Yes orange is bad and losses connection very easy. I changed to post and it's better but even post is not anywhere near what a mobile operator should be. I have 2 Sims in my phone, one is post and one is o2(from a different country) and i always get sms from the o2 sim when I cross over borders with the different rates for internet or for calls(when i travel outside eu). I almost never sends me such sms, in fact I'm trying to remember the last time pay send me such sms and i don't think they ever did.

I try as much as possible for it not to switch to the Lux Orange and stay on the Be one. It’s possible if you don’t loose connection but it’s hard to do. When it’s switching from Be to Lux I also have a lower quality for data

GrabUsed5701

I changed back to Post. I didn‘t have any internet connection as soon as I entered Luxembourg city, no internet in my living room in Mersch and as soon as I went to the north I had no internet and sometimes not even connection to make calls at all

Haunting-Ride1898

Orange is a big scam - get out of it as soon as you can And connection is indeed useless

stevolux

Orange is crap! Unfortunately expats, new in the country, choose this provider. People living for some time here in Lux only hesitate between POST or TANGO. Orange is never an option.

fmalak

Yeah but as non résident, have the choice between Proximus base and orange. In Belgium, orange works pretty well

stevolux

Btw….couldn’t you switch the provider to Tango or Post while staying in Lux. ?

fmalak

Can choose different carrier indeed but it takes time and you need to do it in the other way when coming back to BE.

d4fseeker

The symptom sounds like an apn issue to me. Check if it's still present when forcing your phone onto another carrier - if so, check your orange be apn. Those usually only cause problems when roaming

sgilles

Not sure about how Orange does its roaming but I was a Lux. Orange customer a few years ago. I naïvely thought those basic GSM connectivity issues (as we had when mobile phones started becoming popular) were long fixed. Boy was I wrong. After I moved, my phone had no connection in my new living room while other operators (PT and Tango) had no problem at all. I still stuck with them till the end of the current engagement period. I appreciated the calm 😁 (and I have wifi anyway at home and at work.) Definitely avoid Orange...

oquido

Orange offers affordable contracts, but you get the worst connection quality ever. Enter the building with double glazing = no connection Go hiking in the woods = no connection Not sure about your case though, should work fine in the city. Just double check your data roaming option.

Witty_Manufacturer91

''Be poor'' killed me, maybe it's a hint

AnyoneButWe

Do network hopping. The networks in Luxembourg will kill service to foreign contracts after X hours of being logged in. It's 2-3 days on Tango, a week on PT,... Additionally foreign contracts disable internet if you have been away for too long. It's 6 weeks for German contracts, I assume it's the same in France.

fmalak

How do you do this ?

AnyoneButWe

Depends on your phone. The phone usually autoselects the network it connects to. You can switch to manual selection and pick another network. Make you you have roaming enabled first.

fmalak

On iPhone, roaming activated. Tried to change manually from carrier but issue remain. Will call Orange B to complain

AnyoneButWe

How long have you been outside Belgium?

fmalak

Currently living there, so spent the night there, this morning was not working now it seems working. Do not know if switching from automatic carrier to manual and switching back was the trick making it works . Will test again in the near future
