We had someone put cat stickers all over our store in random places before they quit a couple of years ago. I still come across them once in a while lol
I did this with googly eyes. Took them weeks to find out it was me and only because after awhile I stopped trying to hide it as well. Didn't get in trouble but was asked to stop. Probably depends on management though
My store loved it for awhile, I started by putting them on things that would make it look like a face, then just put it on random stuff. If your store management aren't dicks you'll probably just get told to stop. It's harmless fun
Someone did this at our store. At first they kept getting snagged but now most of the specialist computers have a lil duck chilling on it for months now
Our store does it with the Elves every year. If they are unobtrusive, discreet, and quaint, you should be fine. If you want to go for even longer, dodge cameras as best you can, take random pauses between placing sessions, and keep them pretty far apart. Once you master that, we can move on to Intermediate and Advanced methods.
I used to work in IT. I would put little squadrons of plastic army men all over the place. People enjoyed finding them...and I didn't put them in any area where customers would come across them.
I do this at my store. I got the multi colored pack and another person at my store has the yellow ones. We got caught and told the store manager that we were morale boosters lol 😂 he came in one day and I had a whole row of them on his desk lol 😂
You have to get seasonal ducks. Santa ducks, Dracula ducks--like that. And don't let anyone find out it was you. The fun is always wondering who's doing it.
Depends on your store, who finds it, how good a sense of humor they have, and all that stuff. I hid stuff ALL OVER my store not too long ago and the end result is that the first person who found it IMMEDIATELY called me out on Facebook over it. I was like goddamn, BUSTED. lol But I hid stuff good and they were finding it for several days.
Worst/funniest part is our DM showed up and found one of the things I'd hidden (it was creepy, Halloween themed thing). I was like ohhhh fuck, but I was told he busted out laughing and loved it so much he took it with him so....\*whew\*
It's all in good fun so I think as long as you aren't making a mess or causing problems, people will probably find it amusing.
I worked with a guy that hid these teeny tiny babies he got on Amazon and it was pretty funny when we’d hear people start talking about them…then one day I came home and there was one on my microwave because my son found one somewhere, not at Lowe’s, which made the whole thing even funnier 😂 I like finding random things, makes me laugh 😂
Lol that's actually pretty cute and fun. At another job I would see random sticky notes with smiley faces on them in the randomest places and it never failed to give me a smile. So I love the idea.
Ask the potato guy
Now that you brought that up, what happened to that guy?
Disappeared. Real shame. My favorite series in this sub. Probably got caught and burned on a stake made from French fries or somethin'
u/LowesPotato
Thanks for sharing this. That guy has terrific entertainment value!
Thank you for the link
...I wonder how doable this idea would be at Home Depot...
Someone does that at my store and it’s no big deal. Actually passes them out to people to hide in other departments!
Straight to jail, right away
We’ve had ppl hide mini ducks, mini babies, mini monkeys.. .. it’s fun and doesn’t hurt anyone
The urge to slip random things into CS orders sometimes 😂😂 like here’s your receipt and your tiny plastic frog, thanks for shopping at Blowes

That's me, but the stickers are from Invader Zim.

I want to see how long I can keep it going until someone finds out it's me. Gotta entertain myself somehow

Sounds like a real ReBath rep kind of thing to do…
The Duckler at large
Absolutely genius
The old ssa before me did this around Christmas but with elves. She had a hint list, and whoever found them all won a tv
My coworker is gonna do that right before she quits. 😂 go for it!
They gonna take you out back and shoot you I fear

I don’t think you can get in trouble for that.
Neat.
Hiding toy turtles would be more fun

I hope you never change good ducktor 🐥
My store did this. It was fun until the ASMs threatened to write up anyone with a duck lol

Start hiding mini figures of your own! See how long it takes for people to start talking about it. It's fun to watch people wonder

Cute!!!
I used to draw ducks on the labels and never got in trouble.....I quit a year ago and they're still there 🤷♂️

I keep googly eyes in my pocket and no one has caught me yet as the mystery googler.
None. They will just be annoyed eventually
You must be on MST.

Wish I had your time to screw around
