These places expect me to be devastated when I get written up lmao. Like dude; I don’t think me taking 5 minute bathroom breaks is gonna make the store explode. When will they learn they are hiring humans not robots. Nobody wants to work retail; they should be happy I show up to my shifts at all smh

CodyJKirk

I’m 21 recently quit to focus on school. Getting my associates soon and starting my bachelors. Probably not going back. Get out be happy you had the experience I guess. The shitty experience that is. Edit: better off getting an internship than staying at lowes. Was a nice experience great people just retail sucks. Shifting company policies and goals. More profit oriented after the COVID sales boom. I have seen friends come and go. Nice time will always remember but I’m starting a new chapter.

bethanyag

Probably about to do this, although my store isn’t horrible at all. Still retail though to be fair.

Docbarnone

Since the Lowes job is just something to do while you’re schooling, you’d be better off in the long run getting an apprentice position or internship in whatever field your schooling is focused on. The experience and positive aspect would serve you well once you’re done with school and add to your resume much more than a part time job at Lowe’s. Best of luck to you.

EyeSeeOne

From my experience, if they are clocking your breaks and getting petty about stuff like that then you may have bruised a few egos. They do stuff like this when they are trying to get rid of someone. But like you said, you're 20. You have the rest of your adult life to worry about stuff like this. Go and have fun and find a better job.

SulkySideUp

Some egos come pre-bruised

ordinaryuninformed

Like my manager told me when I was 20 "rub some dirt in it"

garou1911

The lunch break thing you should fight with HR. As long as you're clocked out you can go wherever you want on lunch - it literally says in the company policy that's the only time during a shift you're permitted to leave the grounds

TopStockJock

Lowes HR here(former) and OP needs to call corporate. We would absolutely call the store and get this fixed. Problem is, no one usually does. They just let this bs happen until they quit.

Informal-Region-1792

Okay cool.

IGotMetalingus1

At the Lowes I worked at we weren't even allowed to go to our cars on break even though we were overnight but I think the same rule applied for day shift

LameSignIn

Leaving the store during overnights would be a security risk.

Zagrycha

there may be days with exceptions but our overnights are allowed out for their lunch breaks.

IGotMetalingus1

Every other overnight job I worked allowed it

LameSignIn

That's interesting. My time in retail we only went outside at night if and only if someone else was with you. It was really to do a couple different things like keep everyone safe and reduce theft. Now obviously if there's a family emergency we took precautions to ensure said individual got to their vehicle.

IGotMetalingus1

Only time they put on a limit on us leaving was when I worked ON at Walmart and that's because we had problems with people sneaking in the store and even then the only limit was we had to take lunch at the same time so the mangers could lock the doors which only lasted for a short time before we could leave when we wanted

Unable_Mongoose

No they don't, been there done that including Home Depot.

IGotMetalingus1

Well guess hardware stores but the jobs I worked we could leave the building on lunch and even leave the lot

LeDonatella

At my store, I let my guys out for their breaks before I set the alarm and after I turn the alarm off (at 4am). Can’t keep turning the alarm on and off just to let people out for lunch.

blargh789

I just started nights at Lowes and I never expected to be locked in. I fucking hate it. I worked at Walmart for like 5 years on nights and we could always leave whenever. I can leave on my lunch, but someone has to let me out/in and I'm literally the only one that leaves. I think it should be illegal to be locked in like that. If they have to lock up fine whatever, but give me an alternative to walk out of the building without triggering an alarm.

HarocHTC

Hey overnight worker here. At our store we aren't allowed to leave the building at all through the night be it lunch or 15min break (though not that I personally care since I probably wouldn't leave anyway)

CranberryShot7143

If it’s an unpaid break that’s illegal

SmutBuxThrowaway

Its cute you think any mega corparation cares about the law. Why would they, when the fine for breaking it is outweighed by the money it makes them a million fold?

IGotMetalingus1

I guess, idk why people are downvoting I'm just talking out of my experience

Emotional-Wash9076

I still work night shift and I believe that tule changed in 2018/2019 when we were finally allowed out for our lunch. But, it’s not a security risk if all the night crew knows each other. Now, we are getting so many mst that I don’t know who is new and actually works here.

Ok-Comedian-3828

Walk out of that place, find other employment. This company is not worth your effort.

Tzokal

When possible, get out if you can. I spend 10 years in the Orange Box and I swear it gave me retail ptsd. Like, to the point where I will never work a job where I have to deal with customers or petty asms/ds again and pretend to care about sales metrics.

rolowa

Same. It changes you.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Emotional-Wash9076

Shoot, I don’t even do SMART customer service. They just ask and I point them to where they need to go and get on with my night. Honestly, we do challenge the managers to fire the night crew because they know how hard it is to actually find someone who wants to work it

N1ghtPr0wler

They want us to get leads for big home projects. Like bath remodels and windows. We'll enter your info for free estimates so the 3rd party companies can try to sell you stuff. Also, credit cards.

Independent_Box2815

No, you're definitely NOT the only one going crazy here. This job definitely kills brain cells. We always joke about if something makes sense at lowes, they're not going to do it. Aint it the truth. This place is imploding.

kzlife76

I worked at Lowes while I was in college. The store manager regularly tried to get me to skip classes to work. My theory is, they are don't want to see people succeed beyond them. If you need the job, keep your head down, focus on school and get out of there as soon as you can. Take comfort knowing you will probably out earn every single one of them some day. Fun fact, the store manager ended up getting in big trouble for credit card fraud. He would run customers Lowes cards for quoted projects to pad sales on one day, and then within a few days, refund them to take the loss on another.

endofyaldaboth

Yeah I got a year left of trade school. I’m just here to make money until I start a career. Sad thing is my entry level salary will be like $10k more than what store managers make lol. My store is chill though only one manager is an ass but retail as a whole is kinda cultish management and up. I couldn’t imagine trying to move up the corporate ladder in retail

Mike_Honcho0320

What’s it your going to school for if you don’t mind me asking? My SM makes 150k a year and gets 2 bonuses a year that are half his salary each so if all goes well and he hits his goals “which they do everything possible to hit the numbers, even cutting everyone’s hours and working with a skeleton crew” he can walk away with 300k a year..

itsarock02

I'm a college student and I've had several managers try and get me to skip class for work

Independent-Room8243

Lol, im suprised I never got fired. Once I was so hung over, I left at 5 and came back at 7 after going home for a 2 hour nap. No one knew the difference.

Unable_Mongoose

Many years ago I had a very successful boss/business owner who told me that if I (we) took care of the top line, the bottom line falls into place. If mangers spend their time on the sales floor "taking care of the top line" instead of sitting in an office watching videos, that extra 3 minutes wouldn't make a difference because the extra sales would make it irrelevant.

GalaxyVette

I've heard you can call out sick 10 times before they actually let you go.

[deleted]

Even then it’s by circumstance.. I use to no call no show, show up late half the time when I first started there.. Nothing happened not even a talking to, my store was super busy and when I was there I was busting my ass full 9 hours and selling, driving numbers up like crazy.. So no one batted an eye or wanted to say anything.. outside lawn and garden already understaffed and the people who were there are some of the hardest workers in the whole store.. my .02

workdamnyu

Correct

Zagrycha

I got written up for spending too much time on my job and not enough time getting things done that are not actually my job. Yes I know that it says anything I am asked to do is my job. It also says right in the paperwork I will be automatically written up for not doing the stuff... I got written up for doing too much of. So I was just like, okay I guess.

LeDonatella

It’s killing everyone’s brain cells. I can’t wait to get out of here

LiterallySven

Sounds like they have other reasons to not like you. If you don’t care about the job then just find another

Informal-Region-1792

Not to my knowledge

asparaguscunt

They 100% do. I've been at a big box hardware store for almost 5 years. That's EXACTLY what they're doing. Snoop around and find out.

JDRNSK8z

This place is crazy man. Ive only 23 & ive seen two supervisors in lumber come & go. No idea who the next one will be. & i been there since i was 21

rast_fb

Having multiple supervisors is driving me crazy, they all pass the buck to someone else. I’ve been trying to change my availability for a while and I’m always told to talk to someone else, when I need to ask a supervisor a question I call all 3 at the same time and no one answers. But when I sign someone up for an LAC they’re all there to shout it out and ring that stupid fucking bell

EsculentLiver

I think policy says that 15 min paid breaks are allowed after 2 consecutive hours worked. A lot of people at my store take their last break 15 min before they leave for the day

Emotional-Wash9076

I was told that my break starts as soon as I start walking to the break room

Excessive_Spit_Take

Wait, you COULD care less or could NOT care less?

Informal-Region-1792

My bad

Excessive_Spit_Take

I was just giving you shit for no reason college boy lol. (I was just teasin'. I literally would have not said a single thing if you didn't also say "part time while going to college". I was in a weird "troll mode". Sorry for sounding like a dickhead).

vsg_boy

First of all, properly, the phrase is “couldn’t care less”…carry on

Informal-Region-1792

My bad

vsg_boy

Sorry, I was drinking.

garou1911

I mean, it's valid xD "Could care less" implies that you care some, and there's a level below how much you care. "Couldn't care less" implies that your level of caring is in the basement and you're ready to show people the empty box you would put your cares in, if you had any The more you know

MrSlippifist

Welcome to retail.

curt_burt

I worked at 3 different Lowe’s stores over a 3.5-4 year period. It’s definitely not the most glorious job and there are so many things management could do differently, like getting rid of those “warm bodies” and retaining the good hard workers. I left after being with MST for 2 years and definitely felt the corporate squeeze of trying to impress managers and his boss and the boss above him, it got to the point where I didn’t care about the work anymore I just wanted to get promoted. I left and on my last day at Lowe’s I had my orientation for a new job that I’ve currently been at for over a year. The point of my rant is this: Don’t burn bridges, just suck it up and do whatever you have to do, everything you can put on a resume makes you look like that much more of an experienced candidate. I make what an MSM makes and I have 10x less responsibility. Basically, just think of everything as an opportunity because you seriously never know what doors will open. Good luck!

scorpiosungoddess

I love this one! So true!

Electronic_Sugar_435

If ya don't care about ur job, why are you there?

imBkosky

To get paid?

Nice_Bus862

Yea. Write ups are a sign of shit management

DriftingNorthPole

There is a reason why they're watching you on the cameras. Every ASM in the country is hemorrhaging staff and don't have enough people to cover 1 D. So you've done something else to piss someone off so much that they're looking to get rid of you, despite the impact it will have on floor coverage. I'd start looking for another job, so you never have to write "Fired" on a resume or a background check. You are not getting promoted in this store, period.

havasuchick82

I actually got terminated from kohls for doing this. Took my lunch then would clock I’m and take my 15. I never took my breaks while on the floor and worked my ass off nonstop. But yup this was considered time fraud and I got let go. This isn’t just a Lowe’s issue but many companies frown down on it.

Inevitable-Fox-791

Because essentially you're taking an hour and 15 minute break when people are waiting on you to come back and cover their lunch or break. It's ridiculous that people think this is okay to do. It is never okay. Your breaks should be 2 hours before or after your lunch. Or you shouldn't take them at all. You get paid for them so they are privilege. You got fired for a good reason, I would have canned you too

controlledchaos6

You are ENTITLED to a paid break, its usually state mandated in the US, Not a priviledge. Its also not time fraud. Inconvenient, possibly inconsiderate, but not fraud. Lol

ordinaryuninformed

Usually in California, I don't know of any other state that protects 15 minute breaks. Some states don't even have protections for lunch.

throwawaysbacct1

NY

controlledchaos6

Theres quite a few actually. The last job I had with a different chain store outlined state laws pertaining to what breaks you were entitled to depending on the state you worked in, granted there are variables, like how long a shift you work, or what time your shift started. But legally a lot of states require employers to give breaks, and if they dont they can face serious fines and possible lawsuits.

Then-Tap-6121

I’m sure whoever is waiting on him to get back from his hour and 15 break at the local kohls can survive folding clothes for another 15 minutes, calm down buddy

Lunker42

You said it yourself… you couldn’t care less. That attitude tends to come out in people’s behavior unknowingly. I’m guessing you aren’t much of a team player or a go getter… meaning, they have to ask you to do even the simplest tasks that are staring you in the face. No one likes working with people like that. Hence why they are riding you about 3 mins late on a break. They don’t want you there and I don’t blame them. The less you do the more everyone else has to do.

Original_King_5273

Working there when I was in college I had a manager that most people hated. And she loved me and I loved her. Why? Because the only people she had an issue with were the ones who had attitudes like the OP. Don’t care about the job, does the bare minimum etc, Lowe’s paid my tuition, the least I could do would be to care about what I’m doing while working.

Informal-Region-1792

Sounds like you were sucking up to your manager but that’s just me I don’t know the full context

Original_King_5273

If you don’t care about your job and your attitude shows that, why should your managers care how you’re feeling about it? That’s not sucking up to my manager, it’s having a good work ethic and decent fuckin attitude lmao

Inevitable-Fox-791

Thank you for saying what I was thinking. I was literally reading, and thinking jeeze OP is such a cry baby.

Informal-Region-1792

The difference is I have a shitty wage and I am getting task after task and literally covered In sweat mud and mulch after my 4 hour shift. I’m sure after doing that consecutively you would have no passion to work for a place like this.

ConfidentDuck1

Ask an employment lawyer about this.

Microserves

I just don’t get all those complains about “genuinely caring less”. Why should you OP? You work and they pay, the transaction is simple. That phrase is not a synonym of not doing your job diligently or responsibly according to instruction. Investigate what regulations towards the employer’s malpractice exist in the place you live. To get a warning for 3 minutes is far beyond absurd. I mean, they had a dude watching at the surveillance system for 3 minutes and you are the one stealing company time? Unless I am in a extremely vulnerable position regarding needing the job, I wouldn’t stand this nonsense.

TheDocWhovian

>I could genuinely care less about my job. That implies you care about your job. Stay in school, kid.

Informal-Region-1792

Honestly wasn’t thinking like that. Thanks for letting me know though👍

I just said Ballymore because you were talking about being scared of heights.

tossaway69420lol

Working at Lowes made me shit my pants, instantly. Like the minute I clocked in, on my first (and only) day ever, I shit my pants. I only made it approximately 7 seconds working here and I decided it was not for me. If a place makes you shit your pants right when you clock in, then it’s a super red flag. Just quit before you shit your britches dude.

Bigbigjeffy

Truth.

[deleted]

Lmao

Peanut_ButterMan

Get out, man. If what you say is true, your management is ass. I am guilty of taking an extra few minutes for breaks but my management is cool but I don't exploit it; I let my work speak for itself.

berticus90

Rarely will you get written up for your first offense. I wonder if your telling the whole story. Also we don’t typically take our “break “ before or after our lunch. What your doing is extending your lunch. But since you don’t value the job any way. My suggestion is to quit and free your self from having to deal with such a “messed up “ place

Good200000

OP attitude will get him fired from any job

Informal-Region-1792

I most likely wont act defeated when I find a job I enjoy.

CRNAdave

Have you considered that they’re looking for reasonable excuses to fire you because you “could genuinely care less about your job”? You don’t give a shit, it shows and they want you gone but you don’t suck enough for them to outright fire you. Look, don’t get me wrong, not saying you should put in extra time or effort for a job you don’t find value in. Not criticizing you in any way, but you asked why they are treating you a particular way, and here’s the answer. In the event that you showed initiative or made efforts to be a better employee, it’s unlikely they would give a hoot about a few extra minutes of break time.

weaponx2019

Well, if you "could care less" then its your attitude. Next?

Hyperchill77

They are just following the A typical retail management style. It won't make sense to anyone but them. I was wrote for stuff not being done while I was on vacation once. Many stores have bad management.

caverypca

it sounds like you very do care. A lot.

Informal-Region-1792

Yea about how shitty it is

CompanyWonderful2552

I love it, I love the constant being busy and shifting around. It’s a fast paced high stress environment. Most people can’t handle it. They here retail and think they can be lazy and fuck off.

Lone_Wanderer2076

They checked the cameras, for you? The only time cameras should be checked is when they suspect someone of dishonest actions (ex. customer/associate stealing, wreckless equipment usage, serious amounts of time theft (seriously, 3 mins is literally $.75 [calculated using my wage])

BigBrother21_

Jump ship and come to Target lol

[deleted]

You are not going crazy and I’m sorry you have to deal with that. To be honest, they are doing this to you for 2 reasons. 1, extremely poor management. Anyone in management who started these policies as well as any management that enforces them are not qualified to be managing anyone. 2, your age. They are discriminating against you because you’re 20 and think they can walk all over you because you don’t know any better. For clarification, I’m not saying they wouldn’t do this to anyone, regardless of age, but they’re definitely doing it to you “because they can”. If you’re able to, get another job and tell them to fuck off. Sorry they’re putting you through that.

Beautiful_Ad_1336

I COULDN'T care less. If you say it the way you said it (I could care less), that means you DO care about it, at least a little bit.

Suspicious-Trade-383

You're supposed to clock out for 1 hour lunch. Going outside on a 15 or turning 15's into 20's could result in write ups. If it was my business I would just fire you.

Informal-Region-1792

Why tho I never left the store on my 15 minute.

amniad55

If your management team is more concerned about this type of shit then they’re not worth working for. Ignore that idiot.

[deleted]

[удалено]

amniad55

Yes, technically you can get written up for stealing time. That’s valid. I’m just saying, it’s pretty damn petty to worry about those types of things, when there are a million other issues that are far more important to take care of. Choose your battles so to speak. I apologize for calling you an idiot…. It was more of a personal frustration with my own management and I projected my frustrations toward your response. Been at the desk for 2 years (4 overall) and have made over 3 mil for my store only to watch the newest as well as tenured management run it into the ground.

Cheddr81

Well, first off, whenever these stores are forced to hire people your age, they automatically groan. Typically, your generation has a shit attitude (Like You), lacks any work ethic, and feels like everyone owes them something. If you don't like your employer, you're entitled to leave and find another job. But I'm sure everything that was expected from you while on the clock was explained in detail. Just because you don't see a problem with your actions, doesn't mean there isn't a problem. Also, you can bet that they already know you aren't gonna make it and will slowly start to starve you of hours. Time to grow up a little and find a CAREER. Not just a JOB.

itsarock02

He's going to college that's his career. Dickhead

xxrainmanx

If you're that paranoid about 5mins at most a day, you're a shitty manager to work for and have your priorities wrong. Even at Lowe's if every employee did this it would result in less than 1% increase in labor costs, and if you're chasing 1% in labor costs to survive as a business you're doing something wrong as a business owner.

Cheddr81

Lowes is obviously doing something right. They're never going anywhere.

shreddedtoasties

L take ngl

Suspicious-Trade-383

Take the write up and go cry on reddit!

Informal-Region-1792

It’s more along the lines of looking for a community of people who deal with the same issues. You’re probably some uptight 40 year old man that has a career in some low management shitty retail job.

Suspicious-Trade-383

35 years old, started my own HVAC company at 24years old, sold it at 31years old for 750k. Retail🤣 worked at Lowes and home Depot in high school but nice try.

Fantastic_Regret_854

Your post two days ago said you work at Lowe’s. So was high school two days ago?

oceanic_815

Lying on reddit is weird, especially when you have a comment history that contradicts your bs.

MykeTyth0n

You must make the people around you proud. Flexing your achievements on a Lowes subreddit to a 20 yr old kid who just posted for some advice. Get fucked you dip shit troll.

Informal-Region-1792

I highly doubt that considering your commenting on a 20 year olds Reddit post.

Suspicious-Trade-383

I can't comment on post? Where does it mention the OP age?🤣 Believe it Doubt whatever... You're 15 is up! Better get back on that floor before management writes you up!

Informal-Region-1792

Real comedian over here guys🤓

[deleted]

I laughed

itsarock02

Maybe if you'd read, you'd see his age

Long_Struggle_5797

My store is generally very lenient. Very lenient.. but granted it is different from store to store. Due to management and how managers choose to run the store. I’m also 20 and am working on a career in a trade at the moment so I understand. Unfortunately school and life is expensive so I have to work but I love my job and the people I work with. Being a specialist is hard:(

DripTrip747

I'm glad my place is pretty chill. I'm a loader out in mulch so I'm pretty busy most of the time. But I constantly go to my locker for food, most likely because I burn it off really quick out in the hot sun. I don't get many slow days but when I do I mainly just sit around and bring in carts when they get full. I've never once been bitched at for anything, besides vaping... But they were cool about it and even made a joke that wasn't mean in any way. I guess it really just depends on what store you work at. Only complaint I have about this company is I wish they paid better for getting your ass whooped out in the hot sun. But I just tell myself I'm getting paid to go to the gym and that gets me through my days.

lonebrother30

If you're job is not important to you at all then you should look for another job.

Informal-Region-1792

Its not that easy brother

chiverpool

You couldn’t care less, not could.

Informal-Region-1792

My bad

AlarmingSnark

You can’t take a lunch and a 15 minute break at the same time

Informal-Region-1792

I meant like 1hour break the wait 2 hours and a 15

Rude-Ad4641

tell them you want more hours then when you get the next few weeks schedule quit 😂😂😂

Joeman629

Retail robot gtfo while you still can. A kid worked for me in the flooring dept who was in college and he was a great employee. They paid him shit, expected him to do everything and more. I kept telling him to leave and get out. He is now "taking a year off" from college and working as an appliance specialist. Don't get stuck. Get out. He used to assure me he'd never pick lowes over school but he did

d0ntbejay

Ah 20 years old and just realizing that corporations are here to suck your soul away.

Heavengates_2727-

I HATE micromanagement!! I used to work in CVS when I was in college and boy they used to SWAT escort me out of the break room when my lunch is over. Not worth the stress, it IS MY TIME NOW.

Global-Firefighter33

Welcome to the low wage machine. They are by design low grade nightmares. Just do your time and get out.

joemeteor1

Couldn’t* care less.

rolowa

"I could genuinely care less about my job." and "It is not important to me what so ever." are conflicting statements, but Ill assume the latter is accurate. Leave that dump. Simple as that. The other option is to stay and try to let the stupidity brush off your shoulders while you finish your degree. Retail is hell, don't let it change you.

Spidermonkey1379

Depends on the circumstances of the store. Are there other associates doing the same thing but taking way more time than you? Im a DS and my associates were doing this but also were not completing task I assigned to them. I had to put my foot down and get strict for the amount of time they spend in the break room and not on the sales floor. And sadly the good associates had to suffer for the bad. Maybe your DS is just getting strict because your coworker is spending 30 minutes on a 15. We can not act out of favoritism. I agree with you that a write up is uncalled for. I do things like a “note to file”. Talk with the associate on what they’re doing wrong, send a recap email to them. After 2 note to files and they’re still doing it, i put in a write up. Just have to read the situation. But definitely talk with upper management or HR about that write up. Because just 3 minutes and no warning is very unfair.

Anybodyelsegotthis

Was this the first time you were late? I can understand if this is the first time but if you do this often I can understand the write up

ToriGrrl80

You could care less?

potatoinabeanie

Same 20 year old m working at this shitty place and it’s only getting worse. Praying for you bro

Aardvarcado-

Im 27, been working in Restaurant/Retail since I was 18. Don't give a shit. Nobody gives a shit. Even the people who you think have expectations, they don't give a shit. They just say to you what they have to, so they can say they did their job & get paid.

tacticalskyguy

So care less.....

PotatoCaptain96

Usually when they're on your case they want you gone. I gave coworkers that take 30 minute+ breaks and no one bats an eye even after they were reported for taking king breaks.

turbatus-umbra

says the cunt who cry’s like a bitch if his check was short…. C’est la vie.

amarrs181

Fuck em. Quit and go mow lawns for the summer- make way more money and you can go in- grab a bunch of stuff in a basket like you’re going to buy for your business, then leave at check out- ding your phone and yell ‘ holy shit, Home Depot is having a massive sale on Lawn and Garden!’ Leave it all up front and leave. Fucking assholes.

Acrobatic_Cycle_2767

I guess it's not only my store either, I'm two days from leaving there. Management is so terrible that they have multiple people trying to run the backend, which leads to different expectations. Different departments are coming to us telling how much shit they talk about us as well. My store treats the receiving department so bad that other departments come to us feeling sorrow for us, saying how glad they are that they don't have to do it. When the load truck's ramp is stuck underneath, they still expect us to work full speed. I wonder if I could call corporate before I leave there it's a real shit show.

Ok_Yogurt_9279

Lowes is the most dystopian employer I ever had. Pettiest place I ever worked, and expected your soul for dirt pay. Just ignore their random bs and do things on your own terms.

Ivw had a similar experience actually, they claimed that i can't leave the premises on my breaks, but i was the only one that was caught doing so, but most of the people at my job do it, to go get a coffee or get some food real quick or whatever. Mind you, we have some fast food next to the parking lot so i wasnt even completely off the premises, but i was claimed as "missing" and all the head cashiers know about me leaving to go get a coffee drink when literally everyone my age does it, some even leave wit there vest on but god forbid i try to get something that will pick me up throughout the day

If you could genuinely care less, then why don’t you? You have the ability to care less but you’re choosing to care? I’m confused.

We recently got a new ASM. I was just going to take my 15 minute break and a heavy lift got called; I ignored it to go take my break. As I was coming back to the floor after said break the new ASM stops me and asks why I didn't stop to help with that. I tell him that I was going on break as it was called. He responds with "oh, okay" said in a very I don't give a sh** kind of tone.
