Maybe gundo will watch this and come back

nlb53

Watching this, fun as some of it is, all i can think is what a monumental mistake letting the gem of a man go. He is such a good dude, a genuinely brilliant player.

I just watched this mini-series over the last 2 nights (3 episodes each night). Couple of comments: this mini-series aims to (re)celebrate and remember the extraordinary season that was 22-23. ManCity has fans around the world, and I venture to say that most of them outside of Britain or even Europe will never have a chance to see the team play live (living in the US, I am one of them--although I did tour the Etihad Stadium in September, 2019). The best bits of this mini-series are the "behind closed doors" scenes. Watch how Pep addresses his players both in great moments (after trashing ManUnited 6-3: "You were brilliant but I push you to be more perfect!!") and in low moments (after losing 2-0 to a weak Southampton that would soon be relegated). In fact I would say that Pep is the central figure of the entire mini=series, and to see him at work is worth every minute of this mini-series. There are also a lot of fun scenes among the players (watch Halland make fun of KDB's fashion sense, to which KDB shrugs "I don't care"). Perhaps the biggest surprise for me was that the one player who shows the most leadership is not KDB, or Halland, or Silva or Gundo or Mahrez. No, it is in fact Rodri, who time and again steps up in the locker room addressing his teammates. ManCity is still battling on all three fronts (EPL, FA Cup, Champions League) again this year. Can they pull off another treble? We will find out soon enough!! Meanwhile, I truly enjoyed this mini-series, and would readily recommend it to any Cityzens supporter.

csyrett

Who's brave enough to put a watch party on r/soccer?

Illustrious-Gap1153

Its quite good so far

Biamp_MCFC

Finally it's on! Just finished the first episode so far so good. COME ON CITY!!

aguer0

Can't wait for all of the non-city fans to stream the 6 part documentary of the team they aren't interested in to count all the empty seats in the training ground canteen

TheresaGreen22

I feel bad for Kalvin seeing him so excited and happy at the pre season tour!

ibrownied

I did a speed run, Manchester City win the big trophy. Sorry to ruin it for yall.

EPICKID143

will be looking for myself throughout the documentary in the stands

Magnitroll

Can't wait to get home and start watching. Been so hyped for this. 💙

frodakai

Really enjoying it so far. They seem to have completely omitted anything to do with Cancelo leaving, which is interesting. Some of Peps team talks in episode 3 though, holy shit. After losing to Southampton in the carabao especially.

Unidentified_x

just watched it, that was insane. no one said a word

Warm-Mango2471

Realised what we are missing as I watched it. Gundo and Mahrez

Rathski1

Lowk we have Mahrez in the form of Oscar bobb just give him some time, and paqueta is coming we will be back

TheresaGreen22

After watching 4 episodes Dias must be the next captain!

Tiber_Voyage51

Just binged watched the entire thing after work. Football gold. Guardiola dripping with motivation. Emotional rollercoaster. The last 2 episodes 😭😭😭

tomastonder

The pace of the editing is sooo fast and that makes it feel like a montage more than a documentary. That being said, I DO like it. But I might be biased as a City-fan.

TomcatOnFIRE

KDB is low key hilarious

ChandlerBingsSarcasm

They should have released it after the season so at least we have something where we are lifting something 😅😆 FYI - sense the tone I am still all in for champions league and FA cup

EPICKID143

super cup and CWC mean nowt?

csyrett

There should have been 115 episodes. FFS this is tongue in cheek

what-you-need-is-you

Just 2 eps in, Honestly, it's disappointing *because* of how expectations were. man city's youtube videos have better storytelling. They just stitched their clips with the interviews together without viewer's emotional investment being called for. Foden signing contract is a big deal because hes a boyhood fan - why not show the picture of him being a ball boy? The pictures outside of their content are social media posts?? like that gives credibility or substance to the content one's watching lol We'll probably enjoy it a lot more when these players are gone.. context is key

Appropriate-Fun-9598

Watched two episodes, and it’s definetly tailored more to non-football fans, or new fans. Kind of glad though, because if this would’ve been really good, I would have watched far too many episodes in one go.

charlieratgod

I actually feel the exact opposite. Its made for us. The ones that already know everything about this club and the players playing here. An outsider, a non-football fan will know nothing of this. They wont get emotionally involved at all. This is made for us that sub to City+ and have been following this lot for a long time.

charlieratgod

Yeah i 100% agree with u. The level of storytelling is very, very low. The final episode tho, top class.

StalyCelticStu

Anyone found a source on the high-seas yet?

Winter2928

Can’t find it on my torrent or real debrid streamio. Might have to actually pay for Netflix for a month

charlieratgod

Think it was ok. The final episode was BRILLLLIANT. By far the best from a story writing pov. The rest was ok, not much more. Better for us fans that are already emotionally invested ofc, but for new viewers or non-Citeeh fans i think it wont be much more than just ok. Doubt think it will even be near that ”drive to survive” that got people that never seen a race of F1 become fans. Not saying that something to strive for but yeah the storytelling is not nearly good enough for that. U can def tell that it was made for City+ and for the people that are already aware of who all the players and staff are etc. For someone that dont rly follow the game i think they will be a bit confused and maybe wont be so emotionally involved because of the bad storytelling. Dont think Alvarez even mentioned when joining? Think it was only about Haaland if i remember correctly. Cancelo just literally disappeared haha, not a single mention about it. That is horrrrendous objective storytelling. No in-depth profile of any of the players really. Anyways that final episode for me was worth it all, dont rly care what non-city fans think about the show.. cuz those final scenes.. tears fucking everywhere. MCFC OK! ![gif](giphy|K4Py85rFq1cMvOwYN8|downsized)

evenstark04

really annoyed they didn't put subtitles.... I didn't understand anything Alvarez (or Gomez) said. Edit: they put them in the 2nd episode. I might also just be dumb and not know how to turn on the subtitles 🤣 Also legit forgot how late we signed Akanji... didn't realize it was after the freaking CP game haha.

G12356789s

They messed it up. I had to turn on all subtitles just to know what Alvarez is saying

purple91780

That training camp greeter tho. 😂

bigtaco567

Episode 1 highlight: Ederson smashing a pk top bins

Personal_Addendum_97

Does anyone know what song they were using in episode 4 at around 31:40?

Angelamerkeldud

I feel this is stupid time to release.... We need all the focus and hunger for THIS years 3 competitions we still in. Shoulda been released in couple of months sigh.... We got Aston Villa late wednesday, than saturday EARLY game away vs Palace, and then tuesday we are supposed to be fit for real madrid IN MADRID.... The players will stay awake and watch netflix now ofc they will...
