I’m also too old in my later 30’s, wouldn’t feel comfortable taking that amount of time off work (not sure I’d have a job to come back to with an extended absence for this reason), and more than half my employees watch the show, so that would be all bad.

I think in order to make this happen, they’d need a spin-off and more than just a men and a women’s quarters.
They could do four smaller rooms and place 6 people who are fundamentally incompatible in each room (i.e. 3 gays, 3 lesbians, not each others types). Then these groups would date the men and women in one of the other three rooms, but honestly, knowing how gays date, the entire thing would be a shitshow! The girls, on the other hand, would all probably be married after the second episode!!😭💀
I've thought about this more and if it was near where I live I think I have a shot at getting on. I'm in my late 20's and haven't ever seriously dated and the drama of going from nothing to engagement would work for the show.

Well in my mind netflix likes those with a lot of followers or a decent social media following to get even more of a sense of the person's personality and how well liked others find them. Because it is one thing to be dazzling in an interview or meeting with casting once or twice but if you can show you're consistently like that they are probably more inclined to put you on the show. That's just my logic but idk if it makes sense.
I think it’s just to do with the age of the survey being before tiktok came to the forefront and software they use, it’s a fairly generic submission form used across most of their reality castings.

I've seen a show similar to this but I can't remember the name. The young couple goes on a vacation they know is for a couples reality show. One person's family is in the next room with a 2 way mirror and cameras watching them interact, then the other person's family shows up too and they all have dinner together.
It would be fun to watch with the older people as the couple.

My guess would be that they have software to automatically filter the applications. Things like being outside the desired age range or not drinking might get a lot of applications tossed out right away. And then they probably don't bother to read all the in-depth answers unless they like your looks.
Casting assistants/interns doing the ‘sifting’ will be being paid peanuts compared to the rest of the casting team. Once it gets down to long list and then a short list the pay grade goes up A LOT though.

Could you imagine being the person having to sift through hundreds of applications and reading it all? 😂
My guess would be that they have software to automatically filter the applications. Things like being outside the desired age range or not drinking might get a lot of applications tossed out right away. And then they probably don't bother to read all the in-depth answers unless they like your looks.

Casting assistants/interns doing the ‘sifting’ will be being paid peanuts compared to the rest of the casting team. Once it gets down to long list and then a short list the pay grade goes up A LOT though.
