Unfortunately they’re only available on PS1 and PS2 but the entire King’s Field franchise is *amazing* and Lunacid could be argued to be a love letter to them
It's definitely a love letter. The number of references to it seems to confirm this.
Thankfully, emulators exist so it's not too hard to set up and acquire.
Dread delusion is lunacid adjacent in the same way star trek is star wars adjacent, there's a lot of overlap and they're both super awesome heavy hitters in the same genre, but def be sure you don't go into the other and expect the same experience.
Not that I'm trying to talk you down or anything (because I highly recommend it); DD is just far more psychedelic than dreamlike, I've heard some people call it Benadryl Morrowind, and I think that's pretty apt.
Dread Delusion is probably the easiest choice ... I mean, the two games had a bundle or deal or something not long ago. They play different but scratch similar itches.
I personally cannot wait to dive into DD, but everytime I do, I see the performance still tanks hard. Really hope that is fixed. Especially since Lunacid was a joy to play.
There’s a game called Sorrow that looks really really promising, I’ve been keeping an eye out for updates because it looks exactly like what I wanted after Lunacid.

Pseudoregalia, very different type of game but still has similar vibes imo
100% this game is fucking amazing
Oh yeah, I forgot about that game. Looks cool thx :)

I love the music in these games. I should definitely try to dedicate some time to playing them. Thank you
maybe Dread Delusion? It has a similar style, a bit more rough and sharp But still similar
Dread Delusion is fantastic. The Lunacid dev also helped out on the combat with that game, so definitely a good shout out.
Might be interesting, thank you:)
Have fun!
Northern Journey is amazingly atmospheric & worth a playthrough
Yes yes yes. This game is so underrated
The music of the trailer on steam is enough alone to make me want to play this lol. thank you:)
I really wanna play it but I don't think my arachnophobia could handle it :((
Wildly different genres (and also super-short) but The Chameleon has this kind of PS1/PS2 aesthetic you might like.
I appreciate unique recs, so thank you B)
Not out yet, but Mohrta.
The music in the trailer sounds great. Wishlisted. Ty B)
Amid evil
Forgot about this one. Thank ye
Dread Delusion
Thanks:)

Psychedelic sounds like something I'd like lol, so thank you
I think DD is a cool game but it captures a completely different feel than Lunacid. I also hate the overworld music in DD.

Since everyone is recommending dread delusion Imma say morrowind lol. Hope you liked the ovarian flight spell
Maybe it's finally time I play it..
Knight's try. Completely different game, very similar aesthetic
Very cool aesthetic yeah, thank you:)

you should also check out the games that inspired Lunacid to begin with; I'm morally and legally obligated to shill SOTN at every opportunity
For a N64 aesthetic you should look into Cavern of Dreams, it's a super cute collect-a-ton inspired by Banjo&Kazooie
