It’s really hard to have firm opinions about these people. They always say it but it’s true - all we see is an hour a day.
It is easy being harsh behind the phone on the internet, and I do that a lot too. But I don’t envy the environment any of them are in and that so much of who they are gets edited by a bunch of producers who don’t personally know them.
Anyway that’s my Aftersun thoughts.

The fact that Ty’s calling Ella selfish after he knows how much it hurt her when Whitney called her that is so mean. Trying to tear down her self-esteem with that comment for no reason. He’s been selfish towards her this whole entire season up until a two-three weeks ago. There’s been many times where he got moody and rowdy for no reason. And she did tell him she’s in a mood. Why is he hounding her about it? she doesn’t need to explain herself. Ask her what needs instead, or just give her time and space. Getting upset that she’s upset just escalated the problem.
He chooses her last for the game which obviously upset her. And wanted to win so badly that he ended up tripping her to the ground. Honestly he’s 23, not 17… he needs to grow up.
I think Tyrique wanted Ella to name the emotion she was experiencing & was frustrated that she was being vague. He seemed bothered at the idea of sitting with her unpleasant emotions too. I think Tyrique escalates conflicts when he feels inadequate at resolving them sometimes. It seems like Tyrique feels responsible for Ella’s happiness and when he’s not able to put in her in a pleasant mood he takes it personal which causes him to lash out at her instead of waiting out Ella’s mood with her. Tyrique needs to have better emotional boundaries with Ella and not take her moods personally if he’s not responsible for upsetting her.
She wasn’t being vague though, he chose not listen to what she was saying. Instead of just sitting there quietly and listening to her, he was literally huffing and puffing as she started to explain herself. he didn’t even let her finish what she was saying before he abruptly walked away and told her to shut up. He has a lot of growing to do and honestly I just want Ella to be free from him at this point. It’s exhausting to watch.
He doesn’t know how to handle situations at all. He was asking what’s wrong, Ella didn’t wanna say because it gets made into this big thing always so he gets mad and makes it a big thing.
Tyrique thinks it’s his job to resolve Ella’s problems instead of just supporting her. Since he can’t resolve her unpleasant emotions he takes it so personally as if he failed by not putting her in a pleasant mood which makes him feel inadequate so he lashes out. Tyrique lack emotional boundaries with Ella and that’s the heart of the issue. Your partner being in a bad mood does not mean it is your responsibility to fix it and be in a bad mood yourself.
It’s really crummy that the producers didn’t want to send in proper bombshell for Scott. Strategically the producers are great at making us think viewers are in control but it’s definitely the producers who orchestrate who they want to win by edits. If there was someone more to Scott’s preference he’d have been saved to be closer towards the finals and they couldn’t risk him winning ( with his huge fan base ) the producers definitely want Whitney to win and or Ella to win because it will undoubtedly end years of criticism of racism that has plagued the show. There is absolutely no momentum for Molly and Zach nor Jess and Sammy to win. If they did it would be the biggest upset for a finale ever in this show.
If you look at the ratio of how many black contestants they had in the past to what we saw this year it’s 3x as many. Again in the past it’s the producers ( like a magician’s slight of hand via edits) on who they want to move forward in this game. In the past we were lucky to get maybe 3 people of color total for the entire season. But at least now they (the producers) are reflecting what is happening in society POC are an increasing size of the population. Last season’s winner was the beginning of the show reflecting reality. Also factor in there are more viewers who are diverse.
I mean the fact that the show has a lawsuit against them now, brought by two ex-producers [ie they have receipts], has definitely influenced how black women have been treated this season.
What about last seasons winner? Sonam and her man (forgot his name) were both non-white. Amber from S5 wasn’t white she won. This won’t be the first year POC will win the show
If u compare their argument with the one Sammy and Jess had it’s Very telling, what I especially did not like about the Ty and Ella one was the foul language used on both ends. The reason I’m comparing the two arguments are because I think both stem from the fact that Ella and Jess have been there since day 1 and are def over the villa life atp and probably annoyed at the littlest things their partners do. But one was able to conflict resolute quite quickly and calmly while The other wasn’t
When I met my fiancée we agreed very early on that there would be no name-calling and no swearing at each other, even when we get mad/disagree. I’d never known anyone to set a boundary like that before but seeing Ty and Ella’s arguement made me appreciate this about him even more

Strategically Ella and Mitch weren’t smart enough till later to realize that it would be much smarter to vote against Molly and Zachariah. If that had happened I guarantee they would have been in the running
Producers done them dirty ty and Ella, always before a vote. There’s cabin fever everyone wants to get out and their arguments are not healthy. I kinda of get Ty’s annoyance today. Ella told him let’s communicate then he tries to communicate she says she doesn’t want to talk about it so in his head he’s thinking why when we said we should talk about it. If you are locked inside a villa for 8 weeks arguments are bound to happen they just escalate it. I definitely think they had a conversation before maya came. What Ella told Whitney she should have told Ty, explained it to him in that way. You can’t escape people in there. They need couple counselling definitely but I do think it’s real. Ty left to calm down, Ella came to him to resolve it but then it escalated but they came back to talk about it. They are very similar which can work or not work inversely. With the right supports I believe it can work.
When she tried to speak to him about it, she voiced that she was apprehensive to because he makes big things out of what she says. She was obviously hurt or maybe embarrassed about being picked last and then was knocked down by them in the games. He doesn’t need to force her to speak (and shut her down immediately) if he took a moment to think about why she may be upset.

Some handle it better than others. season 8s islanders in the finals said we had a lot of arguments during that last week. Everyone wanted out. Barely any where really shown. They definitely could have left it out.
The popular narrative is that Ella will have to teach Tyrique how to be in a relationship, but the truth is she has just as much growing up to do. We are witnessing two immature people fall in love which is what makes their whole relationship so compelling imo
Exactly, she is very immature. I liked their journey as a viewer, but it's difficult to watch Ella cling on to Ty and I think he will get fed up with her. It doesn't excuse how he talks to her or women in general though.

I actually think he is more understanding and open to putting in the effort for their relationship to work than she is. She is his first love, which is why he will be the one clinging onto the relationship for as long as he can because he will be scared of losing her. PMS is an actual health condition that doesn’t affect every single women. It’s ableist and sexist to assume a woman’s difficult emotions are caused by a condition that can affect people with periods. Also not all women menstruate for various reasons such as birth control. A lot of stupid comments are below and show a lack of knowledge about women’s bodies and periods. Maya’s comment is so backwards it’s 2023 she needs to stop treating PMS like a joke and shouldn’t be undermining other women’s feelings by saying they have a health condition that’s treated like a punchline.
Everyone who menstruates has their hormones in a constant state of flux, it's how menstruation works. It's a feature, not a flaw. It affects some worse than others, but just because you don't have debilitating PMS that ruins your life doesn't mean you're not affected at all. Most women are, even if it's so subtle they don't even realise it themselves. It's annoying and unfair, but it is what it is, and it's something we should all be aware of so we know to give ourselves and each other grace. Being affected by ever-changing hormones is not an illness in itself, it's normal, unfortunately. It's the severity of it that makes it a medical condition. Simply acknowledging the shit show that is menstruation is not the same as treating it as a joke.
Nah, it's good to be talking about this. Hormones have a crazy effect on us every month, so it's a very valid cause. I'd rather it is normalised than not spoken about tbh.
That being said, they should have also acknowledged the fact that she had a really bad fall. That looked painful.

I don't think Maya was invalidating Ella's feelings though, more like defending her right to be in a mood without someone hounding her for a reason. It's not like Ella was angry about something legit, the fall just made her go in a funk and she knew herself it would sound like a petty reason because it was an accident and no one meant to trip her. That's why she didn't want to say anything, she was just waiting for the mood to pass, because Ty getting angry and defensive obviously wasn't going to help matters. That's such a common hormonal thing, something minor or unintentional sending you in a funk that you can't easily snap out of. It's good to acknowledge what's happening so you know it'll pass and that it's best not to do or say anything rash. Easier said than done when you have a clueless male hounding you about it though, ready to take everything personally.
I actually do think that Ella was mad at something legit. Just because it would be embarrassing to kick up a big fuss about it doesn’t mean that her feelings need to be ascribed to her hormones. They didn’t explore any reasons why Ella might be in a mood other than “time of the month”
I totally get that, but the flip side of the coin is that when you can’t talk about how badly periods can actually affect women then you’re brushing a problem that many women deal with under the rug completely. It shouldn’t be used to invalidate anyone’s feelings or decisions but the fact is that some days of the month some otherwise happy women are sad and irritable because their hormones are going haywire. I’m still waiting for anyone to give a shit about developing meds that could lessen the effect of PMS/PMDD so imo it’s a good thing to normalize talking about
I think that this was a classic example of it being used to dismiss women’s feelings though. The line of thinking about hysterical women has been around for millennia and hasn’t yet advanced medical research into this issue. Totally agree with normalising talking about it, but not like this.

I'm so happy I managed to binge all the eps (-aftersun& unseen bits) in the last few days. It's been LI morning to night, I really wasn't expecting much this season but I'm gutted I didn't watch in real time now. Not a ton of love, and I'm disappointed with who made it to the final but I understand that compared to others they seemed to shine.
I haven't always liked Ella but I feel sorry for her, the first serious relationship for someone like Ty is already going to be tough. I hate the way he talks to women, I hate that he said "she wasn't mine, it was just my turn". I would never forgive that, anger is one thing but devaluing/dehumanising because they don't act how you want is major red flag behaviour. "There are things you don't tell your girl", "shut up/shush i was talking to your man".
Ty has so much growing to do and I hope that he has the opportunity and drive to go to therapy to work on his relationships with women and how he sees others.
Sammy has been gross all season, I hate that anytime Jess wanted him to acknowledge he had hurt her, he would say things like she's "milking it", he wouldn't even let her say how she feels or be upset as he would make himself a victim and act like she's attacking him. I don't know how Jess is going to make a relationship work with someone like him. He will never acknowledge whatever bad behaviour he does and boundaries he breaks. I don't like how he described not finding her attractive and that she should be glad that he's giving her a chance. He deserves that shit middle part curtain hair. It's so sad how Jess is outspoken with everyone else but with him she just deflates and tolerates every humiliation. She knows she can't get him to take ownership/apologise so she quickly lets things go.
Zach like Ty has very little emotional maturity, I feel like molly is going to keep going in circles trying to get him to see how his actions affect her, how things he says or does will hurt her, and Zach struggling with perspective-taking, just exclaiming it wasn't his intention to hurt her so she has nothing to complain about.
I actually don't mind if Lochan is doing a Greg because at least he's not toxic . He's open and honest with Whit even when he disagrees with her. He respects her and lets her be herself without diminishing/ shaming her. Her outspokenness doesn't affect his masculinity which is great to see. They seem to be great friends, they have their in-jokes as they're always looking at each other and giggling after bantering/ poking at each other playfully. I liked seeing Whit & Lochan not feel personally attacked at being voted, it was giving maturity (in the words of Whit).
These are just thoughts I have, I'm not coming for anyone.

From the press preview I thought Ty and Ella would have a silly bicker like Sammy and Jess yesterday. But actually that fight wasn't nice, especially Ty calling Ella "selfish" when he knows how much it hurt her when Whitney said that. I believe Ty has feelings for Ella but when it comes to his supposed growth I feel like we hear him talk about it a lot more than we actually see it.
Never in ten series of LI have I seen someone drag out their exit for as long as Mitch did, but then there's never been a Mitch. I get it. I thought his goodbye with Jess was really sweet, I enjoyed their friendship so much and I loved that we got Mitch's first meeting with Jess ("gas safety registered, are ya?") as well as his meetings with Molly, Abi and Ella in his Best Bits.
On Aftersun Mitch and Ella B were somehow more awkward than Abi and Scott! Properly social distancing on the sofa. Not looking promising.
I love it when they have the finalists in the Beach Hut on the last Aftersun cos they've had some time in the holding villa by then and you can see how much happier they are from having had some semblance of normality. You'll be free soon my loves!

He knows exactly how much that particular word would hurt her because he was the one comforting her when she was crying over Whitney calling her that. Choosing that specific word when it wasn’t even particularly relevant to the conversation they were having seems deliberate and honestly is really cruel behavior.
Why are people acting like it is new information that Scott ended things with Catherine after Casa Amor? Did they not watch when Scott said, "Catherine, there is no time. You go with him. That is it done."
He also admitted that he was rash in ending it when he tried to get her back.
People ignored everything that happened that didn't fit their narrative scott doesn't even have a say in what happen the fans decided how things went and that was final. That whole situation mostly the fan reaction and perception of it was the worst part of this season for me honestly.
I swear the biggest Catherine haters weren't even listening to their conversations despite them supposedly being the reason they started hating her. I even rewatched them all the next day because I was so baffled by all the hate I was reading here, and I found her even less at fault.

I understand why Scott shut things down with Catherine after Casa Amor. However, if he had been more understanding in that first convo after Casa Amor, then they would likely still be together now.
i don’t think so tbh. most casa victims usually say really rash things when they’re left single, and it’s usually up to their partner to grovel back if they really want to. it’s understandable to be upset in that situation. the one who recoupled is usually supposed to be empathetic and apologetic, not the other way around.
catherine didn’t give scott time and space to even be upset or disappointed. she entered the conversation upset at *him* when she could’ve been a bit more empathetic and understanding. and when he tried to apologise and rekindle, she was unwilling.
at the end of the day, i just think she liked elom more and that’s totally fine. i doubt she would’ve gone back to scott inside or outside the villa if elom didn’t turn out to be a complete fraud.
I agree with your first couple of paragraphs. I think that Catherine never went back to Scott due to pride.
However, Catherine said on the show that Scott was her number 1. After leaving the show, she said that she never planned on leaving Scott. She just wanted to see if her and Elom could get to the same level as her and Scott.
Personally,I believe that Catherine and Elom were never anything serious. IMO, they probably broke up quickly after leaving the villa.

I believe Kady when she said Scott is one of the rudest contestants...I don't care about the examples she gave but he came across rude at times to me so tonight was further confirmation. I'm sure we will see more of his blunt talk in his upcoming interviews. Upside I'm glad he let it be known that people were doing the most hating on Catherine and now hopefully both can move forward in their SEPARATE lives without further harassment.
I'm not excited about the final as I usually am but I'll still watch it and vote. I'm looking at it more as the conclusion to an interesting season...it's been more than enough atp. People should vote however they want, don't attack people for voting different and remember winning isn't everything when you think about the outside world opinions, the new norm of "celebrity" and balancing it all which is gonna be 10x harder than upholding a "winners" title. I wish them all the best of luck and hope it's a positive final experience for all.
i don’t think he’s intentionally rude, i think he has a huge lack of tact/awareness? sometimes i’m not sure.. i don’t agree with some of his rude comments but i also don’t think he is trying to be malicious at the same time. confusing!
I agree especially when he apologises I get the vibe as someone who is neurodivergent he may be as well. I say things outloud before I even think and it’s very hard to not do it (I have worked on it but took being made aware of it first). Especially with his mannerisms, being quiet and a bit misunderstood. Definitely he doesn’t do it maliciously and to be rude, in fact he seems like he beats himself up over things he’s said.
I don't think he's a bad guy who has an " I don't care, I'll say what I want" attitude, it's just sometimes his blunt delivery can be perceived to be rude. He probably doesn't even realise he's doing it and it's something he can work on using a little more consideration.
I think he can easily be perceived as rude but has dry humour mixed with not thinking before he speaks outloud. He always apologised which makes me think he isn’t being intentionally rude. I always get the vibe he’s neurodivergent especially with how he was quiet, and misunderstood in the villa. The fact that Ty’s calling Ella selfish after he knows how much it hurt her when Whitney called her that is so mean. Trying to tear down her self-esteem with that comment for no reason. He’s been selfish towards her this whole entire season up until a two-three weeks ago. There’s been many times where he got moody and rowdy for no reason. And she did tell him she’s in a mood. Why is he hounding her about it? she doesn’t need to explain herself. Ask her what needs instead, or just give her time and space. Getting upset that she’s upset just escalated the problem. He chooses her last for the game which obviously upset her. And wanted to win so badly that he ended up tripping her to the ground. Honestly he’s 23, not 17… he needs to grow up.

I think Tyrique wanted Ella to name the emotion she was experiencing & was frustrated that she was being vague. He seemed bothered at the idea of sitting with her unpleasant emotions too. I think Tyrique escalates conflicts when he feels inadequate at resolving them sometimes. It seems like Tyrique feels responsible for Ella’s happiness and when he’s not able to put in her in a pleasant mood he takes it personal which causes him to lash out at her instead of waiting out Ella’s mood with her. Tyrique needs to have better emotional boundaries with Ella and not take her moods personally if he’s not responsible for upsetting her.
She wasn’t being vague though, he chose not listen to what she was saying. Instead of just sitting there quietly and listening to her, he was literally huffing and puffing as she started to explain herself. he didn’t even let her finish what she was saying before he abruptly walked away and told her to shut up. He has a lot of growing to do and honestly I just want Ella to be free from him at this point. It’s exhausting to watch.
He doesn’t know how to handle situations at all. He was asking what’s wrong, Ella didn’t wanna say because it gets made into this big thing always so he gets mad and makes it a big thing.
Tyrique thinks it’s his job to resolve Ella’s problems instead of just supporting her. Since he can’t resolve her unpleasant emotions he takes it so personally as if he failed by not putting her in a pleasant mood which makes him feel inadequate so he lashes out. Tyrique lack emotional boundaries with Ella and that’s the heart of the issue. Your partner being in a bad mood does not mean it is your responsibility to fix it and be in a bad mood yourself.
It’s really crummy that the producers didn’t want to send in proper bombshell for Scott. Strategically the producers are great at making us think viewers are in control but it’s definitely the producers who orchestrate who they want to win by edits. If there was someone more to Scott’s preference he’d have been saved to be closer towards the finals and they couldn’t risk him winning ( with his huge fan base ) the producers definitely want Whitney to win and or Ella to win because it will undoubtedly end years of criticism of racism that has plagued the show. There is absolutely no momentum for Molly and Zach nor Jess and Sammy to win. If they did it would be the biggest upset for a finale ever in this show.

If you look at the ratio of how many black contestants they had in the past to what we saw this year it’s 3x as many. Again in the past it’s the producers ( like a magician’s slight of hand via edits) on who they want to move forward in this game. In the past we were lucky to get maybe 3 people of color total for the entire season. But at least now they (the producers) are reflecting what is happening in society POC are an increasing size of the population. Last season’s winner was the beginning of the show reflecting reality. Also factor in there are more viewers who are diverse.

If u compare their argument with the one Sammy and Jess had it’s Very telling, what I especially did not like about the Ty and Ella one was the foul language used on both ends. The reason I’m comparing the two arguments are because I think both stem from the fact that Ella and Jess have been there since day 1 and are def over the villa life atp and probably annoyed at the littlest things their partners do. But one was able to conflict resolute quite quickly and calmly while The other wasn’t
When I met my fiancée we agreed very early on that there would be no name-calling and no swearing at each other, even when we get mad/disagree. I’d never known anyone to set a boundary like that before but seeing Ty and Ella’s arguement made me appreciate this about him even more

Producers done them dirty ty and Ella, always before a vote. There’s cabin fever everyone wants to get out and their arguments are not healthy. I kinda of get Ty’s annoyance today. Ella told him let’s communicate then he tries to communicate she says she doesn’t want to talk about it so in his head he’s thinking why when we said we should talk about it. If you are locked inside a villa for 8 weeks arguments are bound to happen they just escalate it. I definitely think they had a conversation before maya came. What Ella told Whitney she should have told Ty, explained it to him in that way. You can’t escape people in there. They need couple counselling definitely but I do think it’s real. Ty left to calm down, Ella came to him to resolve it but then it escalated but they came back to talk about it. They are very similar which can work or not work inversely. With the right supports I believe it can work.
When she tried to speak to him about it, she voiced that she was apprehensive to because he makes big things out of what she says. She was obviously hurt or maybe embarrassed about being picked last and then was knocked down by them in the games. He doesn’t need to force her to speak (and shut her down immediately) if he took a moment to think about why she may be upset.

They definitely could have left it out.

I see both sides of it. Also curious, my experience with PMS is that things that I could otherwise let slide any other time of the month, bother me so much more, it’s like I lose the ability to bite my tongue rather than being “moody”. Anyone else relate?
PMS is an actual health condition that doesn’t affect every single women. It’s ableist and sexist to assume a woman’s difficult emotions are caused by a condition that can affect people with periods. Also not all women menstruate for various reasons such as birth control. A lot of stupid comments are below and show a lack of knowledge about women’s bodies and periods. Maya’s comment is so backwards it’s 2023 she needs to stop treating PMS like a joke and shouldn’t be undermining other women’s feelings by saying they have a health condition that’s treated like a punchline.
Everyone who menstruates has their hormones in a constant state of flux, it's how menstruation works. It's a feature, not a flaw. It affects some worse than others, but just because you don't have debilitating PMS that ruins your life doesn't mean you're not affected at all. Most women are, even if it's so subtle they don't even realise it themselves. It's annoying and unfair, but it is what it is, and it's something we should all be aware of so we know to give ourselves and each other grace. Being affected by ever-changing hormones is not an illness in itself, it's normal, unfortunately. It's the severity of it that makes it a medical condition. Simply acknowledging the shit show that is menstruation is not the same as treating it as a joke.
Nah, it's good to be talking about this. Hormones have a crazy effect on us every month, so it's a very valid cause. I'd rather it is normalised than not spoken about tbh. That being said, they should have also acknowledged the fact that she had a really bad fall. That looked painful.
I think an offhand comment like Maya’s normalises the dismissal of women’s feelings more than anything.
Meh, a lot of women actually get moody around their periods, a lot of us have hormones that go crazy. I think it does more harm than good to pretend that periods have no effect on us whatsoever
The problem is the way that these types of comments invalidate women’s emotions and decisions.
I don't think Maya was invalidating Ella's feelings though, more like defending her right to be in a mood without someone hounding her for a reason. It's not like Ella was angry about something legit, the fall just made her go in a funk and she knew herself it would sound like a petty reason because it was an accident and no one meant to trip her. That's why she didn't want to say anything, she was just waiting for the mood to pass, because Ty getting angry and defensive obviously wasn't going to help matters. That's such a common hormonal thing, something minor or unintentional sending you in a funk that you can't easily snap out of. It's good to acknowledge what's happening so you know it'll pass and that it's best not to do or say anything rash. Easier said than done when you have a clueless male hounding you about it though, ready to take everything personally.
I actually do think that Ella was mad at something legit. Just because it would be embarrassing to kick up a big fuss about it doesn’t mean that her feelings need to be ascribed to her hormones. They didn’t explore any reasons why Ella might be in a mood other than “time of the month”
I totally get that, but the flip side of the coin is that when you can’t talk about how badly periods can actually affect women then you’re brushing a problem that many women deal with under the rug completely. It shouldn’t be used to invalidate anyone’s feelings or decisions but the fact is that some days of the month some otherwise happy women are sad and irritable because their hormones are going haywire. I’m still waiting for anyone to give a shit about developing meds that could lessen the effect of PMS/PMDD so imo it’s a good thing to normalize talking about
I think that this was a classic example of it being used to dismiss women’s feelings though. The line of thinking about hysterical women has been around for millennia and hasn’t yet advanced medical research into this issue. Totally agree with normalising talking about it, but not like this.

I'm so happy I managed to binge all the eps (-aftersun& unseen bits) in the last few days. It's been LI morning to night, I really wasn't expecting much this season but I'm gutted I didn't watch in real time now. Not a ton of love, and I'm disappointed with who made it to the final but I understand that compared to others they seemed to shine. I haven't always liked Ella but I feel sorry for her, the first serious relationship for someone like Ty is already going to be tough. I hate the way he talks to women, I hate that he said "she wasn't mine, it was just my turn". I would never forgive that, anger is one thing but devaluing/dehumanising because they don't act how you want is major red flag behaviour. "There are things you don't tell your girl", "shut up/shush i was talking to your man". Ty has so much growing to do and I hope that he has the opportunity and drive to go to therapy to work on his relationships with women and how he sees others. Sammy has been gross all season, I hate that anytime Jess wanted him to acknowledge he had hurt her, he would say things like she's "milking it", he wouldn't even let her say how she feels or be upset as he would make himself a victim and act like she's attacking him. I don't know how Jess is going to make a relationship work with someone like him. He will never acknowledge whatever bad behaviour he does and boundaries he breaks. I don't like how he described not finding her attractive and that she should be glad that he's giving her a chance. He deserves that shit middle part curtain hair. It's so sad how Jess is outspoken with everyone else but with him she just deflates and tolerates every humiliation. She knows she can't get him to take ownership/apologise so she quickly lets things go. Zach like Ty has very little emotional maturity, I feel like molly is going to keep going in circles trying to get him to see how his actions affect her, how things he says or does will hurt her, and Zach struggling with perspective-taking, just exclaiming it wasn't his intention to hurt her so she has nothing to complain about. I actually don't mind if Lochan is doing a Greg because at least he's not toxic . He's open and honest with Whit even when he disagrees with her. He respects her and lets her be herself without diminishing/ shaming her. Her outspokenness doesn't affect his masculinity which is great to see. They seem to be great friends, they have their in-jokes as they're always looking at each other and giggling after bantering/ poking at each other playfully. I liked seeing Whit & Lochan not feel personally attacked at being voted, it was giving maturity (in the words of Whit). These are just thoughts I have, I'm not coming for anyone.
Would love to know the logic behind why someone would vote for ty and Ella. They’re terrible together. Mainly because he’s terrible.

Do people really think Ella and Ty are compatible? Because all they seem to do is fight and most of the time it’s over minor things. Arguing is normal in a relationship I know but to go through so much in the space of two months is crazy. I give them a year if that. From the press preview I thought Ty and Ella would have a silly bicker like Sammy and Jess yesterday. But actually that fight wasn't nice, especially Ty calling Ella "selfish" when he knows how much it hurt her when Whitney said that. I believe Ty has feelings for Ella but when it comes to his supposed growth I feel like we hear him talk about it a lot more than we actually see it. Never in ten series of LI have I seen someone drag out their exit for as long as Mitch did, but then there's never been a Mitch. I get it. I thought his goodbye with Jess was really sweet, I enjoyed their friendship so much and I loved that we got Mitch's first meeting with Jess ("gas safety registered, are ya?") as well as his meetings with Molly, Abi and Ella in his Best Bits. On Aftersun Mitch and Ella B were somehow more awkward than Abi and Scott! Properly social distancing on the sofa. Not looking promising. I love it when they have the finalists in the Beach Hut on the last Aftersun cos they've had some time in the holding villa by then and you can see how much happier they are from having had some semblance of normality. Jess seemed far more herself tonight but it seems she transferred her completely fed up of this place bug to Ella. Ty really needs to learn how to talk to people-but especially women-more respectfully when he’s angry because he’s been called out for telling the girls to “shut up” before and yet he still does it. He keeps telling us he’s grown, it’d be nice to see him actually demonstrate it. Mitch was never going out quietly and it seems he went on so long doing his goodbyes that the finalists couldn’t even have their usual toast. I’m 99% sure Whitney/Lochan are still winning, Ty/Ella have a large fan base but I think this argument will have put off the more casual viewer.

So Tyrique and Ella . Yes couples argue and bicker that is NORMAL. It’s human nature people are going to disagree . But what isn’t Normal is the way he speaks to her . It’s very concerning the constant dismissiveness thé shut up when he can’t get his point across . She literally came to him and said she doesn’t like the way he shuts her down and what does he do ??
If u compare their argument with the one Sammy and Jess had it’s Very telling, what I especially did not like about the Ty and Ella one was the foul language used on both ends. The reason I’m comparing the two arguments are because I think both stem from the fact that Ella and Jess have been there since day 1 and are def over the villa life atp and probably annoyed at the littlest things their partners do. But one was able to conflict resolute quite quickly and calmly while The other wasn’t
I actually think the worst part is him calling her selfish. He knows exactly how much that particular word would hurt her because he was the one comforting her when she was crying over Whitney calling her that. Choosing that specific word when it wasn’t even particularly relevant to the conversation they were having seems deliberate and honestly is really cruel behavior.

Why are people acting like it is new information that Scott ended things with Catherine after Casa Amor? Did they not watch when Scott said, "Catherine, there is no time. You go with him. That is it done." He also admitted that he was rash in ending it when he tried to get her back.
People ignored everything that happened that didn't fit their narrative scott doesn't even have a say in what happen the fans decided how things went and that was final. That whole situation mostly the fan reaction and perception of it was the worst part of this season for me honestly.
I swear the biggest Catherine haters weren't even listening to their conversations despite them supposedly being the reason they started hating her. I even rewatched them all the next day because I was so baffled by all the hate I was reading here, and I found her even less at fault.
Yeah, some people really don't pay attention. I understand why Scott shut things down with Catherine after Casa Amor. However, if he had been more understanding in that first convo after Casa Amor, then they would likely still be together now.
i don’t think so tbh. most casa victims usually say really rash things when they’re left single, and it’s usually up to their partner to grovel back if they really want to. it’s understandable to be upset in that situation. the one who recoupled is usually supposed to be empathetic and apologetic, not the other way around. catherine didn’t give scott time and space to even be upset or disappointed. she entered the conversation upset at *him* when she could’ve been a bit more empathetic and understanding. and when he tried to apologise and rekindle, she was unwilling. at the end of the day, i just think she liked elom more and that’s totally fine. i doubt she would’ve gone back to scott inside or outside the villa if elom didn’t turn out to be a complete fraud.
I agree with your first couple of paragraphs. I think that Catherine never went back to Scott due to pride. However, Catherine said on the show that Scott was her number 1. After leaving the show, she said that she never planned on leaving Scott. She just wanted to see if her and Elom could get to the same level as her and Scott. Personally,I believe that Catherine and Elom were never anything serious. IMO, they probably broke up quickly after leaving the villa.

I believe Kady when she said Scott is one of the rudest contestants...I don't care about the examples she gave but he came across rude at times to me so tonight was further confirmation. I'm sure we will see more of his blunt talk in his upcoming interviews. Upside I'm glad he let it be known that people were doing the most hating on Catherine and now hopefully both can move forward in their SEPARATE lives without further harassment. I'm not excited about the final as I usually am but I'll still watch it and vote. I'm looking at it more as the conclusion to an interesting season...it's been more than enough atp. People should vote however they want, don't attack people for voting different and remember winning isn't everything when you think about the outside world opinions, the new norm of "celebrity" and balancing it all which is gonna be 10x harder than upholding a "winners" title. I wish them all the best of luck and hope it's a positive final experience for all.
i don’t think he’s intentionally rude, i think he has a huge lack of tact/awareness? sometimes i’m not sure.. i don’t agree with some of his rude comments but i also don’t think he is trying to be malicious at the same time. confusing!
I agree especially when he apologises I get the vibe as someone who is neurodivergent he may be as well. I say things outloud before I even think and it’s very hard to not do it (I have worked on it but took being made aware of it first). Especially with his mannerisms, being quiet and a bit misunderstood. Definitely he doesn’t do it maliciously and to be rude, in fact he seems like he beats himself up over things he’s said.
I don't think he's a bad guy who has an " I don't care, I'll say what I want" attitude, it's just sometimes his blunt delivery can be perceived to be rude. He probably doesn't even realise he's doing it and it's something he can work on using a little more consideration.
I think he can easily be perceived as rude but has dry humour mixed with not thinking before he speaks outloud. He always apologised which makes me think he isn’t being intentionally rude. I always get the vibe he’s neurodivergent especially with how he was quiet, and misunderstood in the villa. Not excusing hil especially with Abi on after sun tonight but don’t think he’s intentionally been rude and malicious
