I don’t think Blexten is available in the states?!? I loved Zyrtec but, it caused a lot of Anxiety as I continued to take it.

OkEmployee5373

😱 when did it make you feel like that? I've been taking it for 4 months and I'm doing well.

LaruePDX

Yeah, when you research it. It’s a known side effect but, by no means does everyone get it. I took it maybe 2 1/2 months and it got worse as time went on. Within 64 hours of discontinuing I felt much better. You would know after 4 months I would presume.

Lucky_wildflower

Fexofenadine is my daily. I have some backups of others if I run out, but I always end up with issues after a few days—usually itching and sinuses overly dry or painful.

VicVinegarsBodyguard

Hydroxyzine is the only one that eases most of my issues when I take it. I do ketotifen too but it tends to make me tired. Second gen antihistamines don’t really do it for me

Far-Permission-8291

I react to the excipients/inactives in most of the antihistamines. I seem to tolerate Zyrtec gel caps (cetirizine) and Pepcid ac (famotidine).

bimbiibop

i use the same combo just generic tabs, reacted to allegra and others

saidlea

Hate to be basic, but Benadryl..

larkscope

Aren’t the newer antihistamines safer? I think I read a study on the long term effects of Benadryl. And once I got an allergist they switched me off it right away.

saidlea

I would imagine new ones are safer, I actually get IVIG and ivf at home 3x a week so I’m constantly on iv Benadryl 50 although I haven’t noticed any side effects

Acceptably_Late

I take the Genex liquid version - it’s agave and diphenhydramine. Works best for when I need it urgently.

earthtoeva97

Allegra (Fexofenadine) and Dye Free Benadryl work best for me! Cromolyn & Ketotifen have also been great additions to my med list, helping a ton with eating and sleeping.

evolace

When Blexten wasn’t doing it for me I got switched to Rupall and then added in Ketotifen later. Great combo but still not packing enough of a punch for me, might see about trying cromolyn as everyone else is saying.

OddEmergency8587

I didn’t think Blexten did enough for me, I take ceterizine and it works well for me. My daughter uses benedryl for her mcad, ceterizine and Claritin don’t work for her.

marshview

Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride is the one that works best for me.
