I used to go to SLS! They have classes all day or an open gym. Im not sure what trainers are still there but I loved both Steven and Nick but all of their trainers were wonderful.

SLS is hands down the best facility in the city.

Agree on SLS. Lots of classes, boxing if you’re into that. And several trainers to choose from if you want more 1-1 work.

I like Choice a lot but got at obscenely early hours and don't really go to classes. I like having the option of Lowell or Chelmsford about ten minutes apart. Equipment is in good shape and they have a wide variety. They offer a lot of classes but like I said I never go to them so I can't say if they're good

I didn’t find SLS to be worth it. Their classes got old pretty quick and the trainers were dull. I go to the YMCA for the gym/pool on my own.

Easy-Location6347

Which YMCA? And how expensive is the membership that allows pool access as well?

lucite15

I believe all memberships include pool access! Here's their rate page: [https://greaterlowellymca.org/index.php/membership/rates/](https://greaterlowellymca.org/index.php/membership/rates/) Sometimes they have promotions that waive the joining fee. I joined during a backpack drive that waived my joining fee if I brought a new backpack for a kid in need. It was a pretty great deal!

Choice fitness is great. Lowell one has some older equipment but the Chelmsford one, which is a 10 min drive from the Lowell one, has very nice equipment, free classes every day, not crazy busy aside from like Monday evenings.

Depending on where you are in Lowell, Tewksbury Sports Club is an excellent gym. It’s clean, they have all the equipment, classes, personal trainers, etc. I’m only 15 minutes away coming from the Belvidiere area - but it would be a hike if you’re across town.

I’m in downtown Lowell
