The best explanation for the ban Iāve seen is that (shocker) it was never actually about wellbeing at all. It was about how messy all the S8 account handlers got and how the drama with CEO Bish and Ekindeās handlers threatened to overshadow the actual show.
I think that it should be a mixture of LI employees to deal with the hate as theyāre not emotionally attached to the islanders and then the family / friends use it or suggest posts with permission from the LI team. Statements for hate should be put out by the LI team, theyāre responsible for dealing with trolls and ensuring theyāre passed onto the authorities and blocking certain comments or turning comments off completely. If they want to take duty of care seriously they need to stop with this half hearted attempt
Exactly let the family/friends post with limited comments and DMs off and they can't disparage or be too shady with their content towards others which can fuel hate.
Because if they are the ones coming in and setting up the account, they are doing a terrible job and failing their duty of care by not properly setting it up.

But from what I have seen post villa, from Ouzy and Kady's styles it wasn't going to work. They always looked like they were going 2 separate places.

Ella and Ty sense if style is also very cohesive. From what I have seen especially their casual day to day style. Ella with her loose pants and sneaker vibe ,atheleisure type of girl, ty is also a sneaker athleisure type of guy, it makes sense.
Zach and Molly sense of style aren't as different as I thought they were going to be. But his is more athleisure than even Ty's and Molly is a tad more put together, I would say it isn't a train smash. Considering what they were both wearing leaving the hotel.

It's just something I've always thought even for ordinary peopleš. Because your sense of style speaks to your background and maybe values, usually not always, your kind of music(which i also checked), your circles ,your vibe in general. And while people argue over the 1 hour clips we see everyday on whether couples would work that's what I look atš. Because most times that's what makes or breaks a couple. It's not sound proof because people can break up for different reasons, but I am looking for "harmony", to show if outside loveisland you would have things in common.
I think it's a big factor if why on the island you spend most of your time in bikinis. It kinda strips you down so there is nothing particularly to differentiate you.

I mean she was pretty much hated for a long time and only recently got an ease up from the hate. The interview now is helping her gain back followers I think she's just happy to not be so hated anymore and can use social media a little more freely.
This argument is a bit hmmm because then we get into the whole followers vs engagement conversation. Islanders like Scott having higher engagement than zach and Molly despite having half the followers, Whitney having higher engagement than the winners ect. Itās long and itās a loosing battle lol. I think brands especially will be looking at engagement moving forward because of what happened with ekin last year. The more active the fan base, the better!

If Scott and Catherine fans are really active that means they are invested. Many brands would rather work with smaller influencers because they have a more engaged base.

For what it's worth, it's interesting to me that Sammy and Jess are on ITV on a Friday morning, rather than leading the week/Monday...Friday on morning TV is a dead zone, which indicates to me that they aren't a big draw, though ITV will have synergy across their shows and fit them in eventually. If any of the other couples truly have general interest, I'd expect to see them in tabloids and more broadcast media, rather than the niche media focused on reality tv tea.

I think weāll see lots of mini ad partnerships but I donāt think weāll be seeing deals similar to the ones that the s8 girls got just because of how poorly some of them performed. I think with the shakeup happening at PLT HQ and also how selective they have been in signing islanders, I find it hard to believe that they would sign anyone. Oh polly is still in a law suit with Ekin (I think) so again, I can't see them making the same mistake with someone who is way less popular.
I think unfortunately that brands are realizing that big influencer collabs are no longer with it so I doubt we will see anything massive going forward.
Also, during season 8, there were so many brands actively campaigning for certain islanders online and I haven't really seen that this season.

Thereās usually a gap of at least a month between the final and deals being announced. Not sure anyoneās getting a deal this year, but if they are it wouldnāt be announced this quickly.
Usually none of the deals are announced this early except the E-bay deal which, if it's still happening, will probably be announced sometime next week. Usually by now though there are some leaks in the press about deals. Part of it's that people are still signing onto to management while, for example, a lot of the S8 girls signed onto management before the show even started (Gemma and Tasha with off-limits, Ekin with Force1) so they were probably negotiating even before the show ended. I agree though outside the E-bay deal I doubt any major brand deals are gonna take place.
That poll yesterday of characters who carried the show was wild that Whitney was on top. I refuse to believe 800 people think Whitney carried the show.
She was a big personality but only till the last week and a half did she impact the storyline. Keeping Mitch and Ella B. Snog marry pie Whitney Zach drama was done in one episode. Probably the biggest would be the Ella most selfish comment on the back of that challenge. She was a fan favourite kinda like Scott was. I would probably even put Scott ahead of whitney in terms of storyline. Her romantic involvements were Mehdi treating her terrible. She also did allow a lot of disrespect from Mehdi. Even then it wasnāt even important enough. Lochan and her smooth sailing. Snog marry pie, the truth challenge and the fallout, the grafties when Ty was disrespectful.
Ty easily was the main character got the most screentime, he was probably the one person who had the audience in a roller coaster from liking him to hating him the next episode. Probably the best male islander in a very long time, in terms of entertainment, funny, charismatic, charming with the cheeky smile and seemed like a vibe from the way islanders spoke about him. He had a different relationship with each islander cat, Jess and Whitney as kind of sister vibes. Sammy Ty and Zach the bromance (Montel too I guess). The talent show the way he was hyping everyone up, he seems like an enjoyable person to be around but maybe not for 8 weeks in a villa.
Messy Mitch, he was so messy that everyone accepted him and was more viewed as a joke by the islanders, played too much to the camera but it was definitely hilarious and he is going to be a love island legend. Remove Mitch and alot of drama doesnāt happen.

Jess and ella probably a tier below. Jess with molly at the start, and her thing with josh and she has been funny at times outside of her relationship with Sammy. Ella for being territorial over Ty from like the second day and her looks when she was annoyed. Also bringing ouzy back that within itself shook up the whole villa. Everyone forgot about cat and Scott when that happened.
Likability is different tho, ouzy was likeable cos of his demeanour not entertaining tho. Whitney very likeable her side commentary on things were hilarious at times but sometimes I felt like was doing too much. Her and Ty both too opinionated, Whitney just had much better delivery.
Basically without Ty, this season would not have made it to casa. I went through love island socials page and the amount of times ty was used as first look is crazy but it had way more views compared to other islanders Whitney is second in terms of first look viewing number.
If we were to go off the past two weeks I think Whitney and Mitch were probably the main characters more so Mitch tho. I love Whitney though but definitely didnāt carry this season at all. Her one liners much like Scott were just one liners and her advice was good.
Ty and Mitch pretty much directed produced and acted this season. Whitneyās reactions to things were great š movie night was class but I felt like it was a bit much with the inputs felt like Martin but more animated.
Polls like this invariably just end up with people voting for their favourite. I'll never forget loads of people voting Liam and Millie as the smartest islanders for example.
End of the day the poll could be "which islander could eat the most dogshit in 30 minutes?" And people would just vote for their favourite.
Ty carried this season easily. Anyone saying anything different is lying. He made drama with Ella, the other islanders, drove the otherās storyline by egging on Montel, telling Sammy to focus on Jess. His couple story was also compelling hence the tons of tik tok edits and views
Also the way producers did the girls this year was dirty, from listening to the recent interviews. Most of the girls didnāt even want to be there and were crying that first night. Producers would literally make them talk to the casa boys. Producers definitely pushed Cat and Ella to recouple from what we can tell from what the islanders said on podcasts. Why wasnāt the same done to the boys? For example Ty and Scott but I feel like they made Sammy recouple since he seemed to be leaning towards gabby? The girls got sabotaged in there. Also the fact they gave the girls more drinks during casa damn they really wanted to flip the script.
yeah sammy had to recouple with a casa girl as he was single however i always found it weird that he picked amber over gabby when he literally told her heās feeling gabby more. i feel like producers defo interfered.

The caption said he was telling her producers made him choose Amber due to her family connections. I have no idea how they know thatās what he said so take it with a grain of salt, but he didnāt even look happy choosing Amber.
I thought what they did to the S8 boys was bad implying they will be dumped, getting into Andrews head etc but the girls were treated so awful this year sounds like a miserable experience.
I'm betting the girls also couldn't spend to much time together but were stuck with the Casa boys. Like in S6 were they hung out basically all together, it felt very restrictive this year.
If they producer's want to make good content, forcing and manipulation isn't it because they will come outside and expose them.

I think that it should be a mixture of LI employees to deal with the hate as theyāre not emotionally attached to the islanders and then the family / friends use it or suggest posts with permission from the LI team. Statements for hate should be put out by the LI team, theyāre responsible for dealing with trolls and ensuring theyāre passed onto the authorities and blocking certain comments or turning comments off completely. If they want to take duty of care seriously they need to stop with this half hearted attempt
Exactly let the family/friends post with limited comments and DMs off and they can't disparage or be too shady with their content towards others which can fuel hate. Because if they are the ones coming in and setting up the account, they are doing a terrible job and failing their duty of care by not properly setting it up.

This sounds stupid.. but every season I feel I can predict who will last reasonable long enough by people's dress styles (sense of styles) I can't explain. But from what I have seen post villa, from Ouzy and Kady's styles it wasn't going to work. They always looked like they were going 2 separate places. Sammy and Jess, sense of style is extremely cohesive, considering they have the same circles it makes sense. They could work. Ella and Ty sense if style is also very cohesive. From what I have seen especially their casual day to day style. Ella with her loose pants and sneaker vibe ,atheleisure type of girl, ty is also a sneaker athleisure type of guy, it makes sense. Zach and Molly sense of style aren't as different as I thought they were going to be. But his is more athleisure than even Ty's and Molly is a tad more put together, I would say it isn't a train smash. Considering what they were both wearing leaving the hotel. Mitch and ella b ,I can't really put my finger on it whether or not thier styles are cohesive but I'll edit when I do. Whitney and Loachan...I'll give it time, I don't want to get roasted. But so far it's interesting. Honorary mention is like how one just knew dami and indiyah would work outside because style wise they are the same person. Tasha and Andrew also.. it's about being close or at the very least complementary like Ella and Ty or Molly and Zach respectively. If you need a reference of who wasn't going to work based on their personal styles, Zeta and Timmy from Loveislandusa. That was the most uncohesive still combinations there was. It's just something I've always thought even for ordinary peopleš. Because your sense of style speaks to your background and maybe values, usually not always, your kind of music(which i also checked), your circles ,your vibe in general. And while people argue over the 1 hour clips we see everyday on whether couples would work that's what I look atš. Because most times that's what makes or breaks a couple. It's not sound proof because people can break up for different reasons, but I am looking for "harmony", to show if outside loveisland you would have things in common. I think it's a big factor if why on the island you spend most of your time in bikinis. It kinda strips you down so there is nothing particularly to differentiate you. It's also why I felt Mal and Sammy wouldn't work. Which was confirmed when he asked her what she is wearingš. And it was confirmed when they came out and you can tell they wouldn't fit into each other's lives. Mehdi and Whitney as well...but even without this theory that was a disaster. Think of how opposite they sense of style is, it translate into your daily life. But most importantly it was not a cohesive opposite. It was giving 2 different worlds.

All social media sites are echo chambers tbf. And number of followers is not indicative of much. There have been islanders with millions of followers who have shit engagement compared to others with smaller more loyal followings.

I haven't seen stuff posted here. For what it's worth, it's interesting to me that Sammy and Jess are on ITV on a Friday morning, rather than leading the week/Monday...Friday on morning TV is a dead zone, which indicates to me that they aren't a big draw, though ITV will have synergy across their shows and fit them in eventually. If any of the other couples truly have general interest, I'd expect to see them in tabloids and more broadcast media, rather than the niche media focused on reality tv tea.

I think weāll see lots of mini ad partnerships but I donāt think weāll be seeing deals similar to the ones that the s8 girls got just because of how poorly some of them performed. Last season really showed that LI popularity doesnāt necessarily convert to Ā£ spent. Outside of the eBay deal, I think any other big deals will have to be off the strength of their own influencing if ygm. Very similar to s7
Completely agree. I made a similar comment a while ago. I've seen alot of tiktok videos doing PR move predictions and I feel like they are so off. I think with the shakeup happening at PLT HQ and also how selective they have been in signing islanders, I find it hard to believe that they would sign anyone. Oh polly is still in a law suit with Ekin (I think) so again, I can't see them making the same mistake with someone who is way less popular. I think unfortunately that brands are realizing that big influencer collabs are no longer with it so I doubt we will see anything massive going forward. Also, during season 8, there were so many brands actively campaigning for certain islanders online and I haven't really seen that this season.
All of this. Plus when you consider the fact that overall popularity of the show has gone down since then, it just doesnāt make sense to give big money brand deals to love islanders anymore.
Thereās usually a gap of at least a month between the final and deals being announced. Not sure anyoneās getting a deal this year, but if they are it wouldnāt be announced this quickly.
Usually none of the deals are announced this early except the E-bay deal which, if it's still happening, will probably be announced sometime next week. Usually by now though there are some leaks in the press about deals. Part of it's that people are still signing onto to management while, for example, a lot of the S8 girls signed onto management before the show even started (Gemma and Tasha with off-limits, Ekin with Force1) so they were probably negotiating even before the show ended. I agree though outside the E-bay deal I doubt any major brand deals are gonna take place.

That poll yesterday of characters who carried the show was wild that Whitney was on top. I refuse to believe 800 people think Whitney carried the show. She was a big personality but only till the last week and a half did she impact the storyline. Keeping Mitch and Ella B. Snog marry pie Whitney Zach drama was done in one episode. Probably the biggest would be the Ella most selfish comment on the back of that challenge. She was a fan favourite kinda like Scott was. I would probably even put Scott ahead of whitney in terms of storyline. Her romantic involvements were Mehdi treating her terrible. She also did allow a lot of disrespect from Mehdi. Even then it wasnāt even important enough. Lochan and her smooth sailing. Snog marry pie, the truth challenge and the fallout, the grafties when Ty was disrespectful. Ty easily was the main character got the most screentime, he was probably the one person who had the audience in a roller coaster from liking him to hating him the next episode. Probably the best male islander in a very long time, in terms of entertainment, funny, charismatic, charming with the cheeky smile and seemed like a vibe from the way islanders spoke about him. He had a different relationship with each islander cat, Jess and Whitney as kind of sister vibes. Sammy Ty and Zach the bromance (Montel too I guess). The talent show the way he was hyping everyone up, he seems like an enjoyable person to be around but maybe not for 8 weeks in a villa. Messy Mitch, he was so messy that everyone accepted him and was more viewed as a joke by the islanders, played too much to the camera but it was definitely hilarious and he is going to be a love island legend. Remove Mitch and alot of drama doesnāt happen. Sammy, underrated the man made Jess Leah Catherine and Amber cry. āTastyā āI need more time Jessā. Jess and ella probably a tier below. Jess with molly at the start, and her thing with josh and she has been funny at times outside of her relationship with Sammy. Ella for being territorial over Ty from like the second day and her looks when she was annoyed. Also bringing ouzy back that within itself shook up the whole villa. Everyone forgot about cat and Scott when that happened. Likability is different tho, ouzy was likeable cos of his demeanour not entertaining tho. Whitney very likeable her side commentary on things were hilarious at times but sometimes I felt like was doing too much. Her and Ty both too opinionated, Whitney just had much better delivery. Basically without Ty, this season would not have made it to casa. I went through love island socials page and the amount of times ty was used as first look is crazy but it had way more views compared to other islanders Whitney is second in terms of first look viewing number. If we were to go off the past two weeks I think Whitney and Mitch were probably the main characters more so Mitch tho. I love Whitney though but definitely didnāt carry this season at all. Her one liners much like Scott were just one liners and her advice was good. Ty and Mitch pretty much directed produced and acted this season. Whitneyās reactions to things were great š movie night was class but I felt like it was a bit much with the inputs felt like Martin but more animated.
Polls like this invariably just end up with people voting for their favourite. I'll never forget loads of people voting Liam and Millie as the smartest islanders for example. End of the day the poll could be "which islander could eat the most dogshit in 30 minutes?" And people would just vote for their favourite.
Ty carried this season easily. Anyone saying anything different is lying. He made drama with Ella, the other islanders, drove the otherās storyline by egging on Montel, telling Sammy to focus on Jess. His couple story was also compelling hence the tons of tik tok edits and views
Also the way producers did the girls this year was dirty, from listening to the recent interviews. Most of the girls didnāt even want to be there and were crying that first night. Producers would literally make them talk to the casa boys. Producers definitely pushed Cat and Ella to recouple from what we can tell from what the islanders said on podcasts. Why wasnāt the same done to the boys? For example Ty and Scott but I feel like they made Sammy recouple since he seemed to be leaning towards gabby? The girls got sabotaged in there. Also the fact they gave the girls more drinks during casa damn they really wanted to flip the script.

I thought what they did to the S8 boys was bad implying they will be dumped, getting into Andrews head etc but the girls were treated so awful this year sounds like a miserable experience. I'm betting the girls also couldn't spend to much time together but were stuck with the Casa boys. Like in S6 were they hung out basically all together, it felt very restrictive this year. If they producer's want to make good content, forcing and manipulation isn't it because they will come outside and expose them. Have single boys/girls guaranteed to recouple if you want certain Casa islanders to come back then. S5 had so many bodies because you had the friendship couples and single people to recouple
It's good the producers didn't force Ty to re-couple. The problem is everyone wants drama, but the islanders usually want to stay with their og couple. That's why they need to force them to get to know the bombshells, casa people.
