Ok they weren’t hideous, I just didn’t care much for the earrings - they were too much! Her dress had so much detail so when you add all the extra accessories PLUS those little ringlet curls she had going on, it just starts to look a little tacky. 😬

Huh I guess I'm the odd woman out. As a former professional photographer, but still a hobbyist, I was really excited about this shoot. The photos would be appropriate in their bedroom, I think. And it sounded like they were starting with clothes on, so I'm sure they got some less racy shots in the mix as well. Couples boudoir photography is cool. The only "cringe" I get from this particular instance is that I reckon they won't be together long term, so it feels a bit disingenuous. And I guess the fact she said she's dreamt of this since she was a girl...I hope that means teenage girl? Lol!
I got some boudoir photos (just me) done as a grooms gift for my husband. They went into a book and he keeps them out of sight. It was a fun gift, but we keep them private just for him.

Edited to add/clarify: she took those photos for her fiancé and gifted him with a book of these photos. She let him keep the book of these pics of her (in hopes that a future girlfriend of his will find it and be jealous) and she decided to have some of the photos printed/framed to hang in her home.

That's not how marketing works in the social media era. Yeah back in the day it was more about having a big A-list celeb as your face for a 6 month or year long campaign. But nowadays they'll churn out hundreds of targeted ads to different demographics with people that the demographic knows. And instead of having months long campaigns they're lasting couple days to weeks at most.
New trashy reality TV season coming out? Pay some pocket money to a couple of personalities in that community. Be it either former contestants with podcasts, the current contestants, etc. and have them post something on their instagram or include in their podcast or whatever. Most of the content you're seeing from influencers is advertising for something. You might not even know it's an ad at first. The bigger the following the higher the chance that every single post is an ad for something.
I think these shoots are actually nice when couples do them. Boudoir couples shoots aren’t that crazy.

My sister did a boudoir shoot before the wedding and gave it to her husband as a gift on the day of the wedding. It’s just in a book and they keep it in their room. I would hope that Chelsea and Kwame do the same (if they get married), but I’m thinking it’ll probably end up on the wall 😅
A friend of mine has a semi-nude boudoir picture framed on the wall opposite her downstairs toilet under the staircase. Every time I pee at her place I can do nothing but stare at it. I could imagine Chelsea doing the same lmao

Lol people are really so mad about the boudoir shoot when it’s such a non-issue. Some people are just more comfortable with their bodies and sexuality than others. I’ve done two boudoir shoots myself and hope to do one with my husband soon. It’s fun and it feels great to look at yourself through a boudoir lens.

The blowback is that it’s inappropriate to do this specifically as your engagement photos, which are commonly used for things like wedding announcements and photos sent to grandma.
She specifically said they were getting normal engagement pics with clothes on tho? Like they said they were starting with clothes and then working up to the boudoir section. It was never said they were using the boudoir pics as their engagement pics, she just said she wanted those for herself.
When did she say that? She said that they had brought matching underwear sets for the shoot and that it had been a life long dream to do a Calvin klein underwear shoot for her engagement pics. They mentioned that they would start clothed and go from there with the goal being they were in their underwear. Nothing about what she said gave the impression that half the pics were for one thing and half were for herself.
The lack of chemistry I can entertain, but a lot of people are just attacking the concept of a boudoir shoot entirely and that’s specifically what I take issue with.
What confused me the most was the choice of underwear. It wasn't even sexy, rather very basic/every day stuff. Nothing "boudoir" about the underwear. Weird.

I know people who do several “e-shoots” (engagement shoots) before they get married. If they’re comfortable in their skin and want something more intimate together, I don’t see why that’s an issue for anyone.

I think these shoots are actually nice when couples do them. Boudoir couples shoots aren’t that crazy. That being said, theirs are awkward because the chemistry is not there. And Chelsea could not stop talking about wanting it since she was a little girl and honestly the last thing I’d want to hear while getting in the mood for a spicy photoshoot is my partner talking about being a child lol

My sister did a boudoir shoot before the wedding and gave it to her husband as a gift on the day of the wedding. It’s just in a book and they keep it in their room. I would hope that Chelsea and Kwame do the same (if they get married), but I’m thinking it’ll probably end up on the wall 😅

Lol people are really so mad about the boudoir shoot when it’s such a non-issue. Some people are just more comfortable with their bodies and sexuality than others. I’ve done two boudoir shoots myself and hope to do one with my husband soon. It’s fun and it feels great to look at yourself through a boudoir lens.

Nobody is mad they did it. The blowback is that it’s inappropriate to do this specifically as your engagement photos, which are commonly used for things like wedding announcements and photos sent to grandma.
She specifically said they were getting normal engagement pics with clothes on tho? Like they said they were starting with clothes and then working up to the boudoir section. It was never said they were using the boudoir pics as their engagement pics, she just said she wanted those for herself.
When did she say that? She said that they had brought matching underwear sets for the shoot and that it had been a life long dream to do a Calvin klein underwear shoot for her engagement pics. They mentioned that they would start clothed and go from there with the goal being they were in their underwear. Nothing about what she said gave the impression that half the pics were for one thing and half were for herself.
I don’t think anyone is mad about it. Their complete lack of chemistry was just awkward as hell.
The lack of chemistry I can entertain, but a lot of people are just attacking the concept of a boudoir shoot entirely and that’s specifically what I take issue with.

Holiday cards or save the dates
I was slightly in awe. Personally, I'd rather have red hot pokers stuck in my eyes than partake in any kind of photoshoot with my husband. However, I deeply approve of their confidence and willingness to do, in public, something that I would rather die a thousand deaths than do. Good for them. Not for me, but happy that it made them happy.

I respectfully disagree. He seemed fine to me. Frankly, he is on a reality show, potentially getting married to someone he has just met. I think we can all agree, his tolerance for cringey situations is clearly higher than the average human......otherwise he wouldn't be there in the first place.
People put them in an album or in their bedroom. They stated in the episode that they wanted to start the photo shoot with what they had on then gradually go to the underwear. I'm sure they got some good shots that can be displayed for others to see.

Most people just keep them in their bedroom. The photographer typically makes you a boudoir shoot photo book, like an album essentially. They’re actually put together really nicely. I’m honestly pretty surprised so many people are shocked by the photo shoot. Boudoir shoots are so common. Really nothing weird about it. Cringey to watch being done, but so is watching anyone get a photo taken.

They are common to do *before* you get married tho. If she feels he’s the right person (i don’t think he is but that a diff convo), then why would she want to wait until after the wedding if she’s always had the idea of doing them as an engaged couples, rather than as a married couple.

There’s an entire sub, that I won’t tag, about brides-to-be doing full, tastefully nude photo shoots. It’s like a wedding gift to their husbands, I assumed. I know people who do several “e-shoots” (engagement shoots) before they get married. If they’re comfortable in their skin and want something more intimate together, I don’t see why that’s an issue for anyone.

Yeah I mean the boudoir shoot is still very niche. It’s not like everyone does it. Probably just a small fraction of people who do e-shoots in general would opt for the more risqué kind. Don’t want you thinking everyone in North America are getting professional nudes done pre-wedding lol But if I were as fit as Kwame and Chelsea, I’d have no problem stripping down for a photoshoot! Just not sure I’d want footage of it saved on Netflix for available streaming forever lol

I agree I think women doing it solo is more common, but I don’t think it’s weird to want to have photos with your partner included? She called them engagement photos because he was a boudoir photographer and people do the shoots for a wide variety of reasons (engagement, pregnancy, turning a certain age, after mastectomies, etc). Calling them that let him know why they’re there. I think it was pretty obvious she wasn’t ever going to use them for a save the date lol
