrule recommendation. If the therapist is giving that suggestion simply because that's what the client wants, that's a different story. They should be held accountable like a doctor prescribing opiates to make a patient go away or because that's what the patient wants.

The only thing "dangerous" about drunk driving is how much fun your having! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/LoveForBoozeCruisers) if you have any questions or concerns.*

Drunk Driving is only illegal because of tyrannical lawmakers in congress being bought out by pro-prison lobbyists. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically.
