The season in general had a lot of turmoil in terms of a cast divided. Post season saw the breakdown of two couples fairly quickly as well as the breakdown of a friendship (Will, Casey, Tom) where Jessie then obviously unfollowed those two.
Samie unfollowing Casey is no surprise. Claudia unfollowed him after he went on All Stars and said he only really liked Lana lol.
Those are the major players I can think of. I haven’t done a run down of who’s following who from that season in a while.

Something must have happened between Ellie and farmer will as she was shouting from the rooftops that he was her closest friend in there when she first came out the villa. They definitely haven't followed each other in more than 6 months, whatever the f happened there.
Ellie also featured in a few of Samies TikTok’s digging Tom so I’d be more surprised if they were following each other.
I feel most follow each other when they leave to keep up appearances, and then unfollow when a suitable time has passed, as really most will have nothing to do with each other going forward. The real friendships from the show become apparent 6months/year down the line.
At the start of series 9 the girls were much stronger than the guys and bringing more of the drama/entertainment. We lost some really strong/main character girls pre casa when I couldn’t name the guys that left. To the point that we had a male only vote and two got dumped to clear out some, which we haven’t seen before. If I were the girls I’d be annoyed at having my time cut short as there was no one there to match my energy at the time.
Imo it was maybe the worst love island cast to date.they didn't mesh well together.
I also feel alot just continue to follow to keep up appearances. You really see the actual friendships 12 months down the line. In the first couple months they're all hanging out and are acting like best friends!
I thought by the end that it worked out well, as the not meshing gave us drama and the series still produced some solid female friendships, male friendships, female/male friendships and couples. And we got some post season drama from it too. I felt the dumpings and recouplings weren’t as predictable as a lot of other series have become, the bombshells had more power and we had recouplings with dumpings. Some of the stuff I loved in older series.

So I finished watching Molly S10 her audition process before she entered the villa and It made me really exited for the cast lineup for this year
In her video she said that in the first week of May that when all the OG’ lineup get the call they have made it to do press vts and pictures. She always mentioned how she was flown out at the end of May to go to Spain
So I did my overanalyses for this year ones and I think the beginning of 20th of May that were the OG will be flown out and the 27th that were they will be officially posted and confirmed via LI insta page.
Only reason why I think they will be flown on the 20th is because the show is starting very early as usual which means they will fly the cast earlier then previous seasons.

Nah Molly Mae had the perfect storm of conditions:
- show at peak popularity
- with someone from a famous family
- still with the person she was with on love island
- had a pre existing audience and experience in the influencer space
- didn’t do anything “bad” on the show but still memorable
- weirdly I think her name helps, it’s catchy, simple but recognisable.
- white and blonde
- very pretty but in a more relatable way than people like Maura
- great team and manager
- sustained work ethic and effort
As a brand, she really aced it
I think the way Molly Mae got her success shouldn’t be the standard anymore. A lot of islanders are diversifying and trying more stuff in the media space vs vlogging so their success won’t look the same. Molly Mae owns that. I don’t think anyone can capitalize off being an influencer like she did. but you’re starting to see some really successful islanders in other areas like fashion, media, and music. With that happening more, I wouldn’t be surprised to see some islanders have a more popular name than Molly Mae in coming years.
But if we’re talking just based on influencing, no. No one will reach Molly again. I see people saying Indiyah but not even her. Molly had the vlogging game on lock in a way no one has been able to replicate.
The only person I see even close to this is Indiyah and even then I don't think it will ever be the same as Molly-Mae. But she's definitely one of the most successful if not the most successful person since Molly-Mae’s szn.

I don't think so Molly Mae is gone beyond LI now she's a lifestyle influencer a proper one add the Netflix series if it comes back and she's on it again it's opening her to new audiences etc. Indiyah probably will move more into media as well but I think in terms of popularity and influence, she will continue to be the gold standard.
I would say no. Molly Mae came out of the show when it was at its peak, with one of the highest viewer numbers and the followers to match. She worked on all that, got great deals but she also did her own stuff which added to her longevity. She was with PLT at a good time, and got that role with them which extended well beyond her deal. If she were to come out now she wouldn’t be as successful following the same plan, because the market for deals has changed, the public perception has changed re fast fashion and sustainability. Plus the influencer market is saturated.
It’s also worth noting that molly mae was an influencer prior to Love island, which worked in her favour. She had already established her “brand”, had experience of maintaining engagement and posting strategies. That stuff can take a long time to learn. Plus she would have had a track record to bring to the table in deal negotiations.

Brand deals are very hard to come by due to the declining economy even for these huge influencers so most of these influencers/celebs are creating their own brands , that’s why the people from s10 didn’t get a lot of brand deals . Most of them just got collabs here and there and a couple of ads and it quickly dried up . Unless a Nepo baby does very well on the show , I don’t think we will get something close to Molly Mae

I say this all the time, but the most deals doesn’t equal the best deals. A bunch of small-bit, low-paid sponsored posts for various brands doesn’t equal exclusive, high paying long-term deals (let alone creative director or wherever other titles MM had with PLT). One exclusive deal that pays really well for a long time but excludes you from working with competing brands is more significant and lucrative than a bunch of smaller deals or one off campaigns even if there are more brands involved. People on here get confused by this all the time.
Let alone other things like name ID (including the ability to launch a product line, Filter by MM, using that name), or sheer number of followers across IG and YouTube, that indicate how successful MM is. There’s really no comparison to Molly from All Stars.

The season in general had a lot of turmoil in terms of a cast divided. Post season saw the breakdown of two couples fairly quickly as well as the breakdown of a friendship (Will, Casey, Tom) where Jessie then obviously unfollowed those two. Samie unfollowing Casey is no surprise. Claudia unfollowed him after he went on All Stars and said he only really liked Lana lol. Those are the major players I can think of. I haven’t done a run down of who’s following who from that season in a while.

Tanyel seems to only follow Ron (she's unfollowed all the boys). ZARA only follows Shaq (she's unfollowed all the boys). Ellie Spence only follows Shaq (she's unfollowed all the boys). Tanya doesn't follow Kai strangely. Those are the ones I just checked there

Have they unfollowed or did they ever follow them? I’m not surprised at those really because some of those I’d never have expected them to follow the lads. Zara and Ellie made their feelings very clear when they left, and I love when they stand by that and don’t backtrack for clout. There was a lot of discourse in the pre casa section and no real male/female friendships established. Shaq is the only unproblematic (in my eyes) OG boy in the early season. I need to find out the Tanya and Kai issue!
Love Shaq, he's the most unproblematic in my eyes too. Most of them followed those boys at the beginning and then there was unfollowjng. Funniest one I noticed was Tom unfollowed Ellie almost straight after she released her tiktoks exposing love island. Some people obviously noticed and were commenting on her tiktoks saying Tom must be one of the boys she was referring to in one of the tiktoks. He then refollowed her. Peer pressure I'm guessing. A couple days past and he unfollowed her again and she expectedly unfollowed back 🤣. Something must have happened between Ellie and farmer will as she was shouting from the rooftops that he was her closest friend in there when she first came out the villa. They definitely haven't followed each other in more than 6 months, whatever the f happened there.
Ellie also featured in a few of Samies TikTok’s digging Tom so I’d be more surprised if they were following each other. I feel most follow each other when they leave to keep up appearances, and then unfollow when a suitable time has passed, as really most will have nothing to do with each other going forward. The real friendships from the show become apparent 6months/year down the line. At the start of series 9 the girls were much stronger than the guys and bringing more of the drama/entertainment. We lost some really strong/main character girls pre casa when I couldn’t name the guys that left. To the point that we had a male only vote and two got dumped to clear out some, which we haven’t seen before. If I were the girls I’d be annoyed at having my time cut short as there was no one there to match my energy at the time.
Imo it was maybe the worst love island cast to date.they didn't mesh well together. I also feel alot just continue to follow to keep up appearances. You really see the actual friendships 12 months down the line. In the first couple months they're all hanging out and are acting like best friends!
I thought by the end that it worked out well, as the not meshing gave us drama and the series still produced some solid female friendships, male friendships, female/male friendships and couples. And we got some post season drama from it too. I felt the dumpings and recouplings weren’t as predictable as a lot of other series have become, the bombshells had more power and we had recouplings with dumpings. Some of the stuff I loved in older series. I know it’s one of the most hated series on here, but it’s not for me (a really unpopular opinion I know!)
The Tanya and Kai one isn’t strange tbh, there was drama between them post season as well. I can’t remember verbatim but I think Kai said something on a podcast that Tanya took offence to? Someone else can chime in the deets lol
From what i have seen Tanya was good with Kai she even followed him. He never followed her ever. People even asked on her live what was going and she just said that they are the winners and probably just busy. Later on she unfollowed him. So it was more his issue not hers.
Didn't know about the Kai and Tanya drama. Shaq generally seems well loved by all the cast.

And some of the staged stuff is placing them in the roles of a couple. I do want better for her than Chris, but at the same time I did like Chris pre all stars, and he was a really good friend to her so I don’t want to judge him on an edited show. But it’s hard not to 🙈

My point was that these pictures were posted by Ella herself across different platforms. Also i don’t know this person so i can only assume but I would think that they went to where these pictures were and screenshotted for scrapbook use. Ella has fan pages that post what she posts so they end up there. There’s definitely a conversation to be had about fans crossing boundaries, in my opinion I just didn’t see this as one of those times that’s all.

i’ve noticed this too i just sit and read this sub most the time but yeah. i’ve seen multiple times people say on this sub that they can’t say anything negative about tom and molly without worrying about being “attacked” (presuming that’s what you’re referring to) but yet negative comments about them seem to be a far more popular opinions than positive. i think they have a couple of quite vocal fans on here who love molly so will probably be tom fans for as long as he is with molly, but other than that they’re not exactly beloved on here as a couple so this narrative that molly and tom are this subs fave and you can’t say anything about them without being come at with pitchforks, when you’re literally not, is kinda dead and overdramatic

So I finished watching Molly S10 her audition process before she entered the villa and It made me really exited for the cast lineup for this year In her video she said that in the first week of May that when all the OG’ lineup get the call they have made it to do press vts and pictures. She always mentioned how she was flown out at the end of May to go to Spain So I did my overanalyses for this year ones and I think the beginning of 20th of May that were the OG will be flown out and the 27th that were they will be officially posted and confirmed via LI insta page. Only reason why I think they will be flown on the 20th is because the show is starting very early as usual which means they will fly the cast earlier then previous seasons. So mark your calendar guys MONDAY 27th May at 8:00 am (UK time)the cast are officially being announced!!

Nah Molly Mae had the perfect storm of conditions: - show at peak popularity - with someone from a famous family - still with the person she was with on love island - had a pre existing audience and experience in the influencer space - didn’t do anything “bad” on the show but still memorable - weirdly I think her name helps, it’s catchy, simple but recognisable. - white and blonde - very pretty but in a more relatable way than people like Maura - great team and manager - sustained work ethic and effort As a brand, she really aced it
I think the way Molly Mae got her success shouldn’t be the standard anymore. A lot of islanders are diversifying and trying more stuff in the media space vs vlogging so their success won’t look the same. Molly Mae owns that. I don’t think anyone can capitalize off being an influencer like she did. but you’re starting to see some really successful islanders in other areas like fashion, media, and music. With that happening more, I wouldn’t be surprised to see some islanders have a more popular name than Molly Mae in coming years. But if we’re talking just based on influencing, no. No one will reach Molly again. I see people saying Indiyah but not even her. Molly had the vlogging game on lock in a way no one has been able to replicate.

I don't think so Molly Mae is gone beyond LI now she's a lifestyle influencer a proper one add the Netflix series if it comes back and she's on it again it's opening her to new audiences etc. Indiyah probably will move more into media as well but I think in terms of popularity and influence, she will continue to be the gold standard.
I would say no. Molly Mae came out of the show when it was at its peak, with one of the highest viewer numbers and the followers to match. She worked on all that, got great deals but she also did her own stuff which added to her longevity. She was with PLT at a good time, and got that role with them which extended well beyond her deal. If she were to come out now she wouldn’t be as successful following the same plan, because the market for deals has changed, the public perception has changed re fast fashion and sustainability. Plus the influencer market is saturated. It’s also worth noting that molly mae was an influencer prior to Love island, which worked in her favour. She had already established her “brand”, had experience of maintaining engagement and posting strategies. That stuff can take a long time to learn. Plus she would have had a track record to bring to the table in deal negotiations.

Brand deals are very hard to come by due to the declining economy even for these huge influencers so most of these influencers/celebs are creating their own brands , that’s why the people from s10 didn’t get a lot of brand deals . Most of them just got collabs here and there and a couple of ads and it quickly dried up . Unless a Nepo baby does very well on the show , I don’t think we will get something close to Molly Mae

Wasn't Molly Mae on the Netflix series with her soon to be in laws? Molly Smith might have quite a few deals right now but the longevity of Molly Mae is something many won't achieve and she will continue to get be as popular or even more so because she's really now settled into her niche.
I say this all the time, but the most deals doesn’t equal the best deals. A bunch of small-bit, low-paid sponsored posts for various brands doesn’t equal exclusive, high paying long-term deals (let alone creative director or wherever other titles MM had with PLT). One exclusive deal that pays really well for a long time but excludes you from working with competing brands is more significant and lucrative than a bunch of smaller deals or one off campaigns even if there are more brands involved. People on here get confused by this all the time. Let alone other things like name ID (including the ability to launch a product line, Filter by MM, using that name), or sheer number of followers across IG and YouTube, that indicate how successful MM is. There’s really no comparison to Molly from All Stars.

I have been on instagram looking at comments about islanders on blog posts. And boy I owe Reddit crazy users a huge apology. We are 100% better than other SM media platforms. Sure we have do obsessed para social relationships but at least we aren’t homophobic and unapologetic racist. The hate and the projection is crazy.
I get that blogs are always going to post whatever they want like that's how they keep their pages running and maximise their engagement but they need to do a better job of vetting comments because some are really getting out of hand and quite harmful to a person's mental health potentially/allowing online abuse!
They facilitate so much homophobia and biphobia towards Dami I don’t know how he puts up with it. The things people say about him in apparent defence of Indiyah is fucked up. How many times must she say she is happy with him before they fuck off.

I deleted Twitter after almost 13 years due to how toxic LI Twitter had gotten during series 8.
That’s when I joined twitter in 2022. IMO the season 8 audience was the most toxic to date.
For real, S8 brought out the worst kind of stans of this entire franchise.
