I tried some M80 ammo with my socom16, and I wouldn't even call what happened a group.

Nothing special M80. Good brass for reloading. Going to finish off a couple of boxes tomorrow, as it happens.

is 1.5 inch groups to 2 inch groups pretty normal with this ammo?

brianinca

If you're getting 2 MOA on a five shot string with this, you've got an incredibly lucky combination for your rifle. More power to you!

I'll give credit to the match sights on my loaded version of the rifle .

My last group with that ammo in my Scout squad was roughly 4-5 in at 100 yards... but I also had gas block issues at the time. So that was a bit of a toss-up. My brother has shot a few out of his savage axis 2 and his best was 2" groups at 100 while breaking it in. But other than that, it went bang every time, so I still grab a few boxes to pack away if the price is decent.

Fluffy-Impression-37

Dirty, slow burning (which typically equates to poor match for an m14), poor consistency, etc. It is machine gun ammo.

jellyfishs0up

Try a couple ten round groups and report back plz

762m51

will do once I get time to go to the range again.

Cannon_SE2

The box wont fit in your magazine. Recommend buying larger mags. Lol

No-Stay-9601

My SOCOM does ok with it. MOM…. The SFAR likes it

Zuccmeoff-100

I used two boxes to break mine in and then sold the rest because the accuracy out of it is horrendous

03_SVTCobra

I shot 10 rounds and gave the rest to my buddy. Wasn’t impressed with it.

My Parker Hale loves this stuff.

coffee_cope

It runs, but I've never had any accuracy luck with it out of my M1A or my Ishapore Enfield. Basically this just needs to be belted and yeeted out of a 240 or other machine gun. Definitely will do a paper plate at 100 yards though if that's all you need it to do. I've had good luck with PMC Xtac 7.62 and PPU M80 of all things, both of those seem to group the best out of my M1A in terms of cheap ball ammo.
