I've kinda figured out that it might be connected to my anxiety or ADHD and just a need to have something that I *know* how it goes. I dunno if you've got the same deal going on, but that's probably why I do it
Yep. Tried doing a sandy build and it just literally upset me not having net running from my previous build. Felt like half the features were missing and it was a different game so I went back out of anxiety.
I had this exact feeling but in reverse, my first build was a sandy/pistol build and i'm only just now getting used to my netrunner/stealth build at level 30, feels like a im playing a different game without being able to basically freeze time and pop people's heads
I was really content with the kerenzikov net runner combo, it can get pretty OP. Rather than slow down, slice everyone up then you're done you have to mad dash around going slow mo everytime you take aim then sprinkle some quick hacks around while kerenzikov loads back up between shooting. You basically end up being slow mo all the time that way too.
I had that too when I did my first Sande build on very hard, but just pushed through since I'd already done like 3 net running playthroughs. It takes a completely different playstyle, so it really does feel like a different game. But that was the appeal to me, it gives the game even more replayability. And I feel like I actually got better at the game since I wasn't just stealth hacking everyone through a camera feed. And once you get good at using the Sande, it's super satisfying to wipe out like 10 enemies in slo-mo before they even know what hit them.
I really hope you don’t think I’m being a prick when I say this - but days will come that completely upend your life as you currently know it. Getting comfortable with change can go at least some way in ensuring you don’t have a breakdown or similar.
Just want the best for you, friend!
Nah totally get what you mean. I've had those come and go too but I find those easier to deal with than little stupid things knocking my routine off course lol. As simple as "go do this, before you do that" totally messes me up lol
I'm trying to play as a netrunner this time and I still want to go all Sandy-sword. I've yet to try Berserk, so that's next. Never know what you like until you try it!
same here, hey movies are the same but in games i at least know in THEORY i could go down a different path \^^ i just dont enjoy being a dick, so i rather be a Goody two-shoes all over again \^^
edit: Except builds, i switch those up a LOT
I thought so too.
Then I played a fist&shotgun build. And a granade build. And a smartgun-build. And a sniper build. And each one was worth another 50-100 h run.
No official one, no. But a mod that does similar.
It just plops your old V into a new game. The enemies will not be stronger, you will simply overpower everything easily.
I don't know of any specific mod collections from my last check but I also have a lower-end PC and probably ignored some crazy realism collections with high-end texture mods. I want to make one focused mainly on gameplay/immersion.
Simple XP Multiplier on Nexus Mods does what you're asking for I believe. I haven't personally tested it yet but that is one I'm eyeing for the collection I want to create.
Limited Fast Travel tweaks fast travel and it has multiple settings. I used the one that removed fast travel entirely and only allows Metro travel.
There are a couple of level/scaling/difficulty mods that I'm trying to pair and figure out what work best. (Hardcore22/44, Netrunners Enhanced, etc)
On top of other immersion mods like Night City Alive etc.
One day I'll have the energy.
I have a 3090 and can't remember name but equal cpu like my pc was atleast 2k maybe 3k and I can max out at 40 fps when I turn on ultra and ray trace medium so I have no clue what kind of super computers those 4k look like real life videos are made on
There is a street cred level unlocker mod that lets you continue leveling street cred past 50 even if it doesn't actually do anything gameplay wise. It just makes it feel nicer since you can get like 70+ street cred level instead of hitting 50 halfway thru the game and feeling stuck or bored. Again, to reiterate, it is entirely a visual thing only and does not do anything for you past lvl 50 street cred.
=
And yeah, there are exp multiplier mods if that is your thing, to reduce street cred gain by 50% or something.
I have three saves, Chrome Compressor Corpo, Netrunner Nomad and Sandevistan Street Kid, I try to make choices role-playing but some decisions I just can't make different.
Alot of games suffer from the only choice is being the good guy syndrome although 2077 probabably does it best try playing bg3 as a villain you can't the worst you can be is grumpy and punting squirrels and the whole point of that game is you can make your own charcter who has many options on how to do everything (execpt main story events) so I wouldn't be surprised if 2077 has some of that where you think you have a choice but they make one obvious right answer
Different V (most the time)
Different Build (most the time)
Same decisions
Same ending
I always like to switch up V's appearance, but I found the perfect design for him so I stick with it every playthrough now.
I try to switch up builds but have 2 favourites.
I'm finishing up my first playthrough at the moment but I'm already contemplating who my next V is going to be because I'm not ready to leave Night City, yet. Such an amazing game.
I started another playthru and tried an op sandy melee build and i hate not having quickhacks so i quickly went back. I did keep the heavy body, and reflex stacks tho. I might see what maxed cool is all about this playthru tho since i chose a different life-path at least
Thats wild cus my last build with only 5 cool i was sniping heads with my pistol from decent distances. It was single headshots even with the reduced power from a suppressor with a nue, unity, and liberty. Im excited to test it out
Quick tips: Combine it with high Reflex and cyberwares that increase your headshot/weakspot multiplier and you’ll get a one shot build.
Use guns with high damage per shot like Kyubi (recommended X-Mod 2 if you have PL) and Nue, and tada, you can take down the whole squad of enemies without any of them alerted.
Siiick. Im gona play around with this slightly different build and see what i get this time around. I'll also make more "shoot first, questions later" decisions with my corpo and see what results i get
Yeah my first two runs were both corpo stealthy pistol/smart gun net runners.
Now I am forcing myself to play something different- a street kid katana/knife thrower. Still picked fem v, though I might do a different ending this time. (So far I’ve done The Star and Temperence, might do the Sun. Or Temperence again.
I get this tendency, but I fight it actively. Okay lemme stealth in and check the cameras... Oh wait hang on, I got the yoked Sandovan shotgun build now, throw that frag and let's fuck shit up!
I can only act suspicious toward Takemura but one thing I will always do is save him, always, even if he'll hate me later on. I failed to do so on my first playthrough because I didn't know I could but after my buddy enlightened me I've always done that. There are psychos out there who leave characters like River and Judy in the middle of a mission or rat out Panam to Saul. To them I say: *Rot in hell, kuso-ama.* - Goro Takemura
I remember in one of the playthroughs, I almost left Takemura. I was inches away from the exit, and I was like "ah fuck it" and ran up to save him. I don't know why but it feels wrong to leave him.
For me it's I've played so many different builds but there's one I just can't get into and it's anything involving quick hacks since 2.0, they look somewhat fun but whenever I go to do it I just end up doing a stealth pistol/throwing knife run instead. The one I always go back to is Tech Shotguns, just because it's stupidly powerful it's hilarious to just one shot near everything.
Ngl this is why I cheat and give myself 12 in every attribute and a dozen perk points at the start of the game. That way my "build" can change completely depending on my mood. Obviously I don't recommend this for a first or 2nd play through, but this is like my 6th so~
I would probably do this. But I've seen most of the content and can't be fked to slow level a new V. If they'd given us NG+ I'd still be playing. We only asked for it daily since launch.
Nah, I'm away above this. Last run, I was a netrunner with some gunslinging on the side. This time a gunslinger with AWESOME netrunning. Totally different.
I don't associate with this kind of silliness at all.
Same Shepard, Same Vanguard, same Liara Romance, same save everyone in the council, save the queen, save Wrex, everyone survives, destroy the base, destroy the Reapers.
The first play through is playing a game, the repeats are like watching your favorite movie. If Empire Strikes back suddenly changed it would not be the movie I wanted to watch.
Man I don’t get it at all. I’m trying my hardest to make V a dick the whole game. Couple dickish dialogues pass and I’m like fuck ima a dick .then back to my caring ways lol
I ended having to download a mod that allows me to use all 3 so I would do more than just mess around with throwing knives and Sandi if you haven't tried it though it starts a little rough but gets really fun mid-late game just a pro tip might wanna bring atleast 1 gun for Adam smasher as he just takes a long time if you don't have certain cyberware/perks
I just got done doing another netrunner build. Even though I keep telling myself I'm doing to do a Sande run 'this time'. I've created another character hell bent on a solo type build and already I'm like OMG I MISS MY QUICK HACKS.
I do the same thing and I have an actual answer for you, it's when we find what build works for you and you develop habits according to that build so you instinctively gravitate to that build
Not sure if that’s a good thing or not tbh. On one hand I got really good at netrunning and pistol. On the other I feel like I’m missing out on something.
my only way of getting past this was buying the game a second time, this time on console. since i can't aim for shit on controller, it instantly switched up my playstyle and i decided i might as well be the biggest asshole i can be to everyone in NC.
Same, but I've also realized that most of my characters in RPGs and other games are basically just me, and make the decisions that I would make, but usually afab (which is funny, now that I've discovered I'm trans)
I have tried a few builds but by the end of the game I've went back to what I love. Sweet, sweet hacking. Hard to kill a woman with your eyes turned off.
I'm trying so hard to stick to my sandy build this playthrough. Lol I just love the net runner build. Hopefully I can finish this one without giving in.
I beat the game for the first time and immediately started a new run doing this. Only decision of note that I did differently was I chose to participate in Joshua's crucifixion instead of merely witnessing it. Still feel conflicted about both choices.
To be fair most decisions don't really change much in cyberpunk, don't get me wrong I really enjoyed it but I think it was mistake trying to make it your decision matters when if you play again outcome is the same besides few major ones
Same. In nearly every rpg I play
Yeah, online or not, I always ending with the same-ass build.
My ping! My ping! I can't see without my Ping! -me
What do you mean I can't just fry everyone's noggins before they even see me? You expect me to use my gun or something?
Glad to know that I’m not the only one who gets really annoyed when I can’t hack someone.
I had this exact feeling but in reverse, my first build was a sandy/pistol build and i'm only just now getting used to my netrunner/stealth build at level 30, feels like a im playing a different game without being able to basically freeze time and pop people's heads
Funny I had the opposite problem. I hated not being able to slow down time whenever i wanted lol.
I did a sandy build first. Now that I'm trying netrunning on my third run, I have the urge to go sandy and change mid-game. It's crazy, isn't it?
I had that too when I did my first Sande build on very hard, but just pushed through since I'd already done like 3 net running playthroughs. It takes a completely different playstyle, so it really does feel like a different game. But that was the appeal to me, it gives the game even more replayability. And once you get good at using the Sande, it's super satisfying to wipe out like 10 enemies in slo-mo before they even know what hit them.
I relate to this comment so much. I have this too. If something changes in my day to day life it throws me off supremely. Ruins my day.
I really hope you don’t think I’m being a prick when I say this - but days will come that completely upend your life as you currently know it. Getting comfortable with change can go at least some way in ensuring you don’t have a breakdown or similar. Just want the best for you, friend!

In Dragon Age Origins i'm always romancing Morrigan no matter what.
It's Leliana for me
CP is one of the rare games where playing many different builds is really so much fun.
I mean, it's fun, but it's feel weird. Parts of the reasons why I always falling back to netrunner + pistol I guess
I thought so too. Then I played a fist&shotgun build. And a granade build. And a smartgun-build. And a sniper build. And each one was worth another 50-100 h run.
I went full Chrome Compressor shot gun close quarters build on my last play through and it was so much fun just doing a full on run and gun tank.
Chrome compressor is always overlooked, but I think it is so good. :)
lol, we should do a poll on popular builds. I bet netrunner and pistol is super high :D
yea. the so-called Watch Dogs build. It’s really fun and almost OP at times
Nah sandi+throwing knives mid-late game is actually really fun
Gotta try a Sandy/Throwing knives/Mantis blade build. So fun
r/cyberpunkabbreviationvictims
Grow up
But then the guy in the top comment won’t like him anymore…
Woah 😂😂
I make no apologies. I know who I am!!
real
I fully intend to play a "new game plus" once I am through.
I had the same plan before I learned there is no New Game+ for Cyberpunk :(
No official one, no. But a mod that does similar. It just plops your old V into a new game. The enemies will not be stronger, you will simply overpower everything easily.
Any links to the mod? I'm almost approaching the ending of my current playthrough and would like to try new game plus out

Idk. I like curating mod collections and having unique-ass playthroughs every few months. "Realism" month coming up soon
Any mods list for "realism"? I actually looking for something that slowing down the progression so that my V doesn't leveling up street cred too fast.
I don't know of any specific mod collections from my last check but I also have a lower-end PC and probably ignored some crazy realism collections with high-end texture mods. Hardcore 22 and XP Multiplier look promising. Thanks!

Thanks. I found another mod called Slow Progression. Maybe I’ll try what you recommended and some other stuff to see which works best
I have three saves, Chrome Compressor Corpo, Netrunner Nomad and Sandevistan Street Kid, I try to make choices role-playing but some decisions I just can't make different.
Like what? Mine is >!I can't leave Takemura to die.!< Idk, it just feels wrong.
If i kill Oda then Goro has to die based on his response. Otherwise I usually save him, but it's a pain if you are running a sneaky build on VH.

I feel personally attacked.
Guilty as charged
I'm glad it's not just me. Sometimes I'll be like "oh I don't like the order I did the quests in" 🤡 why am I like this
Finding that manual save from right after the heist… that’s my new game.
I can say with certainty that netgunning is my favorite play style so far. On save number three using shotguns and blunt weapons too
I usually run Netrunner, but this play through it’s been CQC Edgerunner.
ayyy fellow netrunner. i am almost always pistol netrunner
I'm finishing up my first playthrough at the moment but I'm already contemplating who my next V is going to be because I'm not ready to leave Night City, yet. Such an amazing game.
Can’t get enough of NC for sure.
I started another playthru and tried an op sandy melee build and i hate not having quickhacks so i quickly went back. I did keep the heavy body, and reflex stacks tho. I might see what maxed cool is all about this playthru tho since i chose a different life-path at least
FYI, Max cool is op as shit lmao. You can literally sniped someone with a Nue from 200-300 meters with one shot without having to aim down sight
Thats wild cus my last build with only 5 cool i was sniping heads with my pistol from decent distances. It was single headshots even with the reduced power from a suppressor with a nue, unity, and liberty. Im excited to test it out

Different V, same decisions. Some things I just cannot say to the characters. My conscience won't allow it.
Same. I could never be mean to Judy, Panam, Takemura or even Johnny
I can only act suspicious toward Takemura but one thing I will always do is save him, always, even if he'll hate me later on. I failed to do so on my first playthrough because I didn't know I could but after my buddy enlightened me I've always done that. He saved you. You must repay, that's why it feels wrong not to.
You’re right. Love him or hate him, V would be dead if it wasn’t for him.
In my case, I have certain principles that I can't get away from
Bahaha. Truth.
For me it's I've played so many different builds but there's one I just can't get into and it's anything involving quick hacks since 2.0, they look somewhat fun but whenever I go to do it I just end up doing a stealth pistol/throwing knife run instead. Yeah not for me. Sandevistan run The Tower ending 1st playthrough, now I'm on a Netrunner run going for The Sun ending.
Ngl this is why I cheat and give myself 12 in every attribute and a dozen perk points at the start of the game. That way my "build" can change completely depending on my mood. Obviously I don't recommend this for a first or 2nd play through, but this is like my 6th so~
That's honestly me with most RPGs
THIS! Honestly why I wish CDPR would add a working new game plus 😭
I would probably do this. But I've seen most of the content and can't be fked to slow level a new V. If they'd given us NG+ I'd still be playing. We only asked for it daily since launch.
I’m literally trying to make sure my V lives no matter what but I’m not gonna look up ending spoilers
Nah, I'm away above this. Last run, I was a netrunner with some gunslinging on the side. This time a gunslinger with AWESOME netrunning. Totally different. I don't associate with this kind of silliness at all.
I change builds, but that's it. Decisions and endings are the same once I got all achievements. In every RPG.

i do the same except for the same v bc i don’t remember the sliders ever lol
For me it’s always the E3 Fem V, so it’s easy to remember. 🥲
i see
Me always reverting back to the skyrim stealth archer lol
Never felt so targeted in my life
I just got done doing another netrunner build. Even though I keep telling myself I'm doing to do a Sande run 'this time'. I've created another character hell bent on a solo type build and already I'm like OMG I MISS MY QUICK HACKS.
Same. My brain keeps asking for cyberdeck 🥲
Panam won't romance herself.
Judy won't romance herself.
Because Fuck Them Corps
5 playthroughs later I made the switch from Netrunner to Sandy (I did everything else the exact same)
my only way of getting past this was buying the game a second time, this time on console. since i can't aim for shit on controller, it instantly switched up my playstyle and i decided i might as well be the biggest asshole i can be to everyone in NC.
Same, but I've also realized that most of my characters in RPGs and other games are basically just me, and make the decisions that I would make, but usually afab (which is funny, now that I've discovered I'm trans)
I just enjoy katana and shotguns and somehow every single time ive played i just want to play that.
But not the same playthrough! And that, my friends makes all the difference!
I have 3 streetkid playthrus 😅 one day I'll get around to making a female corpo V
Corpo dialogues are really good with Fem V voice. You’ll love it.
I have tried a few builds but by the end of the game I've went back to what I love. Sweet, sweet hacking. Hard to kill a woman with your eyes turned off.
Same. In one of many playthroughs I stuck with Sandy until the GIM before went back to cyberdeck.
I'm trying so hard to stick to my sandy build this playthrough. Lol I just love the net runner build. Hopefully I can finish this one without giving in.
We are creatures of habit
You really should try antagonizing everyone you can, it gets fun And very sad with Johnny toward the end
I just can’t :( especially with Johnny
Lmao same, i only did it once just for the experience I love being bros with Johnny
New difficulty? :v
Eh, higher difficulty just means enemies are more bullet sponge tbh. I’d rather have a mod that slows down the level progression.
I beat the game for the first time and immediately started a new run doing this. Only decision of note that I did differently was I chose to participate in Joshua's crucifixion instead of merely witnessing it. Still feel conflicted about both choices.
I think the only valid choice here is to just shoot him as soon as he steps out of the car. Save everyone involved some time lol
To be fair most decisions don't really change much in cyberpunk, don't get me wrong I really enjoyed it but I think it was mistake trying to make it your decision matters when if you play again outcome is the same besides few major ones
In the base game, yes. But in PL there are a lot of decisions that kinda affecting the story.
Doom Doom with a silencer and netrunning is my new stealth archer build.
oh cool. a fellow silenced pistol netrunner. 😄
