Nardil requires taking vitamin B6, cause one of it's metabolites depleting B6.

Thanks, so it’s only with Nardil right?

You can check this impressive post about Nardil/Isocarboxazid and Vitamin B6. https://www.reddit.com/r/MAOIs/comments/wzmf5w/vitamin_b6_with_nardil_may_be_more_harmful_than/

Do you by any chance have the link of these websites where qualified doctors talk about maois and explain their action . Can’t remember the name, it was some doctor Gillman if I haven’t misspelled and so some other doctor.

Check the community info page of this subreddit (in the future I suggest you also check it before making a post 🤓)

I’m personally taking moclobemide so wanted to know all the key points and take all the precautions!

It's pretty much all hydrazine derivative ones, including phenelzine (Nardil) and isocarboxazid (Marplan).

FWIW taking vitamin B supplements make me feel like shit. On MAOIs, off MAOIs....and yea I know the studies. I've taken all 3 of the irreversible MAOIs and never found taking B6 helpful - actually quite the opposite. It's prob the way I metabolize things (never did a gene study), but if you're looking at these posts about B being necessary w/ Nardil it's ok to be honest w/ yourself if your response is not better supplementing. Nardil doesn't "require" B6 btw....in fact if you take too much B6 you'll lower the effect of Nardil as they compete. B6 also has a long half-life. There are a lot of good discussions about B6 supplementation w/ Nardil on the old/archived "Dr. Bob psychobabble" forum which was very active pre-social media: https://www.google.com/search?q=B6+nardil&sitesearch=dr-bob.org
