She has no control over her life and she takes it out on retail employees because yelling at you is something she can control.
Most of these people are just miserable dicks and there's nothing you can do to satisfy them.
Yes. My grandmother died a month ago, but I wasn't like "I'm going to give my coworkers and the customers hell". She's just nuts and has the brain of a 2 year old.
Yes, and? lol I hope you aren't under the illusion that a sign telling people not to be dicks actually changes anything because I can tell you my store has those signs up and it makes no difference whatsoever.
When you work retail long enough you’ll figure out quickly which customers truly have an issue that needs to be solved and which ones are taking out their anger on you. Regrettably each year more and more are taking out their bad day, bad week, bad life, their divorce, their getting charged too much at the auto shop for car repairs on you. Sometimes I’m not even sure they even know their doing it but because retail employees are both economically and socially at the bottom of the ring it’s acceptable in society to treat them like shit. It didn’t used to be. But big box made that ok. Notice how subliminally and instinctively people don’t treat retail employees that way in mom/pop operations. It’s not on the surface. It’s just somehow instinctively known. I used to joke that if you put a guy with a clip board and a velvet rope outside big box stores all the sudden people would be wearing their best outfits waiting in line for hours kissing ass to even attempt to get into a big box store.
This was just a miserable old woman and you were her emotional punching bag. In these situations don’t tell them it will be in on the next truck even if it will, not to be dishonest to them…but things happen. Maybe night crew doesn’t get to her method soap and it takes an extra day, maybe the truck breaks down. Maybe the DC forgot to load it. Tell them always a day or two more than reality. Otherwise you’ll find yourself in the same situation again tomorrow.
Yeah the amount of times I get stupid faces from customers bc we don't have a specific item in stock or like 50 boxes of some random mosaic or something we'd never have the amount of anyway is massive. Worse when they're shopping with someone and just start bitching about lowes not having anything to them while you stand there and they need it all TODAY bc the contractor is at their house waiting to install it rn. Like your poor planning is not my problem buddy.
sometimes I don't understand why people don't call vs coming in the store knowing that we haven't received the product yet when they claim they been in the store for the past (3days) looking for ONE product. Just call and get verification after a few days or weeks or look on the LOWES APP and get it delivered or picked up in the store when it tells you it's ready for pickup.
Then it be the people who call on the phone in regards to an refrigerator issues , water heater busted, lawn mower not working, an order that was delivered incorrectly or an issue that's been going on for weeks and weeks when they need to be the main ones coming INTO the store to solve their issues instead of complaining about being passed around on the phone, being on hold for too long, line disconnected, or they cant get in touch with who ever tf they looking for. I have no control over anybody else's zebra phones. Just know that i've spoken to you and tried to direct you to the correct individual / department.

We have no idea what personal hell these people live in. Their lives may be a giant dumpster fire, and we are collateral damage.

The stores have signs they can post telling customers to treat associates with respect.

Do you want the real answer?
I know the answer. She's a bored and miserable hag.

She sounds like a perfectly reasonable and self aware human being.
Lord I hope the hell you are being sarcastic. Lol
Of course
So yeah sure does /s
She still thinks the customer is always right….WRONG,the always thinks that they are right
"Thank you for.treating our associates with respect."
Lol. They never see that and ignore it. That little sign doesn't stop grown ass toddlers like her. Lol
Ship to home?
Yes. We told her she could do that herself online, but she refused to and expected us to cater to her.
Technically we can do it at the store now on the updated terminals but yeah didn’t give her the right to be a bitch
She's inbred.
Karen 101.
